Dakota Johnson's Architectural Digest House Tour Video Is the Only Thing Keep Me Calm Right Now

The world feels like the 2011 movie Contagion right now, with coronavirus fear at an all-time high. But one thing is keeping me calm: Dakota Johnson’s Architectural Digest house tour.

Let me paint you a picture: Last night I was at the grocery store, stocking up on cereal and cans of chili I’ll never eat because it feels like we could be quarantined any day now. In the checkout line, a person with no less than 15 jars of peanut butter in their cart started yelling at the shopper behind me for leaving their buggy unattended. I started sweating and felt my heartbeat rise, but then I played this clip on a loop from Johnson’s house tour that I’d posted to my Instagram:

“I love limes,” Johnson says in the most pleasantly hushed tone, pointing to a giant bowl of the most beautiful limes I’ve ever seen. “I love them. They’re great. I love them so much.”

Instantly, all the yelling and peanut butter and apocalyptic vibes melted away. “Wow, she’s right. Limes are great,” I thought to myself. “I wish I was a lime right now: shiny and green and sleeping in a bowl on Dakota Johnson’s kitchen counter.”

Watching Johnson’s house tour is the best vacation you’ll ever take. Even a real vacation where, like, you go to a beach can’t hold a candle to it. It’s a truly transformative experience. You’re instantly transported to a bamboo and crushed mohair (???)-covered world where your biggest problem is what artwork you want to stare at: the wax mushroom or the photo of Johnson’s grandma with one—one—of her tigers.

It’s a world where your delicate and expensive chairs that are not meant to be outside sit by your pool because, “Who cares?” A world where you have a table made from the wood of Winston Churchill’s yacht that no one uses. You have a lemon tree and an orange tree. Crystals the size of toddlers. A People’s Choice Award. This is nirvana. Nothing can hurt you here—not tax season, not Ellen DeGeneres, and certainly not the coronavirus.

For these 10 minutes, you can pretend you actually are Dakota Johnson, gliding around your all-green kitchen, not knowing what a teacup saucer is. Your neighbors will complain that your bamboo trees are too high, but that’s OK because you’re Dakota Johnson. You can tell them to “shove it.”

In this world, there are no rules: just perfect bangs, antique pianos, and a table maybe owned by Ryan Murphy, the former keeper of the house. Trust me: You need this escape right now. It’s a thing you won’t even realize you needed until you watch it. Check out the video, below, and when you’re done come talk to me. Aren’t you calmer? Happier? Ready to take on this pandemic with the enthusiasm Dakota Johnson has for 1stdibs? I thought so.

Calm Down Everyone, Kylie Jenner Isn't Pregnant

Sorry, everyone: We won’t be seeing an over-the-top Kylie Jenner baby shower any time soon. Although some people thought they heard Jenner saying, “I’m pregnant!” in a viral video from her sister Khloé Kardashian’s birthday party, several sources have confirmed that the reality show star is not planning to add more little ones to her family right now.

The rumors started after Khloé uploaded a bunch of birthday footage to her Instagram Stories. She left the volume on in one short clip, and at the end of it, a voice could be heard making what sounded like a quick pregnancy announcement. Fans believed the voice sounded a lot like Kylie’s, and immediately, they started speculating that perhaps Jenner was having another kid and giving Stormi, her daughter with Travis Scott, a little sibling.

But E! News broke the no-baby news on Friday, saying that it had confirmed that the whole thing was actually a simple case of mistaken identity. A source of theirs had previously said that Kylie eventually does want to have more children—it just looks like now isn’t quite the time yet.

“Kylie talks about having another baby very frequently,” a source said. “She would love to have another baby with Travis and would love to be pregnant by next year. She talks about it all the time and feels like she was truly meant to be a mother.”

Page Six also confirmed that the voice from the party was somebody else’s.

Of course, Kylie isn’t known for being the most forthcoming person about her personal life: She refused to say anything when she was pregnant with Stormi—and even now, people are still wondering what the actual relationship status is with her and Scott (she’s kept everyone guessing about a possible engagement for months now). So, if she does decide to have another child, we’ll just have to accept she’ll tell us her own very Kylie way.

Taylor Swift's "You Need to Calm Down" Music Video Features a Cameo From Katy Perry

As promised, Taylor Swift delivered the music video for her latest single, “You Need to Calm Down,” this morning—and it’s packed with famous faces and a lot of color.

Over the weekend, Swift released a list of some of her celebrity friends who appear in the video, like all the guys from Queer Eye, Ellen DeGeneres, Ryan Reynolds, Pose‘s Billy Porter, RuPaul, and Ciara.

But one name was conspicuously left off the list: Katy Perry. That’s right: Katy Perry, dressed in her Met Gala burger costume, reunites with Taylor Swift, who’s dressed as an order of fries. The two approach each other hesitantly, but then end up awkwardly slow-dancing like you did back in middle school. Rumors began swirling over the weekend that Perry would appear in Swift’s video, and that they kissed during their burger-fry dance. But Swift shut this down, saying, “To be an ally is to understand the difference between advocating and baiting.” It turns out that the fast food concept was true—just not the kiss.

We already knew these two were back to being friends after the cookie peace offering seen ’round the world, but now it’s officially official. Does this mean Swift will be making an appearance in an upcoming Perry video? We hope so.

“A happy meal,” Swift captioned a photo of her and Perry on Twitter.

“This meal is BEEF-free #MeatFreeMonday ?♥️?,” Perry wrote on Instagram.

Swift wants to celebrate all the friends she asked to be in the video. “The #YNTCDmusicvideo is out! First, I want to say that my co-stars in this video are AMAZING. Please celebrate by supporting their work, following them, and going to see them perform. I’m SO grateful and SO EXCITED I ACTUALLY DO NEED TO CALM DOWN,” she tweeted, before going on to tag them all in subsequent posts.

