Meghan Markle Is Reportedly on a Secret Girls' Trip to New York City for Her Baby Shower

Sound the alarms and fire up a rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” because Meghan Markle is reportedly back on American soil. Reports have emerged that the Duchess of Sussex is currently in New York City for a girls’ trip ahead of the birth of her and Prince Harry’s first child this spring. Royal reporter Omid Scobie, who often travels with the royal couple to their official engagements, has confirmed that Markle is spending the five-night trip with her closest friends, perhaps some of those who recently spoke out in her defense.

“The trip is a lovely chance to catch up with friends and spend time in a city she loves,” a source told Harper’s Bazaar of the getaway. “This will be the last time a lot of them will see Meg until after the baby is born, so it’s nice to share precious moments.” Given some of the tough headlines and endless speculation about every aspect of her life, it seems like the perfect time for a well-deserved break for Markle.

So what does a royal do on a girls’ trip? Sources say much of the hang time is being done in private at her five-star hotel (understandable) but Markle was spotted eating at a restaurant in Soho with her BFF, stylist Jessica Mulroney.

“It’s been a relaxing visit. Nothing beats face time with your friends,” says a source. “Meg will be flying home refreshed and relaxed—and with a lot of new baby clothes.”

One big reason for all those new clothes? A baby shower! Scobie reports that Markle’s friends are throwing her and Baby Sussex a celebration on Tuesday for about 20 people. Showers are much more of an American tradition, so it makes sense that she’s having hers on this side of the pond.

But that’s not all Markle has on her plate before the next royal baby arrives: Next up for Markle is an official trip with Prince Harry to Morocco on February 23-25.

10 Steamy Shower Sex Positions to Try Tonight

Who doesn’t get a little turned on when their partner joins them in the shower? The cascading water, the steam, the delicious aromas wafting through the air, and the spanking clean, naked skin are total aphrodisiacs. But let’s be real: shower sex ain’t easy to pull off. All the same things that make it so hot—the slipperiness, the crammed quarters—also make it logistically challenging. To get it on without slipping and sliding all over the place, try one of these 10 shower sex positions.

How to do it: Lean back against the shower wall while your partner stands in front of you—then wrap one leg around their waist (or ask them to hold the back of your knee in the crook of their elbow to make this move a little easier on you). From this angle, they can penetrate you, finger you, use a waterproof vibrator, or do pretty much whatever your heart (and body) desires.

Why it works: You’ve got support in two places—the wall and your partner’s arms—so a tumble out of the tub is unlikely. Plus, this position allows you to have sex face-to-face, which is nice because it’s so intimate (and you get a good view).

How to do it: Put your palms against the shower wall, leaning toward it at a 45-degree angle with your knees slightly bent for comfort. Your partner can then penetrate you from behind or reach around to play with your clitoris or breasts—or, even better, all of the above.

Why it works: This is considered one of the go-to shower sex positions for a reason: You’re secure between the wall and your partner, which leaves you free to focus on the sensations instead of worrying about slipping.

How to do it: Have your partner take a seat with their butt on the tub’s base and their legs stretched out, then straddle them for any version of woman-on-top sex that you prefer.

Why it works: Woman-on-top sex lets you control the pace and intensity. Bonus: The water hitting your back will keep you nice and warm.

How to do it: Stand with one leg bent onto the rim of the tub to keep your balance (Captain Morgan-style), and have your partner sit between your legs and go down on you.

Why it works: Admittedly, this position comes with the most risk—a wet foot placed on the edge of a slippery tub could send you flying out of said tub—so proceed with extreme caution and dry feet. But done right, this angle can feel divine. The leg up lets you spread your legs apart so your partner can hit just the right spots.

How to do it: Your partner takes full control, picking you up and holding you midair as you wrap your legs around their waist for a steamy makeout session. While it can be a little bit of a workout, it’s well worth the effort.

Why it works: This position will feel ultra sexy with the water coming down around you both. Plus, since you’re face to face, you can let your hands wander wherever they please.

How to do it: With your partner behind you and you bent over, drop your head toward your toes and lift one leg into a standing split, just like you’d do in yoga class. (This one’s not easy, we know, so proceed with extreme caution). Leave your raised leg resting on your partner’s chest so they can please you from behind with their hands, penis, or toy.

Selena Gomez Threw Her Best Friend the Most Beautiful Bridal Shower

No matter how famous she gets—and she is, after all, a pop star and the former most-followed person on Instagram for two years running—Selena Gomez still makes the time to keep it real and kick back with some of her pre-fame best friends. Gomez makes trips back to Texas to catch up with the girls, whether it’s to invite them all to her pasta-themed birthday party on a yacht or get that ultimate signifier of a BFF bond: matching squad tattoos. And for her latest trip, over the weekend, she went all out for a very good reason. Gomez apparently helped throw Courtney Barry, one of her besties, a beautiful shower that was—luckily for us—documented on social media. The bride-to-be wrote on her own Instagram that “a few of my perfect girls threw me a perfect shower” along with a collage of Polaroid photos from the event where fans quickly spotted Gomez in a gorgeous red dress.

Also, wow, how gorgeous does the party look?

Fan accounts nabbed more footage from posts by other, less-famous guests at the shower.

To whoever decided on the ring pop flavors, we say, “Well done.”

Gomez and Barry go way back and have often posted about their squad’s escapades on social media.

