This ‘Game of Thrones’ Theory Suggests Sansa and Daenerys Will Hate Each Other


The season eight premiere of Game of Thrones is roughly a month away, and fans can’t stop buzzing. Of course, it doesn’t help that HBO keeps dropping new pics and promos every other day. With each update, viewers get a little more excited—and they post about a billion fan theories on the Internet.

The latest one, based on a brand-new pic of Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), is particularly interesting. Earlier this week HBO released a new GoT poster featuring Sansa wearing what looks like a scaly, navy-color outfit and sitting on the Iron Throne. This might seem innocuous at first, but remember the house sigil for the House of Tully—Sansa’s mother’s house—is a fish. The House of Tully’s words are family, duty, and honor, so Sansa’s wearing scales implies she has every intention of keeping up those values when she finally meets Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) in season eight. And that’s bad news for both Dany and Jon Snow (Kit Harington). If Sansa plans to honor her family in the season ahead, that basically means Daenerys will be enemy number one (among the living, at least)—with Jon right behind her, given that he bent the knee to Dany and pledged the North’s allegiance to her.

Why is that, you ask? Remember, the Targaryens burned Sansa’s grandfather and Uncle Brandon alive. Plus, Rhaegar Targaryen “kidnapped” Jon’s mother, Lyanna Stark (Ned’s sister and Sansa’s aunt), which is what started the last war in the kingdoms. So, in other words, the Targareyens have done some serious damage to the North—Sansa’s territory.

People in the North haven’t forgotten about what the Targareyens did to them, and Sansa certainly hasn’t. In season seven she reminded Jon of all the damage they caused, and the other Northern Lords cheered her on. Sansa clearly has an ax to grind, and this new photo suggests she’ll have no problem grinding it when she and Daenerys finally meet face-to-face.

And here I was hoping these two would be best friends. We’ll find out everything for sure when Game of Thrones premieres Sunday, April 14, on HBO.

This *Game of Thrones* Theory Suggests Arya Didn't Actually Kill Littlefinger


One of the most talked-about moments from Game of Thrones season seven was when Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) murdered Petyr Baelish, a.k.a Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen), in front of literally everyone. It was a long time coming for fans, who had been waiting to see Littlefinger pay for all the scheming he’s done in Winterfell. I mean, right before Arya slit his throat, Sansa casually reminded him that he betrayed both her and her mother. He was a bad apple, simply put, and fans weren’t sad to see him go.

But what if Littlefinger isn’t actually dead? That’s what a YouTuber who goes by Neo suggests in this recently-unearthed fan theory. Neo posits Littlefinger paid one of the Faceless Men of Braavos to die in his place so he could GTFO. Of course, Game of Thrones fans know the Faceless Men have the shape-shifting abilities to easily pull this off—and Neo has evidence to back his theory.

Think back to the fifth episode of season seven, for instance, when Littlefinger is talking in hushed tones to an unfamiliar woman. Neo believes this woman told Littlefinger his “time is up,” effectively tipping him off that Winterfell wanted him dead. We then see Littlefinger drop a coin in her hand—the same coin, Neo suggests, that Arya used to pay a Braavos in an earlier season. Ultimately, Neo concludes this woman was a Faceless Man sent to kill Arya—but Littlefinger intervened with the coin and instructed said Faceless Man to die in his place. Make sense? For what it’s worth, many fans seem to think Littlefinger is alive too:

Obviously, Neo’s theory has its problems. For one, we’ve never seen a Faceless Man use their abilities to die in someone’s place. Also, bringing back such an abhorrent character might anger the fandom. Game of Thrones has pulled more shocking stunts, though. At the very least, this is interesting fodder to keep us occupied until the show returns April 14 on HBO.

This 'Riverdale' Theory Suggests Alice Isn't Betty's Biological Mother


With every new episode of Riverdale, it’s becoming more obvious the mysterious Black Hood is a member of the Cooper family. At this point, though, it could be anyone in that band of blonds: Hal Cooper, Betty’s long-lost brother, or maybe even Betty herself. (“Dark Betty” is scary, guys.) Your guess is as good as ours.

And a new Reddit theory builds on this idea—that the Black Hood is a Cooper—but with a twist. According to a user named -lCrackers, the Black Hood is Betty’s biological mother…but that woman isn’t Alice Cooper. It’s Penny Peabody, the shady lawyer for the Southside Serpents. Yes, you’re reading this correctly. We now have a new theory which posits Penny Peabody as both Betty’s biological mother and the Black Hood. That’s two bombshell reveals at once.

But the evidence is pretty strong. -lCrackers suggests that Alice and Penny are half-sisters, and that Alice took Betty away from Penny when she was born because she didn’t think she could handle a child. Fast-forward to roughly 17 years later: Penny’s now grown up and seeking revenge on Alice for taking Betty and for painting the South Side as this criminal hotbed. She wants to show everyone the North Side is just as gross and corrupt—hence why she became the Black Hood.

