This You Season 2 Fan Theory Suggests Love Killed Her First Husband, James

This post contains spoilers for You season 2. Consider yourself warned.

Netflix‘s You is one of those shows where so much happens over the course of a season that you might actually forget key details by the time it’s over. Throughout the duration of You season 2, viewers spend time getting to know Joe/Will’s (Penn Badgley) new obsession, Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti), a nice Los Angeles (rich) girl who seems surprisingly down-to-Earth.

As the episodes progress, we learn that Love is a young widow. Via flashbacks, we see conversations between her and her late husband, James. By the end of the season, we also realize that Love is fully capable of murder: In a shocking twist toward the end, viewers learn that she killed her au pair back in the day and also slits Candace’s throat in an attempt to protect Joe.

Now, a popular fan theory suggests she killed James, as well. Remember, the show only tells us that he was “sick,” but we don’t get any details about what he had. Was it cancer? Something else? Love says the doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong. Maybe it was…poison.

“What if Love poisoned her husband… you notice how she’s making treats daily…. they couldn’t figure out why her husband died, but maybe she poisoned him over time…. #YouNetflix,” one fan tweeted. Another wrote, “Started You season 2 on Netflix and I’m finishing up on episode 1… Love poisoned her husband didn’t she? She said ‘he got sick and they couldn’t figure out what was wrong’ so I’m guessing she killed him? ? Here start my theories! I question everything ?.”

Much like the theory that Joe is not the father of Love’s baby, this one pretty much tracks. Can the third season just happen already so we can find out?

You Season 2: The Hidden Meaning Behind Love and Forty's Names

You season two spoilers ahead. Consider yourself warned.

Netflix dropped the second season of its hit show, You, the day after Christmas, and it would seem—based on internet conversations—that people consumed it almost immediately in a holiday marathon. But watching the show so quickly may have caused fans to miss a few Easter eggs.

The second season takes Joe (Penn Badgley) from New York to Los Angeles as he tries to hide from his not-so-dead ex-girlfriend, Candace, who knows the truth about his stalker-y, murderous ways. He’s assumed the new identity of Will and gets a job at a very L.A. market named Anavrin (Nirvana spelled backwards), owned by the very rich Quinn family.

The Quinn twins—Love and Forty—work at the store, and Joe/Will is quickly enmeshed in their lives and becomes obsessed with Love. Their names are, admittedly, pretty wild—James Scully, who plays Forty, admitted that to Glamour last month. But they each actually have special meanings: They’re both terms used to score a tennis match.

For the uninitiated: Each game in tennis is scored in a unique way. In fact, “love” is the term for “zero”—as in a game technically begins with a score of “love-love,” though you won’t often hear it worded that way. When someone scores the first point, the score becomes “15-love,” and if the other player continues to not win any point the score would become “30-love” and then…you guessed it, “forty-love.” It’s a weird system, which is perfect for this weird family.

So what you maybe thought were just wacky names rich people in L.A. would name their children are actually…tennis-related wacky names rich people in L.A. would name their children. We even see Love and Forty play tennis together, making this revelation all the more clever.

This latest nugget has us questioning what else we may have missed this season. Looks like we’ll have to watch it all over again as we wait for that elusive third season.

This You Season 2 Fan Theory Suggests Joe Isn't the Father of Love's Baby

This post contains spoilers for You season two. Proceed at your own risk.

Have you recovered from all the twists and turns in You season two on Netflix yet? It was quite a ride watching Joe carve out a new life for himself in Los Angeles as “Will” and become obsessed with a new woman—the aptly-named, Love.

But as you know, Love isn’t exactly the sweet, organic juice-drinking Angeleno she originally appeared to be. By the end of the season, we came to learn that she, too, is a murderer who fundamentally believes her actions are justified. She’s just protecting the people she loves, right? Love also drops a big bombshell on Joe: She’s pregnant. In the final scenes, we see the couple moving into a new house with her baby bump on display.

Fans, however, have a theory about said pregnancy that has a lot of evidence behind it. They think the baby isn’t actually Joe’s, but her ex Milo’s. During a breakup after Love discovers Joe/Will has been lying about his identity, she briefly reconnects with her old flame, who also happens to be her dead ex-husband’s best friend.

Honestly, this theory tracks. It’s weird Joe doesn’t question the timing of Love’s pregnancy at all or the fact that Love blurts out this news in an attempt to save her own life.

” I have a very strong theory for You season 3 and your thoughts on it. I believe the baby is not Joe’s it’s Milo’s. After Love broke up with him she had sex with Milo. Love and Joe didn’t get back together until he was getting ready to leave LA in the final episodes,” one fan tweeted. Another posted, “Since Love is a professional liar, what if the baby is actually Milo’s and her saying she told him to use protection is just an excuse for Joe to stay with her ?,”

As You has proven in its two seasons, no theory is too wild or twist too weird, but we’ll just have to wait and see how this all turns out. While no official announcement has been made regarding season three, we’re keeping our fingers crossed.

