The Hidden Meaning Behind Serena Williams's Wimbledon 2019 Outfit


Serena Williams opened her Wimbledon 2019 championships yesterday with a straight-set victory over Giulia Gatto-Monticone (and while Kate Middleton cheered from the stands). And, as usual, the tennis champion came dressed in an incredible custom look—and much like her French Open design, this one also carried a clever hidden message.

Keeping with Wimbledon rules and traditions, Williams’ sweater-knit Nike dress was all white. She made it her on, though, with very on-trend cutouts. But really, it’s all about the accessory that she added to the outfit: a gold brooch pin in the shape of the famous Nike swoosh.

It’s been nicknamed “the Broosh,” and according to a Nike release, it was inspired by “decorative jewelry from past generations.”

“I also wanted her to feel like it was something her grandmother could have worn, but of course give it a modern spin and make it just right for Serena,” Abby Swancutt, Global Design Director for NikeCourt, said.

The “Broosh” is made from 34 Swarovski crystals. That number is significant: Williams was 34 the last time she won Wimbledon, in 2016.

Here's the Sweet Hidden Meaning Behind Meghan Markle's Third Ring


Although Meghan Markle is still very much on maternity leave, she took a little break to honor Queen Elizabeth’s 93rd birthday at the royal Trooping the Colour ceremony in London on Saturday (June 8). This was her first public appearance since introducing baby Archie to the world—and as happy as everyone was to see the new mom, it was her ring finger that caught everyone’s attention. As Markle waved to the crowds from her carriage, it didn’t take long for sharp-eyed fans to notice she was wearing a third band on her wedding ring finger. Of course, this prompted speculation about the meaning behind this new piece of jewelry—and whether it’s a push present from Prince Harry.

There is no official word from the palace about what the ring signifies, but fans and experts believe it might be an “eternity ring” because of the diamonds set all the way around the band. Rings with similar designs are sometimes given to signify eternal love and the commitment shared by couple, with the ring’s circle of diamonds visually representing the sentiment, according to UK-based The Diamond Store. Considering the Duke and Duchess of Sussex just celebrated two major milestones—having a baby and their one-year wedding anniversary—it seems like a pretty solid explanation.

As you can see below, Markle is wearing the new band on her ring finger, alongside her engagement and wedding rings.

Markle’s first official post-baby appearance was perfectly timed—after all, Trooping the Colour is one of the royal family’s biggest public appearances. They all gathered on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for the traditional Royal Air Force Red Arrow flyover—and the resulting photos captured a smiling Markle standing next to her husband.

Fans Are Divided Over the Meaning of Lady Gaga's Latest Tattoo


When it comes to keeping her fans guessing, Lady Gaga is truly a professional. We never know what to expect next from Mother Monster, and whether she’s taking the reins of a giant robot or showing up to the red carpet looking like an IRL princess, we’re always left amazed. And after debuting a brand-new tattoo, the singer has once again left fans puzzled, with many trying to solve the mysterious meaning behind her ink.

Just days after debuting a new tattoo inspired by A Star Is Born, Lady Gaga showed off some arm ink featuring musical notes on a scale. As noted by Refinery29, fans on Instagram soon pointed out that the fifth line required of sheet music was missing from Gaga’s ink. Deleting the post, she returned moments later, showing the addition of a fifth line with the caption: “musical crisis averted.”

However, fans are now divided on how the notes are meant to be read. While some fans believe the music is spelling out G-A-G-A by reading the notes in treble clef, others pointed out that if you read the music as being in bass clef, the notes spell out B-C-B-C, which could be a possible nod to her manager Bobby Campbell or her Star Is Born costar Bradley Cooper.

One fan believed it might be a clue to future music, tweeting, “I’m betting that is the title of LG6, and she’s doing the rock hand gesture, maybe rock genre??? Or am I reaching.”

And one user decided that we’ll simply never know until Lady Gaga explains, tweeting, “There’s no treble clef so we really have no idea what those notes are…could be ABAB or BCBC….”

Luckily, Mother Monster seems to have settled the debate herself, confirming that the tattoo is “my name, written in music.”

Selena Gomez Got Matching Tattoos With Her Squad—and They Have a Secret Meaning


Selena Gomez, as famous as she is—140.7 million followers on the ‘gram alone—still makes time to stay close to her best friends from her pre-fame days. In July, Gomez spent her 26th birthday eating pasta on a yacht with her squad (actual goals)—and when it came time for another squad member to hit the big 2-6, she cleared her schedule for those celebrations, too, making time for a little vacay to hang out with them.

