Kourtney Kardashian Cleverly Shut Down Thanksgiving Trolls Who Think She's Pregnant

Ah, social media: The gift that keeps on giving—especially on a holiday like Thanksgiving, when Instagram floods with adorable celeb family photos and, uh, festive cake-smashing videos (we’re looking and you, Hailey and Justin Bieber). Unfortunately, social media can also give rise to some uncalled-for trolling that seems to particularly target women—and while most of us were enjoying our mashed potatoes and gravy and trying not to fight about politics with relatives, others had a few questions about an Instagram video Kendall Jenner posted of her family standing outside by the fire on Thanksgiving night.

In it, you can see the family gathering to take a holiday portrait. Grandma M.J., looking fresh in all white, is on the left, with Kourtney Kardashian‘s kids; a man who is maybe Scott Disick/father of said kids (the video is grainy); and then Kourtney herself, nonchalantly placing a hand in front of her stomach as the family shuffles about to find their positions for the photo.

So yes, of course Instagram thought she’s expecting another kid.

As one user wrote: “Is kourt pregnant??”

Obviously, Instagram users should not be commenting on women’s bodies—and Kourtney, recently noted for a well-executed clap back involving Photoshop, trolls, and comments about her and Kim’s bodies, agreed.

In response to the Instagram user’s out-of-nowhere speculation, Kardashian dished a cheeky clapback: “No, but how good does my arm look in the last photo,” referencing her hand in the last of Kendall’s pictures, which shows Kourtney adding food to her Thanksgiving plate.

We’re up for second helpings of some signature Kardashian sass whenever the opportunity arises, but it would be great if the Internet’s speculation about their bodies (and women’s bodies in general) weren’t the catalyst for it. Here’s to hoping for less trolls and more leftover turkey on this day after Thanksgiving.

Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin's First Thanksgiving as a Married Couple Got Messy

Birthday celebrations always feel special, but for a lucky few out there, having a late-November birthday in the U.S. also means that, at one point or another, you could find yourself celebrating another turn around the sun on Thanksgiving Day. Add in the fact that it’s your golden birthday and you have yourself the makings of a pretty epic celebration. For Hailey Baldwin (or Hailey Bieber, as she’s now known on Instagram and the backs of denim jackets), her birthday was exactly that—especially when you factor in her cake surprise from the new hubby.

Hailey, who turned 22 on November 22, had a lot to be thankful for while celebrating the holiday. She and Justin were together for their first Thanksgiving as a married couple—and in front of both of their families, the singer surprised Hailey with cake. But rather than just set her cake down on the table, the Biebs took a different approach, giving his wife a, well, up-close-and-personal look at her dessert.

Lucky for us, Hailey and Justin’s families were there to document the entire messy ordeal, and the birthday girl’s adorable reaction to her husband’s cute trick. Take a look at this video, captured on Stories by Justin’s mom, Patti Mallette (there’s no audio, but you don’t need it for what ensues):

Later on, the singer brought out a second cake for Hailey—this time for eating—and the families sang “Happy Birthday” to her. After she blew out her candles, Justin gave a brief speech about her, with Mallette, capturing a few seconds of it on her Stories: “Happy birthday to the love of my life,” the singer said in the video. “She’s absolutely amazing.”

Messy cake trick aside, Hailey’s birthday seemed altogether magical. And she seemed to think so, too, taking Instagram to thank everyone for the birthday love. “Thanks for all the birthday wishes,” she said in her Insta stories. “22 is already AMAZING!!!”

Kelly Clarkson Nailed Her Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Performance

Kelly Clarkson performed at the grand American spectacle that is the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, and it’s safe to say she absolutely nailed the performance. The American Idol alum withstood cold that dipped below 20 degrees to bowl over her fans with a live vocal performance during the parade—something that’s pretty unheard of given the floats’ usual technical capabilities and the freezing weather that puts even the most talented voices on edge.

Instead of keeping it chilled out with some pre-recorded vocals—as most artists understandably do (more on that later)—Clarkson went straight-up live, with a full set featuring a complete stage, backup band, and a fiery performance of “Heat,” from her Meaning of Life album. And not that we would expect anything less, but it was hands-down incredible.

Check it out:

It’s safe to say fans were in awe after her performance: “Kelly Clarkson is actually performing live (and not to track like everyone else is basically forced to do) at the #MacysParade when will ur fave ever,” one person wrote.

“I just need to say, Kelly Clarkson is freaking amazing. Live performance outside in 19° weather, and she was flawless. ? #MacysParade #HappyThanksgiving,” another wrote.

“It is 19° in NYC and Kelly Clarkson is singing live! She is the only thing I’m thankful for this year. #MacysDayParade,” another tweeted.

Others pointed out that Clarkson was the only one singing live: “No one else is singing live for the Macy’s parade except Kelly Clarkson, actual queen.”

Others called for more Clarkson, please. “Replace the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with an annual multi-hour Kelly Clarkson concert spectacular,” one wrote.

One user also pointed out something a little ironic about Clarkson’s stoic performance: “I’m dying at the irony of @kelly_clarkson performing Heat in that intense cold at the #MacysParade,” they tweeted.

