Timothée Chalamet and Lily-Rose Depp are both beautiful actors with high cheekbones, careers on the rise, and impeccable style. Naturally, they have a lot to talk about. On top of that, they’re starring alongside each other in the upcoming Shakespearean-inspired flick The King (out November 2 on Netflix). So when people started speculating there was something more going on between the two, it was easy for fans to become smitten with their potential coupledom. The rumors have only intensified after they walked the red carpet for The King at the Venice Film Festival together this month. Most recently, a photo of the couple involved in a very intense makeout session has gone viral.

However, after over a year of dating, Chalamet and Depp have reportedly called it quits. Below is a breakdown of their fleeting romance in chronological order.

June 2018

Principal photography begins on The King. This, presumably, is around when costars Chalamet and Depp first meet.

A fan caught Chalamet and Depp going for a stroll in Central Park in New York City, which is when speculation began that the two were an item.

October 2018

The next month, Depp and Chalamet take their relationship to the next level. Like a scene out of a cliche romantic comedy, the couple is seen kissing in the pouring rain. Prior to this, the couple reportedly got dinner at Blue Ribbon Chicken located in New York City’s Lower East Side.

Also in October, Chalamet and Depp were spotted arm in arm in NYC while they got their caffeine fix at a coffee shop.

December 2018

The couple rounds out the year in Paris looking chic as ever in ‘90s-inspired winter coats and tinted sunglasses.

January 2019

Nominated for Best Supporting Actor in Beautiful Boy, Chalamet is asked at the Golden Globes about his relationship status on the red carpet, but dodges the questions. When he’s specifically asked whether he plans to meet up with Depp post-show he answered, “I’m here with my mom.”

September 2019

The couple makes their red-carpet debut at the Venice Film Festival. First, they attend a photo call and later promote The King on the red carpet. Chalamet wore a satin Haider Ackermann suit, while Depp opted for a dusty pink Chanel strapless number. While there was no evident PDA, the photos captures them smiling and gazing into each other’s eyes.

A few days later, the costars are spotted making out aboard a yacht in Italy. The photo has since gone viral as a base for some pretty hilarious memes.

According to a report by Us Weekly on April 25, Timothée Chalamet and Lily-Rose Depp have broken up after over a year of dating (and kissing on boats). Chalamet was reportedly referred to as single in the May issue of British Vogue.

On September 10, Lively and Reynolds pulled off their secret ceremony at the Boone Hall Plantation in South Carolina. People reported Florence Welch, of Florence and the Machine, who performed at the reception. “Ryan and Blake wanted the event to look and feel like home,” wedding planner Tara Guerard said. “We created the charm, elegance and magic of times past. It was a truly beautiful celebration.” The bride wore Marchesa, while the groom chose Burberry.

“When Ryan first saw her, his face broke into a huge smile that crinkled his eyes,” a source said. “They just stared at each other with absolute love. Their faces were lit up with the candlelight, and it looked like something out of a romance movie.”

Lively opened up about married life to Lucky magazine. “I was recently asked how my style has changed since I got married, as if I was living under some sort of dictatorship,” she said. “I should hope I dress differently at 25 than I did when I graduated high school. I hope I never stop changing.”

January 7, 2005. And then, just like that, the fairy tale was over. “We would like to announce that after seven years together we have decided to formally separate. For those who follow these sorts of things, we would like to explain that our separation is not the result of any of the speculation reported by the tabloid media. This decision is the result of much thoughtful consideration,” Pitt and Aniston said in a joint statement to People at the time. “We happily remain committed and caring friends with great love and admiration for one another. May 2005. Pitt had already filmed Mr. and Mrs. Smith with Angelina Jolie in 2004 and soon their relationship would become a focal point in the press. He was soon photographed with Jolie and her young son, Maddox, in Kenya, sparking rumors and the beginning of the Brangelina era. The two actors also starred in a photo shoot for W titled “Domestic Bliss” where they portrayed a happy family life.

September 2005. Aniston appears on the cover of Vanity Fair and gives one of her most famous interviews. “It was extremely hurtful to Jen that he was seen with another woman so quickly after they were separated,” her friend Andrea Bendewald said in the story.

“A man divorcing would never be accused of choosing career over children,” Aniston said of the accusations that her not wanting a child caused the split. “That really pissed me off. I’ve never in my life said I didn’t want to have children. I did and I do and I will! The women that inspire me are the ones who have careers and children; why would I want to limit myself? I’ve always wanted to have children, and I would never give up that experience for a career. I want to have it all.”

She references an interview Jolie also gave to Vogue, where she implied she and Pitt fell in love on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. (“I think we found this strange friendship and partnership that kind of just suddenly happened. I think a few months in I realized, ‘God, I can’t wait to get to work,'” Jolie said specifically.)

