However, this person doesn’t seem to think the relationship will last. “She’ll get bored eventually and move on like she always does,” the source added. “That’ll leave Pete nursing a broken heart because he always falls hard and fast like this. Look at what happened with Ariana.”
February 16, 2019: Beckinsale shuts down yet another stranger who made a rude comment about her and Davidson. “Disappointed in your dating choices,” the user wrote, to which she replied, “Pretty let down by your wonky beard but thought possibly rude to say.”

March 5, 2019: More details about their relationship emerge. “Kate’s very into Pete,” an insider tells E! News. “You wouldn’t necessarily put them together, but it’s working for now. She’s excited about getting to know him and hoping to spend more time with him.” The source added, “He always has her laughing, and that’s a good feeling to have. They talk a lot and never run out of things to say.”
The 2019 Women’s March is scheduled to take place this Saturday. The main event will start in Washington, D.C.’s Freedom Plaza, where demonstrators are expected to rally and eventually march toward the Trump Hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue.
But although Saturday marks the third Women’s March, attendance is projected to be much lower than the previous two years. Much of this is because Women’s March, the organization behind the event, has been marred with controversy after its chairs were accused of a number of issues, ranging from mismanagement to anti-Semitism. Many supporters and partner groups, including the Democratic National Committee, the Southern Poverty Law Center, and EMILY’s List, have pulled out of the upcoming D.C. schedule.

