Someone Shaded Chrissy Teigen Last Night, So Of Course John Legend Shut It Down


Chrissy Teigen and John Legend attended the 2018 Emmys last night (September 17), which means they obviously were the talk of the Internet. The chatter first started after Teigen made a cringe-y face when the cameras panned to her and Legend during Colin Jost and Michael Che’s opening monologue. (It’s already spanned dozens of memes, naturally.) Then, Teigen roasted Legend on live television when they went to present an award. “We get it. You won the EGOT,” Teigen told Legend, which caused the audience to applaud. “Don’t encourage him.”

Legend and Teigen were delightful comedic reliefs during an awards show that seemed rather sluggish, especially in the latter half. But, apparently, not everyone was on board: A few people took to Twitter last night and threw some low-key shade at Teigen. “Chrissy Teigen is beautiful but does she have to be included in everything just because she’s married to John Legend?” one person wrote. The comment seemed to upset Teigen who tweeted, “breathe, chrissy” in response to it. But Legend came in hot with the clap-back: “A reporter who doesn’t know how to use Google. How sad,” he wrote.

This isn’t the only insensitive comment Teigen had to deal with during the Emmys. “I’m asking this with the utmost respectful [sic], but is @chrissyteigen pregnant again?” a man wrote on Twitter in response to a photo of the couple at the Emmys. “I just had a baby but thank you for being soooo respectful,” Teigen said in response. Here’s a little reminder that making comments about someone’s body is never OK!

“man. you guys are brutal,” Teigen tweeted at the end of the night. That’s an understatement.

Here’s hoping the release of her second cookbook, Cravings: Hungry for More, brings some much-needed positivity to Teigen’s Tuesday.

Busy Philipps Just Used Grammar to Shut Down a Body-Shaming Troll


Body-shamers just never learn. There are countless examples out there of celebrities and non-celebs alike shutting down their social media harassers with excellent comebacks. And yet, one troll still had the bright idea to make fun of Busy Philipps’ body on Tuesday (August 21).

Here’s how it all went down: On Tuesday morning, the actress uploaded a photo of herself in workout gear on a trampoline for a good cause. “Today is #TheAwesomeChallenge and my workout every morning makes me feel awesome (even on the days when I’d rather stay in bed, like today) For every post using #TheAwesomeChallenge @RocketsofAwesome will donate back-to-school clothing to a @Baby2Baby child in need. Let’s do this! TAG 3 FRIENDS!” she wrote in the caption, before tagging Jen Gotch, Tess Holliday, Kelly Oxford, Sophia Bush, and Michelle Monaghan.

Rather than following instructions and doing the “Awesome Challenge,” however, one Instagram user felt the need to comment on Philipps’ body instead. “Ughhhh, you’re rolls are showing,” he wrote, as captured by the ever-vigilant @commentsbycelebs. Big mistake. Huge. The troll soon found himself on the receiving end of a scorched-earth grammar lesson, courtesy of Philipps herself.

“I feel like a man of your age should know the difference between YOUR and YOU’RE,” Philipps wrote, according to @commentsbycelebs. “YOUR is POSSESSIVE, as in ‘YOUR rolls are showing.’ (Get it? The rolls BELONG to me.) YOU’RE is an abbreviation for YOU ARE, as in YOU’RE CLEARLY AN A**HOLE BODYSHAMING LOSER. ✌️”

It goes without saying that body-shaming is never OK. But in this case, especially, this person really, really should’ve known better. Not only does Philipps have a documented history of live-outing creeps on social media, but she’s taken on body-shamers before.

“You know how when you’re a woman, sometimes people feel like they should be able to comment about your body all the time or make laws about your body?” she said on Instagram stories back in November, according to People. “Well when you’re an actress, or any female in the public eye, everyone feels that they can comment on your body all the f*cking time. Always. The amount of people in my long, 20-year career in this industry who’ve come up to me in grocery stores and Bed Bath and Beyonds to talk with people about my weight…I think it’s a good thing to err on the side of ‘Let’s not talk to people about their bodies unless they bring it up first and they want to talk about their bodies.'”

Agreed. There are better things to do…like brushing up on your grammar.

Liam Hemsworth Basically Just Shut Down Those Miley Cyrus Breakup Rumors, so Relax


Relax, world: Miley Cyus and Liam Hemsworth didn’t break up. Well, that’s what the video Hemsworth just posted to Instagram suggests, at least.

Background: Earlier today, rumors started swirling that Cyrus and Hemsworth called off their engagement. There wasn’t any proof of this—no quotes, no statements—but people took Cyrus recently deleting every post from her Instagram account as signs there was trouble in paradise.

But that doesn’t seem to be the case. Fan accounts were quick to point out this video of Cyrus and Hemsworth walking together in the Nashville airport yesterday as proof they’re still in tact. If that’s not enough to calm your nerves, though, then a video Hemsworth uploaded himself to Instagram Stories today should do the trick. The clip shows him and Cyrus driving and jamming to a random techno song before he pranks her by screaming, as if he’s about to hit something with his car. Cyrus acts shocked at first, and then jokingly says, “I’m gonna beat the shit [out of you].” Hemsworth just smiles and says, “Number one!”

Is this a full-fledged rumor shutdown? Not exactly. Hemsworth and Cyrus don’t verbally address the split reports; however, by just uploading this video they’re saying a thousand words. These two don’t live in a vacuum, so they’re probably well aware of the breakup chatter. What better way to put an end to it than posting a video of them together having a blast? Of course, there’s still a small possibility these rumors are true, but this clip makes them hard to believe. I mean, why would you post a video of yourself goofing off with your ex-fiancée right after you called it quits?

