Prince William Says Losing His Mother, Princess Diana, at a Young Age Was a 'Pain Like No Other'

When Princess Diana was tragically killed in a car accident in 1997, the world mourned. But her death had a profound effect on her two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, who were just 15 and 12, respectively, at the time.

In recent years, both the princes have opened up publicly about how they were affected by their mother’s death in their efforts to raise awareness about mental health. Now, in a preview clip for the BBC special A Royal Team Talk: Tackling Mental Health, which features a conversation with British soccer stars, William is more candid than ever. “I think when you are bereaved at a very young age, anytime really, but particularly at a young age—I can resonate closely to that—you feel a pain like no other pain,” he says.”And you know that in your life it’s going to be very difficult to come across something that is going to be an even worse pain than that.”

“It also brings you so close to all those other people out there who have been bereaved,” William continued. “So instantly, when you talk to someone else… You can almost see it in their eyes sometimes.” He wants people to feel more comfortable sharing their pain in hopes of being able to help one another. “There has to be a moment for that,” William says, referring to having that British “stiff upper lip.” “We’re not robots.”

Prince Harry also talked about feeling the loss of Diana after the birth of his first son, Archie, with Meghan Markle. “He said missing a mother is like missing some kind of security, how you need that as a son, and it falls away when you lose your mother,” Dennis van der Stroon said of his conversation with Harry during a recent Invictus Games event in the Netherlands. “He said he meets a lot of people in his work who have lost a mother, father, sister, brother, or relatives, and when he hears their story, as he heard my story, he said he doesn’t feel so alone.”

While the circumstances are definitely sad, it really is wonderful to see the princes talk so openly about their grieving process as a way to encourage transparency and honest conversations around mental health—and directly affect the lives of others.

Priyanka Chopra and Mindy Kaling Are Making a Movie Together, and Fans Are Losing It

Dream team Mindy Kaling and Priyanka Chopra are officially making a movie together—and it’s safe to say that fans are already getting hyped for it. Deadline announced that the as-yet-untitled comedy will take place in both America and India and “revolves around a big wedding in India and the ensuing culture clashes.” And the two aren’t only doing the behind-the-scenes producing, either—they’re reportedly both starring in it as well.

As Deadline reported on Friday morning, it was being called “Crazy Rich Asians meets My Big Fat Greek Wedding” as rights to it were being auctioned off. (Apparently more than a few big studios were trying to get in on it, too: Legendary, Sony, Netflix and Amazon Studios were all contenders, with Universal coming out the victor in the bid.)

Even more excitingly, Kaling and Dan Goor (co-creator of Brooklyn Nine-Nine) will be writing the script—and Kaling might even direct the movie.

Both Kaling and Chopra expressed their excitement about working together on their social media channels. “PROUD,” Chopra captioned a photo of the herself, Kaling, and Goor on Instagram. “My dream team is making a movie. Can’t wait for this one!????????? @priyankachopra #DanGoor @universalpictures,” Kaling wrote.

The actresses shared the good news on Twitter as well, where Chopra added, “Two women with a passion for telling good stories, just got the green light to THEIR story THEIR way. So proud of this incredible partnership with @mindykaling and @djgoor! We are about to show you what it means to be modern, global, and Indian. See you at the cinema!”

Fans were obviously excited to hear that Chopra and Kaling are pairing up—not only is it important for representation, but as Chopra mentioned, it’s a project that they get to do their way.

Lilly Singh, who will soon be the first South Asian woman to host a network late night show, simply wrote “DAMNNNNN ❤️❤️❤️.” Another fan tweeted, “I’m so grateful that you have single handedly brought so many Desi people to our screens in the last ten years or so! Even though I don’t know you, it makes me so happy to see your success, I feel like a didi?.”

Beyoncé Is Offering a Lifetime Supply of Tickets If You Go Vegan, and People Are Losing It

Beyoncé just gave everyone a huge incentive to eat lettuce. The music queen took to Instagram on Wednesday night (January 30) and revealed she’s offering the chance to win free tickets to her concerts for life if you go vegan. Yup, that’s right: If you want to see Bey from now until the end of time (eh?), all you have to do is give up meat. And dairy. And all the other delicious foods vegans don’t eat. But there’s a silver lining, people: Beyoncé. For. Life.

The giveaway is happening through The Greenprint Project, which is dedicated to showing you how eating just one plant-based meal a day can help the environment. “What is your Greenprint? Click the link in my bio for a chance to win tickets to any JAY and/or my shows for life,” Beyoncé wrote on Instagram, linking to the sweepstakes.

In all seriousness, there’s no logical way Greenprint can actually check to see if you’re vegan should you win this contest—but that’s not stopping people from metaphorically throwing out all the meat in their freezers. When Beyoncé wants something, you just do it. I don’t make up the rules.

Check out a few folks prepared to give up all the cheese for Queen B:

Beyoncé’s partnership with this project shouldn’t come as a surprise. After several buzzy teasers, she infamously “revealed” on Good Morning America in 2015 that she’d adopted a vegan lifestyle.

