Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Just Shared Their Final Instagram Post


Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have just about waved farewell to every aspect of their senior royal duties. They’ve wrapped up their final engagements and moved across the pond. Now they’re saying goodbye to one last tether: their Sussex Royal Instagram account. (This, no doubt, is probably because of restrictions they now have on using the word royal in their professional endeavors.)

On March 30, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex (yes, those are still their titles, but you can just call him Harry) posted their final message on to IG. It’s worth noting that the comments have been disabled, likely with the knowledge that fans would have a very strong reaction.

“As we can all feel, the world at this moment seems extraordinarily fragile,” the message, directly from the duke and duchess, began. “Yet we are confident that every human being has the potential and opportunity to make a difference—as seen now across the globe, in our families, our communities and those on the front line—together we can lift each other up to realize the fullness of that promise. What’s most important right now is the health and well-being of everyone across the globe and finding solutions for the many issues that have presented themselves as a result of this pandemic.”

“As we all find the part we are to play in this global shift and changing of habits, we are focusing this new chapter to understand how we can best contribute,” they continued. “While you may not see us here, the work continues.”

They closed the statement by thanking their followers and promising they will be back in a new way, shortly. Of course, they didn’t say exactly when or how: “Thank you to this community—for the support, the inspiration, and the shared commitment to the good in the world. We look forward to reconnecting with you soon. You’ve been great. Until then, please take good care of yourselves, and of one another.” The couple signed the post simply, “Harry and Meghan.”

And for those of you, like Donald Trump, wondering what the couple’s move to Los Angeles means for the United States, they will not be requesting any special treatment from the U.S. government for security purposes.

“A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex says they have no plans to ask the U.S. government for security resources,” royals correspondent Rhiannon Millshave tweeted on March 29. “Privately funded security arrangements have been made.”

Looks like they’re just your friendly, neighborhood Meghan and Harry now.

Fans Have a Theory About That Final Twist in 'You' Season 2


This post contains spoilers for You season 2—consider yourself warned.

If you’re anything like me, you devoured the second season of You on Netflix immediately upon its release on December 26. Honestly, I regret nothing. The show is nothing if not wildly entertaining—and also just generally wild. The second season brought Joe (Penn Badgley) to Los Angeles, where he goes by “Will” and is trying to hide from his not-so-dead ex Candace. Of course, it doesn’t take long before he meets the next object of his obsession, a woman literally named Love.

The twists and turns of the plot are fast and furious which is one of the shows many delights. But (and again, spoilers ahead!) most of us didn’t peg Love for being a totally murderous human who has no problem slitting throats to protect people in her life. That wasn’t the final surprise, however. In the final scenes, we see Joe and a pregnant Love moving into an idyllic-looking house.

Has Joe finally changed now that he’s settling with someone more like him? LOL, of course not. Joe peers through the fence and spots a neighbor sitting poolside reading Kafka, Jane Austen, and Aldous Huxley. “This is just the beginning, because this is where I had to be. Exactly where I had to be to meet you. There you were with your books and your sunshine. So close, but worlds away. I will figure out a way: a way to get to you. See you soon, neighbor,” Joe narrates.

But who is she?

Well, the prominent fan theory on the internet at the moment is that the woman is Joe’s mom. We see her in flashbacks throughout the season where she leaves him to go off with various men and is also the victim of an abusive husband. “The neighbor is probably his mom. Also, Love is crazy. Might be crazier than Joe. She gave me Gone Girl vibes,” one person tweeted. “Why are some people confused about the last scene? that woman/neighbor was definitely joe’s mom. the hands were a dead give away… #YouNetflix,” another wrote.

Though a few people are still holding out hope that somehow Beck is still alive. Or perhaps it really will just be a new woman to stalk.

A third season of You has not been confirmed by Netflix, but it seems pretty likely. Badgley recently mentioned a new season in an interview, saying, “You know, dare I say, in the third season—oh, god!” before switching gears. Hopefully we’ll get an official announcement soon—until then, we’re all about internet theorizing.

The ‘Orange Is the New Black’ Cast on the Netflix Series’ Final Season and Legacy


This article contains spoilers about the seventh—and final—season of Orange Is the New Black, now streaming on Netflix.

Adrienne C. Moore (Cindy Hayes, the inmate who converts to Judaism in season three) is in Atlanta for her 20-year high school reunion when she calls. “I’ve been to past reunions since the advent of Orange Is the New Black, and one thing I love about my friends is they know Adrienne,” she tells Glamour. They may occasionally blurt out that she’s on a show, she concedes, but “they’re Atlanta folks, and Atlanta folks are very down-to-earth kind of people.”

Like so many members of the sprawling Orange ensemble, Moore was a relative unknown when she was cast on the series. She was booking theater roles, commercials, and guest spots in New York, sure, but breakout opportunities for women, let alone women of color, were rare. Nobody knew who she was.

“This industry is hard,” says Laura Gómez (Blanca Flores, who thought she was being released from Litchfield only to be sent to an immigration facility). “You’re put in a box.” She auditioned for Orange while she was writing and directing a short film at New York University; by that point, she remembers, “I was considering maybe going to Spain to turn things around. I don’t know that I was about to quit acting, but I was thinking of ways to quit the torture that I was experiencing here.”

Selenis Leyva (Gloria Mendoza, who at times was head cook and the leader of the prison’s Spanish Harlem) shares a similar story. “I started acting at the age of 18,” she says. “I did a lot of guest roles, theater—sometimes it was free and sometimes it was as if it was free. You name it.” She was two decades into her career and on the verge of dropping out when she was tapped to play Gloria. “Literally, I said, ‘I’m done with acting,’” she recalls. “And then Orange popped up.”

