John Legend Is Appearing on This Is Us Season 4—and Chrissy Teigen Is Confused


During last night’s Golden Globes, NBC aired a teaser for new episodes of This Is Us and it featured a surprising face: John Legend.

The hit show about the Pearson family returns on January 14 and honestly, we expected some surprises and twists—such is the nature of the show. But if you had “John Legend as guest star” pegged as one of them, congrats, because we didn’t see that coming. Entertainment Weekly confirmed Legend’s appearance on the show, but no real details are known—other than the fact that he is sitting at a piano in the brief clip, indicating he may be playing himself.

The thing is, even his wife Chrissy Teigen is confused. A fan tweeted her, “Please tell us more about John on this is us.” Teigen replied, “I had no idea until now and still don’t get it? his song or himself?”

Music plays an important part in the show, especially for Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Rebecca (Mandy Moore). Both characters do currently live in L.A., where the real-life Legend and Teigen reside. So perhaps they come into contact with the famous singer and Voice judge in that way. But we shall just have to wait and see.

It was a big weekend in the Teigen/Legend house, as they also welcomed a new rescue puppy named Petey into the family. Teigen posted lots of adorable videos of the little guy with their kids, Luna and Miles—including a hilarious one where Luna calls her dad “John.”

“Welcome to the family, Petey! thank you @theellenshow and @wagmorpets for making us aware of this adorable little rescue family. this little guy grabbed our heart first and will hold onto it forever!” she wrote on Instagram.

New episodes of This Is Us begin January 14 at 9 P.M. ET on NBC. No specific date for Legend’s appearance has been announced.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner Went to Drake's New Year's Eve Party, and I'm Confused


Kendall Jenner confused me once last year when she posted a photo of herself fully awake but captioned it “I love naps,” and now she’s at it again. Her head-scratching action this time? Attending Drake’s New Year’s Eve party with sister Kylie Jenner, even though he’s infamously feuding with their brother-in-law, Kanye West.

Don’t know about that sitch? Here’s some quick background info: Kanye ignited his tumultuous relationship with Drake in mid-December when he posted a series of tweets accusing him of texting Kris Jenner and “taking food out [his] idol’s kids’ mouths.” What Kanye means by this is unclear, but we can assume he and Drake aren’t BFFs.

But that didn’t stop Kendall and Kylie from swinging by the “One Dance” rapper’s NYE bash at Delilah in Los Angeles. Check out a photo of the shindig, below. Do you see the woman in the neon green shirt? That’s Kendall! And the one with the blue wig? Yup, that’s Kylie.

And, for a little refresher, here are some of the charged tweets both Kanye and Kim wrote to Drake just a few weeks ago.

The kicker to all of this is that on the same night Kylie and Kendall attended this party, Kanye was literally going off on Drake for following Kim on Instagram. TMZ has all of those screen shots, as well as Kanye’s since-deleted tweet from New Year’s Day that read, “I love Drake 2019 we will all heal.” That’s a positive message and certainly suggests Drake and Kanye’s feud is ending—but still! It’s hilarious Kendall and Kylie seemingly had nothing else to do on New Year’s Eve but attend this party. The drama of it all!

And they’ve could’ve done so many other things, too—like eat small slices of pizza in ball gowns or stare at each other in silence. These activities—which, yes, Kendall and Kylie have both actually done—are far less dramatic than attending the party of their brother-in-law’s temporary Twitter nemesis. What does Kris Jenner think?!

Even Meghan Markle Is Confused by This Habit of Prince Harry’s


BBC is airing a new documentary all about Prince Charles, aptly titled Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70. However, in between all the tea about the future king of England are some other fun royal tidbits. At one point in the film, for example, Prince Harry reveals that Meghan Markle is a bit weirded out by one of his habits: turning off all the lights in their house or wherever they’re staying.

“My wife certainly goes, ‘Well, why turn the lights off? It’s dark,'” Prince Harry says in the doc. “I go, ‘We only need one light, we don’t need, like, six,’ and all of a sudden, it becomes a habit.”

On the one hand, Prince Harry’s methodology does make sense; using unnecessary lights wastes electricity. However, Markle brings up an excellent point too: It’s no fun sitting in the dark. Wherever you stand in this argument, it’s nice to know Markle and Prince Harry quarrel about humdrum things like this. The royals really are just like us.

It’s been a whirlwind few weeks for Markle and Prince Harry, who just ended their royal tour of Australia, New Zealand, Tonga, and Fiji. Right as they started, Kensington Palace revealed Markle is pregnant and due in spring 2019.

