Kourtney Kardashian Is Promoting Flat-Tummy Shakes on Instagram, and Followers Aren't Happy

Kourtney Kardashian is no stranger to a detox—and let’s just say that the Kardashian-Jenners in general aren’t averse to social media spon-con, subsidized by products like “appetite-suppressing lollipops” (looking at you for that one, Kim). The messages these posts send about body image, nutrition, and health are, in a word, harmful, considering that the products haven’t been proven to be safe or effective—and Kourtney’s latest one seems to have left her Instagram followers a little frustrated.

On Friday, Kourtney posted a photo to Instagram that features her in a gray Calvin Klein bra and underwear set. She’s holding up a water bottle with a thick, chocolate-y liquid inside of it, and behind her are two pink jars that, we can make out, read “shakes.”

“#ad Back from Aspen and back on the @flattummyco meal replacement shakes…they’re exactly what I need right now. Day 3 on the program and I’m already feeling good again. I’m starting to see my tummy toning up nicely. Chocolate is my favorite, but they’ve got 20% OFF all their flavors right now so you guys should check them out!” she captioned the post.

Needless to say, her followers weren’t super pleased: “Disgusting that anyone would promote this stuff – meal replacements are NOT the way to healthily obtain a toned look (if ?? that’s ?? what ?? you ?? want ??) Eat healthy and exercise is the only way!,” wrote @callapetra.

“I want to see you actually ingest this. As anal as you are about organic sand [sic] healthy food, you’ll still shill this? Shameful. Anything for a buck,” wrote @nosillamp.

Another follower called her out: “Lol liar. You need a pay check this bad? You don’t drink that trash and you know it!”

Kim, FWIW, was also shilling Flat Tummy Shakes this week.

Kourtney has a reputation for being super health-conscious, so it’s personally pretty disappointing to see her promoting these unregulated products. And considering that she’s admirably pushed Congress for stricter cosmetics regulations in the past, you’d think she’d be on board with stricter regulations for these often super-sketch diet products (that, let’s be honest, just tend to make you poop a lot).

No two individuals are the same when it comes to health or weight loss—and as a reminder, health professionals are far from convinced when it comes to the benefits of these shakes and teas. Let’s hope more well-thought-out #ad partnerships are part of the rest of the Kar-Jenners’ 2019 resolutions.

John Mayer Is Reportedly 'Very Into' Kourtney Kardashian, and We've Reached Peak 2018

In news literally no one saw coming, John Mayer is reportedly harboring a little crush for Kourtney Kardashian.

The report comes from Us Weekly, which claims Mayer was seen chatting with Kardashian at GQ‘s Men of the Year party on Thursday, December 6. “[He] seemed very into her,” an eyewitness tells Us Weekly. Mayer reportedly even told Kardashian that running into her was “sweet serendipity” and they should “meet up again soon.” (Catch Mayer’s new single “Sweet Serendipity” in early 2019, inspired form this event. Just kidding.)

So many thoughts are running through my mind. Is Mayer a fan of Keeping Up With the Kardashians? Does he know about the time Kourtney laughed at Kim for crying on vacation? Or when she told Kim that “people were dying” after she lost her diamond earrings in the ocean? Surely he knows about “Nancy,” right?

Unfortunately, though, this crush might be one-sided. A source tells Us Weekly that Mayer isn’t Kardashian’s “type at all.” So, it looks like you won’t have to prepare yourself for this out-of-the-box pairing. (Which is a bit of a relief, TBH. 2018 has been the year for shocking new celebrity couples. Please see: Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson, and Channing Tatum and Jessie J.)

If John and Kourtney aren’t dating, maybe this clears up room in his schedule for him to help Kim with her music career. Remember her song “Jam?” And the accompanying music video? John is the only person qualified to help her come up with a sequel to that masterpiece. The Billboard charts are waiting, you two.

Kourtney Kardashian Cleverly Shut Down Thanksgiving Trolls Who Think She's Pregnant

Ah, social media: The gift that keeps on giving—especially on a holiday like Thanksgiving, when Instagram floods with adorable celeb family photos and, uh, festive cake-smashing videos (we’re looking and you, Hailey and Justin Bieber). Unfortunately, social media can also give rise to some uncalled-for trolling that seems to particularly target women—and while most of us were enjoying our mashed potatoes and gravy and trying not to fight about politics with relatives, others had a few questions about an Instagram video Kendall Jenner posted of her family standing outside by the fire on Thanksgiving night.

