Ariana Grande Has Way Shorter Hair Now, and It's Gorgeous

In a beauty landscape where trends change as quickly as you can refresh your Instagram feed, we’ve come to rely on a few celebrity staples: winged eyeliner from Taylor Swift, nude lips on Meghan Markle, and until today…Ariana Grande‘s long, high ponytail.

Honestly is there a famous hairstyle more connected to a person than Grande and her pony right now? Of course, we’ve seen her wear her long hair down and in a top knot, but the singer’s latest Instagram post showed off a new look that we were not expecting. Is that a lob we see, AG?

Grande posted to Instagram and Twitter showing off a decidedly shorter cut with the caption, “this filter took my eyebrows away but i promise they’re there,” so she’s obviously got beauty on her mind. But brows are not the hair we currently want to discuss.

Did she simply take out her extensions to give her own hair a breather? Is this a post-Pete breakup chop? Will she keep it this way or is the ponytail coming back or is she saying ‘thank u, next’ to her signature style? There are so many questions. Given how social media savvy Grande is, she had to know that she was starting a serious conversation.

Fans obviously reacted strongly. “Keep this hair girl omfg you look so good,” one tweeted. While another had to do a double take, “WAIT OMG I JUST REALISED THAT YOU CUT YOUR HAIR.” Another took it next level writing, “Listen. @ArianaGrande chopped her hair off. This is not just a new chapter in her life but in all of our lives.”

Whatever is going on, it looks fantastic and we want to see shots from 100 more angles. Please.

Prince Harry Took This Gorgeous Photo of Meghan Markle During the Royal Tour

Hopefully by now, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have thrown on their comfy pants and are eating takeout on the couch while catching up on all the shows they missed during their 16-day royal tour of Australia, Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand. They’ve certainly earned a break—though they are expected to appear with the rest of the royal family on Remembrance Day on November 11.

The tour, of course, was well-documented by media and photojournalists traveling with the newlyweds. But royals aren’t so different from the rest us sometimes—they, too, like to snap their own photos of special moments. Case in point: This morning, November 1, Kensington Palace posted a very sweet photo of Markle standing among the giant Redwoods in Rotorua. And the photo credit? The Duke of Sussex.

“A message from The Duke and Duchess of Sussex: Thank you New Zealand for the most wonderful last week of our tour. It has been a privilege to meet so many friendly Kiwis,” the post’s caption says. “Australia, Fiji, Tonga and NZ – we leave feeling inspired and reminded of how every single one of us can make a difference. ‘The rain that refreshes the parched ground, is made up of single drops’ – Kate Sheppard #commonwealth ???????? ? The Duke of Sussex”

It’s a casual, candid moment that further proves the Sussexes are the most relatable of royals. They commute on the train! They keep each other dry in the rain! They laugh so hard they cry!

This isn’t the first time the royals have shown off their photography skills, though. Earlier in the tour, Meghan Markle posted her own image to the Kensington Palace account:

And Harry and Meghan’s sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, is often cited as the photographer of many of the adorable shots of her children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—including the one below:

We certainly hope the Duke and Duchess plan on framing Prince Harry’s latest work. It’d make a great gift for Baby Sussex someday, no?

Meghan Markle Closed Out the Invictus Games in a Gorgeous Antonio Berardi Tuxedo Dress

Meghan Markle‘s first royal tour is coming to an end, so naturally she’s been winding things down with style. On Saturday, she and Prince Harry attended the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games in Sydney, and Markle took a moment to give a heartfelt speech while wearing an elegant, olive green Antonio Berardi tuxedo dress.

Speaking to an audience of 12,000 people at Qudos Bank Arena, Markle looked effortlessly chic in the halterneck tuxedo dress, which just so happened to fall in line with one her favorite silhouettes (she wore a similar style back in August, when she and Prince Harry attended a special charity performance of the musical Hamilton). She finished off the look with a pair of peachy-tan Aquazurra heels and a red poppy pin, which is a sign of support for those who have served in the Armed Forces and their families.

The Invictus Games are a international adaptive sporting event that Markle’s husband Prince Harry founded four years ago. During the weeklong games, wounded, sick, or injured armed services members and veterans take place in a variety of sports competitions designed to empower and inspire.