On Saturday, Gomez ‘grammed some photos of her friend’s birthday weekend, which kicked off Friday night—and it looked pretty epic. Pasta made a repeat appearance, with pizza and ice cream hijinks also surfacing.

“My best friend turned 26. Part one,” she captioned the first gallery.

Gomez’s friend Courtney Barry also posted about the evening: “chill family dinner turned wild (I cannot believe we convinced @raquellestevens to get a spontaneous tattoo)”

There was a pizza shot from her too:

And it was followed by this cute shot of her and Gomez showing off their new ink, which happens to be a number four: “we finally did it! my number one and my sister forever @selenagomez ❤️”

Gomez also posted it to her ‘gram with a heartfelt caption: “And lastly, my actual #1 @courtneyjbarry you are an incredible woman. The way you handle life’s most confusing moments is indescribable and graceful. You are moved by the littlest stories to the most heartbreaking ones, you will give someone your perfume if they say you smell nice, you are freaking hilarious and always stand firm in your faith, a loving sister, an amazing friend and a beautiful daughter. As for what that “4” means? “Best friend turned 26. Part 2. #4 because these women have stayed by my side for 7 years (@ashley_cook 12 years) 4, because you are my 4 for the rest of my life. Seriously, this squad knows how to have fun, and have each other’s back, and now they have the tattoos to prove it.

Here's the Special Meaning Behind Prince Louis' Christening Date


2018 has been a jam-packed year if you’re part of the royal family. Kate Middleton and Prince William welcomed their youngest child, Prince Louis, into the world in April—and then Meghan Markle and Prince Harry celebrated their historic wedding in May. Now, there’s another big event just around the corner: Prince Louis will be christened on Monday, July 9.

Kensington Palace announced last month that Prince Louis’ christening will take place at the Chapel Royal of St. James’s Palace in London. The private 40-minute ceremony will be conducted by Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, and rumor has it that Baby Louis will wear the same white gown his siblings George and Charlotte wore for their own christenings (if you remember, George was christened in 2013 at the Chapel Royal, while Charlotte was christened at the Church of St Mary Magdalene in Norfolk in 2015). The garment is a replica of a dress made for Queen Victoria’s oldest daughter in 1841.

The July 9 date is especially important in royal family history. As the Mirror noted, 71 years ago, in 1947, Elizabeth II (who hadn’t yet assumed the throne) announced that she was engaged to Philip Mountbatten. They had been engaged more about a year, but it didn’t become public until July 9. The rest is obviously history, and it’s fun to think of how it all kicked off on that special day. Now, the Queen and Prince Philip might get to relive that sweet moment while celebrating their youngest grandson.

As the day approaches, a few pictures of Kate’s own christening have emerged on social media. The images show the Duchess of Cambridge being christened on June 20, 1982. (We have a feeling Prince Louis is going to look just as cute as she did.)

There’s still no word on who the baby’s godparents will be, but that’s typically revealed on the day of the ceremony. Personally, we’re rooting for Meghan and Harry, although that’s unlikely, since the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have picked close friends for George and Charlotte. Still, we can cross our fingers and hope it all stays in the family.

Kris Jenner Just Revealed the Meaning Behind Khloé Kardashian's Baby Name


Khloé Kardashian revealed on Monday (April 16) the name of her baby girl, whom she welcome with Tristan Thompson last week: True. “Our little girl, True Thompson, has completely stolen our hearts and we are overwhelmed with LOVE. Such a blessing to welcome this angel into the family! Mommy and Daddy loooooove you True,” Khloé wrote in an Instagram post. The name, naturally, caused a social media frenzy, with thousands of fans hypothesizing the meaning behind it.

And now we know. Khloé’s mother, Kris Jenner, also posted a congratulatory post to Instagram on Monday and revealed the story behind True’s name. Apparently, it runs in the family. “I’m so excited to welcome my precious little granddaughter True!!! FUN FACT… my Grandfather’s name on my Dad’s side was True Otis Houghton….my Dad’s name was Robert True Houghton…so i am so excited Khloe named her daughter True,” Kris posted. Khloé gave birth to True last Thursday (April 12) in Cleveland, Ohio. Tristan is a forward for the Cavaliers, so Khloé’s been spending a lot of time in the city as a result. Of course, all this news is coming off the heels of both The Daily Mail and TMZ reporting Tristan allegedly cheated on Khloé last weekend in New York City. Those rumors, however, haven’t been confirmed or denied by the couple.

Reports that Khloé was expecting her first baby popped up in September 2017, and she confirmed them in December. “Thank you to everyone for the love and positive vibes! I know we’ve been keeping this quiet but we wanted to enjoy this between our family and close friends as long as we could privately,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
