Channing Tatum and Jessie J Are Reportedly Back Together

Well, that was quick. Stories broke about a month ago that Channing Tatum and singer Jessie J had split—and now they’re reportedly already back together.

The couple had been dating for just over a year when People confirmed the breakup in December. “There wasn’t any drama. They just decided to part ways and are still good friends,” a source said at the time.

And now, apparently, they’re back together. “They took a few weeks apart but ultimately decided they really care about each other,” a source tells E!. Their source also said the two “seem very happy to be spending time together again.”

Channing Tatum and Jessie J’s relationship was his first high-profile one after splitting with his wife Jenna Dewan in 2018. Tatum and Jessie J appeared to make their relationship Instagram-official in November 2018 when Tatum posted from one of her concerts, writing, “This woman just poured her heart out on stage at the Royal Albert Hall. Whoever was there got to witness something special. Wow.”

They endured some bumps early on in the relationship, like when fans started calling out the resemblance between Dewan and Jessie J. The singer clapped back with a powerfully-worded post on Instagram. “There is a story I have seen be re-written over and over again in the past few weeks that talks about myself being compared directly to another beautiful woman regarding our looks and who people think is prettier,” she wrote, in part. “I am here to talk about the headline and the way the story has been written, I have continuously tried to find something positive from this article…I am yet to…We are all beautiful. We are enough just the way we are. Be the best you!!! You can’t wake up and be anyone but YOU. So please love your face, your body, your mind and your heart. Be good to yourself. Be good to those around you.”

Perhaps the fact that they didn’t delete their old posts about each other should have been our first clue that this breakup wouldn’t stick. Regardless, here’s hoping everyone is happy.

Jessie J Powerfully Clapped Back at People Comparing Her to Jenna Dewan

Jessie J and Channing Tatum seemed to make their rumored relationship Instagram official earlier this week when Tatum wrote a glowing post about the singer’s recent concert in London—and Tatum’s ex-wife Jenna Dewan appears to be moving on from their relationship happily as well.

But unfortunately, the world being how it is, the comparisons between the two women are still going strong. This all-too-common narrative is unfair to both women—and now Jessie J is speaking out about it.

In a lengthy Instagram post Friday (November 17), she said that although she doesn’t usually respond to untrue stories about her in the press, she was compelled to on this matter because she is “disappointed and embarrassed” that her name is even involved. “There is a story I have seen be re written over and over again in the past few weeks that talks about myself being compared directly to another beautiful woman regarding our looks and who people think is prettier,” she wrote. “I am here to talk about the headline and the way the story has been written, I have continuously tried to find something positive from this article…I am yet to.”

“Who feels good from this story? I know I don’t. Who does this story inspire? …? Is picking who is prettier and then continuing to say why a good activity to participate in? No,” she continued. “I’m talking in general too. Beyond this story. It’s constant with women. Picking favourites. Do the media do it with men? No. Are we learning a positive lesson from it? No.”

The singer goes on to talk about the effect that these sorts of stories have on young women and girls. “I don’t take stories like this lightly. Because I know the kind of impact it has on young girls reading it,” she says. “I spent so much of my childhood trying to be comfortable in my skin just like so many other little girls, and when I got older, decided to spend my career making lots of music to try and help / inspire myself and all other women to see beauty from the inside out and will continue to do so. Man does the world need it. Now more than ever.”

Though she never names Dewan, it’s pretty clear who she is talking about. (Tatum, for what it’s worth, liked his rumored girlfriend’s post.)

For her part, Dewan wrote, “Positive vibes only” in response to a commenter who made a remark about the two women.

Jessie J’s closing words are definitely something all women can take to heart.

“We are all beautiful. We are enough just the way we are. Be the best you!!! You can’t wake up and be anyone but YOU. So please love your face, your body, your mind and your heart. Be good to yourself. Be good to those around you.”

Jenna Dewan Responded to People Who Say She Looks Just Like Jessie J

When news broke a few weeks ago that Channing Tatum was dating pop singer Jessie J, the comparisons to his ex-wife Jenna Dewan were almost immediate. “Since he seems to have a type…does he know that I, too, have dark hair?” one person remarked on Twitter. “Channing Tatum is dating singer Jessie J, but what makes it kind of weird is that she’s Jenna Dewan’s doppelgänger,” wrote someone else. Even Vanderpump Rules star Jax Taylor weighed in on the situation. “Looks like Jenna dwans sister to me,” he wrote.

Here’s the thing, though: Any person who started dating Tatum would’ve been compared to Dewan—regardless of what they look like. It’s just in our culture to compare new celebrity partners to their former spouses—especially if they’re women. What can come from that, unfortunately, is a catty girl-fight narrative completely fabricated by social media.

But Dewan is putting a stop to that before it even starts. She took to Instagram this week and responded to these Jessie J comparisons in the best way possible.

It all started when one user commented, “FIRST OF ALL….whenever I hear of the ‘striking resemblance’ w/ Jessie J to Jenna Dewan ..my only thoughts are ummmmm no. Just trying to spread positive vibes, keep doing you…to an absolute outsider from a small town you are doing it seemlessly [sic].”

To this, Dewan had a simple but important response: “Positive vibes all the way.”

Take a look at the exchange for yourself, below.

The Internet would do well to adopt Dewan’s thinking. It’s 2018—we should be past comparing two women just because they have brown hair and dated the same person. As Dewan said herself, positive vibes only.

Jessie James Decker Doesn't Care What Critics Think About Her Drinking While Breastfeeding

Singer, designer, reality TV star, and mother of three Jessie James Decker caused a stir last month when she posted an Instagram photo of herself sipping on a glass of wine while breastfeeding her youngest child. Critics flooded her comments section with statements like, “Why are you drinking while feeding your child? Disgusting.” Another person wrote, “Drinking alcohol & nursing ur baby. Real smart.”

But given the ‘gram’s DGAF caption—”Cheers bitches”—Decker may have suspected there’d be critics before she even posted the photo. Either way, she’s standing by her choice now. “I have three children. I know what I’m doing now. And it’s totally OK to toast to a celebration and have a drink while you’re breastfeeding,” she told US Weekly in a recent interview. “After three children I’ve learned about what things to worry about and what things not to worry about and a sip of wine isn’t one of them!”

Still, it’s worth noting that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says, per its website, “Not drinking alcohol is the safest option for breastfeeding mothers.” Although, “Generally, moderate alcohol consumption by a breastfeeding mother (up to 1 standard drink per day) is not known to be harmful to the infant, especially if the mother waits at least 2 hours after a single drink before nursing.”

“However,” the post continues, “exposure to alcohol above moderate levels through breast milk could be damaging to an infant’s development, growth, and sleep patterns. Alcohol consumption above moderate levels may also impair a mother’s judgment and ability to safely care for her child. Drinking alcoholic beverages is not an indication to stop breastfeeding; however, consuming more than one drink per day is not recommended.”

While the issue is divisive for sure, some moms did defend Decker and urged naysayers to steer clear of mommy shaming. “Got to love these mommy haters. They so ‘disgusted’ with your posts yet they still follow you and use their time and energy to comment,” one person wrote. Another encouraged Decker, writing, “From one breastfeeding mama to another, you do you!” Sounds like that’s exactly Decker’s plan.
