Jessica Simpson Just Gave Birth to Baby Number 3, and Her Name Is Truly Unique

Jessica Simpson and her husband, former NFL star Eric Johnson, have welcomed baby number three, People magazine confirmed on Tuesday, March 19.

The music and fashion mogul gave birth to a daughter, Birdie Mae Johnson, on March 19, weighing in at 10 pounds and 13 ounces. Simpson has two other children with Johnson: a five-year-old son, Ace Knute, and six-year-old daughter, Maxwell Drew. “We are so happy and proud to announce the birth of our perfect daughter, Birdie Mae Johnson,” she posted to Instagram.

Simpson revealed on Instagram back in September that she and Johnson were expecting. “SURPRISE,” Simpson wrote, alongside pics of her two children with pink balloons. “This little baby girl will make us a family of five. We couldn’t be happier to announce this precious blessing of life.”

Though Birdie’s name is unique, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. Simpson’s baby shower had “Birdie’s Nest” written in neon lights, and she captioned several of her Instagram posts with it. Fans put two and two together.

Then on March 3, Simpson foreshadowed the name even more in an Instagram post about dealing with bronchitis while pregnant. “After a week in the hospital for bronchitis (my fourth time in 2 months), I’m finally home,” she posted. “Coughing with Birdie has been a crazy painful journey. I am slowly getting healthier every day. Baby girl was monitored and is doing amazing! ?? I am on my way to healthy and counting down the days to see her sweet smile. Sending love and prayers to all the mothers who are going or have gone through this. OUCH.”

Simpson actually posted several things like this throughout her pregnancy. She was quite transparent about the struggles she experienced—from breaking a toilet seat to feet swelling. “Any remedies?! Help!!!!” Simpson posted in January, talking about the latter issue.

Stay tuned for a photo of little Birdie Mae. Queen Jessica Simpson is quite open on Instagram, so it shouldn’t be long. Congrats to both her and Johnson!

Nick Jonas Gave Priyanka Chopra a $170,750 Car Because His Song Went Number One

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have never really done anything halfway when it comes to their relationship. They’ve had early dates at the Met Ball, hosted multiple wedding receptions to celebrate their marriage, and put their love on display in a music video for Jonas’ new song, “Sucker.”

Now, we can add extravagant gift-giving to the list. In honor of the Jonas Brothers’ “Sucker” hitting number one on the Billboard Top 100, Jonas gave his wife a brand new Mercedes Maybach. (This is the first time the Jonas Brothers have made it to the very top of the charts, previously topping at number five with “Burnin’ Up” in 2008.) It’s obviously a huge accomplishment that Jonas wanted to mark in a special way.

Chopra showed off her new ride, which she dubbed “Extra Chopra Jonas,” on Instagram, writing, “When the hubby goes number one.. the wifey gets a @maybach !! Introducing.. Extra Chopra Jonas.. haha .. I love you baby!! Yaaay! Best husband ever.” Also spotted in the photo, some (surely expensive) bubbly and Chopra’s dog, Diana.

Take a look:

These two are nothing if not publicly supportive of each other’s career accomplishments, as Chopra bragged about her husband’s milestone in a previous post:

The car, a 2019 Mercedes Maybach S650, starts selling at $170,750. Add in any customizations, and you have one helluva expensive gift. Perhaps Jonas credits his wife with some of the song’s success, given that “Sucker” and the accompanying video are all about the women in the Jonas Brothers’ lives. Chopra plays a starring role, alongside Joe Jonas’ fiancé, Sophie Turner, and Kevin Jonas’ wife, Danielle Jonas. The lyrics may have been a clue: “And you’re making the typical me break my typical rules. It’s true, I’m a sucker for you, yeah.”

No word yet on whether Danielle and Sophie can expect similar gifts from Joe and Kevin.

Jennifer Lopez Gave A-Rod a $24,000 Valentine's Day Gift

After two years of dating, Jennifer Lopez and former baseball player Alex Rodriguez are still going strong.

The pair, who just celebrated their second anniversary on February 3, haven’t completely ruled out marriage, but they aren’t forcing an engagement on themselves either. They seem totally happy going at their own pace, despite pressure from their fans.

But it didn’t stop talk show host Ellen DeGeneres from giving J.Lo her two cents on the matter recently when the singer popped by her show. DeGeneres let her thoughts on their relationship known with a very Ellen, very over-the-top gesture: a massive clock with A-Rod’s face on it. “It’s basically to remind him that time is ticking and he should hurry up and propose—or you should propose,” she said.