In her remarks Saturday night, Markle talked about how the Invictus Games have evolved and shared her own experiences visiting troops in the past.

“In traveling to these military bases, I was given a very special glimpse into the lives of those who serve our countries. I was able to see the unshakeable bond between servicemen and -women on the ground together, but at the same time to feel the palpable longing for family and friends while deployed. Once home, the need for that anchor of support from loved ones, especially given how much it accelerates recovery and rehabilitation is immeasurable,” she said. “I’ve been reminded of those memories here. During this year’s Games in Sydney, I’ve witnessed the most amazing support networks that surround competitors, and I’ve had the privilege of meeting several of these family and friends.”

Her remarks at the ceremony marked her second big speech of the royal tour: She’d given her first at the University of the South Pacific in Fiji this week, discussing the importance of empowering women and girls through education.

The Invictus Games’ closing ceremony means the 16-day royal tour is almost finished, too. It’s been a whirlwind for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who have traveled to Australia, Fiji, and Tonga so far, and even included a surprise announcement that their first child is on the way. They’re heading to New Zealand next—and hopefully getting some much-needed rest afterwards.

The Swatches for Urban Decay's Naked Cherry Palette Are Drop-Dead Gorgeous

It’s going to take time to mourn the loss of the one and (formerly) only Urban Decay Naked Palette. The original launched eight years ago, and brought with it a whirlwind of copycat neutral palettes that never quite nailed its perfect mix of mattes and shimmers. And so we pour one out for the memories, thank it for its service, and walk into the future with the promise of a brand-new Naked Palette here to fill the rectangle-shaped hole in our hearts. Introducing: the Naked Cherry Palette.

News of the palette leaked early last week, but now, we’ve finally got an idea of exactly how the colors look on. Like Naked Heat, which launched last year, Naked Cherry is another play off the red spectrum and it’s ability to create both subdued and statement looks. But where Heat leans more rustic and coppery, Cherry falls more into the champagne, red, and black cherry range.

If you’ve been in the Urban Decay palette world for a minute now, you might also remember that the Naked3 palette exists—the brand’s reigning champ of pink palettes. We’re happy to report that it’s significantly different from that too. Where the Naked3 has brownish pinks and plums covered, Cherry leans into peach on the lighter end, and reddish purples on the darker. The single could-be crossover is the light, muted plum Feelz, but the surrounding shades give it enough of a spin to avoid feeling repetitive.

The brand hasn’t released the palette’s pricing or launch date yet, but scroll on for up-close photos and swatches. Summer may be coming to a close (and know those words are delivered through the gritted teeth of full denial), but in this, we’ll be holding onto the vibe well through the fall.

Meghan Markle Wore a Gorgeous Club Monaco Dress on Her Birthday—and It's Still in Stock

On Saturday, Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, celebrated her 37th birthday. It was quite the day, too: She took time from her own celebration to instead attend the wedding of Prince Harry’s good friend, Charlie van Straubenzee. While Prince Harry was reportedly performing his usher duties—returning the favor from his own wedding to Markle, for which van Straubenzee was an usher—she was attending as a guest, choosing to wear an incredible Club Monaco dress for the occasion. The best part? It’s still in stock.

Markle’s Shoanah shirtdress featured pink, green, black, and white color blocking on the delicately pleated skirt. According to People, Meghan accessorized her outfit with a fascinator by Philip Treacy, a pair of black pumps adorned with bows by Aquazzura, and a knotted belt and a clutch by Kayu Design.

It’s not the first time Markle’s worn Club Monaco: In January, she wore a mid-length burgundy velvet dress by the brand for the Queen’s private Christmas party.

Although this dress clocks in at $328—which isn’t by any means cheap—it’s way less than that famous $97,000 Ralph & Russo couture gown she wore for her engagement photos—or the $115,000 bespoke Givenchy wedding gown.

If you want in on Meghan’s royal style you better click over to Club Monaco’s site stat. After all, Meghan’s outfits tend to sell out quickly: In December, Meghan helped Strathberry, a luxury bag label, sell out one of its designs—its Tricolor Midi Tote—in less than 11 minutes.