“What the show did for so many of us, if not all of us, was open or reopen big doors,” Gómez says. “It put us on the map.”

When Orange premiered in 2013, there was some skepticism about whether it would sugarcoat prison. After all, the series is based on a memoir by Piper Kerman—a white middle-class Smith graduate—and stars Taylor Schilling as the fish-out-of-water inmate. But as creator Jenji Kohan explained from the outset, Piper was her “Trojan horse”: a stock blond that gave entrée into a more expansive world, one where women of all colors, shapes, sexual orientations, and ages coexisted. Orange wasn’t a Pollyanna prison story, and Kohan wasn’t making TV as usual.

The 'Game of Thrones' Cast Got Super-Candid About the Final Season's Backlash

Can you believe it’s actually only been two months since HBO aired the final episode of Game of Thrones?

It might feel like a lifetime since the finale wrapped up, deciding the fate of the show’s (remaining) characters: Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) took over ruling Westeros while Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) became Queen in the North, and the youngest Stark, Arya (Maisie Williams), took off on a ship for parts unknown. But not everyone was pleased with the series finale—or the entirety of the eighth season—and the cast of the hit show hasn’t forgotten the backlash. Fans were upset with everything from Cersei and Jamie’s final moments and Dany’s turn as the Mad Queen to the choice of who took the Iron Throne and Jon’s banishment to the Wall.

There was even a fan petition requesting that showrunners reshoot the final season, which Turner (and Riverdale actress, Lili Reinhart) spoke out against earlier this year. “All of these petitions and things like that—I think it’s disrespectful to the crew, and the writers, and the filmmakers who have worked tirelessly over 10 years, and for 11 months shooting the last season,” Turner told the New York Times in May. “Like, 50-something night shoots. So many people worked so, so hard on it, and for people to just rubbish it because it’s not what they want to see is just disrespectful.”

Now some of her other cast members are sounding off, as well. “It was surprising the level of absurdity of the the online petition,” Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (who played Jamie Lannister) said at Comic-Con on Friday, per Vulture. “Of course HBO’s going to change the whole thing. Because that’s the power of the internet! Every season, we had huge controversies. From Ned Stark being killed—‘I’m never going to watch that piece of shit show again!’ And then there was the Red Wedding. And obviously, the end. “

“I feel so lucky to have met so may fans of the show, and to realize this show has brought so many people together. Watching it, loving it,” he continued. “So obviously, It comes to an end, it’s going to piss you off no matter what. It’s the end! But at the end of the day, it’s absolutely fine. If you hated the ending, if you loved it, that’s great. Just don’t call people names.”

Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton Wore the Chicest Outfits to the Wimbledon Women's Final


One year after their first solo outing as sisters-in-law, Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton attended their annual friend date at Wimbledon on Saturday, July 13. And just like last year’s tennis final, the two royals wore excellent outfits for the occasion.

Duchess Meghan and Duchess Kate joined the crowd of spectators at the Wimbledon Single Ladies’ Final at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London today, to watch Markle’s pal Serena Williams face off against Germany’s Angelique Kerber from the royal box. Middleton chose a green sheath dress with puff sleeves and gold buttons, and Markle wore a white button-down tucked into an accordion skirt.

While the duchesses watched the match, their fans tracked down the designers behind their outfits. Middleton’s dress was by Dolce & Gabbana, and although Markle’s top hasn’t been ID’d yet, her look includes a Hugo Boss skirt with navy brushstrokes. Her skirt retails for $375 and is still available online, but only in a few sizes.

The Bachelorette Season 15, Episode 9, Recap: Hannah Refuses to Give Out a Final Rose


Speaking of other relationships, Hannah travels to Jupiter, Florida for her hometown date with Tyler. And he’s planned a great day: rubbing sunscreen all over his abs. OK, fine, that’s just the start; though I doubt Hannah would complain if the day began and ended there.

The date only goes uphill from there: Hannah gets to sit on Tyler’s lap while he drives a boat named the “Reel Clean” and points out the local sights, followed by a swim (and make out session) in the sea. “It’s super hot kissing Tyler,” Hannah says, to the shock of no one.

I would have loved more time watching Tyler splash around the ocean, but I guess Hannah does have to meet his family. And this hometown is especially emotional because Tyler’s dad was suffering from a paralyzed vocal chord—and Tyler hasn’t seen him since he left for the show, so it’s been hard to not know how the recovery’s been going.

So, of course, I tear up when Tyler and his dad are reunited. When the two sit down for a chat, Tyler admits he’s taking this process seriously because he wants his dad to be able to see him with a wife and kids someday. His dad replies that he hasn’t seen Tyler this happy in a long time. And I’m crying again.

Hannah’s talk with Dad is just as sweet—apparently Tyler hasn’t had many girlfriends, so it’s good but scary to see him so enamored. Damn, as if we needed another reason to love Tyler. Before Hannah leaves, she and Tyler make out in the backseat of an SUV while the driver stares forward and does his best to pretend like it’s not happening. A pro!

The third hometown date is with Luke in Gainesville, Georgia. He takes her to a church meeting, where he stands up and shares the story we’ve heard before: how he was “tangled up in sin” until God spoke to him in the shower. It feels more like a motivational speech than anything else, but Hannah seems into it? When they break out into smaller groups, everyone praises Luke so much it feels like a set up. Um, have you all met Luke? Maybe they thought Hannah was asking about some amazing dude named Duke?