So rest easy, my friends. It appears Hemsworth and Cyrus are still together, which means love isn’t dead after all.

Victoria Beckham Just Shut Down Rumors That She's Designing Meghan Markle's Wedding Dress


Victoria Beckham seems like a shoo-in to design Meghan Markle‘s wedding dress: Not only is she an accomplished British designer, but she also has strong ties to the royal family, having attended Prince William and Kate Middleton’s royal nuptials in 2011 and celebrated daughter Harper’s 6th birthday with a tea party at the palace last summer. But during an appearance on The Late Late Show on Thursday, Beckham broke fashion hearts everywhere by shutting down the rumors that she’ll be masterminding the soon-to-be Duchess’ gown for the May 19 ceremony.

“How is designing Meghan’s dress? Is it going well?” host James Corden asked, intrepidly, attempting to catch Beckham off-guard. The ploy didn’t work on Posh Spice, though: Beckham vehemently denied that she was doing any such thing.

“Maybe you know something that I don’t! I’m not doing the dress, I’m not,” she said, adding: “Sadly, not. But I’m sure she will look incredible in whatever she wears.”

Beckham was, however, less adept at sidestepping Corden’s questions about whether she and husband David Beckham would be attending the upcoming royal wedding: When he asked whether she had received her invitation, the designer responded with a nonsensical, “I don’t know, I’ve been here…” before Corden and fellow guest Shaquille O’Neal began ribbing her for stammering over her answer.

Beckham then attempted to shift the focus off herself, continuing: “I think England is so excited. I mean, it’s just so great, isn’t it? They look so happy!”

She may not be designing the gown, but Beckham has already played a role in Meghan and Harry’s nuptials, in a way: In one of the duo’s official engagement photos that Kensington Palace released last December, the bride-to-be is wearing a creamy white sweater from the Victoria Beckham line.

And, of course, you can keep your fingers crossed for our second favorite Beckham-related rumor regarding the royal wedding—that the Spice Girls are reportedly reuniting to perform at the reception. Not a bad consolation prize, eh?

Paris Hilton Just Shut Down Rumors About Why She Zoomed Off Without Her Fiancé


Paris Hilton and her fiancé, Chris Zylka, landed at Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday night after their holiday trip to Aspen—and their commute home started on a bumpy, albeit hilarious, note.

The reality star, who’s pretty good at maneuvering around paparazzi at this point in her life, hopped into the backseat of her SUV right after leaving the airport. A few seconds later, the driver swiftly got into the front seat and drove Hilton and her new $2 million engagement ring away without Zylka in the car.

Back on the curb. paparazzi start to congratulate The Leftovers actor on his new engagement. He seems to be in pretty good spirits for what just happened to him in front of dozens of cameras—even shaking one of the photographer’s hands. Needless to say, the moment caused a little uproar—and more than a few headlines.

You can see 32-year-old Zylka left in the dust curbside in the video footage below.

“I’m her fiancé, [they] might not want to leave me,” Zylka said lightheartedly to the photographers.

Luckily, the moment wasn’t a premonition of what’s to come in their relationship—or some huge public fight. The hotel heiress cleared the air on her Twitter account and explained that it was just a major mixup after all.

“The driver thought he was in the car with us,” Hilton commented. “He didn’t realize with all the cameras & commotion. As soon as he sped off, I said “You left my Fiance!!” Then he backed his car up right away & got him within a few seconds. #Beyond”

Hilton, 36, came home to a fun surprise that likely made her and Zylka quickly forget about the embarrassing airport moment. She shared the adorable balloon-filled gesture in a series of Instagram photos. Further proof that all’s well that ends well—especially when you’re Paris Hilton.

Miley Cyrus Just Shut Down 'Rude' Pregnancy Rumors


Yesterday wasn’t just Thanksgiving: It was Miley Cyrus‘ 25th birthday. Her fianceé, Liam Hemsworth, by the way, was on it with a very sparkly, very Miley necklace spelling out “LiLi”—her nickname for him—in shiny cursive and glittering colored stones.

But Miley wasn’t quite able to celebrate in peace, thanks to the Internet. Our culture as a whole is pretty obsessed with trying to figure out if our favorite celebs are expecting or not—to the point of mania (Kylie Jenner and Khloé Kardashian come to mind). And it’s actually pretty gross to constantly be dissecting photos and trying to analyze whether a woman’s body looks pregnant or not. But the Internet cares not, and the most latest feeding frenzy focused on a recent photo the singer posted to Instagram.

At first glance, it’s just a (very famous) woman and her celebratory balloons getting psyched for her big birthday. She was dressed super casually in a long grey top and sans pants, as you do when you’re just chilling at home (and if you look very, very closely, there’s a Liam chilling between two of the balloons, just over her head).

Based on what commenters believed to be photographic evidence of a new Cyrus-Hemsworth project known as a “baby,” things soon spiraled into pregnancy-rumor mania—especially on Twitter, where Miley had also posted the picture.

One thing we love about Miley is that when she’s got something to say, she’s just going to come right at and say the damn thing. With one simple tweet, she shut the whole circus down and called it for what it was, “RUDE!!!”. So no, Miley is decidedly not pregnant. She just ate “shit ton” (by her own estimate) of Tofurkey because she’s human, and it was Thanksgiving.

A girl should be able to eat all the Tofurkey she wants to without sparking a deep dive on her appearance. But let’s all take a break from paying such ridiculously close attention to women’s ever-changing bodies. She’s just being Miley.