And back to that one time they got tattoos: Gomez took the moment to expand on why exactly she and Barry will always be tight. “…My actual #1 @courtneyjbarry you are an incredible woman. The way you handle life’s most confusing moments is indescribable and graceful” she wrote. “You are moved by the littlest stories to the most heartbreaking ones, you will give someone your perfume if they say you smell nice, you are freaking hilarious and always stand firm in your faith, a loving sister, an amazing friend and a beautiful daughter. You are the definition of FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY made baby! #1

We have a feeling this won’t be the last of the wedding festivities Gomez makes time for—and we can’t wait to see the pics.

It Sure Looks Like Jessica Simpson Revealed Her Daughter's Name at Her Baby Shower

Jessica Simpson, if you haven’t heard, is expecting baby number three—and on Saturday, January 19, there was a shower to help welcome the new one into the world. We assumed there’d be plenty of gifts there for the forthcoming newborn, but we didn’t expect Simpson to have one for us: the name of her baby girl.

The baby shower looked like it had a sort of bohemian woodland-fairy vibe, judging by the pics she posted on her Instagram of the event. Fittingly, Simpson wore a long white dress that she paired with a Game of Thrones meets spring goddess cape. The whole look was topped off, naturally, with a flower crown. Florals were everywhere else at the party too, from the wallpaper print and arrangements to the guests, who came wearing dresses in floral prints or embellished with appliqués. And, yes, everyone had their own flower crowns.

But among all the flora and greenery, there was one telling detail that might hint at her daughter’s name: Against the backdrop where Simpson and her guests stood to post for photos, a sign hung down saying “Birdie’s Nest.” It seems like Birdie might just be the name of her forthcoming daughter, no?

It seems that might actually be the case: A source confirmed to Us Weekly that “Birdie” is indeed the name of the baby-to-be. Of course, we won’t know for sure until we hear from Simpson herself. Until then, major congrats to her (and whoever made this party happen, because it’s seriously gorgeous).

And yes, the rest of the shots from the party were just as beautiful. Check out the rest of the pics, below:

Priyanka Chopra Explained Why She Wore a Marchesa Gown to Her Bridal Shower

Priyanka Chopra celebrated her bridal shower at Tiffany & Co. in New York over the weekend, and both the party and her dress—a Marchesa strapless gown with a feathered hem—made headlines. In a new interview with WWD, Chopra explained why she chose to wear a gown from the brand cofounded by Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig.

“Georgina’s a friend of mine, and she has been,” Chopra told WWD. “Women supporting women: That’s what we’re all about.”

Marchesa, once a label frequently spotted on the red carpet, has been less prominent among the celebrity crowd since 2017, when the New York Times first published its report on Harvey Weinstein, then Chapman’s husband. (They have since separated.) The connection between the brand and the disgraced Hollywood producer came under scrutiny, and its presence on the awards-show circuit noticeably subsided.

Chopra explained to WWD that she thinks Chapman’s label shouldn’t be sullied by the controversy surrounding the designer’s former husband: “[It’s] not her fault. And I don’t think it’s right to take it out on a self-made woman what somebody in her life did. That’s the wrong attitude. I’ve known her for years, and that was a beautiful gown, and deserved to be worn by a bride-to-be. And it made me feel like a princess. It was the right choice.”

Celebrity Sightings in New York City - October 28, 2018

In recent months Marchesa has slowly begun to reemerge: Scarlett Johansson wore one of its gowns to the 2018 Met Gala (the first celebrity to wear the brand on a red carpet since the article was published in October 2017), and one of its designs was featured as part of a climactic scene in Crazy Rich Asians. Chapman also gave her first interview following the Weinstein allegations to Vogue in its June 2018 issue.

Celebrities who have worn Marchesa in 2018 have echoed Chopra’s sentiments. Following the Met Gala, Johansson released a statement about her look, saying: “I wore Marchesa because their clothes make women feel confident and beautiful, and it is my pleasure to support a brand created by two incredibly talented and important female designers.”

Kylie Jenner Reportedly Threw a Secret Baby Shower Over the Weekend

By now you’ve probably seen the national news that Kim Kardashian West threw a baby shower over the weekend. Photos of the event flooded feeds yesterday. Kylie Jenner and Khloé Kardashian, who are also reportedly expecting, were there. Kim gave away boxes of her new KKW Beauty perfume, and Chrissy Teigen brought cake (perhaps a loaf of her infamous banana bread?). But you almost certainly missed what happened the next day: Kylie reportedly celebrated her own upcoming arrival with a baby shower at her house, and she barred all attendees from posting any photos from the party online.

A source told People that Kylie hosted the shower at her Hidden Hills home on Sunday, and that the theme was “pajama party” (à la Kim’s own Troop Beverly Hills–themed shower back in 2015, when she was pregnant with son Saint). Another source told the outlet that Kim and the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner family were all in attendance at Kylie’s party. Kylie had reportedly been planning to host her shower on November 12 for quite some time, per the second source, while Kim threw her own fête together just last week. “[Kim’s] was a last-minute baby shower,” the insider said. “Guests received an invitation earlier this week. It was a low-key celebration with family and close friends.”

Although it’s somewhat shocking that Kylie, who has closely documented the last several years of her life via Snapchat and Instagram, chose to keep a life event as big as her (alleged) baby shower off social media, she probably did so because she still has yet to explicitly confirm her pregnancy. (For the record, Khloé also has yet to confirm her pregnancy, which is said to be a boy.) However, a lack of official confirmation from Kylie herself hasn’t stopped fans from speculating about everything from her due date to the sex of her baby: Some say she’ll welcome a baby boy in January, others predict a baby girl in February.

If Kylie has been able to keep her pregnancy—and baby shower—under wraps for this long, there’s a good chance we won’t know anything for certain about her baby until it has already arrived.