And yes, Clarkson was very much aware: “The irony wasn’t lost on us either ?,” she responded.

It should be pointed out that while Rita Ora caught a lot of flak for lip-syncing during the parade, not singing live is in fact the norm. Clarkson is very much the exception to the rule and was reportedly on a specially designed float, as a certain John Legend cleared up: “Fun fact. We all have to lip sync on this parade because the floats don’t have the capacity to handle the sound requirements for a live performance,” he tweeted after his own lip-synced performance. “Hope y’all enjoyed it anyway. Know that if you come to my shows, the vocals are 100% live!”

Clarkson also tweeted an adorable thank you after the show: “So my toes finally have feeling back in them ? that was a very cold Thanksgiving moment! I’ve been beggin’ the Lord for winter, and well, he answered,” she wrote. “#MacysDayParade thanks for having us! So thankful and appreciative for all the blessings in my life! Y’all have a good one! ?.”

If you already had your list prepared to share around the table of what you were thankful for at dinner, well, now you have one more thing to add to it. Happy Thanksgiving, one and all—and especially Kelly Clarkson.

Sarah Michelle Gellar Apologized for Posting Thanksgiving 'Thinspiration'

It’s no secret that Thanksgiving—with endless chitchat about food and overeating—can be a trigger for conversations about body image. But Sarah Michelle Gellar’s recent Instagram post is a perfect illustration of how easy it is for that conversation to turn toxic.

Earlier this week, the actress and cookbook author posted a series of lingerie-clad photos of herself with a caption many viewed as problematic: “I’m just going to pin these up all over my house as a reminder not to overeat on Thursday #thanksgivingprep,” Gellar wrote alongside four shots from a 2007 Maxim photoshoot, US Weekly reported.

Not surprisingly, the post immediately triggered a controversy, dividing commenters into two very vocal camps.

In the first, many users were quick to point out the problematic message behind the joke. “Usually love your posts but I’m seriously against ‘thinspiration.’ It’s a core of most eating disorders,” one user pointed out. “Projecting the idea that we should restrict ourselves from eating food to be skinny is a dangerous and damaging mindset which clearly plagues the minds of many, including celebrities as it’s pretty apparent here. It’s a hard truth to acknowledge. Nobody should ever feel guilty for eating food, period,” another user wrote.

But other commenters, including a few celebs, backed Gellar up, saying she shouldn’t have to apologize for being proud of her body. “@sarahmgellar is it weird if I pin these pics of you in my house too?” Tiffani Thiessen said.

To clear the air, Gellar issued an apology in the comments, a day after her original post. “It’s come to my attention that some people think I was ‘fat shaming’ with this post,” she wrote. “That could not be further from my intentions. I love Thanksgiving and unfortunately my eyes are often bigger than my stomach, and I tend to eat so much I make myself sick. This was a joking reminder to myself not to do that. I’m terribly sorry that people were offended by my attempt at humor. Any one that knows me, knows I would never intentionally ‘shame’ any one on any basis. I am a champion of all people.”

No matter your reaction to the post, the whole controversy brings up a super important point we should all remember today: Individual relationships with food can be complicated and hard to navigate. The bottom line is, you don’t have to be a certain size to love your body in lingerie (or any way) and no one should ever make you feel like you shouldn’t enjoy food—especially on Thanksgiving. Now excuse us while we go enjoy our Thanksgiving feasts.

Your Baking Idol Chrissy Teigen Already Had Her First Thanksgiving Fail

Chrissy Teigen, Glamour Woman of the Year and queen of the kitchen, has already had her first Thanksgiving fail—and she’s handling it like a true holiday hero.

Given Teigen’s prowess in the kitchen, it’s no surprise the Cravings author is whipping up a Thanksgiving feast. Which, according to her Instagram Story, has been an ongoing project for the past day—roasted turkey and fresh cranberries and sweet potato pies. Before you watch it, be warned, your mouth will definitely be watering.

Here’s the pie in progress, courtesy of Teigen’s Stories (there’s no audio, but the visuals speak for themselves):

Yes, we would like some of this.

Pretty perfect, right?

But as anyone who’s ever tried to cook a meal this big knows, it’s a journey. A saga filled with unexpected challenges. A noble quest that could break even the best of chefs. Holding down multiple dishes at once ain’t easy—even for the pros.

The proof is in Teigen’s latest post. After sharing this truly delicious footage of a sweet potato pie in her Stories, the final result almost didn’t make the social media cut. “In case you are wondering why I didn’t put my finished pie on my Instastory,” she wrote, right next to the sad remains of a sweet potato pie burnt to a crisp.

Naturally, people are living for the realness of Chrissy’s usual candor. “You are a regular human woman like the rest of us stressed over the holidays. Thanks for keeping it real,” one commenter wrote. Another, echoing what we’re all thinking, said, “I love how you are so real and open. No faking with you. Now, can I get a slice of the crunch pie?”

A few commenters suggested simply scraping off the top and piling on whipped cream (which, let’s be real, actually sounds pretty good), but Chrissy is a pro who does not get daunted. After sharing the Thanksgiving fail, she was back at it with attempt number two, and it’s looking great.

Just let us know what time to be over, Chrissy.
