Meghan Markle Is Launching a Fashion Collection for Charity

Even though she’s technically on maternity leave, Meghan Markle has been staying busy. She spent months guest-editing the September issue of British Vogue, which hits newsstands August 2. Beyond helping with the casting of the cover and curating the features inside, there’s another element to this collaboration, according to royal sources: a fashion collection that’ll benefit charity.

On Tuesday reporter Omid Scobie revealed on Twitter that the Duchess of Sussex will be partnering with four brands—Marks & Spencer, John Lewis & Partners, Jigsaw, and Misha Nonoo—on a workwear capsule. All proceeds from it will go to the U.K. charity Smart Works, which offers unemployed women a pathway into the workplace.

Markle wrote about the collection in the upcoming issue of British Vogue, adding that it’s scheduled for release later this year.

“For each item purchased by a customer, one is donated to charity,” the duchess said, according to Scobie. “Not only does this allow us to be part of each other’s story, it reminds us we are in it together.”

Smart Works is actually one of Markle’s royal patronages. She visited it back in January.

This capsule collection is a combination of the duchess’s many interests: It leverages her style and fashion know-how while also tapping into her longtime advocacy for women’s rights.

Some of her chosen collaborators are brands she actually wears. The duchess has been photographed in Marks & Spencer accessories multiple times and wore Misha Nonoo to her first-ever public appearance with Prince Harry. (Nonoo is a friend of the Markle’s, and attended the Royal Wedding.)

At Long Last, 'Big Little Lies' Got Its Own Fashion Collection

It’s not surprising anymore when the release of a highly-anticipated television show is accompanied by some sort of limited-edition capsule collection inspired by it. Game of Thrones had Adidas sneakers and Urban Decay lipsticks; Riverdale had Keds shoes. And now, Big Little Lies is getting the same treatment—and of course, the incredibly chic capsule is worthy of the Monterey Five. (Truly, fandoms have never been so well-outfitted.)

HBO announced its partnering with The Wing, the members-only co-working space, on a collection inspired by the “circle of trust” between the women of Big Little Lies, featuring exclusively women-led fashion brands. It includes a Cuyana mini circle bag, an Outdoor Voices bra and legging set, and a pair of Lizzie Fortunato earrings—all in special colorways that draw from the show and its characters.

You don’t have to be a member of The Wing to shop the collection: It’s live on the company’s e-commerce site. It’ll also be available for purchase at its SoHo and West Hollywood locations in New York and Los Angeles, respectively.

It’s easy to picture any of the Monterey Five wearing these pieces—Jane slinging the Cuyana bag across her body to head out with Ziggy, Renata putting on the Lizzie Fortunato earrings for a meeting, Bonnie teaching a yoga class in head-to-toe OV. (Madeline could totally be an OV type, too.)

Still, it’s an HBO-sanctioned way to dress like you’re in Big Little Lies, and another thing to obsess over before the show comes back on June 9. Consider your premiere watch party look sorted.

This New Aldo Shoe Collection Is Specifically for Plus-Size Shoppers

You might know Addition Elle only through its lingerie collection with Ashley Graham, but the Canadian retailer has been dominating the plus-size apparel space since the eighties, always working to provide options to shoppers who have traditionally been underserved in fashion. And it’s still finding new ways to do that in 2019—now with shoes and handbags.

Addition Elle announced a partnership with Aldo aimed specifically at plus-size consumers looking for strappy sandals, caged heels, ankle boots, and cross-body bags that actually fit. This collaboration was inspired by consumers directly, according to Marie-Soleil Calvert, Addition Elle’s vice president of merchandising: “[Our customer] told us that she wanted fashionable footwear that fits properly and is comfortable, so we searched for a partner that would help bring our collections to the next level.” Aldo proved to be that, not just because of its knowledge of footwear trends and design but also because of the known consistency of its products in terms of quality and fit. Addition Elle brought the expertise in plus-size design and the desires of their customers. The result is a collection that addresses some of plus-size shoppers’ needs and desires from the accessories space: wider width (and, in some cases, extra-wide width), longer ankle straps, breathability (via inserts), and additional support (thanks to padded memory foam).

“Our customer wants fashion in her size,” says Calvert. “She doesn’t want to be limited to the conventional choices that she’s been given—she wants the same thing as every other woman. She asks for comfortable heels, interesting prints, bright colors, and cool styling. And that’s exactly what we’re able to offer her with this collaboration.”

