Fans Are Scared ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Is Going to Kill Off Alex Karev

Grey’s Anatomy fans were shocked last week when it was announced that Justin Chambers, who has played Alex Karev since the show debuted in 2005, would be leaving the show—and that his final episode has actually already aired.

“There’s no good time to say goodbye to a show and character that’s defined so much of my life for the past 15 years,” the actor told Deadline. “For some time now, however, I have hoped to diversify my acting roles and career choices. And, as I turn 50 and am blessed with my remarkable, supportive wife and five wonderful children, now is that time.”

Since Karev’s departure happened offscreen, fans are now afraid that he’s going to be killed off, à la
Patrick Dempsey‘s Derek Shepherd. Though
I don’t think that’s actually what will happen, you never know with this show. “I swear if Shonda makes Alex Karev die tragically with a version of Chasing Cars or some other depressing song playing in the background… I’m going to lose it,” one person tweeted.

“Bro if this bar car crash episode is Justin Chambers last episode and it’s just gonna be Meredith, did Alex die is the car crash? bro ima fight every writer in the room if this is how y’all end Alex Karev storyyyyy ?,” another wrote.

Seriously, the car crash cliff-hanger from the midseason finale has people concerned. A third fan wrote, “SHONDA YOU BETTER NOT MAKE THAT ALEX KAREV CAR THAT CRASHED INTO THE SIDE OF THAT DAMN BAR WHILE GOING TO VISIT HIS MOM AND HAVE HIM DIE ON IMPACT I WILL FIGHT YOUUUUU WHO WILL MEREDITH HAVE NOW???!!!!”

Karev is, of course, not the first character to leave on Grey’s Anatomy. Along with Derek, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) has said goodbye to George, her sister Lexie, Mark Sloane, her mom, and her dad—just to name a few characters who’ve died. Meanwhile, Christina Yang moved to Europe and who the heck knows where Izzie (Katherine Heigl) is these days.

Ugh, the heart can take only so much. Let’s hope Karev is left alive so he can return some day.

This 'Game of Thrones' Theory Suggests Sansa Stark Will Be the One to Kill Cersei Lannister

Warning: Some spoilers for this season of Game of Thrones ahead.

Sansa Stark has been rising in the Game of Thrones power rankings for weeks—seasons, really. Once a privileged young girl of Winterfell who didn’t care to focus on much outside of herself, Sansa has become a true force in the Seven Kingdoms. She’s my personal choice to sit on the Iron Throne when this saga wraps up in three weeks.

And now, a new theory (from Hollywood Life) suggests that Sansa will actually be the one to kill Cersei Lannister as focus returns to King’s Landing after the defeat of the Night King.

The most popular guesses as to who might take down the queen are her brothers, Jaime and Tyrion, or Arya. This is thanks to the prophecy from Maggy the Frog, which Cersei heard as a child. In the books it says, “And when your tears have drowned you, the valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you.” Valonqar means “little brother,” which at first glance would mean Tyrion. But it could apply to Jamie, too, considering he’s the younger twin. Notably, thought, that specific part was left out in the show. And then, of course, Cersei sits high on Arya’s kill list.

Cersei Lannister and Euron Greyjoy in King’s Landing.

But it would be super cool if it was Sansa, especially since Arya just had a big moment in killing the Night King.

Don’t forget that Maggy’s prophesy also includes this bit: “Queen you shall be…until there comes another, younger and more beautiful, to cast you down and take all that you hold dear.” Sounds like Sansa, no?

So, how might this all go down? The dagger that Arya gave to her older sister during the Battle of Winterfell plays a big part. “Stick ’em with the pointy end,” Arya says, in a callback to the same advice Jon Snow gave to her in season one. While Sansa has never trained to be a physical fighter like Arya, she has learned a lot about politics and manipulation by Littlefinger and Cersei herself. The theory points out that, in season seven, Sansa admitted to “learning a lot” from Cersei.

“What if it’s actually the person she least suspects? It would be satisfying as hell to watch Sansa kill Cersei with Arya’s dagger,” Avery Thompson writes for Hollywood Life. “Sansa learned so much from the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms. Cersei helped shape Sansa into the woman she is today. But just like Arya, Sansa harbors a hatred for Cersei. Cersei had a hand in having Sansa’s father, Ned, killed, which Sansa had to watch from just inches away. She helped keep Sansa in King’s Landing and away from her family for years.”