“There was stuff printed there that was definitely from a time when I was unaware that it was happening,” Aniston told Vogue about Jolie’s interview. “I felt those details were a little inappropriate to discuss…That stuff about how she couldn’t wait to get to work every day? That was really uncool.”

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel's Relationship: A Complete Timeline


A second source corroborated this to E!, saying Timberlake and Wainwright’s relationship is “innocent.” “They’re filming a movie together and it was a group of people hanging out,” the source added. “There is nothing going on between them.”

A report published on Monday, November 25 on E! outlines how Biel is reportedly dealing with the situation and what’s next for the couple. “They are downplaying everything and trying to laugh it off as nothing. But it was definitely inappropriate and something that would make any wife uncomfortable,” the source says. “He had too much to drink and got carried away.” That being said, this insider assures fans Biel and Timberlake are “going to move on from this.”

Adds a source, “Their marriage will survive. He feels guilty and will make it up to her. She is very good to him and he knows how lucky he is. He says it was not a big deal, they were all hanging out together and that’s the end of the story.”

September 18: E! reports on new details about Lovato and Johnson’s weekend date, saying that the two went to dinner in Los Angeles, and he had her “laughing the entire date.” They are reportedly texting each other and planning for a second date. “She has always had a huge crush on Mike, and once they met in person, there was an instant connection,” the source says.

September 22: The romance seems to heat up. During an interview with E!, Johnson spoke about the budding romance for the first time, singing Lovato’s praises while letting fans know that they’re taking things slow. “I’m just getting to know Demi,” he said. “I think she’s absolutely fantastic, and I don’t want no pressure on her, no pressure on me—we’re just trying to get to know each other. That’s all.”

Still, he made it clear that even though they’re taking their time to get to know each other, Lovato is the only girl in his phone right now. When E! asked if he was seeing any other women, Johnson said, “No, it’s just Demi. That’s the only person I’m talking to.” Seems like very casual exclusivity.

September 30: Johnson spills more details about his relationship with Lovato on Ben Higgins and Ashley Iaconetti’s podcast. “We’ve gone on more than one date,” Johnson said, according to People. “I like her tattoos—we both have a lot of tattoos. Demi has more than me.”

He continued, “And, uh, she kisses really well.”

Johnson also added that Lovato was the one who made the first move on him. “She definitely was the aggressor, you know, I find it incredibly sexy,” he said. “I love that, like, ‘Come at me. You want me, come at me.’ I want you, I’m [going to] come at you. I’m coming at her as well.”

October 14:

People reports that Johnson and Lovato are “done.” That same day, during an appearance on Good Morning America’s third hour, the Bachelorette alum asked Keke Palmer out on the air. “I made a mistake, I don’t like dating in public,” he said. “But, if I were to ask you, if we could go on a date…?” Palmer didn’t give him an answer, however.

E! News reports that Johnson and Lovato’s relationship is totally done. “Demi and Mike’s fling has fizzled out and they aren’t seeing each other or texting like they were before,” their source said. “Nothing happened, it just ran its course.”

“Demi was definitely interested in Mike at one point, but it was short-lived and she wasn’t ever planning on dating him seriously,” the source added.

Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson’s Relationship: A Complete Timeline


The roller coaster that is Miley Cyrus‘s romantic life roars on. Just a few weeks after the “Slide Away” singer ended her relationship with Kaitlynn Carter, she’s moved on to someone else: Australian singer Cody Simpson. Keep in mind that both of these unions happened after Cyrus announced her divorce from Liam Hemsworth in August. I know, a lot is going on.

But back to the romance at hand: Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson. Yes, it seems the speculation that these two were an item actually had some weight. On Tuesday, October 8, Cyrus posted a selfie to Instagram from a hospital bed (she’s being treated for tonsillitis) in which she explicitly calls Simpson her boyfriend. “BF coming to visit me at the hospy,” she wrote, before sharing several pics and videos of Simpson cuddling with her and playing the guitar. So I guess this means things are official?

But how did we get here? Let’s take a look back at how their relationship formed:

February 2012: Simpson and Cyrus go way back—they’ve been friends for a while and have both run in the same circles from time to time. But it seems Simpson had a crush on Cyrus that dates back even further. People surfaced an old video in which Simpson says Cyrus was “his childhood celebrity crush” and confessed that he “knew all the words to her songs, I’m not gonna lie—I’m not ashamed about it at all.”

December 2015: Over the years Simpson and Cyrus have struck up a pretty close-knit friendship. Simpson talked about how tight they were in 2015, telling GQ Australia, “Miley is one of my best friends and she helps with some of that transitional stuff—trying to escape your childhood.
