Kate Beckinsale and Pete Davidson’s Relationship: A Complete Timeline

Kate Beckinsale and Pete Davidson‘s relationship is the most surprising celebrity coupling to happen since, well, Davidson’s relationship with Ariana Grande. Everyone was thrown for a loop when the Saturday Night Live star and the British actress were seen flirting at a post–Golden Globes party. They’ve kept things low-key since then, but there have been a few public outings that suggest their affection is at least growing. From kissing at a hockey game (sorry, Antoni) to a rumored vacation with friends, these two are shaping up to be the It Couple of 2019. If they’re even dating, of course. Keep in mind neither has formally confirmed their relationship status. But they’re captivating the entire Internet, even still.

Below, a complete timeline of Kate Beckinsale and Pete Davidson’s whirlwind romance:

January 8, 2019: Beckinsale and Davidson are spotted leaving a Golden Globes after-party together. “They were being very flirty together. They were sitting very close on the outside patio seating,” a source told Page Six. “Kate had her hand on his knee, and she kept laughing at all his jokes.”

January 10, 2019: Beckinsale slyly responds to an Instagram commenter who took a dig at her and Davidson. “Dear heavens, Kate. Not Pete Davidson,” the person wrote underneath a photo Beckinsale uploaded of her mom, Judy Loe. She simply responded, “No, that’s my mother. Easy mistake.”

January 14, 2019: Davidson low-key references Beckinsale at one of his stand-up shows. Us Weekly reports that when an audience member shouted Beckinsale’s name, Davidson “smiled sheepishly” and said one very telling word: “yes.”

February 4, 2019: Davidson and Beckinsale are photographed holding hands yet again.

February 8, 2019: Davidson’s ex-fiancée Ariana Grande gives his relationship with Beckinsale her seal of approval. When asked by a TMZ cameraman what she thinks of the union, she responded, “So cute!”

February 10, 2019: Rumors spread the two are planning a holiday together. Specifically, a trip with friends to somewhere like Hawaii or Bali. “They want to keep things low-key—Kate is recovering from being hospitalized and Pete just went through a really tough time very publicly—but it’s hard as they can’t keep their hands off each other in public,” a source told The Sun. “They’re planning a holiday to get away from the cameras and get to know each other better. They want to take the pressure off and see where the relationship will go.”

February 12, 2019: A story comes out in Heat magazine with more details about Beckinsale and Davidson. “Pete is absolutely besotted…. He’s been showering her with gifts and burning up her phone,” a source told the publication. However, this person doesn’t seem to think the relationship will last. “She’ll get bored eventually and move on like she always does,” the source added. “That’ll leave Pete nursing a broken heart because he always falls hard and fast like this. Look at what happened with Ariana.”

February 16, 2019: Beckinsale shuts down yet another stranger who made a rude comment about her and Davidson. “Disappointed in your dating choices,” the user wrote, to which she replied, “Pretty let down by your wonky beard but thought possibly rude to say.”

March 4, 2019: Beckinsale and Davidson have their first public kiss. At a New York Rangers hockey game. This pic of the two of them plus Queer Eye‘s Antoni Porowski has since become a viral meme.

March 5, 2019: More details about their relationship emerge. “Kate’s very into Pete,” an insider tells E! News. “You wouldn’t necessarily put them together, but it’s working for now. She’s excited about getting to know him and hoping to spend more time with him.” The source added, “He always has her laughing, and that’s a good feeling to have. They talk a lot and never run out of things to say.”

Pete Davidson’s Joke About Ariana Grande Complimenting His Penis Is…A Lot

Pete Davidson is back to making awkward jokes about his ex-fiancée, Ariana Grande. He first did this in October, when news broke about the couple’s split. “Does anybody have any open rooms? Looking for a roommate?” he said during a comedy show at the time, referring to the apartment the two shared that he, ultimately, had to leave. Now, he’s turning his attention to all those comments Grande made about his penis.

“I don’t like that she talked all that shit for my penis,” Davidson said during a set at the Tarrytown Music Hall in New York on Saturday (January 12), according to People. “Everything is huge to her. Why would she tell everyone that I have a huge penis? So that every girl who sees my dick for the rest of my life is disappointed.”