“This is something I have to share with everyone,” she said at the time. “I am not naturally the thinnest woman. I have curves. I’m proud of my curves, and I have struggled since a young age with diets. And finding something that actually works, that actually keeps the weight off, has been difficult for me…. I felt like my skin was really firm, a lot tighter than when I deprived myself of food and got the weight off fast. And the weight stayed off.”

What Khloé Kardashian Just Said About Losing Weight Is Upsetting People

Khloé Kardashian has caught some heat in the past for her comments about weight. Last March, she published an article to her app about how to look “thin AF” in photos, which didn’t go over well with people. Then, a few months later, both she and Kendall Jenner faced backlash for raving about how “skinny” their sister Kim looked at an event. “She’s anorexic here,” Khloé said, referring to Kim’s waist, completely meaning it as a compliment. Oof.

Now social media users are taking Khloé to task for a recent post about losing weight. Earlier this week, the reality star wrote on Instagram Stories two things she thinks girls want: to “lose weight” and to “eat.”

Instagram

Naturally, it didn’t take long for the criticism to pour in. The Good Place actress Jameela Jamil, who has spoken out repeatedly about the need to stop talking about weight in the media, took a screen shot of Khloé’s post and tweeted late Wednesday night, “This makes me sad.”

She later clarified that she wasn’t critiquing Khloé specifically but “the fat-shaming media” in general.

But Jamil wasn’t the only one upset by the problematic post. On Twitter, fed up users called out Khloé for sending a potentially toxic message to her millions of followers. “It’s actually really sad that so many girls follow Khloe and they’re all being told that it is normal for all of them to want to lose weight, rather than it being normal for all of them to be happy with their bodies,” one person wrote on Twitter. “Eating and losing weight are not mutually exclusive. Thinking they are is eating disorder behavior,” tweeted another.

Check out some more reactions to Khloé’s comment, below. (A few come to her defense.)

Khloé hasn’t responded to the backlash yet, but we’ll update this post when and if she does.

If you or someone you know is struggling with disordered eating, please call the NEDA helpline at 800-931-2237 or visit its website.

People Are Losing It Over This Woman Using a Fake Accent on 'The Bachelor'

The Bachelor hasn’t even started yet, but one contestant already has the Internet’s heart: Brianna, or “Bri” for short. The model, whose worst dating fear is “farting too loudly” (relatable), adopted a fake Australian accent for her first meeting with suitor Colton Underwood. 2019 is officially the year of the scam, people, and Bri is the mascot.

Here’s what happened: In a teaser for the Bachelor‘s first episode, we see Bri exit her limousine to hug Colton for the first time. She’s fully committing to this Australian accent and Colton asks her, “Where are you from?”

That’s when the brilliance really jumps out. “The accent, it’s Australian,” Bri says. “I was hoping you’re kinda a sucker for accents. I didn’t know what you’d think about it.” Colton’s response? “I love it.”

Notice how Bri technically doesn’t lie here. All she says is that the accent is Australian, not that she is. “I’m not really Australian,” Bri later says in an interview. “But you have to do what you can to stand out.”

Every single person who’s ever attempted a fake accent is shaking. Ross Geller in that Friends episode where he pretends to be British? Canceled. Kristen Wiig’s rendition of Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones? Never heard of it. Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, and Margot Robbie are stunned!

Watch Bri’s masterful plan unfold for yourself, below:

Naturally, people on Twitter are living for this deception. “I might watch The Bachelor for the first time ever just to see how this unfolds,” one person tweeted, but be warned: Once you join Bachelor Nation, there’s no going back.

Check out some more reactions, below:

The Bachelor returns this Monday, January 7 at 8 P.M. ET on ABC.

Cardi B Says She's 'Very Depressed' That She Can't Stop Losing Weight Since Giving Birth

Cardi B recently opened up about some post-pregnancy body changes she’s struggling with. On Thursday, November 15, the Bronx-born rapper went on Instagram Live and shared that she’s been “very depressed” because she’s lost so much weight since the birth of her daughter, Kulture, this July.

“I’ve been very depressed because I cannot stop losing weight,” Cardi said in the video. “And it’s so crazy because when I first gave birth, I did everything to lose my baby weight. I was drinking Teami so it could curb my appetite and now that I lost all the baby weight in my stomach and in my arms and in my face, now I want to gain weight, but now I can’t gain weight because I have a terrible appetite. I can literally go 24 hours without eating.”

She went on to add that part of this discomfort with her weight loss has to do with her past. “I used to look too skinny as a teenager, and I used to hate it and I hate it now,” she said. “It’s been really depressing me, making me sad.”

It’s not the first time Cardi has spoken candidly about how she’s dealing with motherhood. Earlier this year, she dropped out of a high-profile tour alongside Bruno Mars, citing her new baby as the reason. “I also thought that I’d be able to bring [Kulture Kiari] with me on tour,” she explained. “But I think I underestimated this whole mommy thing.”

Still, learning to balance her baby and her career hasn’t stopped Cardi from continuing to dominate the music industry. Her first performance after giving birth stole the show at the 2018 AMAs, and she even dropped a few bars on an explosive new song that features Selena Gomez. She also just landed a role on Netflix’s upcoming hip hop competition series and launched a collection with Fashion Nova.

Cardi may be figuring some things out still, but she’s got her career on lock.
