Cardi B Found Out About Her 5 Grammy Nominations at Her Court Appearance


There’s truly never a dull moment when it comes to the life of Cardi B, but this week has been especially eventful. First, she dropped the bombshell that she and husband Offset are divorcing. Then she revealed the very first photo of their adorable baby Kulture. Finally, she got nominated for five—five!—Grammys.

But she didn’t get the news in the usual way, say, for instance, by getting a call from her management team. Instead, she was informed of the big news by reporters outside a New York City courtroom where she was making an appearance for assault and reckless endangerment charges stemming from a fight at a strip club in October.

A reporter shouted to a rainbow-wigged Cardi, “How do you feel that you’re nominated for Grammys?”

She responded, “I am? I am? How many nominations?”

When someone yelled out the number, the rapper stuck out her tongue in celebration.

Later she posted video footage of the encounter on Twitter. “This is not How expected to find out I’m nominated for a Grammy ???,” she wrote. “I need a do over ??‍♀️??‍♀️?”

She also put the video on Instagram. “What a way to find out I got 5 Grammy nominations ??? I’m tellin you my life is a movie,” she wrote in the caption. “I work my ass off for this! Win or not at least I had a chance and people was watching and admiring my work. Im Soo happy! THANK YOU!”

She’s the second most-nominated woman this year—behind Brandi Carlile, who has six. Cardi’s up for Album of the Year and Best Rap Album for Invasion of Privacy, Record of the Year for “I Like It,” Best Pop/Duo Group Performance for “Girls Like You” with Maroon 5, and Best Rap Performance for “Be Careful.”

Not too shabby—congrats to the star!

Kate Middleton and Prince William Made Their First Joint Appearance Since Welcoming Prince Louis


Prince William and Kate Middleton are back on the royal circuit for the first time since the birth of Prince Louis, and they’re doing it for a good cause. The pair’s first joint engagement since the birth of their third child in April was for the inaugural Global Ministerial Mental Health Summit, according to People. The initiative was launched to help raise awareness of mental health issues around the world.

Middleton looked absolutely radiant in a lilac Emilia Wickstead dress, which People points out, she previously wore last year in Germany. The recycled dress was fitting for the occasion, which saw the couple show off their artistic sides by painting with the Colombian artist Dairo Vargas. While inside the meeting, which took place at County Hall on the south banks of the River Thames in London, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also listened to presentations that detailed the work of mental health programs in both Slovenia and the U.S., People reports.

It’s a cause that’s clearly close to their hearts, as Prince William recently spoke about mental health in the workplace, and how his own work as a first responder affected him. “I took a lot home without realizing it,” he said at a mental health event in Bristol, according to People. “You see [so] many sad things every day that you think life is like that.” Middleton meanwhile, joined students at an outdoor recreation center last week, where she listened to teachers explain the value of being around nature and how it can help children’s mental health and development, People reports.

Middleton and Prince William have been doing their part to spread mental health awareness in recent years, after they joined forces with Prince Harry in 2016 to launch the Heads Together campaign. Fittingly, the couple’s most recent outing came one day ahead of World Mental Health Day.

Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton Just Made Their First Solo Appearance Together at Wimbledon


Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stepped out in public together for the first time sans husbands, and from all accounts, the duchesses’ day out looks like a ton of fun: They headed to Wimbledon to watch Markle’s bud Serena Williams take on the Ladies’ Singles Final.

The royal sisters-in-law have been spotted with Princes Harry and William plenty of times, but they left the boys at home for this match. (Prince Harry and Markle just came back from a two-day tour in Dublin, so maybe some girl time was in order.)

Both of them appeared in chic coordinated outfits, with Markle in a striped, blue-and-white Ralph Lauren blouse and Middleton in a dress that seems to be a Jenny Packham design. Markle also wore a white straw boater hat that looks reminiscent of one she wore at Wimbledon back in 2016, which is around the time she met Prince Harry. As Elle points out, at that Wimbledon match, she was photographed chatting with Ralph Lauren PR rep Violet von Westenholz, who was the person to eventually set her up with her future husband. That makes her Ralph Lauren nod even sweeter: Her return to Wimbledon is the first time she’s attended the tennis tournament as a royal.

People reports that before the match, they said hi to several former female tennis champions and talked with some of the ball girls and boys to learn more about the tournament. The Wimbledon Foundation also tweeted several photos of Markle and Middleton meeting with Tia Clarke, the 11-year-old girl who did the coin toss for the match.

All available photographic evidents points to Markle and Middleton having a ball (ha) at the match, which makes us confident they’ll keep hanging out and achieving royal friendship goals.

