You Season 2: The Hidden Meaning Behind Love and Forty's Names

You season two spoilers ahead. Consider yourself warned.

Netflix dropped the second season of its hit show, You, the day after Christmas, and it would seem—based on internet conversations—that people consumed it almost immediately in a holiday marathon. But watching the show so quickly may have caused fans to miss a few Easter eggs.

The second season takes Joe (Penn Badgley) from New York to Los Angeles as he tries to hide from his not-so-dead ex-girlfriend, Candace, who knows the truth about his stalker-y, murderous ways. He’s assumed the new identity of Will and gets a job at a very L.A. market named Anavrin (Nirvana spelled backwards), owned by the very rich Quinn family.

The Quinn twins—Love and Forty—work at the store, and Joe/Will is quickly enmeshed in their lives and becomes obsessed with Love. Their names are, admittedly, pretty wild—James Scully, who plays Forty, admitted that to Glamour last month. But they each actually have special meanings: They’re both terms used to score a tennis match.

For the uninitiated: Each game in tennis is scored in a unique way. In fact, “love” is the term for “zero”—as in a game technically begins with a score of “love-love,” though you won’t often hear it worded that way. When someone scores the first point, the score becomes “15-love,” and if the other player continues to not win any point the score would become “30-love” and then…you guessed it, “forty-love.” It’s a weird system, which is perfect for this weird family.

So what you maybe thought were just wacky names rich people in L.A. would name their children are actually…tennis-related wacky names rich people in L.A. would name their children. We even see Love and Forty play tennis together, making this revelation all the more clever.

This latest nugget has us questioning what else we may have missed this season. Looks like we’ll have to watch it all over again as we wait for that elusive third season.

Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner Have Reportedly Trademarked Their Children's Names

Whether you like it or not, in 2019 it’s pretty much a Kardashian-Jenner world—and we’re all just living (and shopping) in it. And from the looks of a new report, the family dynasty is going to continue on with the next generation.

TMZ reports that Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner have filed documents to trademark the names of their children: North West, Saint West, Chicago West, True Thompson, and Stormi Webster. Jenner also filed to trademark “Stormiworld,” which was also the theme of the lavish first birthday party she recently threw for her daughter, as well as a play on Stormi’s dad Travis Scott’s hit album Astroworld.

TMZ reports that the documents weren’t specific about business strategy but that the trademarks could include clothing, toys, and skin care products. (No word on Kourtney Kardashian’s three kiddos with her former partner, Scott Disick or Rob Kardashian’s daughter Dream with his ex Blac Chyna.)

Frankly, this is probably one of the least surprising things the fam has ever done—did we think for one second that the Kardashian-Jenner dynasty was going to leave any potential stone unturned? But that’s not to say that anyone in the family is trying to profit off their kids: Trademarks can also protect them from someone else using their name in products and marketing.

Starting businesses has basically become the Kar-Jenner family business, what with the huge success of KKW Beauty, Kylie Cosmetics, and Good American—so there’s no reason to think that the next generation won’t follow suit. (Honestly, North could probably become the No. 1 star on YouTube right now if she wanted to launch a channel). Maybe Saint and True will follow in their fathers’ footsteps and end up in the music biz or the WNBA, respectively. And don’t forget: Kim and Kanye have their fourth on the way soon.

North, Saint, Chicago, True, and Stormi, your empires await.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Reportedly Have a 'Long List' of Baby Names

Now that the news of Meghan Markle‘s pregnancy is public knowledge, there’s one question on everyone’s minds: What are she and Prince Harry going to name their royal baby? As it turns out, they’ve already got quite a few options to choose from.

While riding the tram with a group of young adults on Thursday during Markle and Prince Harry’s official tour of Australia, the subject of baby names came up. When someone asked Markle if she’d picked out a name yet, she replied that they were still working on it, with the help of their friends and family, according to E! News. “We’ve been given a long list of names from everyone,” she said, and noted that she and Prince Harry are “going to sit down and have a look at them” before they start narrowing things down.

“She said that she hadn’t thought of one as it was still quite early,” one 12-year-old in attendance told reporters, per E!.

At another point during the royals’ day out in Melbourne, one proud parent introduced the royal couple to her daughter, Harriet, a name that Harry seemed to like—for pretty obvious reasons. “As soon as I introduced my daughter to Harry, he said, ‘That’s a great name,'” Harriet’s mom said, E! reports. “Maybe they will choose it for their own child, which would be fun.”

Though the royals haven’t picked out a name just yet, that hasn’t stopped the public from guessing what it might be. If the baby is a girl, oddsmakers are betting on Diana (after Harry’s late mother), Victoria, or Alice as the most likely options. However, Markle already has a gift for her future child that may hint at a completely different name. As previously reported, she’s been holding onto a Cartier Tank watch that’s engraved with the initials “M.M.” with the intention of passing it along to her daughter, whose name will, presumably, have to start with an M.

