Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez's Fourth of July Celebration Was an Adorable Family Affair

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez continued to cement their status as an Instagram power couple over the Fourth of July holiday, and this time, the whole family got involved. The result? Some pretty adorable pics of Lopez-Rodriguez bunch celebrating the holiday.

A-Rod is not only a pro at being an Instagram husband, he’s also a doting Instagram dad. The former Yankees star shared an adorable photo of himself, Lopez, and their four children: Max and Emme, J. Lo’s twins from her marriage to Marc Anthony; and Ella and Natasha, his daughters from a previous marriage. “Today, we all celebrate the amazing freedoms we have as Americans. From our family to yours, have a happy and safe #July4th holiday everyone! ??,” he wrote in the caption.

“He [Rodriguez] loves taking pictures and documenting the moment,” Lopez told People recently. And back in 2017, she offered a more comprehensive rundown of A-Rod’s best qualities, telling Extra, “He’s a loving father. He’s a generous human being with his family, with his friends, with me. He’s caring and sweet and capable and responsible and just all the beautiful things you would want a man to be.”

But he’s not above taking advice from his kids when it comes to the ‘gram. “My coaches are my girls—they’re my biggest critics,” he told People. “I know immediately if I posted something dorky, because both of the girls start blowing me up. They’re like, ‘Dad take that down, we’re teenagers. We’re going to be ragged on at school.’ We have fun with it, but they know best because that’s more their strength.”

The couple doesn’t shy away from letting the public in on their private lives, sharing videos of themselves working out together and partaking in cute family moments. When they got engaged in March, they made the big announcement—and showed off Lopez’s gorgeous ring—on Instagram first.

The two are set to be married, although pretty much all the details are TBD on that front, including the date. “We haven’t started planning yet. You know, we just got engaged!” she said. “Then right afterwards we started working right away, and we’re working the rest of the year, so I don’t know what’s going to happen. We haven’t decided if we’re going to squeeze it in somewhere or we’re going to wait.” All we can say is, we can’t wait to see the wedding pics.

The USWNT World Cup Team is Ready to Win Their Fourth Title

Adds defender Kelley O’Hara, 30, who’s making her third World Cup appearance this summer: “At the end of the day, we’re all playing soccer because we love it and we’re good at it and it’s something that we’re passionate about. But I do think that it’s important to understand that we have a responsibility. We are in a place where we can impact the game and impact society—this team has always done a great job of balancing those two things.”

The balance isn’t always easy. In March 2016, five of the team’s most recognizable players—Hope Solo, Carli Lloyd, Alex Morgan, Becky Sauerbrunn, and Megan Rapinoe—filed an official complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission alleging that the U.S. Soccer Federation paid women “substantially less” than men in the sport. Fresh off their World Cup win, they found support: Two months later the U.S. Senate came together to unanimously pass a bipartisan resolution supporting the women and asking the Federation to grant the players equal pay. The resolution was nonbinding, but the players got one step closer to victory regardless. In Feb 2019 the EEOC sent a “right to sue” letter to the team, so this March—on International Women’s Day—that’s exactly what they did. The entire team sued the U.S. Soccer Federation for gender discrimination.

It’s easy to see why they’re frustrated. The women’s team handily outperforms the men’s: They’re ranked significantly higher, hold more World Cup titles and Olympic medals (four golds), draw bigger TV audiences, and since their 2015 win, have generated more money for U.S. Soccer. (Meanwhile the U.S. men’s team failed to even qualify for the 2018 World Cup.) Still, they’re paid significantly less—some players make just 38 percent of what their male counterparts make, according to the lawsuit. “Right now the structure is set up so that our counterparts on the men’s national team have the opportunity to make so much more money,” says Press. When the men’s team qualified for the 1990 World Cup, each player got a $10,000 bonus; when the women’s team earned the same honor a year later, they reportedly got a T-shirt.

Things haven’t improved much. For the last Women’s World Cup in 2015, FIFA, the international governing body of the sport, offered the winning team $2 million in prize money. The winning men’s team had been paid $35 million—17.5 times more—in the men’s World Cup a year earlier. (The Federation maintains that it hasn’t discriminated against the women’s team, and that the men and women players have fundamentally different jobs, team organizations, and compensation setups.)

Some critics point out the USWNT is among the most well-funded women’s sports programs in the world. But being the highest paid woman at your company who’s still making less than men at your level isn’t equality. “We’re very grateful for what we have, but we’re definitely demanding what we deserve,” says forward Alex Morgan, 29. “My hope is that the next generation will be able to have [total equality]—it will just be a given.” (To help make it a reality, Secret recruited Morgan to launch the brand’s Equal Pay for All campaign, pledging $100,000 to Girls Leading Girls.)

Pissing off the powers that be when they are in some of the most crucial months of their careers is risky for these players—but they aren’t backing down. “It’s part of our job to do this,” says Lloyd. “It’s not something that is comfortable, but in order to get what you deserve, you have to be a little uncomfortable.”

Kim Kardashian Just Revealed the Name of Her Fourth Child—And It's Adorable

On May 10, Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West welcomed their fourth child, via surrogate. Upon his arrival Kardashian tweeted, “He’s here and he’s perfect.” Now, a week later, Kardashian West has revealed the name of her new son: Psalm West.

In true Kardashian style, the reality star shared her baby’s name on Instagram. Kardashian West posted a screenshot of a text from her husband that read, “Beautiful Mother’s Day. With the arrival of our fourth child. We are blessed beyond measure. We have everything we need.” The photo was simply captioned, “Psalm West.”

