Miley Cyrus Is Selling $20 Condoms, Because of Course She Is

One of the things that makes Miley Cyrus one of the most-followable celebrities is that you can never quite guess what she’s going to do next—but you can count on the fact that it will be seriously entertaining. Once she broke free out of her Hannah Montana child-star mode, all bets were off.

Of course, the one constant over the years has been Cyrus’s incredible voice—and her range: She ranges stylistically from country to pop, with a sprinkling of hip hop and rock as well. And in the lead-up to the release of her latest six-song EP on Friday, she was even more extra than usual on Instagram, prompting a Glamour deep dive into what was going on when she started asking her followers things like whether they’d rather “top like Taylor” or “twerk like Miley.”

The EP, titled She Is Coming (yes, that does have a double meaning), dropped at midnight on Friday and, along with it, a ton of merchandise on her official website. I was exactly 0-percent surprised but 100-percent psyched to see her once again pushing some boundaries with items that are totally NSFW—but very on-brand.

Gotta say, I’m not sure I saw the branded condom, uh, coming though. Yes, that’s right: Miley is selling a $20 “She Is Coming” condom—and yep, that’s a condom, as they’re sold individually. But before you freak out about the cost, it also comes with a digital download of the album (I’m assuming she’d be proud to have people practicing safe sex while listening to her latest bops).

There is a “She Came” T-shirt:

There are also hoodies emblazoned with phrases like “Phone Sex Is Safe Sex” and “I Love My Pussy and That Means I’ve Got Cattitude” in reference to one of the songs on the album.

The merch also features a phone number, 1-833-SHE-ISMC. And yes, it is a real number: You can hear a variety of messages from Cyrus herself when you call.

Honestly, I will never get enough of Miley’s antics—and fortunately for all of us, she shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Your Pregnancy App May Be Selling Your Data—To Your Boss

Tracking health data has gotten intimate. Thanks to the booming femtech industry, there are now dozens of fertility and pregnancy apps like Ovia, which give moms-to-be an easy way to input daily health updates during their pregnancy journeys. The apps, designed in colors like purple and blue, create a fun and welcoming environment to track women’s most personal data—sexual activity, menstrual cycles, fertility, pregnancy symptoms and dates for delivery, even pregnancy loss—in a free, user friendly mobile app. The idea that these apps might be selling your data isn’t new. But what if your data wasn’t going to some third party advertiser but rather someone much closer to you—like your boss.

Earlier this week, the Washington Post, reported Ovia Health, the parent company behind apps for fertility, pregnancy and parenting, is selling users’ data to their employers. The Post spoke with Diana Diller, a 39-year old Los Angeles-based event planner, who was using Ovia during her pregnancy to log daily activity such as bodily functions and sex drive. Her employer, Activision Blizzard, a video game company, was following along.

Activation Blizzard is part of a program offered by Ovia Health where employers can pay to offer employees a special version of the app as an employee benefit. The catch? The company gains access to the aggregated, anonymized data shared by its employees. Milt Ezzard, vice president of global benefits for Activision Blizzard, told the Post offering “pregnancy programs such as Ovia help the company keep skilled women.” But experts worry employers could use the information to increase or decrease health coverage depending on what they see in the data. There’s also the fear that companies could use incredibly intimate details like whether or not a woman was having premature birth or suffering a miscarriage, in order to make business decisions. “The health information is sensitive but could also play a critical role in boosting women’s well-being and companies’ bottom lines,” Paris Wallace, chief executive of Ovia Health told the Post, pointing to rising rates of premature birth and maternal death as the reasons why they want to sell this information to employers.

“It feels like a very big breach of privacy, it makes me feel uncomfortable, and it feels like this company has preyed on women who are in the most exciting and vulnerable time of their life,” says Brianna Bell, 29, a writer based in Guelph, Ontario. Bell used Ovia’s pregnancy and parenting apps for 18 months without knowing the company could sell her information. (Ovia’s consumer apps—the free to download Ovia Fertility, Ovia Pregnancy and Ovia Parenting—“do not share any data with employers,” a representative of the company said in a statement provided to Glamour. But the apps’ terms of service do state that by agreeing to use the product users grant Ovia the right to “utilize and exploit” their anonymous personal data for research, marketing purposes, or sale to other third parties.)

The idea of your data—even if it has been stripped of your name—floating around out there for use is unsettling. But is there really anything to worry about? Users need to opt in to Ovia’s employer programs like the one offered by Activation Blizzard, according to the company, and of course, you can always choose not to input certain data. “An employer then only receives population level data once a certain threshold of users has been reached,” Ovia told Glamour, adding that they only work with large companies to reduce the risk of a specific pregnant woman being identified in the office. “We are not reporting personal, intimate information like cycle data or pregnancy symptoms to employers,” the company says.