“I had it engraved on the back, ‘To M.M. From M.M,'” she told Hello! in 2016. “And I plan to give it to my daughter one day. That’s what makes pieces special, the connection you have to them.”

Theory Suggests Taylor Swift Could Have Been Revealing Her Single Names All Along

PHOTO: Carrie Davenport/TAS/Getty Images

Taylor Swift is always five steps ahead of her fans, and we’re struggling to keep up, even when she hides clues in plain sight.

The latest fan theory to come out of the Swiftie universe involves her Instagram captions, because that’s really all the information we have to go on right now (besides all the posts the singer likes on Tumblr). As someone at BuzzFeed first recognized, when Taylor announced the first single off of Reputation, “Look What You Made Me Do,” she also blatantly gave us a clue about the second single “… Ready For It?“—we just didn’t know it at the time.

When announcing “Look What You Made Me Do,” Taylor captioned her Instagram announcement, “…ready for it? New single #LookWhatYouMadeMeDo out now. Pre-order #reputation (link in bio) and find out about tickets and merch at taylorswift.com.” So, obviously, the name of the second song was revealed a little over a week later, the world re-read her Instagrams a little closer. Now, some social media users think the third track will be called “A Second Glance,” says Buzzfeed, after she wrote, “A second glance into #reputation…ready for it? Link in bio,” on Instagram to reveal her second single.

This is hardly the first fan theory stemming from Taylor’s new album. Fans have jumped on everything from Kanye West and Kim Kardashian shade to Beyoncé references to hidden squad mentions, not to mention those theories that she liked on Tumblr. Fans have dissected the new song and video within an inch of its life, and we’re still as confused as ever, TBH.

November 10 seriously can not come soon enough.

Here's the Inspiration Behind the Totally Normal Names of George and Amal Clooney's Twins

The celebrity world abounds with creative, modern, or totally out-there baby names—depending, of course, on your stance on the matter. Sometimes, however, new parents bless their A-list progeny with classic names: last year, Keri Russell and partner Matthew Rhys named their newborn son Sam, for example. Such is the case with George and Amal Clooney, who, 12 weeks ago, welcomed their twins, Alexander and Ella. And now, we know where the twins’ perfectly normal names came from—thanks to an interview George and pal/actor Matt Damon did with ET at the Venice Film Festival on Friday.

Apparently, he and Amal “just didn’t want to have really dumb names.” Fair enough.

“We figured these kids are going to be looked at a lot and watched and [have their] every move sort of judged, and we wanted them to at least have a break with the names,” George told ET. “So we looked for some sort of normal names. We didn’t have any great inspiration. It wasn’t Alexander the Great and Ella Fitzgerald.”

Damon asked if the couple’s son was named after Alexander Hamilton instead (so timely!).

“It was Alexander Hamilton,” Clooney said. (He was joking.)

He also spoke candidly about what it felt like the moment he became a father, and it’s too good not to share, to be honest:

“I suppose [the realest moment is] just the minute they came out,” Clooney told EW. “None of it is real until all of a sudden they’re standing there covered in slime and crying. You’re like, wait a minute, what is that? We were just two and now we’re four.”

Beyond the premiere of George’s new movie, Suburbicon, at the film festival—where Amal, by the way, looked gorgeous at her first red carpet since the babies—the couple has been staying busy donating $1 million to fight “violent extremism” in the U.S. and prepping to open a school for Syrian refugees. We can only imagine how cool those twins are going to grow up to be.

Jay Z Has Revealed the Meanings Behind Rumi and Sir Carter's Names

PHOTO: Instagram @beyonce

The world was forever changed when Beyoncé and Jay Z welcomed twins on June 14. We all waited, with varying levels of patience, to learn their names—eventually revealed to be Rumi and Sir Carter. We waited even longer to see the first photo of the twins, which was released when they were 1 month old. However, we’ve continued to wonder about where the inspiration behind the names Rumi and Sir came from—although hints and theories abounded, we haven’t had any official confirmation. Until now: Jay Z has finally spoken out about the meaning behind the twins’ names.

Thanks to Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles Lawson, we already had an idea of how Rumi got her name. Just after Bey revealed the first photo of her beybies, her mom posted an Instagram that seemed to imply that Rumi is named after the 13th-century Persian poet of the same name. The photo she posted featured a few stanzas from the poet’s work, and her caption read, “This is poetry by the 13 th century poet ‘Rumi’ it’s not only beautiful but logical ❤️ love number three ❤️Sometimes we are the reason we can’t find love!! We have to work on ourselves first to be whole❤️”

This week Jay Z confirmed our idea that Tina was giving us more than a poetry lesson when he went on the podcast Rap Radar to speak with hosts Elliot Wilson and Brian Miller. “Rumi is our favorite poet, so it was for our daughter,” he said.

Jay Z then went on to speak about the inspiration behind “Sir”:

“Sir was like, man, come out the gate. He carries himself like that. He just came out, like, Sir,” he said.

And there you have it: theories confirmed and curiosity satiated. But can we get more adorable pics, please?
