Channing Tatum and Jessie J Are Reportedly Back Together

Well, that was quick. Stories broke about a month ago that Channing Tatum and singer Jessie J had split—and now they’re reportedly already back together.

The couple had been dating for just over a year when People confirmed the breakup in December. “There wasn’t any drama. They just decided to part ways and are still good friends,” a source said at the time.

And now, apparently, they’re back together. “They took a few weeks apart but ultimately decided they really care about each other,” a source tells E!. Their source also said the two “seem very happy to be spending time together again.”

Channing Tatum and Jessie J’s relationship was his first high-profile one after splitting with his wife Jenna Dewan in 2018. Tatum and Jessie J appeared to make their relationship Instagram-official in November 2018 when Tatum posted from one of her concerts, writing, “This woman just poured her heart out on stage at the Royal Albert Hall. Whoever was there got to witness something special. Wow.”

They endured some bumps early on in the relationship, like when fans started calling out the resemblance between Dewan and Jessie J. The singer clapped back with a powerfully-worded post on Instagram. “There is a story I have seen be re-written over and over again in the past few weeks that talks about myself being compared directly to another beautiful woman regarding our looks and who people think is prettier,” she wrote, in part. “I am here to talk about the headline and the way the story has been written, I have continuously tried to find something positive from this article…I am yet to…We are all beautiful. We are enough just the way we are. Be the best you!!! You can’t wake up and be anyone but YOU. So please love your face, your body, your mind and your heart. Be good to yourself. Be good to those around you.”

Perhaps the fact that they didn’t delete their old posts about each other should have been our first clue that this breakup wouldn’t stick. Regardless, here’s hoping everyone is happy.

Here's Why Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum Chose to Divorce

In her new book, Gracefully You: How to Live Your Best Life Every Day, Jenna Dewan reveals the reasons she and Channing Tatum decided to split up in April 2018.

“I’d come to realize the dynamic I was in wasn’t serving me nor was it serving my daughter,” the actor-dancer writes, according to People. “First and foremost I had to accept the realization this isn’t working and had moved into hurting.”

In the book Dewan says she and Tatum decided to call it quits the night before she started filming World of Dance season two. They were able to keep news of the split hush-hush during most of production.

“The public saw Channing and I in this idealized romanticized light,” Dewan also writes in her book. “This made things difficult for me because I like being as honest and real as I can.”

Earlier this month Dewan told People that she was “gutted” by her marriage to Tatum ending. “It was so difficult for me,” she said. “It was the loss of an idealistic future for myself and my life. What does that now look like for me? Where do I begin? I met him when I was 24. I didn’t know life without Chan.

“It was a hard journey of growth and change,” she continued. “Ultimately, now I can honestly say that I’m living in a very joyful new place in my life, and I’m happy about it.”

That joyful new place in her life includes a relationship with Broadway actor Steve Kazee and a baby on the way. Dewan confirmed she and Kazee were expecting on September 24 via Instagram. “Becoming a mother is quite simply the absolute best most incredible thing that has ever happened to me,” she wrote. “@stevekazee you are a gift from above and i couldn’t be more excited to be expanding our family together…! Thank you guys for all the love!!” See the post for yourself, above.

Jenna Dewan Just Got Super Candid About Her Divorce From Channing Tatum

Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum first announced their split back in April 2018, and officially filed for divorce last October. Since then, they’ve both moved on to new relationships—her with Steve Kazee and him with singer Jessie J. They’ve remained pretty quiet about the breakup as they continue co-parent their daughter, Everly.

In a new interview with People, ahead of the publication of her wellness book Gracefully You: How to Live Your Best Life Every Day, she opens up about this new phase in her life—which includes a baby on the way for her and Kazee. “I always say no one gets married to hopefully get divorced,” Dewan says.

The actor says she really struggled when her and Tatum first separated: “I was just gutted. It was so difficult for me. It was the loss of an idealistic future for myself and my life. What does that now look like for me? Where do I begin? I met him when I was 24, I didn’t know life without Chan.”

“It was a hard journey of growth and change,” Dewan continues. “Ultimately now I can honestly say that I’m living in a very joyful new place in my life, and I’m happy about it.”

“You would never expect your life to take a turn the way it does,” she says of where she is now. “But embracing it and starting fresh and figuring out what you want in life and what means a lot to you and what’s meaningful, what is going to make you happy. I’m grateful that I now am at a place where I understand myself and what I want and I’m happy about this new chapter. I’m in a place of joy.”