But what of all the other Swiftian references in the video? There, naturally, are many. Here’s a rundown of some of the best ones.

Taylor Swift Just Revealed Which Celebs Are Making a Cameo in Her 'You Need to Calm Down' Music Video

Taylor Swift‘s gearing up to drop the music video for her new song “You Need to Calm Down” on Good Morning America on Monday (June 17)—and in true Swift fashion, she’s given us a little clue about what to expect. In uncharacteristic Swift fashion, however, she didn’t make us do any detective work: Instead, she decided on Sunday (June 16) to straight-up announce some of the A-list celebrities making an appearance in the video.

The singer shared the star-studded list of cameos on her social media accounts, which includes some very recognizable actors, singers, athletes, and YouTubers. In keeping with the anti-hate, pro-LGBTQ+ theme of “You Need to Calm Down,” many of the celebrities appearing in the video are proud members of the LGBTQ+ community.

“Asked a few friends to be in the You Need to Calm Down video. Out tomorrow at 8:15 am ET,” she coyly wrote alongside the teaser clip.

Here’s everyone who’s making an appearance:

  • Ellen DeGeneres
  • Ryan Reynolds
  • Hayley Kiyoko
  • Jesse Tyler Ferguson
  • Justin Mikita
  • All of the Queer Eye guys
  • Laverne Cox
  • Dexter Mayfield
  • Ciara
  • RuPaul
  • Billy Porter
  • Adam Lambert
  • Adam Rippon
  • Todrick Hall
  • Chester Lockhart
  • Hannah Hart

It’s quite the list. However, there’s no mention of Katy Perry or some of Swift’s other high-profile friends on the list—yet: The 29-year-old also shared that more of her famous friends will be featured.

One thing we know for sure though: Perry and Swift will definitely not be sharing a kiss in the video, despite all those internet theories. Swift debunked any and all speculation on Tumblr, confirming there is no truth to the rumors that she would never “bait” her fans that way.

“GUYS. That is ABSOLUTELY false. To be an ally is to understand the difference between advocating and baiting,” she wrote. “Anyone trying to twist this positivity into something it isn’t needs to calm down. It costs zero dollars to not step on our gowns. ?✌️”

Taylor Swift Just Hit Back at All Her Trolls With Her New Song, 'You Need to Calm Down'

Taylor Swift has some things to say about the Internet, social media, and trolls—and she’s letting it all out in the latest single from her upcoming seventh album.

The song, “You Need to Calm Down,” dropped at midnight, and its message is clear just from the title: We must chill, guys. Musically, the new song feels very in line with the first single from the album, “ME!” And though it’s laying out a clear message to trolls and those who drag Swift and her friends online, the overall tone is positive. The actual video for “You Need to Calm Down” will be released next week. “I wanted you to hear the song first, then see the video,” she said during an Instagram livestream on Thursday, June 13. “Because the video is very worth the wait. There’s a lot going on in the video, so I wanted that to be a separate discovery.”

So let’s break down what Tay’s got to say on this new song.

She sets the tone with the first verse, calling out the difference between saying something to someone’s face versus putting it on social media: “You are somebody that I don’t know/But you’re takin’ shots at me like it’s Patrón/And I’m just like, damn, it’s 7 AM/Say it in the street, that’s a knock-out/But you say it in a Tweet, that’s a cop-out/And I’m just like, “Hey, are you OK?”

Swift goes on to say she’s not against self-expression, but she’s learned to let it go because “snakes and stones never broke my bones,” seemingly a reference to the pre-Reputation Kim Kardashian drama.

There’s also more than one reference to the LGBTQ+ community in the song. At one point, Swift sings, “Why are you mad when you could be GLAAD? (You could be GLAAD)”. GLAAD is the organization formerly known as the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation that describes itself as being at the “forefront of cultural change, accelerating acceptance for the LGBTQ community.” Later she says, “And control your urges to scream about all the people you hate/’Cause shade never made anybody less gay.” This is in line with a newly more politically active Swift, who recently released a letter she wrote to her Tennessee senator about protecting LGBTQ+ rights.

Blue Ivy Is the Only Person Who Can Get Away With Telling Beyoncé to Calm Down

Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran may have swept the 2018 Grammy Awards—for whatever reason—but the real winner of the evening was Blue Ivy, who showed up fashionably late with her famous mama, Beyoncé. The 6-year-old superstar-in-training sat between Bey and Jay Z the entire evening, delighting the Internet with hilarious expressions. Every time the camera panned to the Carter family, Miss Blue stole the show, which is quite a feat considering who her parents are.

Of all the moments from Sunday’s show, though, there’s one that’s (rightly) blowing up social media. Right after Kesha’s powerful #MeToo tribute, Camila Cabello took the stage to give a brief speech about immigrants. When she finished, Beyoncé and Jay Z gave her a warm applause, but they were interrupted by Blue, who seemingly told her parents to calm TF down.

You can see it in the video, below. As Bey and Jay Z are applauding, Blue gives them a funny look and gestures with her hands something akin to, “Alright, alright: enough applause.” It’s instantly iconic. Check it out:

So what does this mean? Is Blue actually a Fifth Harmony fan? Is she still salty about Cabello leaving the group? Is she the only person on this planet who isn’t a fan of “Havana?” Regardless, Bey and Jay did stop clapping when Blue told them to, confirming once and for all who the real head of their household is.

Here are some of the funniest reactions to Blue reprimanding her parents:

If Blue Ivy is still on the fence about Camila Cabello, I recommend she listen to “Crying in the Club.” America slept on that song, and it’s lightyears better than “Havana,” TBH.