The motive is definitely there—and thanks to the dagger from Arya, Sansa now has the means. But will she take her shot when the opportunity arises? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

This *Game of Thrones* Theory Suggests Arya Didn't Actually Kill Littlefinger

One of the most talked-about moments from Game of Thrones season seven was when Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) murdered Petyr Baelish, a.k.a Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen), in front of literally everyone. It was a long time coming for fans, who had been waiting to see Littlefinger pay for all the scheming he’s done in Winterfell. I mean, right before Arya slit his throat, Sansa casually reminded him that he betrayed both her and her mother. He was a bad apple, simply put, and fans weren’t sad to see him go.

But what if Littlefinger isn’t actually dead? That’s what a YouTuber who goes by Neo suggests in this recently-unearthed fan theory. Neo posits Littlefinger paid one of the Faceless Men of Braavos to die in his place so he could GTFO. Of course, Game of Thrones fans know the Faceless Men have the shape-shifting abilities to easily pull this off—and Neo has evidence to back his theory.

Think back to the fifth episode of season seven, for instance, when Littlefinger is talking in hushed tones to an unfamiliar woman. Neo believes this woman told Littlefinger his “time is up,” effectively tipping him off that Winterfell wanted him dead. We then see Littlefinger drop a coin in her hand—the same coin, Neo suggests, that Arya used to pay a Braavos in an earlier season. Ultimately, Neo concludes this woman was a Faceless Man sent to kill Arya—but Littlefinger intervened with the coin and instructed said Faceless Man to die in his place. Make sense? Watch Neo’s video here to learn more.

For what it’s worth, many fans seem to think Littlefinger is alive too:

Obviously, Neo’s theory has its problems. For one, we’ve never seen a Faceless Man use their abilities to die in someone’s place. Also, bringing back such an abhorrent character might anger the fandom. Game of Thrones has pulled more shocking stunts, though. At the very least, this is interesting fodder to keep us occupied until the show returns April 14 on HBO.

Who Is Left on Arya Stark's Kill List From 'Game of Thrones' and Why?

Spoilers ahead. You’ve been warned!

Arya Stark is kicking ass and taking names. Season by season, she’s been slowly ticking off each and every one from her infamous kill list—proving that, next to the Night King and Viserion (that scene on the Wall, wow), she might be the most deadly character in Game of Thrones. And as we all saw on tonight’s season 7 finale, hell hath no fury like an Arya Stark scorned. Westeros’ favorite assassin is showing no signs of easing up on her quest for revenge.

After leaving fans in suspense the entire season, we finally saw an end to the Arya x Sansa feud, which—as one major fan theory predicted—ended up all being for show. How come? So the Stark women could corner Littlefinger and bring him swift justice in the form of a dagger to straight to his neck (much like the way he held that very same weapon to Ned Stark’s in season one, and the way Lady Catelyn was murdered in the Red Wedding).

So, with Littlefinger and his scheming out of the way, let’s go back through who’s still left on Arya Stark’s kill list and why they’re there. If she’s going to get through them all, season 8 is going to be busy…and bloody.

The Hound
Why he’s on the list: He killed the butcher’s boy.
Status: She had the chance to kill him, but instead left him to die after he was wounded in battle with Brienne of Tarth. As we know, he came back from the brink of death and is now fighting for Daenyrs. So it remains to be seen if he’ll be an exception.

Cersei Lannister
Why she’s on the list: For her role in Ned Stark’s death.
Status: Evil as ever. Here’s hoping Arya gets her before the Night King.

PHOTO: HBO

The Mountain
Why he’s on the list: For torturing people at Harrenhal.
Status: Dead then risen from death by Qyburn. Now he’s a half-alive personal killing machine for Queen Cersei—and his brother the Hound had some choice words for him in the Season 7 finale. Perhaps this moment had more foreshadowing than it let on.

The Red Woman / Melisandre
Why she’s on the list: She kidnapped Gendry while they were with the Brotherhood Without Banners.
Status: Old as hell but still alive, thanks to the Lord of Light. And her magical necklace.