January 2017The movement began with rage: a lawyer in Hawaii, Teresa Shook, and a fashion executive in Brooklyn, Bob Bland, took to Facebook to urge friends to protest Donald Trump’s inauguration. Soon they joined forces, and more women got involved, and together got the permits and port-a-potties and everything else that was needed to stage the largest single-day protest in the nation’s history, the day after President Trump’s inauguration. While there were critiques that the white women were easily jumping into a space where black women had worked for decades, organizers—led by Bland and her other national co-chairs, Tamika Mallory, and Linda Sarsour—worked to build an inclusive coalition of women of all ages, ethnicities, religions, locations, sexualities. Glamour honored the national organizers as Women of the Year for sparking a global movement.
February 2018CNN’s Jake Tapper tweets clips from acontroversial speech given by Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan, in which Farrakhan makes several anti-semitic comments. Tapper notes that Mallory was at the event and that she posted photos of it on Instagram. Criticism of Mallory, and other chairs connected to Farrakhan, spreads on social media.
March 2018The Women’s March organization issues a statement, saying, “Minister Farrakhan’s statements about Jewish, queer, and trans people are not aligned with the Women’s March Unity principles. The world Women’s March seeks to build is one free from anti-Semitism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, racism, and all forms of social violence.” However, many people take issue with the fact that the statement does not formally denounce Farrakhan. Some call for the co-chairs to step down.
Mallory addresses the backlash in a piece for News One.
October 2018Alyssa Milano brings the Farrakhan controversy up in an interview with The Advocate. Referring to the march’s chairs, she explains that it is “unfortunate that none of them have come forward against him at this point,” and says she will not speak at the next march: “Any time that there is any bigotry or anti-Semitism in that respect, it needs to be called out and addressed. I’m disappointed in the leadership of the Women’s March that they haven’t done it adequately.”
November 2018The Women’s March organization releases another statement, this time defending Mallory and Sarsour. “Women’s March wouldn’t exist without the leadership of women of color, and we stand with Linda Sarsour and Tamika Mallory,” the statement reads. “Women’s March leaders reject anti-Semitism in all its forms. We recognize the danger of hate rhetoric by public figures. We want to say emphatically that we do not support or endorse statements made by Minister Louis Farrakhan about women, Jewish and LGBTQ communities.”
Sarsour also speaks out through a statement on November 20, saying, “Every member of our movement matters to us—including our incredible Jewish and LGBTQ members. We are deeply sorry for the harm we have caused, but we see you, we love you, and we are fighting with you.”
Meanwhile, the Women’s March discloses financial records to several publications after being hit with accusations of mismanagement. The organization’s chief operating officer, Rachel O’Leary Carmona, said in a statement quoted in the Intercept that releasing the documents was part of a transparency effort. “The power of the Women’s March is in our people. We might not have the most funding, but we have millions of passionate, strong, and diverse women who deeply believe in building an intersectional women’s movement so that we can all get free,” she said.
December 2018Tablet Magazine, an online Jewish publication, publishes a lengthy, 10,000-plus word article that highlights many of the issues surrounding the march and its leaders. The piece accuses Mallory and Perez of making anti-Semitic remarks on more than one occasion.
In a New York Times article a few weeks later, Brooklyn-based activist Vanessa Wruble says she was pushed out of the organization and discusses some of the early schism in the Women’s March. She implied her Jewish identity played a role in her ouster. She has since gone on to help launch another women’s organization called March On.
January 2019Mallory and Bland make an appearance on The View to discuss the accusations against the organization. Both deny an anti-semitic exchange that reportedly took place. In a heated exchange with Meghan McCain, Mallory says that Farrakhan’s words were not her own: “It’s not the way that I speak, it is not how I organize. And I think it is very clear, over the 20 years of my own personal activism, my own personal track record, of who I am. And I should never be judged through the lens of a man.”
Following the segment, the Daily Beast reports that many of the groups that partnered with the 2018 march would not return for 2019, and that one of the largest supporters, the Democratic National Committee, had pulled out.
Despite the controversies, the Women’s March posted in a tweet on Jan. 16 that while the event would relocate because of snow, it would continue. But the conflict has affected other marches outside of Washington, D.C., most notably in New York, where there will be two separate marches since organizers could not come to an agreement. (A third rally, organized by Rise and Resist will take place in Grand Central Station, designed to be more inclusive and accessible for people with disabilities.) Some advocates say women still shouldn’t sit out the events on the 19th: “March with one of them,” Gloria Steinem told the New York Times, “But march.”
Alison Brie and Chrissy Metz have nothing but love for each other after all those bizarre rumors from last night’s Golden Globes.
Don’t know what I’m talking about? Here’s quick recap. Outlets started reporting Sunday night that Metz called Brie a “b-tch” during a Facebook Live pre-show interview on the Globes red carpet. “Do you know a girl named Alison Brie?” one of the hosts asked Metz during the chat. “Do I?” the This Is Us star responded before mumbling something inaudible that the Internet heard as “She’s such a b-tch.”
Metz quickly took to Twitter and shut this story down, though. “It’s terribly unfortunate anyone would think much less run a story that was completely fabricated,” the actress wrote. “I adore Alison and would never say a bad word about her, or anyone! I sure hope she knows my heart.”
Several responses from Brie, Metz, and people in their inner circles followed shortly after this. Below, check out a timeline of quotes and posts about this incident that prove, once and for all, there’s no bad blood between Metz and Brie:
The original statement from Metz’s rep, Cheryl McLean. “Chrissy has nothing but admiration and respect for Alison and, frankly, every fellow actor who must wade through this much-too-common attempt to create a feud among colleagues,” the statement reads, according to USA Today. “This ‘story’ is a complete fabrication and deserves no further momentum.”
Metz’s first interview about what happened. “I’m so distraught and upset,” she told People. “I don’t speak about anyone like that, I don’t speak like that. I love Alison, I follow her. … When I was walking up they said, ‘Do you know Alison,’ and I said, ‘Oh boy, do I.’ I love her.”
This Is Us director Ken Olin comes to Metz’s defense. “Folks, I’ve known @ChrissyMetz for three years and I have NEVER heard her say a mean word about anyone. Move on,” he tweeted.
Brie’s initial response. “But why?,” the GLOW actress said to Vanity Fair writer and reporter Nicole Sperling when asked about the rumor. “I know her. I saw her on the carpet and I told her how beautiful she looked.”
And, then, her sweet post about Metz on Instagram Story. “Nothing but love for @chrissymetz!!” Brie posted, alongside a photo of herself and Metz. “Rumors can’t keep us down!”
Metz saying she and Brie texted about the situation. She told Us Weekly she and Brie have already cleared the air. “It’s unfortunate people want to say stuff that they don’t know is true or not. Alison and I obviously are friends,” Metz said. “She knows that I would never say something like that…It’s kind of terrible. So I’m glad that … I mean, I know the truth. If you actually listen to the video, I don’t say anything. It’s actually not me speaking about that, so it’s unfortunate.”
The Facebook co-host clarifies Metz’ comments. AJ Gibson, who interviewed Metz on the carpet, tells People he believes she called Brie a “babe,” not a “b-tch.” “While interviewing Chrissy during the HFPA Presents: Globes Red Carpet LIVE pre-show and as our conversation came to its natural conclusion, we were told to wrap and toss over to our co-hosts on another portion of the carpet, who were on standby with Alison Brie,” Gibson told People in a statement. “I jokingly asked Chrissy if she knew who Alison was, as a way to transition into the ‘toss’ and she played along. She then referred to Alison as a ‘babe’ and the fun exchange ended.”
He continued, “Chrissy is an absolute sweetheart and an immensely talented and kindhearted woman. On the heels of the powerful show of solidarity via the Time’s Up movement amongst women and allies in the industry on the same Golden Globes Red Carpet just one year ago, I can’t imagine a scenario where Chrissy would want anything more than to support her female counterparts…It’s more important than ever that we ALL support and love on one another and from my position on that stage, a few feet from Chrissy, it was clear to me that she had nothing but love for Alison.”

