Kim Kardashian Says Using a Surrogate Is 'So Much Harder' Than Past Pregnancies

Kim Kardashian has been admirably open about the challenges she’s faced during her pregnancies with 4-year-old daughter North and 23-month-old son Saint. She’s admitted to experiencing preeclampsia and placenta accreta with both kids, but she’s also said that she felt generally “miserable” for the entirety of both pregnancies. Unfortunately, though, it seems Kim has found something even more difficult: surrogacy.

While promoting her new KKW Beauty fragrances this week, the reality star talked to Entertainment Tonight about how tough it’s been to relinquish total control over her third pregnancy. “You know, it is really different,” she said. “Anyone that says or thinks it is just the easy way out is just completely wrong. I think it is so much harder to go through it this way, because you are not really in control. And, you know, obviously you pick someone that you completely trust and that you have a good bond and relationship with, but it is still…knowing that I was able to carry my first two babies and not, you know, my baby now, it’s hard for me. So, it’s definitely a harder experience than I anticipated just in the control area.”

Kim said this revelation came as a total shock. “I hated being pregnant and I never thought I’d ever—I thought this was going to be so easy, but you know, even in how much I hated it, if I could do it myself I would have preferred that,” she shared. “So, that inner struggle is kind of hard, but I am just rolling with it and it is what it is.” After all, surrogacy was the safest way for the KUWTK star and husband Kanye West to have a third child. “I am blessed that I am able to do this, and technology is the way that it is that we can do this,” she said. “But it is still a process that you need to digest.”

She said that, besides the lack of control, surrogacy has also taken away the constant reminders of her family’s upcoming new addition. “Even the fact that it’s happening—and you do forget sometimes—because I think when you are pregnant, by the time you have the baby, you are so prepared and so ready, and now I am just like, ‘Oh my god, I am going to freak out because I’m not ready and I’m not prepared.’ But it’ll just all come into place,” Kardashian West said, adding that she’s also had to remind North and Saint that they’ll be getting a new sibling very soon. “I don’t know if they don’t feel it as much because they don’t see my big belly and probably hear me complaining every two seconds. But we do talk about it a lot, so I think they are really excited,” she said.

Hopefully, last weekend’s OTT “Tea for Three”-themed baby shower has put the reality star and beauty maven into full nesting mode—since, if the rumors are true, baby number three could arrive as soon as next month.

Kim Kardashian Says Crystals Helped Her Recover From Her Paris Robbery

Unless you’ve been living in a social media blackout this week, you’re probably aware that Kim Kardashian is launching her first KKW fragrances, following the launch of her KKW Beauty highlighting and contouring kits. She even took a moment at her baby shower this weekend to promote them show them off as party favors. (Iconic line from her Snapchat: “It sounds like you’re on QVC!”)

As it turns out, her robbery in Paris last year was part of the inspiration for both her KKW Crystal Gardenia fragrance collection’s scent and its unique packaging. In an interview with WWD, Kardashian says that creating each scent was about “being calm and healing.”

“Honestly, after my Paris situation, a lot of my friends would come over and bring me healing crystals, and I obviously knew what they were—it’s very L.A. and it’s very popular right now—but for me it meant something so different,” she said in the interview. “I was sitting there, and I’d get these collections of them, and I started to really dig deeper into what they meant and the meanings behind them and started to go to these crystal warehouses in Culver City and downtown [L.A.].”

The packaging is giving me early ’90s flashbacks in the best possible way. Confession: I absolutely wore a necklace with a crystal almost identical to this in my eighth- or ninth-grade school photo. It was my favorite accessory. Here’s a look at her take on it:

It appears she’s still totally into them.

You do you, KKW. But we would definitely like to hear more about these L.A. crystal warehouse adventures.

Kim Kardashian Isn’t Going to Let a Pesky Shirt Distract From Her Gucci Suit

This summer, Kim Kardashian had a thing for not only embracing the naked dress trend that’s hot in Hollywood right now, but for wearing completely see-through clothes. (We get it! It’s hot out!) Her most notable looks included tights as pants and that plastic dress she casually wore to pick up sushi. Now, instead of wearing cheeky sheer fabric, the selfie queen has apparently given up things like on shirts altogether. Less is more, after all!

The mom of three showed up to LACMA Art + Film gala event in L.A. on Saturday night with her mom, Kris Jenner, in an ultra-chic Tom Ford for Gucci suit. Instead of wearing a shirt or bra underneath her oversized blazer, Kim opted for absolutely nothing underneath and kept her blazer unbuttoned, leaving some logistics best left to physicists and double-sided tape.

She topped the look off with simple makeup and waves in her long platinum hair. See the outfit for yourself below:

It’s not the first time she’s done this, either: just three weeks ago, Kardashian wore another black blazer with nothing underneath—though she kept it buttoned. In fact, she and her sisters, Khloé and Kourtney, all wore similar blazers, but they each styled differently.

Whether this is the last time Kim goes topless under blazers, we do not know. But when she gets obsessed with a trend, she runs with it—so stay tuned.

Kim Kardashian Apologizes for Her Aaliyah Halloween Costume: 'We Don't See Color in My Home'

To say Kim Kardashian West went all out for Halloween weekend 2017 would be an understatement.