In it, you can see the family gathering to take a holiday portrait. Grandma M.J., looking fresh in all white, is on the left, with Kourtney Kardashian‘s kids; a man who is maybe Scott Disick/father of said kids (the video is grainy); and then Kourtney herself, nonchalantly placing a hand in front of her stomach as the family shuffles about to find their positions for the photo.

So yes, of course Instagram thought she’s expecting another kid.

As one user wrote: “Is kourt pregnant??”

Obviously, Instagram users should not be commenting on women’s bodies—and Kourtney, recently noted for a well-executed clap back involving Photoshop, trolls, and comments about her and Kim’s bodies, agreed.

In response to the Instagram user’s out-of-nowhere speculation, Kardashian dished a cheeky clapback: “No, but how good does my arm look in the last photo,” referencing her hand in the last of Kendall’s pictures, which shows Kourtney adding food to her Thanksgiving plate.

We’re up for second helpings of some signature Kardashian sass whenever the opportunity arises, but it would be great if the Internet’s speculation about their bodies (and women’s bodies in general) weren’t the catalyst for it. Here’s to hoping for less trolls and more leftover turkey on this day after Thanksgiving.

Kourtney Kardashian Heavily Photoshopped a Pic of Her and Kim Kardashian to Make a Point

Kourtney Kardashian is the latest Kardashian-Jenner sibling to be accused of altering a picture of herself on Instagram.

Here’s what happened: Kourtney and her sister Kim attended the 2018 LACMA Art + Film Gala last week in Los Angeles and shared a photo of their lewks on Insta. They seemingly coordinated with matching black dresses—both of which were very chic. No one’s contesting that. What commenters did notice, however, is that Kourtney’s left hand looks a little off in the shot. It wasn’t long before the photoshopping and FaceTuning accusations rolled in.

“What happened to Kourtneys left hand??” one person commented on Instagram, according to People. “Those body’s [sic] are are all fake,” another critic wrote.

Check out the photo in question for yourself, below:

Instead of replying to the accusations, Kourtney seemingly clapped back by posting the same photo of herself and Kim on Twitter—except this time she actually did heavily Photoshop it. She gave herself an exaggerated back arch and shrunk Kim’s waist to a very small size. Of course, it’s possible Kourtney posted this for other reasons—but it appears to be a response of some sort.

See the altered image, below:

In September Khloé had to shut down similar accusations of Photoshop after people suspected the trees in the background of her bikini pic were “wavy.”

“People find anything to comment on, especially just negative people,” Khloé said on Instagram Stories. “And a few people said I did horrible Photoshop because the palm trees are slanted. Well, honey, I don’t Photoshop palm trees. A negative mind will never give you a positive life. Change that mentality and you will change your life.”

Kylie Jenner's Now Joking About Kim and Kourtney Kardashian's Big Fight

Kylie Jenner‘s now chiming in on the Great Christmas Card Fight that happened between Kim and Kourtney Kardashian on Twitter earlier this week.

A quick refresher for those who already forgot about this: Sunday’s episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians showed Kim and Kourtney having a Very Serious Argument about the schedule for their family Christmas card photo shoot. Kourtney wanted to stop at 4 P.M., which didn’t set well with Kim. Things ended in a blow-out, with Kim saying Kourtney is the “least interesting to look at,” so it doesn’t matter if she’s a part of the shoot. Keep in mind this for their family Christmas card so, yeah, way harsh, Tai.

The drama spilled over to Twitter, with Kourtney, Kim, and Khloé all taking shots at each other. Things seem to be OK now, though. The sisters were in attendance at Kylie’s 21st birthday party last night, which they joked was actually all their 21st birthdays.

Kourtney uploaded a photo of her lewk from the night on Instagram, captioning it, “Thank you for all of my birthday wishes.” (Her real birthday is in April, just FYI.)

Shortly after, Kylie left a comment that seemed to poke fun at Kourtney and Kim’s squabble. “Happy birthday,” she wrote. “You’re so interesting to look at.”