Arie Luyendyk Jr. Will Reportedly Make an Appearance on This Season of The Bachelorette


This guy just can’t stop popping up and shouting “I love that” at the worst times.

Following their shockingly brutal breakup on last season’s Bachelor, Becca Kufrin confirmed that her ex-fiancé, Arie Luyendyk Jr., will be appearing on her current season of The Bachelorette. The circumstances surrounding his impending arrival, though, are being kept under wraps by the reality TV overlords, but it’s safe to say the duo won’t be sipping champagne and gossiping about her new suitors.

“He will show up, yes,” Kufrin told Entertainment Tonight in a new interview. “We do have a conversation and you’ll just have to see that unfold. At that point it wasn’t emotional, it was just two adults sitting down, wishing each other the best and talking through our experiences. That was our last conversation we’ve had. I knew that would probably be the last time we had a conversation, and I wish him and Lauren the best.”

It’s only been a week, but Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette is already one of the franchise’s most dramatic yet—and controversial. If you’re not up to speed, reports surfaced that one of Kufrin’s suitors, Garrett Yrigoyen, has a history of “liking” offensive memes on Instagram. Kufrin broke her silence on the story earlier this week.

“I met 28 guys who our ideals weren’t always the same. They have different interests,” Kufrin explained in an interview earlier today. “I just want everyone to watch it back and to get to know these guys and to get to know me for who we really are and not social media, because that’s just a small glimpse into a person and it’s not always reflective of who they are.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Next Public Appearance Will Be an Important One


Meghan Markle and Prince Harry still have a few things to take care of before they jet off on a much-deserved honeymoon. On Tuesday, only a few days after their gorgeous wedding in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, they made their first public appearance as newlyweds at a celebration at the Buckingham Palace Gardens in honor of Harry’s father Prince Charles. And according to People, Markle and Prince Harry’s next post-wedding, pre-honeymoon official royal outing will be at yet another family birthday party: Queen Elizabeth’s annual Trooping the Colour celebration, which takes place each June, several weeks after her actual April 21 birth date.

During the Trooping the Colour event, which falls on June 9 this year, Queen Elizabeth is honored with a military parade and royal salute, and rides in a carriage from Buckingham Palace to the nearby Horse Guards Parade grounds, where she inspects the troops and returns the salute. The rest of the family makes the trip with their matriarch, with royal colonels Prince Charles and Prince William riding alongside her carriage on horseback, and everyone else, including Prince Harry, Duchess Camilla, and Kate Middleton, following in a procession of carriages.

It’s clear that Markle is already completely comfortable attending formal events with her husband’s family. At Tuesday’s garden party, she wore a gorgeous pale pink Goat dress and Philip Treacy hat, shared a giggle with Prince Harry’s father and stepmother when a bee attempted to dive-bomb Harry’s face during his speech, and showed some subtle PDA to Prince Harry as they headed back into the palace. Clearly, she’ll have no problem whatsoever fitting into the family pics on the Buckingham Palace balcony at the end of this year’s Trooping the Colour ceremony.

Kate Middleton Wore Red Dress Like Princess Diana at First Appearance With Royal Baby


On Monday morning, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their third child, a son, into the world. And when it was time for mother and child stepped out in public for the first time later that day, Kate Middleton wore an outfit that appears to give a subtle nod to Princess Diana.

Middleton left the Lido Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in London wearing a red Jenny Packham dress with a white lace Peter Pan collar. (She wore the designer to announce the birth of her two other children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte—a blue polka-dot style for the former, and a yellow floral print sheath for the latter.) The garment wasn’t just another stylish entry into the Duchess’ closet: There seem to be plenty of comparisons to be drawn between her outfit and two iconic looks from the late Princess Diana’s style book.

The first, most obvious parallel is to what Princess Diana wore to make her first appearance with a newborn Prince Harry in 1984—a long-sleeved red dress with white collar, much like Middleton’s Jenny Packham style.

Then, there are the similarities between the Duchess’ red dress and one worn by Princess Diana back in 1983, while on an official visit to Canada with Prince Charles. Remember this look?

Middleton’s take on Princess Diana’s red dresses also had a special designer touch: Middleton has now worn Jenny Packham for all three royal birth announcements. For the birth of Prince George, she donned a blue polka-dot dress by the British designer. Then when Princess Charlotte came along, she opted for a Jenny Packham yellow floral print sheath.

The Duchess has been known to mirror the fashion of Princess Diana. While Middleton’s look today isn’t a detail-for-detail match, it appears to be a sweet wink at the royal family’s history on such a big day.