Buckingham Palace Is Selling $40 Replicas of Meghan Markle's Engagement Ring

Meghan Markle has worn a number of shoppable looks since becoming the duchess of Sussex. But there’s one item even the most royal-obsessed can’t get their hands on through official avenues: an exact copy of her engagement ring. Cleave and Company, the London-based company that made Markle’s ring, announced last winter that it wouldn’t make official replicas of of the diamond piece. But the Buckingham Palace gift shop is now selling the next best thing.

PHOTO: Chris Jackson

This week the Royal Collection, which operates the official gift shop of Buckingham Palace, released a collection of “statement jewelry” online, which includes a ring that is reminiscent of Markle’s engagement ring. And the likeness isn’t coincidental: Per the product description, “the design of this new statement range is inspired by the engagement ring of Meghan Markle.”

Retailing for 30 British pounds (approximately $40 U.S.), the Buckingham Palace Statement Ring is “made of sparkling crystals set on palladium plated metal.” And, yes, the Royal Collection ships worldwide.

Buckingham Palace seems to be merchandising the “Markle Sparkle” for all it’s worth. Along with the Markle-inspired statement ring, the shop is selling coordinating pieces that also site the duchess of Sussex as the design inspiration. Take these earrings, for instance.

This definitely isn’t the first time that replicas of Meghan Markle’s wardrobe have been sold: Shortly after the royal wedding, bridal brands began hawking imitations of the duchess’s wedding gowns by Claire Waight Keller for Givenchy and Stella McCartney. This appears to be a new phenomenon for Buckingham Palace, though—the royal collection currently doesn’t sell pieces “inspired by” Kate Middleton‘s ring (we checked).

If you’re not down with international shipping fees, there are even more dupes of Markle’s engagement ring available on sites like Etsy, Walmart, and Amazon. Here are some of our favorites.

If there’s one thing we can take away from the royal-sanctioned replica, it’s this: Not even Buckingham Palace is immune to the power of the Meghan Markle effect.

Michelle Obama Is Selling Out Arenas for Her Book Tour—and Some Tickets Cost as Much as $3,000

Michelle Obama and her BFF Beyoncé have a lot in common: They’re strong women. They’re constantly referred to as “queen.” Oh, and people are willing to shell out hundreds—maybe even thousands—for a ticket to see them.

Tickets for Michelle Obama’s upcoming book tour for her new memoir Becoming recently went on sale. And while it wasn’t a big surprise how quickly fans snapped them up, the price tag did come as a shock to some. Obama will appear in 12 cities across the United States—two extra stops were added to the originally planned 10-city tour to meet the demand—and prices for the event range from a reasonably affordable $29.50 to as much as $3,000. Naturally, the cheaper ones sold out first, according to The Washington Post, leaving only the more expensive options available.

For those who do have $3,000 to spend, it’ll get you more than just a seat in the front row. For that price, guests get to attend a meet-and-greet reception with Obama that includes a pre-show photo opportunity, a signed book, and an “exclusive VIP gift item,” among other perks. Still, some aren’t exactly thrilled at the prospect of paying an arm and a leg to see Michelle Obama’s toned arms IRL.

The price isn’t the only headline-making news about Obama’s upcoming tour. She’s selling out full arenas, which isn’t exactly a regular occurrence for book tours. This has fans likening her to Madonna in the ’80s or, yes, Beyoncé.

And Michelle Obama herself apparently wasn’t prepared for the immense reaction to her tour. “Truly humbled by the response to my upcoming book tour,” she wrote on Twitter. “I can’t wait to share BECOMING with all of you & hope to see you somewhere along the way!”

The tour kicks off in Chicago on November 13, and some tickets are still on sale for a few locations—at least, for now.

Zara Is Selling a Replica of Meghan Markle's 2018 Trooping the Colour Off-the-Shoulder Blazer

Meghan Markle may have a Rolodex full of designer contacts—one of the many, many perks of being a duchess—but that doesn’t mean dressing like her has to come at the designer price point. Zara appears to be selling a near-exact replica of one of our favorite Meghan Markle outfits of all time: her off-the-shoulder Carolina Herrera blazer suit set from the 2018 Trooping the Colour celebration.

The affordable retailer is offering a red Boat Neck Blazer cut in the same style as Markle’s Carolina Herrera number. It features an “open neckline, oversized round buttons, and a folded-over collar—and it can be yours for $99.90.

Even in a totally different color (the Duchess’s was pale pink), there’s no denying the similarities between the jacket and the look that likely inspired it.

As a reminder, here’s Markle’s Carolina Herrera top from earlier this summer.

And, behold, Zara’s take on the Duchess-approved trend.

Markle has proven to be a fan of the boat neck silhouette in her royal capacities. In addition to her Trooping the Colour dress, her Givenchy wedding gown also dipped below her collarbone (and, it’s worth noting, was approved by the queen). The year of the bateau continues!