Check out the comment for yourself, below:

So what does this mean? Is the fight truly over? Did it ever really happen? After all, there is a theory that Kris Jenner orchestrated the entire thing for ratings. Regardless, if Kylie’s making jokes, then all is probably well in the Kardashian-Jenner household. And cheers to that, because I’m already excited for the next Christmas card.

Kourtney Kardashian Is Pushing Congress for Stricter Cosmetics Regulations

While Kourtney Kardashian may have famously said she doesn’t read the news on her family’s long-running reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, she made some today in Washington, D.C., where she appeared with members of the Environmental Working Group (EWG) at a Capitol Hill briefing on cosmetics reform.

The issue of cosmetics safety reform is one that has become more and more prominent in recent years, in no small part thanks to the EWG’s work to raise awareness about chemicals found in personal care products and their work to empower the FDA to regulate them more freely. “It’s been more than 80 years since Congress last acted to pass any sort of cosmetics legislation,” Scott Faber, Senior Vice President of Government Affairs at EWG, said at the beginning of the briefing. “And that’s why it’s so important that Kourtney is here today to lend her voice.”

It’s also why the group supports the Personal Care Products Safety Act, a bipartisan bill introduced by Senators Dianne Feinstein (D—Calif.) and Susan Collins (R—Maine) that, among other things, would require companies to disclose their ingredients to the FDA, register the facilities where their products are made, and permit the FDA to insist on warning labels where necessary.

“Under current law, cosmetics companies can put just about anything in cosmetics and personal care products. There are few if any restrictions on the kinds of ingredients that can be added to personal care products or the amount of those chemicals,” Faber explained. “What the Feinstein-Collins bill will do, is it will give FDA the power to review the most controversial ingredients or chemicals in personal care products, and ultimately make a determination if those ingredients are safe or safe at certain levels or not safe.” The bill has the support of a number of beauty companies both large and small—from Procter & Gamble, Revlon, Estée Lauder, and L’Oréal to Juice Beauty, EO, and Vapour Beauty.

Any fan of KUWTK knows that Kourtney is the member of her family that is perhaps the most conscientious about what she puts into (and onto) both her own body and those of her three children, so her interest in this issue isn’t completely surprising. She says it was the birth of her first child, Mason, that caused her to start thinking differently about products. “I would get so many baby gifts,” she explained. “And a lot of it was skin care products for my kids. I would use the things that people sent me just assuming these are baby products and that they should be safe.” (In fact, there is no reason to assume that just because a beauty product is geared toward children that it is more regulated, as our recent Glamour investigation showed.) “Some of them had a lot of toxic chemicals so I just started researching myself,” Kardashian continued. “And I found EWG and have the Healthy Living app and I just started getting my own information.” (The app provides environmental ratings for over 200,000 foods and products.) She says that she tries to do the work herself, but as a busy working mom she doesn’t always have the bandwidth and thinks it’s time for Congress to do its job: “As parents, there’s only so much time that we have to research, and we rely on experts, but I think there’s only so much that we can do.”

Of course, reporters had a few questions for the eldest Kardashian offspring about her family’s own ties to the beauty business. “I am from a beauty family. And so, my sisters’ products have been checked by EWG and they scored well,” Kardashian said. But she couldn’t speak to the specific ingredients in Kylie Cosmetics or KKW Beauty. “Those are their companies,” she said. “But I think it would be nice if there were laws to regulate cosmetics so that the people running these businesses and these companies can have some standard of what to use.” She told an anecdote about one of her hairstylists, an expert, who wasn’t even aware of some the chemicals in what they had both considered some of the best products available. “I get hair and makeup almost every day for filming and for my job,” she continued. “And I think…I go in blindly. I have all sorts of makeup artists and they want to use the best products and even they don’t have the information.”

And of course, there was a quick plug for her new collaboration with her sister Kylie Jenner—three eye shadow palettes and three lip colors—which launches today. “It’s a Kourt x Kylie collab. It launches today at 3 P.M. Pacific time,” Kardashian said. “Kylie and I were working on it for over a year. We kept changing our minds about colors and going back and forth and it was really fun to work with her and be creative together…We had a party together at Coachella. It was my first time there, at almost 39-years-old. But it was really fun and we’re really excited that it comes out today.”

As for the Personal Care Products Safety Act, its advocates hope Kardashian’s involvement today will make it known to a wider audience who are ready to make their voices heard on the issue. The bill is currently with the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (the HELP Committee).
