Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone's First Meeting Was Nearly Intercepted by a 'Stalker'

Well, this won’t convince you to see an orchestra anytime soon, that’s for damn sure.

Appearing in a new video for W magazine, Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone fondly reminisced about the time they both believed they might’ve not been texting with each other in the early stages of their friendship, but rather a peculiar “stalker” who attempted to charm them with his musical capabilities. Allow us to explain.

“We both had the same stalker. His name was John the Orchestra Guy. He would ‘accidentally’ text us,” Lawrence recalled in the video with a laugh. “He wasn’t really a stalker. He was this guy who had a lot of people’s numbers. He must’ve worked at a studio or as an agent’s assistant or something,” Stone clarified. “He texted me and said, Hey, Alex—making up a name. I’m running late on my way to the sound stage. Can you warm up the orchestra for me? Make sure the orchestra’s warmed up for me. It was always about the orchestra. Can you text me back and let me know you get this? John.

Both Stone and Lawrence were unaware at the time that this industry “stalker” was simultaneously texting both of them—again, they were only in a text-based friendship at that point—but it came to light when the duo finally decided to meet and hang out in-person. “We had been texting every day for a year, but we’d never talked on the phone and we’d never met,” Lawrence recounted. “Then we were finally going to meet and she sent me her address and I’m driving over, and on the way over, I’m like, Oh my god, what if this is John the Orchestra Guy? She thought when I was on the way over, Oh my god, what if this is John the Orchestra Guy? So then I called you and we were like…hello? That’s the first thing we had in common. We’ve all been there, right?”

Can’t say we’ve all been there—but these two are just the absolute best that we don’t even care. Check out the full video, below.

Jennifer Lawrence Just Surprised Kris Jenner With the Most Genius Christmas Gift

Jennifer Lawrence, goddess of great banter and constant realness, is apparently pretty magnanimous when it comes to gifting presents. Case in point: the gift she gave apparent BFF Kris Jenner for Christmas this year—and with a classic J.Law twist.

Lawrence has been close to the Kardashian family for awhile now. “The Kardashians are more comforting to me, I think,” the actress said during an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “I’ve been watching them for 11 years, so I grew up with them, and I know all of them personally. The Housewives, they go in and out. They’re fighting all the time. There’s something more comforting about the Kardashians.”

Kim Kardashian freaked out—”OMG is this real?!” she wrote on Snapchat—and thus, a high-profile best-friendship was born, complete with one very drunken night in which Lawrence wound up drunk and naked in Kris Jenner’s closet. Since then, J. Law has even appeared on Jimmy Kimmel to guest-interview Kim K—a moment that quickly went viral.

All that said, it must be pretty hard to figure out what to get the family that pretty much literally has everything (and what they don’t have they can create a line of in about two seconds), but J. Law managed to do it. This season, she appeared to gift Kris her No. 1 item on her Christmas wish list: a Porsche.

Jenner, of course, posted about the gift on Instagram. “My BFF #Jenniferlawrence asked me what i wanted for Christmas and of course I said a Porsche, DUH. My girl didn’t disappoint. Thank you Jen I love you!!! #bffsforever #christmassurprise #jlaw #soexcited” she wrote.

But remember how we said there’s a twist?

That’s right: Instead of a full-sized, very operational vehicle, Jenner got what looks like a Saint West-sized mini-Porsche. Still beats those electric jeeps we had as kids though, TBH.

Donald Trump Jr. Is Trying to Start a Twitter Feud With Jennifer Lawrence

Taking after his father, it seems like there’s little Donald Trump Jr. enjoys more than stirring up some controversy on Twitter. And now he’s coming for one of America’s sweethearts: Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence.

To put this latest spat in context, let’s first take a look at Lawrence’s recent cover story for The Hollywood Reporter. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Lawrence delved into her “political passion turned obsession,” revealing that she’s even planned out a hypothetical meeting between herself and Donald Trump, should she ever find herself face to face with the President.

“I’ve got a pretty good speech,” Lawrence said. “And it ends with a martini to the face.”

Don Jr., however, didn’t take kindly to this Real Housewives-esque scenario. Quickly jumping to his father’s defense, the eldest Trump son promptly tweeted about the interview, telling the world he was “pretty sure that’s not how it would end… “

Naturally, fellow tweeters had plenty of thoughts on Trump’s response—with many once again reminding Don Jr. of his father’s disturbing history of sexual harassment allegations.

Maybe one day the Trump family will learn to think before they tweet.

Jennifer Lawrence Has a Teenage Doppelgänger Who Says She's Not a Fan

Alexia Maier, a 17-year-old working model from Florida, swears she’s not a clone of Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence, but honestly, we aren’t sure if we believe her. Their resemblance is pretty uncanny. But the teenager told the Daily Mail that she was unaware of just how much she looked like the Mother! actress until random fans began approaching her on the street and mistaking her for the star.

“At first I thought it was a joke when people started saying I looked like Jennifer Lawrence,” Maier told Daily Mail. “But when I started getting dozens of comments about my J.Law similarities, I started to realize it myself.”