The reality superstar dressed up in not one, not two, but three separate costumes, each paying homage to some of music’s greatest female icons. Her looks included tributes to Cher, Madonna, and, most controversially, the late R&B singer Aaliyah.

Specifically, Kim wore Aaliyah’s exact outfit from her “Try Again” music video—including the singer’s famous sequin choker and statement grey eye makeup. And while yes, Kim’s outfit was certainly on point in terms of being an exact replica, many pointed out on social media that it was veering dangerously close to cultural appropriation.

“Legend or not Aaliyah is a Black woman and you’re not. It’s offensive and you shouldn’t push this limit, but OK,” one user, for example, tweeted at Kim.

Here’s a look at her costume, in case you missed it:

Today, Kim released a statement defending why she made the decision to dress as Aaliyah and apologizing to fans who may have been offended by her costume choice. As she wrote on her website, “When I was deciding what I wanted to be for Halloween this year, I had a lot of ideas that I narrowed down to musical icons and my second costume was Aaliyah. The look was inspired by what she wore in her ‘Try Again’ music video.” Kim added, “Aaliyah was such an amazing singer, and she will forever be a music legend. I saw online that some people thought my costume was in poor taste, and I am truly sorry if that offended anyone.”

Kim noted that when she was choosing her costumes she didn’t think of it as dressing as a race or culture “but rather as a woman whom I will always admire.” She added, “I play every kind of genre of music in my home, and I like for my kids to be exposed to many different artists.”

“For me, it’s always about love and respect,” she continued. “I loved that Kourtney was Michael Jackson for one of her costumes and that my son was Axl Rose,” she said. “We don’t see color in my home. We were paying homage to people and artists we love and respect—it’s that simple!”

Kim Kardashian Faces Twitter Backlash for Her Aaliyah Halloween Costume

Kim Kardashian decided to spend Halloween this year paying tribute to some of music’s greatest divas. She kicked things off Friday night with her ’70s-era Cher costume. (Her friend, Jonathan Cheban, dressed as Cher’s ex and longtime musical partner, Sonny Bono.) On Sunday night, she and big sis Kourtney Kardashian went as Madonna and Michael Jackson circa the 1991 Academy Awards. Both looks were, naturally, glamorous as hell.

But it’s the costume Kim wore in between these two that has the Internet in a heated debate. The reality star decided to dress up as the late R&B singer Aaliyah for one of her events. She specifically mimicked the look from Aaliyah’s “Try Again” video: a glittery bikini top and pants, a sparkly choker, and pin-straight hair. She even copied Aaliyah’s smoky-eyed makeup look from the clip. Here’s the Snapchat Kim uploaded of her final costume:

The backlash for this outfit was almost immediate, with several people accusing Kim of cultural appropriation. “Legend or not Aaliyah is a Black woman and you’re not. It’s offensive and you shouldn’t push this limit, but OK,” one person tweeted at Kim. “It’s offensive because [Aaliyah] is dead and you can’t pay homage when you’re an Armenian just using her look as a costume. That’s the issue,” wrote another. Check out these responses, below:

But a few people defended Kim’s look, noting that she didn’t dress in Blackface or appropriate Black culture is any direct way: She just copied a music video outfit. “There’s nothing wrong with what she did or her pick. She just wanted to pay homage to her icons including Cher, Aaliyah, Madonna and etc.,” one person tweeted. “She dressed up as a musical artist. No Blackface, nothing offensive. Y’all love to hate and reach for nothing. Stop it. It’s Halloween,” wrote someone else. Here are those tweets:

Kim hasn’t commented on the backlash yet, but we’ll update this post if she does.

Kim Kardashian Hilariously Shut Down Rumors That Her Surrogate Is Having Twins

Kim Kardashian confirmed a few weeks ago that she and Kanye West are expecting their third child via surrogate. The announcement didn’t really surprise anyone, to be honest, because Kardashian’s been quite open on Keeping Up With the Kardashians about wanting to expand her family despite having fertility struggles. (She suffered from placenta accreta after her second pregnancy, a condition that’s made it very difficult—and dangerous—to have any more children biologically.) Plus, this rumor has been floating around social media since early summer. Of course, it was exciting when she finally said, “We’re having [another] baby!” out loud, but anyone with a pulse saw it coming.

What people didn’t see coming, however, is the possibility of Kardashian’s surrogate carrying twins—but that’s exactly what the reality star had the Internet thinking yesterday after she tweeted about needing a double stroller.

“Anyone know who makes the best double stroller? Not a tiny compact one but regular size,” the Selfish author wrote Monday morning (October 23).

People immediately took this as a twin reveal—seemingly forgetting that Kardashian currently has two young children. Here’s how some people reacted:

But Kardahian laughed off these tweets and responded with the obvious defense we mentioned earlier: that the stroller is for North and Saint.

“I have two kids people!!!! LOL,” she wrote. See it, below:

Kardashian and West haven’t confirmed the sex of their third baby, but both TMZ and Us Weekly report they’re expecting a girl. Like all Kardashian-Jenner stories, though, nothing’s official until the family announces it themselves—probably through a splashy photo shoot that breaks the Internet. That’s why we’re holding our breath with all the reports about Kylie Jenner and Khloé Kardashian being pregnant. Let’s wait for the receipts.