People still aren’t over the altercation between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B that went down at New York Fashion Week on September 7. For the uninitiated, here’s a quick backstory: According to several outlets, Cardi B reportedly became upset with Minaj after she heard the “Barbie Tingz” rapper was criticizing her skills as a mother. TMZ captured video of Cardi B shouting and lunging toward someone believed to be Minaj. Shoes were thrown. It was a heaping pile of drama that tabloids and social media users alike ate up the next day—and the days that followed. What started out as a media-fabricated feud between the two rapers quickly morphed into something real.
But there wasn’t always bad blood between Minaj and Cardi B. In fact, it was around this time last year that Minaj publicly congratulated Cardi B about “Bodak Yellow” reaching number one. The journey from then to now is intense, so let’s revisit it and hope these talented women reach a resolution soon. And by that, we mean a duet.

May 2017: Minaj seemingly takes a swipe at Cardi B in Katy Perry’s song “Swish Swish.” “Silly rap beefs just get me more checks / My life is a movie, I’m never off set / Me and my amigos (no, not Offset),” she says, which many took as a reference to Cardi B’s husband (Migos rapper Offset).

May 2017: After “Swish Swish,” dropped, Cardi B rants on Instagram Live about “idols becoming rivals.” “I hate this shit, I really, really do,” Cardi said, according to People. “A bitch like me, I was happier when I was macking in the hood. This shit right here is so fake. When I used to be a regular bitch from the Bronx — a hood bitch — when somebody used to be fake to me it was cool because I could approach a bitch and punch her right in her closure… Now that I’m in the industry, you don’t work like that, just have to watch shit go, watch shit go.”
June 2017: Cardi B tweets a friendly reminder not to compare her to other artists.
July 2017: Minaj low-key shows her support for Cardi B by dancing to “Bodak Yellow” in a nightclub.
August 2017: Minaj lays down a verse on London on da Track’s song “No Flags” (featuring Offset and 21 Savage) that some viewed as shade toward Cardi B. “I heard these labels are trying to make another me / Everything you’re getting little hoe is because of me,” Minaj raps in the song. The timing was interesting, seeing as how Cardi B had just inked a deal with Atlantic Records. Minaj cleared the air, though, when she tweeted that she wrote the verse several months prior.
Soon after, Cardi B tweeted, “I don’t bother with these hoes, Don’t let these hoes BOTHER Me,” which fans viewed as a response to this drama. (These are, admittedly, just lyrics to “Bodak Yellow,” so maybe people read too much into the tweet.)
August 2017: Cardi B clears up any rumors she’s feuding with other women in the industry. “I mean, I don’t really want problems with anybody,” she told Billboard. “I don’t want to be, like, queen. I don’t wanna be no this. I don’t wanna be no that. I just wanna make music and make money. I really don’t have time to look at other women, what they doing. I’m myself, you know what I’m saying? Nobody got a problem with me. I don’t got a problem with them. If somebody got a problem I don’t really got to do that whole industry beef. Like, you know, I get it popping with these hands.”