'Sex Education' Season 2: Everything We Know

1. The release date. The second season launches on Netflix on Friday, January 17, 2020.

2. The storylines. Per a Netflix rep, “In season two, as a late bloomer Otis must master his newly discovered sexual urges in order to progress with his girlfriend Ola whilst also dealing with his now strained relationship with Maeve. Meanwhile, Moordale Secondary is in the throes of a chlamydia outbreak, highlighting the need for better sex education at the school and new kids come to town who will challenge the status quo.”

3. The entire cast will return. You heard that right. Otis, Maeve, Eric, and the whole gang. But in the final episode of the first season we saw bad boy Adam get shipped off to boarding school (right after hooking up with Eric…). Now that we know the whole cast is returning, does that mean he’ll be back in the halls of Moordale Secondary School? Only time will tell.

4. There will be new relationships. Creator Laurie Nunn told Thrillist, “I love the idea of getting different characters together—if not together in a relationship, just together in the space. Like, I never thought those two characters would have a conversation, and there will be loads of opportunity for that.” But what does that mean for Maeve and Otis? The last we left them, Maeve was headed to Otis’ house to tell him she had feelings for him only to find him kissing Ola. While there haven’t been any official announcements on the fate of their relationship, it’s safe to say we’ll definitely be seeing more of them in season two.

The Bachelor Season 24, Episode 1 Recap: Hannah Brown Stirs the Pot During Peter Weber's First Week

The Bachelor is officially back, my friends—with 30 women competing for Peter Weber’s heart. You know, Peter? The pilot? He had sex with Hannah Brown four times in a windmill? Did I mention he’s a pilot? This first episode certainly did…many times over. There were plane puns and drama aplenty in tonight’s premiere, so let’s just dive right in, shall we?

My first thought out of the gate with this Bachelor episode is that Peter Weber is way, way hotter now than he was in Hannah Brown’s season. Is it the facial hair? The tan? The montages of him flying planes over sunsets? Who’s to say? All I know is I’m more invested than I thought I’d be. Pilot Pete!

Peter says he fell in love with Hannah, which, duh (please see: windmill sex). But she broke his heart and picked that guitar player who turned out to be a total scammer. Time, family, and a large Instagram following seemed to cure Peter’s woes, though, and now he wants “a girl that you, without a doubt, can call your best friend.” How sweet. How tender. How rom-com. He says he’s in the “captain’s chair” now, which will no-doubt be the first of five million plane puns this season.

It’s night one. Peter has his tux on and says he didn’t know what he did to deserve this. (I’m asking myself the same question! Where’s Tyler C.?! Kidding.)

We first meet Alexa, 27, a caregiver who also waxes vaginas. It’s her side hustle. She says “waxing is a lot like love…you have to bare it all.” OK!

Next up: Hannah Ann. A tongue-twister of a name if there ever was one. She’s a “model” from Knoxville, Tennessee and has amazing hair. That’s all I think right now.

But we need to talk about Tammy, the 24-year-old fighter-slash-realtor from Syracuse. I can already tell she’s better than Peter. Let him fly you and your future husband first class around the world, girl.

We then pan to our first emotional story of the night: Victoria P, a 27-year-old nurse whose mother struggled with addiction. She cries a lot during her intro. We must protect Victoria P. at all costs.

And also Kelley, a 27-year-old attorney. She’s an absolute power boss—Shiv from Succession is shaking. Apparently, though, she already met Peter? At a hotel lobby in California? This will end in flames, I can already tell. It’s never good when you know the Bachelor beforehand. Either Peter will hate her or the other women will.

John Legend Is Appearing on This Is Us Season 4—and Chrissy Teigen Is Confused

During last night’s Golden Globes, NBC aired a teaser for new episodes of This Is Us and it featured a surprising face: John Legend.

The hit show about the Pearson family returns on January 14 and honestly, we expected some surprises and twists—such is the nature of the show. But if you had “John Legend as guest star” pegged as one of them, congrats, because we didn’t see that coming. Entertainment Weekly confirmed Legend’s appearance on the show, but no real details are known—other than the fact that he is sitting at a piano in the brief clip, indicating he may be playing himself.

The thing is, even his wife Chrissy Teigen is confused. A fan tweeted her, “Please tell us more about John on this is us.” Teigen replied, “I had no idea until now and still don’t get it? his song or himself?”

Music plays an important part in the show, especially for Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Rebecca (Mandy Moore). Both characters do currently live in L.A., where the real-life Legend and Teigen reside. So perhaps they come into contact with the famous singer and Voice judge in that way. But we shall just have to wait and see.

It was a big weekend in the Teigen/Legend house, as they also welcomed a new rescue puppy named Petey into the family. Teigen posted lots of adorable videos of the little guy with their kids, Luna and Miles—including a hilarious one where Luna calls her dad “John.”

“Welcome to the family, Petey! thank you @theellenshow and @wagmorpets for making us aware of this adorable little rescue family. this little guy grabbed our heart first and will hold onto it forever!” she wrote on Instagram.

New episodes of This Is Us begin January 14 at 9 P.M. ET on NBC. No specific date for Legend’s appearance has been announced.
