The 3 Things I’m Shopping After Watching the Little Women Trailer on Repeat

I’ve been watching the trailer for Greta Gerwig’s Little Women remake on repeat ever since it debuted in August. The new movie—starring Meryl Streep, Emma Watson, Saoirse Ronan, and Laura Dern—is already getting rave reviews and early Oscars buzz for Ronan.

“Every single moment of it is just devastatingly poignant—somehow wild & wise / now & forever at the same time—and it all makes the whole world feel more possible & alive and then it’s over & you have to do laundry,” IndieWire film critic David Ehrlich tweeted about Little Women a few weeks ago.

And while I can’t wait to see the movie and cry, I’m also excited to mine it for fashion inspo. I’ve been debating what my style aesthetic will be this winter, and thanks to the Little Women trailer I think I have an answer. My outfit will work for the office and be inspired by quarreling with Laurie in an open field, or I want nothing to do with it.

These three moments from the Little Women trailer inspired all of my winter fashion goals. Come join me on the modern prairie, friends. Laura Dern is here!

Muted prints

I’ll take all the easy-on-the-eyes stripes, florals, or plaids. Any print inspired by one of the sisters’ dresses will do! Patterns that use similar colors (or varying shades of the same color) create visual interest without being distracting. Perfect for sitting under a tree and writing poetry for hours. To avoid the “I just got back from churning butter” vibes, I’ll skip the full, floor-length skirts and look for muted patterns on more modern pieces, like slim-fit pants and soft cotton T-shirts.

Because it gets cold on the prairie, too. And I’m not about to back down from my argument with Laurie because my arms are cold. Emma Watson’s green scarf here is particularly delightful.

Timothée Chalamet’s character offers a new spin on a classic. For a modern take, I’ll lose the vest and pair menswear-inspired pants in a 2019 silhouette—or a skirt that looks like it means business—with a white tee. Maybe if I wear this look and walk around Brooklyn, Gerwig will discover me and cast me in her next movie. A Little Women sequel, perhaps? One can dream!

Blake Lively’s Amazon Baby Registry Is Actually Worth Shopping

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are now the parents of three—though the exact timing of number three’s arrival is still shrouded in some mystery. We know Lively gave birth recently, though, and a new tweet from Reynolds seems to confirm that another daughter has joined big sisters James and Inez.

Now Lively is joining the ranks of celebrities like Priyanka Chopra and Jennifer Lawrence by sharing her registry (this one of the baby variety) on Amazon.

“I understand how overwhelming it is to be a new parent. What they don’t tell you is it never gets less overwhelming, but with each kid I do learn more,” she says on the site. “Before I had my first, I was lucky enough to have the parents in my life who I trusted most share their ‘must-haves’ with me. I hope to do the same for you with my baby registry picks. Good luck! You’re gonna need it.” (Along with sharing her favorite products, the actress is also making a donation to Child Rescue Coalition, a nonprofit organization that helps save children from sexual abuse and is a cause she’s passionate about.)

Here are some of her top picks:

Lively has a entire section of the registry devoted to sustainable on-the-go essentials. “I thought carrying around my own cups and bowls, etc., would make my life more hectic. I was wrong,” she says on the site. “Not only did it organize and simplify everything I need for my babies and myself, but most significantly, it helps to teach my kids DAILY the importance of being thoughtful about our choices. They appreciate seeing easy ways they can participate in protecting our planet and their future. We don’t go anywhere without these pieces now.”

And not everything is just for baby. Lively also selected items that will help fellow moms. “It’s easier to take care of everyone else instead of ourselves. But it all starts with us mamas. Here are some basics, as well as some special treats,” she said.

Lively also selected a diverse array of books for little ones. “I read an article with an incredible list of kids books that have representation and help to show children many different experiences and perspectives,” she says on the Amazon site. “I was so excited that I went on Amazon and ordered every book on the list. This is just a small selection. It’s been fulfilling for me as well because I didn’t grow up with these books, so I’m getting to read them and learn along with my children. We are never too old to learn.”

The Fall 2019 Essentials Chrissy Teigen Can't Stop Shopping

At the beginning of our interview, Chrissy Teigen asks if I can hold on for a second.

“Luna is drinking pure strawberry vinaigrette, as a beverage,” she says.

Such is life for the 33-year-old model turned best-selling cookbook author, turned TV personality, turned everyone’s best-friend-in-their-head. She juggles many roles, but take one look at her Instagram lately, and it’s clear that being a mom—and a very cool one at that—is the job she loves most.

But how has motherhood affected her everyday fashion choices?

“Oh my God, I just recently decided I’m no longer wearing things that I have to put over my head,” Teigen tells Glamour. “If I can’t step into it, I don’t wear it anymore. Stretching my arms above my head to put something on or anything crazy fitted that only has a zipper on the side, I’m like, ‘No, no, no.’ I will tailor things to add extra zippers.”

In short, comfort isn’t just key—it’s sort of, well, the only key. That leaves a lot of room to play with accessories, which she loves. “I can wear the most basic stuff, and just put on a good pair of sunglasses, a cute hat, and some hoop earrings,” she says. (And she just designed her ideal sunnies for the celebrity-favorite brand Quay Australia. But more on that in bit.)

As we head towards fall, Glamour asked Teigen to share her absolute favorite fall essentials. (“Easy, silk, nothing dresses with boots—that’s my jam.”) Read and shop on.

“Once every year I go into this mood where I’ll go online, I’ll be on Free People or whatever, and I’m like, ‘This is going to be me now!,’” Teigen says. When it comes to colors, her aesthetic is pretty minimal. (She says “loves patterns,” but mostly in theory—since “then [what you ordered] comes and you’re like, ‘What the—oh my God, this is crazy.’”) Her go-to styling combo for the fall? “I love an effortless, easy wrap dress [with] a scrunchy suede boot.”

Amazon Prime Day 2019: 11 Great Deals ‘Glamour’ Editors Are Actually Shopping

Today is the second day of Amazon Prime Day for the first time ever. Yesterday we spent a majority of the day panicking over things selling out and throwing virtually everything into our digital shopping carts. Can you blame us though? It’s easy to just decide you need a fifth Crock-Pot or your first Roomba once you see that slash pricing. But do you really need or want any of those things? Probably not.

Now that we’ve settled down from the initial excitement of all the deals being released yesterday, we have some clarity on what we thought we needed and what we actually want. Amazon’s best-selling eyeliner with over 5,000 positive reviews for under $20? A vibrator that one writer claims revolutionized her orgasm? A smart face-masking device that helps you get the benefits of a standard face mask in 90 seconds? Yes, yes, and yes. Here are the 11 Amazon Prime Day 2019 deals we truly can’t resist.