Dewan says that everyone is still adjusting, but that she and Tatum are focused on their daughter. “We’re all aware that it’s a new normal, we’re all getting used to it,” she reveals. “You can still have a relationship and just because the forms change as to who you are to each other, it doesn’t take away from the love that we had or that we shared all those years.”

Jenna Dewan’s book, Gracefully You: How to Live Your Best Life Every Day, drops on October 22.

Amanda Bynes Says She Fought to Get Channing Tatum in *She's the Man*

Apparently, we have Amanda Bynes to thank for Channing Tatum’s acting career — well, according to Amanda Bynes, at least.

In her new interview with Paper magazine, the actress reveals she fought hard for Tatum to appear in her 2006 movie She’s the Man, which arguably launched his career. Prior to this, Tatum had done a few bit parts and, as Bynes points out, a Mountain Dew commercial.

“I totally fought for Channing [to get cast in] that movie because he wasn’t famous yet,” Bynes tells the publication. “He’d just done a Mountain Dew commercial and I was like, ‘This guy’s a star — every girl will love him!’ But [the producers] were like, ‘He’s so much older than all of you!’ And I was like, ‘It doesn’t matter! Trust me!'”

Thank God this happened, TBH. I mean, can you picture anyone else besides Tatum delivering such iconic lines in She’s the Man like “I’ve got to go change my feet?” No! He was born to play that role! Cheers to Bynes — and, well, Mountain Dew — for noticing his talent before the rest of the world.

This is one of the lighter anecdotes Bynes shares in her chat with Paper, which outlines her former substance abuse issues and eyebrow-raising behavior that made her tabloid fodder in 2013.

“I’ve been sober for almost four years now,” Bynes tells Paper, later adding, “I have no fear of the future. I’ve been through the worst and came out the other end and survived it so I just feel like it’s only up from here.”

Jenna Dewan Has Officially Filed for Divorce From Channing Tatum

Back in April, Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum announced that they were separating after nearly nine years of marriage—and they did so in one of the nicest break-up statements ever: “Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love each other, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now,” the couple wrote in joint social media messages. Now, the split is one step closer to becoming official: Dewan filed for divorced this week in Los Angeles, citing “irreconcilable difference.”

The Blast reportedly obtained documents filed by Dewan’s attorney Samantha Spector. In them, Dewan has allegedly asked for joint legal and physical custody of their daughter, Everly Elizabeth Maiselle Tatum, in addition to child and spousal support. She’s also requested to have her named officially changed to Jenna Dewan. The outlet says it also had Tatum’s response, in which he has also asked for joint custody.

The news comes just a few weeks after media outlets reported that Tatum was seeing British singer Jessie J, after they had been spotted out and about together in Seattle and Salt Lake City. “It’s new, casual, and they’re having fun together,” a source told US Weekly.

Dewan, who met Tatum when the two of them starred in the dance drama Step Up, has been open about the separation, telling Women’s Health in a recent interview that the way it has unfolded in the public view has been “challenging.”

“I feel I’ve been on a wave of growth. It does look different; it’s a new normal, and I really think we’ll get used to that. It’s always challenging to go through a big change and have the whole world have an opinion about it,” she told the magazine.

When they first announced the split, the couple insisted that there were “no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision—just two best friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible.”

“We are still a family and will always be loving, dedicated parents to Everly,” they said.

Jenna Dewan Has a Message for Everyone Who Supported Her After Channing Tatum Split

Jenna Dewan knows just how heartbroken people were when she announced her separation from Channing Tatum earlier this month. Which is why Dewan dedicated her first Instagram post since the announcement to all of those well-wishing fans and followers, thanking them for their continued love and support throughout the difficult process.

“Thank you guys for all your love. Love you right back,” Dewan captioned Thursday night’s post. Supportive fans, of course, continued to shower the dancer and actress with love, leaving comments on the photo like “Beautiful soul, you are loved all over the world,” and “Beautiful. Praying for [your] family during this difficult time!!” among many (many) heart emojis.

Dewan and Tatum, both 37, announced that they were splitting in an equally heartfelt Instagram post that was uploaded to each of their accounts on April 2 and is still Tatum’s most recent post.

“We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now,” the couple, who tied the knot in July 2009 and share 4-year-old daughter Everly, wrote. “There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision—just two best friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible. We are still a family and will always be loving, dedicated parents to Everly. We won’t be commenting beyond this, and we thank you all in advance for respecting our family’s privacy. Sending lots of love to everyone, Chan&Jenna.”