September 2017: Cardi B says a few pointed things in her verse for G. Eazy’s song “No Limit.” “My career takin’ off / These hoes jogging in place / Swear these hoes run they mouth / How these hoes out of shape? / Can you stop with all the subs? / Bitch I ain’t Jared,” she says. In an interview on The Breakfast Club, Cardi B said the song wasn’t about anyone in particular and denied any beef with Minaj. “She ain’t never f—ed my man,” she said.

September 2017: Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” hits number one, making her the first female rapper to do so since Lauryn Hill in 1998. “Congratulations to a fellow NEW YAWKA on a RECORD BREAKING achievement. Bardi, this is the only thing that matters!!! Enjoy it??? @iamcardib,” Minaj tweeted at Cardi B, to which she responded, “Thank you!! This means sooo much coming from you!! ❤️.”
October 2017: Cardi B and Nicki Minaj are featured on the same song, “MotorSport,” alongside the band Migos. In a stream of since-deleted tweets, Minaj shut down any rumblings that she had an issue with Cardi’s appearance on the song.
Cardi later claimed in an interview that Minaj’s verse wasn’t finished when she jumped on “MotorSport.” Keep that in mind for what happens next.
April 2018: Cardi B and Minaj give separate interviews to Beats 1 addressing their relationship and supposed “feud.” “I just feel like it’s really internet-made-up,” Cardi B said. “I really feel like fans and people, they really want to see that happened, because it’s really entertaining to see people beef. It’s entertaining. Like, I ain’t gonna front, when Nicki and Remy [Ma] was beefing, everyone was tuning and asking, ‘What’s next? What’s next?’…But I don’t really have the time for that. If you not f—ing my man, or if you’re not taking my money from me, if you’re not stopping my money, then I don’t really give a f— about you.”
Minaj was a little more direct with her interview. “The only thing with Cardi that really, really, really hurt my feelings was the first interview she did after ‘MotorSport’ came out,” she said. “The first interview she did after ‘MotorSport’ came out, it just really hurt me. She looked so aggravated and angry and the only thing she said was, ‘Oh, I didn’t hear that. I didn’t hear that verse.’ I was like, what? … That really, really hurt me. I really, fully supported [Cardi] and up until this recent interview I did, I had never seen her show me genuine love in an interview and I can imagine how many girls wish they could’ve been on a song with Nicki Minaj.”

At the end of the month, Cardi B tweets cryptically, “Imagine subbing me but you blocked me from all social media.” And it seems, at least for a short period of time, that Minaj had blocked Cardi B on Twitter.
September 2018: The fight between Minaj and Cardi B goes down at the Harper’s Bazaar Icons Party during New York Fashion Week. Details are fuzzy, despite the fact there’s video footage of the altercation. In an Instagram post, Cardi B explains the straw that broke the camel’s back was hearing Minaj talking smack about her baby with Offset, Kulture. (For what it’s worth, Minaj denies saying anything at all.)
“I’ve let a lot of shit slide! I let you sneak diss me, I let you lie on me, I let you attempt to stop my bags, f–k up the way I eat! You’ve threaten other artists in the industry, told them if they work with me you’ll stop f–king with them!! I let you talk big shit about me,” Cardi B wrote.
“I just want people to know that Onika Tanya Maraj has never, will never… speak ill on anyone’s child. I am not a clown. That’s clown shit,” Minaj said about the altercation several days later on her radio show.
September 2018: In a final move of pettiness, Cardi B and Nicki Minaj choose to publicly endorse different Democratic governor candidates for New York.