In recent years some brands have expanded their footwear offerings to be more inclusive. ASOS has a selection of wide-fit shoes, Target’s A New Day offers some styles in wide width, and last year Jeffrey Campbell partnered with model La’shaunae Steward on a line of curve-friendly footwear. Still, it’s a category with a lot of room for growth.

These Aldo pieces are available exclusively at Addition Elle; pricing for footwear ranges from $45 to $100; handbags are between $35 and $60. Shop the new collection, ahead.

Adidas Released a Collection of *Game of Thrones* Sneakers

After seven seasons and countless fan theories, winter is here: The end of Game of Thrones is in sight. We don’t know much about the final six episodes, save for their air dates and length. (Though, we can watch the trailer for the umpteenth time to try to unearth new Easter eggs.) Fans of the show can, however, support their favorite House in the battle for the Iron Throne with footwear, thanks to Adidas’ epic new sneaker collection.

Ahead of its sure-to-be-mind-blowing conclusion, Adidas joined forces with Game of Thrones to design a line inspired by the Houses and major players of the Seven Kingdoms. House Stark, House Targaryen, House Lannister, the Night’s Watch, and the White Walkers all got their own Ultraboost sneakers, in colors matching their respective emblems and wardrobes. (The Night’s Watch got black-on-black, White Walkers got an icy blue and white combination, and so on.)

An Urban Decay 'Game of Thrones' Collection Is Coming

There are many reasons that to be counting the days until April, not the least of which is the return of HBO’s Game of Thrones for its eighth and final season, when we’ll finally learn who will reign on the Iron Throne. While the world has been anxiously awaiting new episodes and deep diving into every internet theory imaginable about Sansa, Arya, Daenerys, and her dragon children, the good people over at Urban Decay have been busy with their own baby: a Game of Thrones collection.

The show’s first-ever official makeup collaboration was announced via a somewhat cryptic Instagram post caption: “WE ARE READY ⚔️ #FORTHETHRONE #URBANDECAY @gameofthrones,” it reads, along with an image that can best be described as fierce.

The brand also teased the collection on Twitter, writing, “Worlds will collide,” along with a fire and ice emoji.

Back in 2017 there were rumors of GoT makeup, but it never came to pass. Perhaps, Urban Decay had the inside track since the company had previously worked with HBO on a collaboration for the show Vinyl. And the network has certainly seemed to lean into the marketing and merchandising of the show as it comes to a close. Remember that Thrones/Bud Light crossover ad at the Super Bowl?

Whatever forces made this collaboration a reality, we are here for it. While we don’t know many details yet (we’ll update this post once more intel surfaces), we do know that it’s arriving in April. From the released photos, it’s clear that the color palette will definitely not be as neutral as that of the Starks at Winterfell. That blue-ish teal shadow looks incredible—and fit for a queen like…Daenerys, perhaps?

But we still have so many questions. Will there be different palettes based on characters like Dany, Sansa, Cersei, and Arya? (Although, really would the youngest Stark daughter ever wear mascara? Unclear.) Is there a guyliner inspired by Jon Snow? And most importantly, how many products will there be for me to spend all my money on?

More details to come. But from the reactions on Twitter, it’s safe to say the line will be as much of a hit as the show.

Here's Every Single Piece From Selena Gomez's Collection for Puma

Selena Gomez is taking her relationship with Puma to the next level. She signed with the brand as a spokesperson last year; then, in March, she designed a limited-edition sneaker and sock pairing. Now, she’s releasing a full-fledged collection—apparel, footwear, accessories, the works.

“I put a lot of effort in creating something that would appeal to every type of girl and wanted to show my personality with this collection,” Gomez said in a statement. Her favorites include the SG Runner, a white sneaker that draws from silhouettes from the ’80s and ’90s; and the layering pieces that are meant to be mixed and matched. (“SG” stands for both Selena Gomez and for the name of the collection, Strong Girl.) And, like her projects with Coach, Gomez peppered in discrete messages for her fans in the collection: “For me, details are everything, so that’s why we included some hidden, ‘strong girl,’ inspirational messages and design features,” she explained. (One of the sports bras, for instance, has “strong inside and out” written in script underneath a layer of mesh.)

SG x Puma drops in full today, online and in stores. Prices start at $30 for gloves and beanies, and go up to $200 for a jacket. Check out the assortment—plus the lookbook, which features Gomez alongside strong women in her life: Connar Franklin, Raquelle Stevens, Courtney J. Barry, Caroline Franklin, and Theresa Marie Mingus—in the gallery ahead.
