Jennifer Aniston's Face During Brad Pitt's Golden Globes 2020 Speech Has Everyone Talking

Brad Pitt took home the 2020 Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor on Sunday night, January 5, and something happened during his speech that has the entire internet talking. Of course, it has to do with Jennifer Aniston.

The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor made a joke about his dating life while accepting his Globe, and the camera immediately panned to Aniston. “I wanted to bring my mom but I couldn’t because any woman I stand next to they say I’m dating,” he said, which got a seemingly genuine laugh out of Aniston.

It was a split-second moment, but the Twitter reactions keep pouring in. See them for yourself, below:

Earlier in the evening, Pitt mentioned Aniston during his interview with Entertainment Tonight. When the reporter asked Pitt about his ex, he said, “I’ll run into Jen. She’s a good friend. The second most important reunion of her year.” (Ahhh, we see what he did there with the Friends joke.)

Obviously, tonight’s fun at the Golden Globes should not be taken as a sign that Jennifer and Brad are getting back together. Their marriage ended in 2005, people. That was 15 years ago. In December 2019, fans freaked out when news broke Pitt attended Aniston’s Christmas party. “They have been in touch a few times since her birthday and are keeping it friendly,” a source told People, adding. “The annual tree-trimming party is always Jen’s favorite to host. She loves Christmas. As usual, a large group of friends attended.”

Aniston was nominated at tonight’s Golden Globes for Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama for her performance in Apple TV+’s The Morning Show. (Olivia Colman ended up winning for The Crown. season three.)

I Tried the 60-Second Face Wash Challenge, and It Changed My Skin

when taking a slower and more methodical approach to cleansing. (Jegasothy notes preservatives in cleansers also commonly cause irritation, and may have been the culprit.) So to give the 60-second face wash challenge a real try, I made the switch to low-surfactant formulas for a month, opting for concentrations of around 5%. I also made sure to follow Jegasothy’s instructions and spend the full amount of time at the sink. Because, as she puts it, if you don’t use these gentle cleansers longer, you might not be giving them enough time to truly do their job.

With that in mind, I tested out my new crop of cleansers, making sure to give each a full 60 seconds to work their magic, and came up with a newfound obsession for gentle face washes. I loved the Holifrog Shasta AHA Refining Acid Wash, which houses a party pack of exfoliating acids—the combination closely replicates the cleansing action of higher surfactants, but is gentle enough that it doesn’t irritate your skin. When I wanted to switch things up with a solid cleanser, I reached for the Arcona Kiwi Cream Bar, which swaps out sulfates for saponins (plant-derived surfactants that create foaming action). The result is a gentle cleanser that works up a more traditional lather, but doesn’t strip your skin. A solid choice for acne: the Kinship Naked Papaya Gentle Enzyme Face Cleanser. The creamy gel combines papaya enzyme and probiotics to exfoliate and support a healthy microbiome.

I also found oil cleansers to be particularly clutch for 60-second washing because you don’t have to spend too much time scanning ingredients labels—most of them naturally contain very low or no surfactants. I had the best luck with Monastery Rose Cleansing Oil, which is free of surfactants, emulsifiers, alcohols, salts, and water. The ritualistic experience is a good bet for dry skin. After massaging it in for a minute, wipe everything off with a damp cloth—no splashing of your face (and countertops) required. Cleansing balms work similarly, and I had no problem eating up 60 seconds with Ranavat Botanics Luminous Ceremony Cream Cleanser, a luxurious cream-balm hybrid. It smells faintly of fresh-cut flowers and feels amazing when you massage it in. Although the hero ingredient is manjistha, an Ayurvedic herb meant to clear blemished skin, the formula still manages to feel intensely moisturizing.

One month after my cleanser overhaul, I was treated to a spectacularly unforeseen outcome: My monthly cystic zit never surfaced. Even better: Another 30 days of slow and gentle cleansing yielded the same result. Jegasothy points to increased surface blood flow and circulation as a key benefit of extended cleansing, while Robinson says that a longer wash with lower-surfactant cleanser is “absolutely” more advantageous. “There’s less stripping,” he explains. I’m chalking up the Great Zit Disappearance of 2019—and my newfound glow—to the new habit. While both experts said they couldn’t pinpoint my skin’s sudden clarity to this specific change, I’m with the internet on this one: The 60-second challenge is gold.

Gigi Hadid Wore a Full Face of Drugstore Makeup to the CMAs—and Crushed It

We are always here for an unexpected Gigi Hadid sighting—like when she showed up as Kacey Musgraves‘ date at last night’s CMA Awards. We love it even more when she shows up with an impeccably gorgeous makeup look that we can’t wait to recreate for every holiday party we go to this season. Oh, and did we forget to mention that every product is available at the drugstore?

Hadid’s go-to makeup artist, Patrick Ta, was “inspired by the flashing lights of Nashville and the vibrant glam of country music” and put the focus of the look at the supermodel’s golden shimmery eyes and nude lip using Maybelline products. (Hadid is a face for the brand.)

Let’s break it down, shall we.