The West’s are known for their unique baby names (along with the rest of the Kardashian clan.) But the name Psalm is in keeping with the biblical theme they drew from to name their older son, Saint West, 3. Psalm also joins his older sisters. North West, 5, and Chicago West, 1, whose names both come from a more geographic origin. And while fans were here for baby West’s name, many took to Twitter to express their confusion over how to properly pronounce it.

According to People the West’s long had a name in mind for their son, “but wanted to meet the baby before they decided.” Kardashian West also told Jimmy Kimmel, “I usually go about three or four days nameless until I feel like it really connects with the baby.”

And while Psalm might have the name most similar to Saint, Kardashian West has made it very clear that he’s the most like his sister Chicago. She called Psalm, “Chicago’s twin.” “I’m sure he will change a lot but now he looks just like her,” she wrote. But from what we can tell of Kardashian West’s photos, Psalm looks like a happy and healthy newborn.

Congratulations to the Kardashian West clan. Bible, we think this is your cutest baby name yet.

Kim Kardashian Just Confirmed She's Having a Fourth Child

Earlier this month news broke that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are expecting their fourth child via surrogate, and now Kim’s confirmed this herself. In a new interview with Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Kim revealed baby number four is on the way—and it’s a boy.

“We are [expecting another child],” Kim told host Andy Cohen with her sisters, Kourtney and Khloé, by her side. “Yes.”

Kim said she and Kanye do have a due date, and that it’s “sometime soon.” However, she didn’t offer any more details beyond that.

“It’s out there,” Kim continued, referring to the reports about her fourth child. “I got drunk at our Christmas Eve party, and I told some people, and I can’t remember who I told because I never get drunk.” Talk about a relatable holiday party moment!

Watch Kim reveal all this for yourself, below:

Kim and Kanye welcomed their third child, Chicago, via surrogate in January 2018. After giving birth to her second child naturally, Kim began suffering from placenta accreta, a condition in which the placenta is bound to the uterine wall. She decided after this to explore surrogacy as an option for expanding her family.

“You know, it is really different,” Kim told Entertainment Tonight about the differences between surrogacy and carrying a child herself. “Anyone that says or thinks it is just the easy way out is just completely wrong. I think it is so much harder to go through it this way, because you are not really in control. And you know, obviously you pick someone that you completely trust and that you have a good bond and relationship with, but it is still…knowing that I was able to carry my first two babies and not, you know, my baby now, it’s hard for me. So it’s definitely a harder experience than I anticipated just in the control area.”

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Are Reportedly Expecting Their Fourth Child

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are reportedly expecting their fourth child via surrogate, Us Weekly reports.

The couple hasn’t confirmed the news yet themselves, but rumors of them wanting a fourth child have been swirling around for months. In August, Us Weekly reported Kardashian and West had one embryo left, a male. If true, this means their baby-to-be is a boy. According to Us Weekly, he’s due in “very early May.”

Kardashian and West used a surrogate to welcome their third child, a daughter named Chicago, in January 2018. After her second natural pregnancy, Kardashian began suffering from placenta accreta, a condition in which the placenta and uterine wall bind too tightly. It was after this she decided to explore surrogacy as an option for having more children.

“My doctor had to stick his entire arm in me and detach the placenta with his hand, scraping it away from my uterus with his fingernails,” Kardashian wrote in her blog about the condition. “My mom was crying; she had never seen anything like this before. My delivery was fairly easy, but then going through that—it was the most painful experience of my life! They gave me a second epidural but we were racing against time, so I just had to deal.”

In November 2017, she opened up about the differences between having a child naturally and via surrogate. “You know, it is really different,” Kardashian told Entertainment Tonight. “Anyone that says or thinks it is just the easy way out is just completely wrong. I think it is so much harder to go through it this way, because you are not really in control. And, you know, obviously you pick someone that you completely trust and that you have a good bond and relationship with, but it is still…knowing that I was able to carry my first two babies and not, you know, my baby now, it’s hard for me. So it’s definitely a harder experience than I anticipated just in the control area.”

Congrats, Kimye! We’ll update this post if and win the couple confirms this news.

Melania Trump Wore a Red, White, and Blue Ralph Lauren Dress for the Fourth of July

Melania Trump knew all eyes would be on her when it came to dressing for the Fourth of July—all the more so after a high-profile faux pas involving a certain green military jacket worn to visit migrant children and emblazoned with the phrase “I really don’t care, do u?” on the back. This, along with a series of other much-discussed moments, made choosing her outfit for the Fourth of July—a holiday as American as it gets—weighted with extra significance.

The President and the First Lady hosted a picnic for military families on the White House lawn. Mrs. Trump went with the $2,490, blue-and-white Rivera gingham Ralph Lauren evening dress—who knew gingham could go evening?—anchored by a red, bow-embellished Alexander McQueen belt. Ralph Lauren is traditionally super American (the label has outfitted Olympians), so as far as that vein of criticism could go, the dress is practically, shall we say, unimpeachable. (Plus, it had pockets!)

As for the rest of her outfit, there is the on-sale $537 belt from Alexander McQueen, the British-based line. (And, well, if it weren’t for those pesky Brits, one could argue wouldn’t have gone off and started a fight for independence, nor, therefore had a Fourth of July to commemorate in the first place.)

Her shoes were—wait for it—flats (very picnic appropriate), and were reportedly from French shoe icon Christian Louboutin. So let’s leave it at that: It was the Fourth of July; FLOTUS wore a dress by an American designer. She got this one spot on.