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019,” Kensington Palace posted on social media at the time. “Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”

Kendall Jenner Doesn't Know What a Nap Is, and Now I'm Confused


Kendall Jenner is doing a lot of things in her latest Instagram post. She’s sitting inside what looks like the richest bathroom on Earth, naked, with a towel around her head. She’s drinking wine. She has her knees contorted in a way that would send me to the emergency room if I attempted. A very uncomfortable-looking floral pillow is placed on her marble sink, its purpose unknown. Does Kendall lounge on that pillow? Is it just for decoration? Does she scream in it whenever Rob Kardashian re-gifts her Christmas presents? Who knows!

What Kendall isn’t doing in these two photos, however, is napping. You know about napping, right? It’s the third greatest activity of all time, only bested by “brunch” and “mindlessly watching old Friends episodes on Netflix.” Napping, for the uninitiated, is when you sleep in the middle of the day for a short period of time. It typically involves pillows, blankets, and probably a mattress or couch. Unless you’re some kind of witch, you can only do it when you’re unconscious. Naps are fun and cozy and one of the last good things we have in 2018.

I take a lot of naps. Catch me every Saturday between 1 P.M. and 6 P.M. napping. I’m basically an expert, which is why I’m confident that what Kendall is doing on Instagram isn’t napping. Why is it, then, that she captioned her post, “I love naps?”

Is Kendall confused, or does “napping” mean something completely different in the Kardashian-Jenner universe? Maybe Kendall, Kylie, Kim, Kourtney, and Khloé’s definition of “napping” is drinking wine in the shower. They do so much, after all (to name a few of their endeavors: reality TV shows , video games, songs called “Jam”). Maybe “quiet bathroom time with wine” is the closest thing they can get to actually sleeping.

If only Kendall knew what naps actually were, though. Who’s going to tell her about them? Kris Jenner? Scott Disick? Maybe Stormi Webster should! Babies know all about naps. Sleeping during the day is one of the few absolute joys we still have on this planet. I hate that Kendall is missing out. Just imagine how powerful she’d be if she napped like us mortals! Contrary to what the Kardashian-Jenners might believe, they’d actually get more done. Kendall would 100 percent write another sci-fi novel if she started napping. Do it for the Pulitzer, girl! We need you.

I'm Confused Why Maroon 5 Is Doing the Super Bowl Halftime Show and Jennifer Lopez Isn't


Two sources confirmed to Variety today that Maroon 5 is performing at the 2019 Super Bowl Halftime Show, and I’m just wondering if “Maroon 5” is a new way to spell “Jennifer Lopez.” Because there’s no way the NFL would deny the greatest living entertainer who hasn’t done the halftime show yet the opportunity to perform, right? Surely, the suits who make this decision are aware the Internet really wants to see Jennifer Lynn Lopez take the stage on that fateful night. The receipts are everywhere. (See below.)

I cannot fathom a scenario in which human beings would pass up the woman who just did this at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards in favor of Adam Levine. (No offense, Adam Levine. I’m sure you understand.) Oh, and did you know there are seven men in Maroon 5? So not only does their name promote a color that only looks good on 2004 Ford Explorers, it’s a straight-up lie! Sorry, but I just don’t trust them to entertain me on a night where I’m already lying to everyone about my interest in football. Is there anyone out there? Because it really is getting harder and harder to breathe.

But do you know who I trust implicitly? Jennifer Lopez. Jennifer Lopez has always had the country’s best interests at heart. Remember when she let James Corden text Leonardo DiCaprio off her phone? So patriotic. Or when she hosted a taco night in a bedazzled outfit? An American hero. And never forget the fact she’s singlehandedly responsible for getting everyone on board with Pitbull. She’s a miracle worker, and we don’t deserve her.

Actually, I take that back: We do deserve her—at the Super Bowl Halftime Show. That’s the only setting fitting enough for Lopez’s seismic talent, which continues to be ignored. Last year, we sat through Justin Timberlake performing in fringe camouflage.

Will Maroon 5 7 perform a spontaneous dance break set to Aretha Franklin’s “Respect?” No. Will they flip their long hair to Rihanna and DJ Khaled’s song “Wild Thoughts” just because they can? Surely not. Will they sing their smash hit “Jenny From the Block” in a newsboy cap? Negative. Do you know who would potentially (read: definitely) do all those things if she performed at halftime? Jennifer Lopez. And yet we’re sleeping on her again.

All jokes aside, Maroon 5 is a supremely talented band, and they’ll no-doubt put on a great halftime show. For all we know, Lopez might have been asked to perform and she turned down the gig (though she did say in February 2017 she’d love to do it if asked). It’s just laughable at this point that a performer of her caliber hasn’t been tapped to put on the greatest show on Earth. She’d definitely deliver.

Maybe Adam Levine & Friends will bring out Lopez for the last chunk of their show, like Katy Perry did with Missy Elliott in 2015. If they don’t, catch me watching Jennifer Lopez videos for six hours to lick my wounds. In fact, I’m about to do just that right now—and create a petition for only J.Lo to do the 2020 halftime show. Let’s get loud.