These quotes are….a lot, to say the least. For context, Grande made cracks about Davidson’s penis on two separate occasions: in a since-deleted tweet from June and during her “Thank U, Next” video when she wrote “HUUUUUGE” next to a photo of him.

Some people on Twitter aren’t exactly here for Davidson’s comments. They take issue with him claiming to be offended by Grande’s comments when he’s made several uncomfortable jokes about her body—like joking about switching her birth control with Tic Tacs and saying he’s “never been prouder” than when Bill Clinton appeared to be ogling her at Aretha Franklin’s funeral.

Others, however, came to Davidson’s defense, saying he’s a comedian and probably didn’t mean any harm by these jokes.

Regardless of intent, though, I just have one thing to say about this entire situation: Thank you, next.

Ariana Grande Just Responded to Pete Davidson’s Instagram About Fans Bullying Him

Pete Davidson just gave a rare public statement about his breakup with Ariana Grande. The Saturday Night Live comedian took to Instagram on Monday, December 3, and revealed he’s been bullied by fans, both online and in person, for roughly nine months. (He and Grande announced their split in mid-October.)

“I’ve kept my mouth shut,” his statement reads. “Never mentioned any names, never said a word about anyone or anything. I’m trying to understand how when something happens to a guy the whole world just trashes him without any facts or frame of reference. Especially in today’s climate where everyone loves to be offended and upset it truly is mind boggling.”

After mentioning the bullying, Davidson continues, “I’ve spoken about BPD and being suicidal publicly only in hopes that it will help bring awareness and help kids like myself who don’t want to be on this Earth. I just want you guys to know. No matter how hard the Internet or anyone tries to make me kill myself. I won’t. I’m upset I even have to say this. To all those holding me down and seeing this for what it is, I see you and I love you.”

Grande replied to Davidson’s statement via a direct message, presumably with a fan. “I have never encouraged anything but forgiveness,” she wrote. “I care deeply about Pete and his health and would never encourage any kind of mistreatment. I haven’t seen any of it because I’m blocked, but I want you to know that I would never want or encourage that ever and you should know that. I care about him deeply.”

These are the first incredibly forthcoming messages Davidson and Grande have released about their breakup. Prior to this, Davidson made a few jokes in standup routines and on Saturday Night Live. Grande, meanwhile, stayed relatively mum until the release of her song “Thank U, Next,” which includes lyrics about Davidson.

VMAs 2018: Pete Davidson’s Bracelet Is an Adorable Tribute to Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson aren’t shy about making public proclamations of love for each other. From matching tattoos to an endless array of Instagram PDAs, the two really want the world to know exactly how they feel about one another. So it’s no surprise that the newly engaged duo went all out for their red-carpet debut at Monday’s MTV VMAs 2018.

Fans who were able to take their eyes off the couple’s non-stop love fest noticed an intriguing detail on Davidson’s bracelet: small beads that listed the initials “AGD.” If you’ve been following the romantic chronicles of Pete and Ariana, you’ll recognize that those initials stand for Ariana Grande-Davidson, which as Ariana revealed in a recent interview, will be her initials after they’re married.

“Yeah, [I’m going to hyphenate it to Ariana Grande-Davidson],” Grande told Ebro Darden during a Beats 1 interview on Friday. So what does that mean for her stage name? As it turns out, Grande’s put a lot of thought into that too. “I don’t know. I feel like I’d eventually like to be just Ariana,” she added. “Isn’t that sick? I feel like it’s got a ring to it. But also Grande, I have to keep Grande because of my grandpa. I think of him with everything I do in it, and he was so proud of our name … I’m going keep it. Never mind. We’ll talk later. I have a lot of decisions to make.”

One decision that she has made is the timeline for her upcoming nuptials. While some fans might suggest that Pete’s bracelet means the couple has already tied the knot, Ariana made it clear that their wedding is still over five months away. “Less than five: Years? Yeah,” Grande said. “Months more, years less.”

Early in the show, Ariana had already picked up the award for Best Pop Video for her hit single “No Tears Left to Cry,” using the opportunity to tell Pete how she feels about him. “Thank you for existing,” she said.