Maier added that the stares and mistakes first began during a visit to New York City. “People will ask me for autographs,” she said. “I think one of my favorite examples is when a woman said ‘Jennifer, I’m your biggest fan!’ I told her, ‘I’m not Jennifer!’ but the woman immediately said, ‘Are you sure?’ I’ll never forget her reaction.”

And sure, people love to say they look like famous celebrities, but just take a look at Maier’s photos on Instagram and see if you can spot the difference between her and Lawrence:

While Maier acknowledges her look-alike appearance has only brought positive things to her life she told the Daily Mail that she’s actually not a huge fan of the Hunger Games actress.

“I know this is not the answer people are expecting from me, but I am not a fan,” she said. “Even so, I can acknowledge that Jennifer has definitely impacted my life in strange ways. I got a lot of attention in the first couple years of high school because of my similarities to her. I was also subjected to a lot of online attention when I was pretty young, good and bad, but both have managed to help shape me as a person.”

Despite claiming she’s not a fan, Maier still appears to be having fun with her doppelgänger fame and even attended the Hunger Games exhibition in New York to share a very cheeky picture next to Lawrence’s costume. Odds are it would fit Maier perfectly too.

Jennifer Lawrence Defends Being 'Incredibly Rude' to Fans

For Variety‘s “Actors on Actors” video series, Jennifer Lawrence sat down with funnyman Adam Sandler and discussed the downfalls of being a super famous face. For Adam, being a legendary comedian means when he’s out eating, for instance, people feel comfortable enough to “pull up a chair” and expect to join his conversation. In response, Jennifer confessed that while it’s “not as bad because I’m not a comedian,” she does keep her defenses up around fans. “Once I enter a public place, I become incredibly rude. I turn into a huge asshole,” she said, adding that it’s her way of “defending” herself.

“They say, ‘Can I have a selfie?’ and I’m like, ‘No!'” Jen said, though she did admit that she definitely doesn’t have it as bad as her friend Amy Schumer, who attracts a lot of attention because of her friendly and carefree onscreen persona.

This isn’t the first time the Oscar-winning actress has admitted to turning to curious defenses to avoid run-ins with fans. In an interview with the Daily Telegraph last December, Jennifer echoed similar sentiments of fans feeling too close to her because she’s a public persona.

“I think that people [strangers] think that we already are friends because I am famous and they feel like they already know me—but I don’t know them,” she said. “I have to protect my bubble, like, ‘I have a weird job—don’t let this be a reality.'”

Admittedly safety is a key concern for many major stars; after all, Jen’s friend Amy once got into an uncomfortable situation with a fan who refused to take no for an answer, scaring her and prompting her to make a no-selfie rule. But there are probably better, less insensitive ways to deal with the fans who are being respectful. For example, Emma Watson also employs a strict no-selfie rule, but instead offers up a much nicer gift: conversation.

“If someone takes a photograph of me and posts it, within two seconds they’ve created a marker of exactly where I am within 10 meters. They can see what I’m wearing and who I’m with. I just can’t give that tracking data,” she previously explained to Vanity Fair. “I’ll say, ‘I will sit here and answer every single Harry Potter fandom question you have, but I just can’t do a picture,” she added.

Perhaps next time J.Law can consider offering up some Katniss Everdeen fan theories instead of a finger wag to her supporters?

Jennifer Lawrence Says Darren Aronofsky Would Not Stop Talking About 'Mother' While They Were Dating

In the saga of Jennifer Lawrence and Darren Aronofsky’s erstwhile romance, it seems as if everything circles back to Mother! Their relationship began after the filming of the poorly-reviewed movie and ended, a year later, after its theatrical release. And now, it turns out that it may have been nothing but Mother! all day, every day. According to J.Law’s “Actors on Actors” Variety interview with Adam Sandler, her auteur boyfriend just wouldn’t shut up about his controversial film while they were dating.

“Dating the director was different, because we’d be on the tour together,” she said. “I’d come back to the hotel, and the last thing I want to talk about or think about is a movie. He comes back from the tour, and that’s all he wants to talk about. I get it; it’s his baby. He wrote it; he conceived it; he directed it. I was doing double duty trying to be supportive partner while also being like, ‘Can I please, for the love of God, not think about Mother! for one second.'”

“And then he would start reading me reviews,” she continued. “I finally was like, ‘It’s not healthy. I’m not going to do it, because if I read it, I start getting defensive.’ Especially because it’s my man. I don’t want to sound in an interview that I’m defending what we’re doing in any way. It’s awesome, what we did. The people who hate it really hate it. But it’s nothing that needs to be defended. If I read a negative review, I just feel defensive.”

Look, we’re not saying the relentless Mother! talk is why they broke up, or anything. All we’re saying is that nerding out nonstop about a pet project would put a strain on any relationship. And when that pet project happens to involve your girlfriend being harassed nonstop by all of humanity due to the actions of a narcissistic artist character who is obviously supposed to be you but God? Might be a deal-breaker.