Beric Dondarrion
Why he’s on the list: He sold Gendry to Melisandre.
Status: He’s died and been resurrected at least six times, but following the Red Priest’s death, he’s now on his last life. And stuff at Eastwatch isn’t looking good…

PHOTO: HBO

Ilyn Payne
Why he’s on the list: He’s the one who actually beheaded Ned Stark since Joffrey didn’t swing the sword himself. Kinda sucks for him since he was just following orders, but Arya’s kill list grants no leniency.
Status: Alive. We think? We haven’t actually seen him since season 2.

And a look at those who have been already X’ed off…

PHOTO: HBO

Walder Frey
Why he was on the list: He killed Arya’s mom, her brother, Robb, and Robb’s direwolf in the Red Wedding.
How he was offed: Arya baked his sons in a pie, fed it to him while wearing one of their faces, and slit his throat. Savage.

PHOTO: HBO

Joffrey
Why he was on the list: Oh, beside the fact that he was the literal worst? He’s the one who sentenced her father to death.
How he was offed: As she revealed to Jaime in her dying moments, the privilege of this kill—by poison at Joffrey’s own wedding—belongs to Lady Olenna.

Tywin Lannister
Why he was on the list: He was the mastermind behind the Red Wedding.
How he was offed: By Tyrion, with a crossbow, while his dad was on the toilet (the best game of Clue if we ever heard one)

Thoros of Myr
Why he was on the list: He, too, took part in selling Gendry to Melisandre.
How he was offed: A wight grizzy bear got to him North of the wall and he froze to death.

Meryn Trant
Why he was on the list: He killed Syrio Forel, Arya’s water dance teacher.
How he was offed: Arya steals a face from the Hall of Faces and stabs him repeatedly in a Braavosi brothel.

Polliver
Why he was on the list: He killed Lommy (one of Arya’s friends from the group going to the Night’s Watch), he stole Needle, and he tortured people at Harrenhal.
How he was offed: By fluke, Arya and the Hound ran into him at an inn—and Arya seized her chance for revenge.

Rorge
Why he was on the list: Wait, Rorge who? Yeah, it’s been awhile since we saw this dude. He was one of the criminals taken from Harrenhal—and he threatened to rape Arya.
How he was offed: Arya got him! She stabbed Needle right through his heart after he tried attacking her and the Hound while they were on the run.

And now, the wait until 2019. We know that technically winter is here, but can it still come a little sooner?

Heather Heyer's Mother Remembers Her: 'They Tried to Kill My Child to Shut Her Up'

On Wednesday morning, family, friends, and other supporters gathered at the Paramount Theater in Charlottesville, Virginia, to mourn Heather Heyer, the woman who was killed on Saturday after a car plowed into a group of people who had gathered to protest a white supremacist rally.

As those who knew Heyer best gathered to grieve her sudden, tragic loss, they recounted a young woman who was compassionate, outspoken, and always trying to do what she believed was right. And no one made this more clear than Heyer’s own parents.

“She was hard not to love,” said her father Mark Heyer. “Heather’s passion extended to her ideas, her thoughts…She could tell if someone wasn’t being straight—and she’d call you on it.”

“She loved people. She wanted equality,” he continued. “And in this issue on the day of her passing, she wanted to put down hate. And for my part, we just need to stop all this stuff and forgive each other.”

Heyer’s mother Susan Bro also took the stage and began describing her relationship with her daughter. The two would talk frequently—about everything: life, work, and, of course, politics—and Bro made clear that her daughter had a “big and large” personality and a true dedication to changing the world.

“They tried to kill my child to shut her up. Well, guess what? You just magnified her,” Bro said to rapturous applause.

As Bro has seen how much of an impact her daughter’s death has had both in Charlottesville and throughout the U.S., she called on people to continue her legacy and “find a way to make a difference in the world.”

Bro was candid: She made clear that some people will feel apprehension about being as bold and outspoken as her daughter was and did not sugarcoat the fact that people will clash with one another while fighting for their beliefs—”We’re not going to sit around and shake hands and go ‘Kumbaya,’ she said. But she urged people to stop channeling their anger and fear into hate and violence, and instead to channel it into “righteous action.”

“I’d rather have my child, but by golly, if I’ve got to give her up, we’re going to make it count,” she said.