FACE:

To create Hadid’s glowing skin, Ta lightly contoured her cheeks with the darkest shade of Maybelline FaceStudio Master Contour V-Shape DuoStick in Deep and then followed that with a lighter shade under the eyes, in the center of the forehead, on the chin, and the bridge of the nose. “Next, I used the Maybelline FitMe Blush in Nude and applied it to the apples of her cheeks, blending into the contour for a seamless finish,” Ta said in a release. “For a subtle but impactful highlight, I applied Maybelline FaceStudio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter in Molten Gold to the highest but flattest points of her cheekbones. I set the look using the Maybelline FaceStudio Lasting Fix Makeup Setting Spray to ensure her glam stays put all night!”

Bonus tip: Hadid’s other makeup artist, Erin Parsons, previously told Glamour that you can “add an extra layer of glow by using a powder highlighter on top of a cream. I love the Maybelline FaceStudio Master Chrome Highlighter because it’s not glittery or chunky—it just gives the ultimate glimmer.”

EYES:

Ta broke out his “favorite palette”—Maybelline Lemonade Craze Eyeshadow Palette—and applied the shade Sweet Tea with a fluffy blush and applied it to Hadid’s crease, blending out to make sure there were no hard edges. He then added the shade Sherbet across her entire eyelid using a flat brush. Fun fact: Ta even created his own line of brushes, including an eye shadow brush, specifically designed to “expertly blend shadows into the crease during application,” he told Glamour.

To tie the shades together, he also applied Sweet Tea to her lower lash line before moving on to the sharp wing which he created with Maybelline TattooStudio Sharpenable Gel Pencil Longwear Eyeliner in Deep Onyx and would certainly meet with approval from Hadid’s friend, Taylor Swift. He finished off her eyes with two coats of The Falsies Black Drama Washable Mascara.

LIPS:

“I created Gigi’s statement nude lip by lining the lips with Maybelline Color Sensational Shaping Lip Liner in Purely Nude followed by Maybelline Color Sensational The Loaded Bolds Lipstick in Nude Thrill,” Ta said. And we love how the lip is subtle, yet somehow bold, all at the same time—which perfectly balances out her shimmery eyes.

Meghan Markle's Close Friend Opened Up About Watching Her Face Media Scrutiny

An upcoming documentary about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s recent trip to Africa showed Markle revealing that she’s been “vulnerable” in the spotlight as a royal and new mother. “Not many people have asked if I’m okay,” the Duchess said in the now-viral clip. Following that heartbreaking confession, one of the Duchess of Sussex’s close friends is coming to her defense.

On a recent episode of CBS This Morning, Markle’s makeup artist, Daniel Martin opened up about watching his friend face intense scrutiny from the British tabloids. In short: It’s been an incredibly difficult time for the Duchess.

At the top of the interview, Martin was asked how it’s been to watch his close friend get dissected by the British media. “To be honest, it’s been tough,” Martin said. “Watching this documentary, it’s almost been the relief seeing her at a point where she can be honest about what’s been happening. I feel like all of us who have known, we just didn’t know what to do or how to help, but I feel like just putting this out there, like it has been challenging, it’s hopefully demystified a lot about what’s going on over there.”

Markle is currently in a legal battle against the Daily Mail, which allegedly illegally published a private letter she sent to her father, Thomas Markle, in 2018.

Martin was asked how Markle is handling the lawsuit under the watchful eye of the press. He revealed that Markle’s singularly focused on protecting Prince Harry and baby Archie through the proceedings. “I think she has a lot on her plate and she just wants to make sure that her boys are safe,” he said. “I know her. She’s going to totally take care of this. It’s just understanding the ways around it.”

Keeping up close friendships outside of the royal family have been essential to Markle’s adjustment to her new role. Martin, whom Markle has known for a decade, has been part of several of her big occasions, including the royal wedding (he was responsible for Markle;s makeup) and her baby shower. The love is mutual: While Markle was in New York City for the U.S. Open in September, she snuck in a visit to Martin’s birthday party.

It’s unclear how long Markle’s lawsuit will last or what the outcome will be, but judging by Martin’s interview, she at least has dedicated friends to support her through it.

Peter Weber’s Face Is Fine, in Case You Were Wondering

Every night for the past three weeks, I’ve had something on my mind: Peter Weber’s face. Ever since news broke that the current Bachelor suffered a “freak accident” while filming this season—one that reportedly required 22 face stitches—I’ve been thinking about his dimples. And nose. And chin. Would my favorite pilot pull through to hand out roses to a group of women named Lauren in time? Would his brows be able to furrow when one of the Laurens reveals she has a boyfriend back home? Would his smile be intact for a blindfolded three-legged race hosted by Mila Kunis in episode two? These thoughts have been running through my mind faster than Colton hurdling over that fence.

But I’m very pleased to announce that Peter Weber and his face are doing just fine. A lucky fan, Sabryna Salazar, posted a photo of herself and Weber in Peru, and he looks better than ever. The only indicator of trouble is a tiny Band-Aid on his forehead. And just like that, my blood pressure has returned to a regular level.

If you’re unfamiliar with the accident I’m talking about, here’s a quick refresher: In early October, multiple outlets reported that Weber fell and split his face. This was later confirmed by Chris Harrison. “Peter suffered a freak accident. He got a cut on his head. He did get stitches, but he’s 100% okay and production is already back underway,” he told the Hollywood Reporter. “He’s still the dashing, handsome pilot we’ve all dreamed of.”

Damn right he is. My faith has now been restored in reality TV, airplanes, and emergency surgery. Weber’s season of The Bachelor will most likely premiere this January on ABC.

See Weber for yourself in the photo, below:
