Watch Kylie Jenner and Justin Bieber Perform ‘Rise and Shine’ Live at a Charity Event

Kylie Jenner has had a pretty big year, even by Kardashian/Jenner standards. She officially became the world’s youngest “self-made” billionaire; she sold 51% of Kylie Cosmetics to Coty Inc. for $600 million; she split with Travis Scott, the father of her daughter Stormi. But, perhaps most iconically, she created arguably best meme of the year with “Rise and Shine.”

In case you somehow missed it, Jenner went viral (well, more viral than usual) after posting a video tour of her Kylie Cosmetics offices. In one clip, she goes into Stormi’s room and sings “rise and shine” to her daughter. The internet took the moment and ran with it, as the internet does—and it was wonderful. She even trademarked the phrase so that she could turn it into a makeup collection (or more).

So what better way to wrap up the year than to perform that brief tune live at a charity event? Jenner, along with her friends, Justin Bieber and Jaden Smith were in attendance at an art gallery auction (curated by Bieber and his wife, Hailey) to benefit LIFT Los Angeles and Inner-City Arts. Thanks to social media footage, we can see the Biebs—who appears to be wearing a pajama-adjacent outfit—began the musical event with old hits like “Baby.”

He got Smith involved on “Never Say Never.”

But the real moment of the night was when he sang “Rise and Shine,” persuading Jenner to come to the mic.

Based on Bieber and Smith’s reactions in this clip, it was their favorite thing of the night too.

Fans on social media went wild over Jenner’s live debut of the…three words. “The way everyone was silent until Kylie start singing “rise and shine” and then Justin screaming out loud. THIS IS SO FUNNY,” one person wrote on Twitter. “Kylie singing rise and shine and justin and jaden jumping is something i didnt know i need until now,” another wrote.

2019, what a wild ride it’s been.

Justin Bieber Gave Hailey Baldwin One Seriously Expensive Birthday Gift

Hailey Baldwin is likely one happy birthday girl this morning. Who wouldn’t be after receiving a gift like this from their husband?

On Friday, the model celebrated her 23rd birthday in style. She started the day with a workout before heading out for lunch in Malibu alongside her singer husband, Justin Bieber. The duo then each shared a few snaps to social media showing their low-key birthday dinner date, which included some homemade salmon, spaghetti, and a nice glass of wine together at home.

However, Bieber also took to Instagram to prove that while the dinner may have been tame, the birthday gifts most certainly were not. In a quick video the singer showed off the absolutely massive—and utterly blinding—bling he gave to his wife for her big day.

“Had to stop by @jadellebh for Hailey’s birthday gift flooded AP… ONLY THE BEST FOR MY BOO,” he captioned the video.

According to Page Six, the watch appears to be a similar design to Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak Offshore diamond watch. That watch, the gossip column noted, is valued at $155,000—but, because Baldwin’s watch was custom made for her birthday its value could be much higher than that.

That wasn’t the only gift Baldwin received for her big day either. As Bieber also showed off on his Instagram stories, his wife also received dozens of flower bouquets, cakes, sweets, and other gifts, which appeared to take over the couple’s entire kitchen. The model also re-shared the multitude of “happy birthday” messages from her famous friends to her stories, including Instagram posts from Kendall Jenner, Lily Aldridge, Gigi Hadid, and more.

Bieber also appeared to have one more thing on his mind during his wife’s birthday: babies. As he wrote in his last birthday post to Baldwin, “Happy birthday babes! You make me want to be better every day! The way you live your life is so attractive.. ps you turn me on in every way…next season BABIES.”

Taylor Swift Is Reportedly ‘Proud’ of Selena Gomez for Throwing So Much Shade at Justin Bieber

Selena Gomez doesn’t mention Justin Bieber by name in her two new songs, “Look at Her Now” and “Lose You to Love Me,” but many fans believe he’s the inspiration. And if that’s the case, she’s throwing some serious shade his way. Both songs contain pointed, emotional lyrics like, “Of course she was sad / But now she’s glad she dodged a bullet,” and “In two months, you replaced us / Like it was easy.”

It’s the most vulnerable Gomez has ever been in her music—and one person who’s proud of her for this is her good friend Taylor Swift. According to Us Weekly, the Lover singer is proud of Gomez for taking Bieber to task in these songs.

“Taylor Swift is a huge supporter of Selena, and the shade she threw at Justin has made her proud,” an insider tells the outlet.

Take this with a grain of salt, of course. This is a source talking, not Taylor Swift herself. That being said, this is in line with what Swift said on Instagram about Gomez’s new music last week. Specifically about “Lose You to Love Me,” Swift wrote on her IG Stories, “This song is a perfect expression of healing and my absolute favorite song she’s put out yet. A triumph. I love you so much @selenagomez.”

Swift also revealed how proud she is of Gomez in a recent interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music. “I’ve watched so much happen in her life and had a front-row seat to so much, and I’m so proud of her,” Swift said. “She is such a revelation because now she’s making her best stuff.”

In her own separate chat with Lowe, Gomez talked about how Swift helped her get through those hard times. “She was frustrated when I was frustrated; she was sad when I was sad,” Gomez said, according to Elle. “I think [my friends] visibly saw me in so much pain. And they didn’t want it for me, but they never stopped loving me.”

Selena Gomez Revealed How Taylor Swift Helped Her Get Over Justin Bieber

Selena Gomez is back on the charts with her first new songs in years, “Lose You to Love Me” and “Look at Her Now.” Fans wasted no time combing through the lyrics of the singles for references to Gomez’s breakup from Justin Bieber last year.

And while Gomez hasn’t directly addressed her songs’ ties to her old relationship, she has gotten candid about the period after her breakup—and how her close friend Taylor Swift helped her move on and get back in the studio.

The details about Swift’s role in helping her pal move on from a broken heart emerged when the singer stopped by BBC Radio’s Beats 1 show for an interview with Zane Lowe this week. Lowe asked Swift what she thought of Gomez’s new music, and she couldn’t stop gushing about it. “Lose You to Love Me,” Swift said, is “the best thing [Selena’s] ever done.”

“She’s been through so much,” Swift added. “I’ve watched so much happen in her life and had a front-row seat to so much, and I’m so proud of her. She is such a revelation because now she’s making her best stuff.”

Swift continued: “The things that she’s overcome, the situations she’s risen above, it’s been a long time since we were friends and she’s the best. She’s just the best. I’m really excited because when somebody has had great life experience, has had really tough things they’ve had to go through and they can process that and make art that’s going to help other people, that’s what kind of song this is. I’m stoked.”

Swift added that she can’t speak for Gomez’s experience entirely, but she’s thrilled at how far her friend has come. “Just from my perspective as her friend, I’ve just never been more proud,” she said.

Later that day, it was Gomez’s turn to chat with Lowe. He played her the recording of Swift’s interview on the air, asking her to respond. Needless to say, things got emotional.

Gomez choked up, revealing that Swift has been by her side through every high and low over the past several years. “She was frustrated when I was frustrated; she was sad when I was sad,” she said, per Elle. “I think [my friends] visibly saw me in so much pain. And they didn’t want it for me but they—sorry—they never stopped loving me.”

As it turns out, Swift was also by Gomez’s side in and out of the studio. The “Lover” singer was one of the first ones to hear “Lose You to Love Me,” Gomez explained. “I played her the song, and I played it with her mom and dad, and I showed her the video and her mom and Taylor started crying,” she said. “And it wasn’t because the song was emotional. It was just because the first thing they said to me was, ‘We’re so happy that you’re here. After seeing all of that, this is such a cool moment.’ And that’s a huge thing for me.”

Gomez added that her rollercoaster relationship with Bieber took its toll, but opening up about it to her closest friends made healing possible. “My heart was just so tired, and I think that allowing myself to just say that was important for me,” she said.

The singers met in 2008 while they were dating two of the Jonas Brothers (Joe and Nick), and have remained close friends ever since. In a 2017 interview, Gomez said that becoming friends with Swift was “the best thing we got out of those relationships.”

Over the past week, Gomez has continued to open up about her new music and the pain that inspired it. In an earlier interview with Ryan Seacrest, she admitted that healing after her breakup wasn’t easy, but she’s channeled it into her album that’s four years in the making. “It took me a long time to get through it,” she said. “Now it’s fine. I’m smiling. It’s so great.”

Here’s How Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin Reportedly Feel About Selena Gomez’s New Music

Selena Gomez dropped two new songs this week—“Lose You to Love Me” and “Look at Her Now”—and fans are convinced both address the pop star’s ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.

The evidence is in the lyrics. On the former song, Gomez muses, “In two months, you replaced us / Like it was easy / Made me think I deserved it / In the thick of healing.” (Bieber became engaged to Hailey Baldwin in summer 2018, a mere few months after ending his relationship with Gomez for good.) The latter song, meanwhile, speaks in generalities but illustrates the process of finding yourself again after enduring a breakup. “Of course she was sad / But now she’s glad she dodged a bullet,” she sings.

Gomez, for her part, hasn’t mentioned Justin Bieber or Hailey Baldwin by name in recent interviews about the new music. We’ll probably never know for sure the inspiration behind the songs—but regardless, Bieber and Baldwin aren’t sweating the chatter.

“Of course Justin and Hailey have heard Selena’s new song and they are both trying to not give any reaction to her lyrics referencing Justin,” a source reveals to E! News. “It isn’t ideal for Hailey, but she understands the creative process of writing music and that Justin had a past.”

The source continues, “Justin has completely moved on from that chapter of his life and understands that Selena is allowed to reflect on the past in her own way. Justin and Hailey both want Selena to be happy and in a good place and aren’t phased by it.”

This is certainly in line with how Baldwin reacted to fans thinking she shaded Gomez on Instagram after the new music dropped. The model posted a screen shot of the Summer Walker song “I’ll Kill You” to her IG Story the same day Gomez released “Lose You to Love Me,” which, of course, fans read into. But Baldwin shut this down quickly. “Please stop with this nonsense. There is no ‘response.’ This is complete BS,” she wrote in a now deleted comment.

Gomez also seemingly addressed this drama on Instagram Live. “I am so grateful for the response of the song. However, I will never stand for women tearing other women down,” she said. “So please be kind to everyone.”

Selena Gomez Just Dropped a Second Song That Fans Think Is About Justin Bieber

Selena Gomez fans, a.k.a. the Selenators, were delighted last night when she dropped her second single in less than 24 hours. “And here’s my special gift to all of my ride or dies! I created this with Apple especially for you,” she wrote on Instagram. “Y’all have been through it all with me and I thank you for pushing me to be the best. Look At Her Now is out now. ❤️ #ShotOniPhone.”

In “Look At Her Now”, Gomez is singing about a breakup, and once again fans think she’s referring to her past relationship with Justin Bieber. “They fell in love one summer/A little too wild for each other/Shiny ’til it wasn’t/Feels good ’til it doesn’t,” she says in the opening lyrics. “It was her first real lover/His too ’til he had another/Oh God when she found out/Trust levels went way down.”

Gomez goes on to say that it took a few years to process the end of the relationship, but in the end the breakup was a good thing. “Of course she was sad/But now she’s glad she dodged a bullet. Took a few years/To soak up the tears/But look at her now/Watch her go.”

Listen to the song for yourself, below:

Fans were definitely here for it on Twitter.

Gomez also took to Instagram Live last night with a message for her fans about treating others with kindness. The move seems to be in response to the drama surrounding her and Bieber’s now-wife, Hailey Baldwin. (After Gomez released her first song yesterday, “Lose You to Love Me,” Baldwin posted an Instagram Story that some fans perceived to be a dig at the singer.) “”I am so grateful for the response of the song. However, I will never stand for women tearing other women down,” Gomez said. “So please be kind to everyone.”