If Penny’s been on the South Side this entire time, it’s entirely plausible that she observed Betty from afar, which would explain how she knows so much about her. And because Penny is paid in “favors,” she has the connections to make this Black Hood operation seamless. Perhaps she’s hiring people to do the dirty work—the killing—for her, and she’s just pulling the strings. That would explain why those two Black Hood letters had different handwriting: one came from Penny, and the other from one of her accomplices.

It’s an ironclad theory, to be honest. Penny has both the motive and the means to be the Black Hood. Also, she looks just like Betty. This is, hands down, the most convincing hypothesis we’ve come across thus far—and the one most likely to be true. Of course, we’ll have to keep watching to find out for sure.

Theory Suggests Taylor Swift Could Have Been Revealing Her Single Names All Along

Taylor Swift is always five steps ahead of her fans, and we’re struggling to keep up, even when she hides clues in plain sight.

The latest fan theory to come out of the Swiftie universe involves her Instagram captions, because that’s really all the information we have to go on right now (besides all the posts the singer likes on Tumblr). As someone at BuzzFeed first recognized, when Taylor announced the first single off of Reputation, “Look What You Made Me Do,” she also blatantly gave us a clue about the second single “… Ready For It?“—we just didn’t know it at the time.

When announcing “Look What You Made Me Do,” Taylor captioned her Instagram announcement, “…ready for it? New single #LookWhatYouMadeMeDo out now. Pre-order #reputation (link in bio) and find out about tickets and merch at taylorswift.com.” So, obviously, the name of the second song was revealed a little over a week later, the world re-read her Instagrams a little closer. Now, some social media users think the third track will be called “A Second Glance,” says Buzzfeed, after she wrote, “A second glance into #reputation…ready for it? Link in bio,” on Instagram to reveal her second single.

This is hardly the first fan theory stemming from Taylor’s new album. Fans have jumped on everything from Kanye West and Kim Kardashian shade to Beyoncé references to hidden squad mentions, not to mention those theories that she liked on Tumblr. Fans have dissected the new song and video within an inch of its life, and we’re still as confused as ever, TBH.

November 10 seriously can not come soon enough.

This 'Game of Thrones' Theory Suggests Littlefinger Worships the Many-Faced God


Littlefinger has been up to no good on Game of Thrones for a while now. The scheming troll, otherwise known as Petyr Baelish, is wreaking havoc left and right in Westeros. And his new targets are Arya and Sansa Stark. Exhibit A: In last week’s episode, he led Arya to the scroll Sansa wrote—under duress, seasons ago—urging Robb to swear allegiance to King Joffrey. This will no doubt cause tension between the sisters—because Arya will think Sansa is betraying Jon Snow—and that’s exactly what Littlefinger wants. He’ a messy queen who lives for the drama.

Why is he like this, though? It’s clear Littlefinger wants to see Westeros destroyed by war, so what’s driving his hatred? Is he just plain evil? Is he pissed about Dany and Jon’s potential romance? Or maybe he worships the Many-Faced God?

A Reddit user who goes by NippleBeardTM think it’s the third option—and this makes total sense. NippleBeardTM points to the eerie similarities between Littlefinger and the Many-Faced God as the primary evidence for this theory.

“[Littlefinger] comes from next to nothing and is basically regarded as no one in terms of the royalty he commonly associates with,” the user writes. “He’s squirmed his way into a position of royalty through marriage and manipulation. He thrives in the chaos that he creates, the sides that he takes politically seem as meaningless to him as the people he gets killed.”

Now, compare these attributes to what we know about the Many-Faced God. NippleBeardTM notes this elusive deity “doesn’t give a s–t about anyone, steals faces, [and its] followers are loner masters of disguise with rigorous discipline.” Hmmm, doesn’t this sound a lot like what we just said about Littlefinger?

Plus, think about how Littlefinger knows literally everyone and travels so often under the radar. Is this because he’s channeling the shape-shifting power of the Many-Faced God? Also, Littlefinger is responsible for the War of Five Kings, which sounds like something that would make the Many-Faced God very happy.

But that isn’t even the strongest piece of evidence. Take a second to think about the Valyrian Steel Dagger. “Guess where the Many-Faced God religion originated? Yep. Valyria. Guess whose dagger started the War of Five Kings by trying to assassinate the Stark family heirs? Good ‘Ole Petyr,” the Reddit theory reads. Dun, dun, duuun.

Could this craziness be true? It seems likely. If you’re skeptical, you can read NippleBeardTM’s entire theory here—but we’re 100 percent convinced. And terrified.