On to Valentine’s Day, where in related news, another timepiece was gifted—this time from Lopez to A-Rod. And we’re just guesstimating here, but we have a feeling it was a little more expensive than DeGeneres’ gift. She gave her boyfriend a blue and silver Audemars Piguet Royal Oak chronograph watch. According to Page Six, the new arm candy is worth a whopping $24,000.

Instagram Stories

Given the two’s penchant for dressing alike, we’re just wondering if J.Lo splashed out on an equally fancy timepiece for herself, too.

Anne Hathaway Just Gave a Very Exciting Update on 'The Princess Diaries 3'

UPDATE: JANUARY 25, 2019, AT 12:17 P.M ET — There’s been an exciting development in the saga of The Princess Diaries 3. For those of you who have been following along, we know that Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews are both down to reprise their regal roles in the beloved movie franchise and that a script for a third chapter exists. Even still, though, the project hasn’t officially been green-lit.

Hathaway doubled-down on all of this when she stopped by Watch What Happens Live Thursday night (January 24), telling host Andy Cohen, “There is a script for the third movie. I want to do it. Julie [Andrews] wants to do it. Debra Martin Chase, our producer, wants to do it. We all really want it to happen. It’s just we don’t want to do it unless it’s perfect, because we love it just as much as you guys love it. It’s as important to us as it is to you. And we don’t want to deliver anything until it’s ready, but we’re working on it.”

I wouldn’t get too excited just yet. From this quote—and what’s been said in the past—it seems like The Princess Diaries 3 still has some hurdles to jump through before it hits theaters. But regardless, it’s comforting to know Hathaway is just as amped on the idea as we are.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The Princess Diaries is one of pop culture’s crown jewels. The film series gave us so much: Julie Andrews eating a corndog, Mandy Moore’s greatest song of all time (“Stupid Cupid,” of course), a newfound appreciation for M&Ms—the list goes on. It also launched the career of Anne Hathaway, one of Hollywood’s most decorated actresses. The first two movies are cherished by millennials across the world, and we’ve been waiting on pins and needles for any news about a third installment.

Andrews herself started this chatter when she told BuzzFeed that she and Hathaway are down to make a third movie as a tribute to the late Gary Marshall, who directed the first two chapters.

“I think we might do it in honor of [Marshall],” Andrews said. “Annie had an idea that she wanted to pursue about it, and I’m all for it, so if she’d like to.”

Things escalated when Robert Schwartzman, who played Mia’s first boyfriend, Michael, told Glamour he’s also down to return. “It’d be cool to at least have the conversation about it if they want to do it,” he said.

This is all conjecture, though. Truthfully, it’s just actors humoring the press with vague but optimistic statements about a possible sequel. Stars do this all the time—cough, Big Little Lies, cough—and it tends to get fans’ hopes up prematurely. No one on Team Princess Diaries has said anything concrete about movie three.

Well, until now. Meg Cabot, who wrote the Princess Diaries book series, told Entertainment Weekly that a script for the third movie exists; it’s just a matter of when—and if—everyone wants to do it.

The author also confirmed Andrews’ statement about people wanting to make a third film “as a tribute” to Marshall. “So who knows? [It] could happen, as we say,” she said.

Unfortunately, Cabot didn’t reveal what the third script is about. “I am not allowed to say,” she said. “I would love to sit and talk about [it], but I can’t. I’m not allowed. But it’s really more following the movie than the books.”

She continued, “I think of [the books and movies] as two different universes. Like there’s The Princess Diaries universe that I created, which is, you know, amazing, and the Disney universe, that they created, which is equally amazing. And, you know, there’s fans of both, and fans who actually kind of like both of them at the same time.”

I Tried DIY Eyelash Extensions For A Month And Gave Up Mascara

I’ve always been a lash fanatic. Pro eyelash extensions, strip falsies, individual lashes—I’ve tried them all. Mascara has always been my biggest priority when it comes to my makeup routine—I swear by formulas that make my lashes look long, full, and nearly fake. In college, I never left my dorm on a Friday or Saturday night without a strip of Ardells rimming my eyes. And in recent years, I’ve sworn by in-salon lash extensions to achieve the fluttery lash look I so love. Honestly, there’s simply nothing better than waking up with a little eye drama.

But after a year of going to the salon for lash extensions every few weeks, I was over it: I started to notice that my natural lashes were becoming sparse. And I got sick of the application process which was long and, well, a little scary. It involves getting your your eyelids taped shut while a technician glues false individual lashes to each of your real ones. If, like me, you suffer from anxiety, it’s an hour spent freaking out about whether or not you’ll still be able to see once the application is complete. I was also dropping $100 a visit. All said, I still missed them Every. Single. Day.

So when I first heard about the at-home DIY eyelash extension system, Lashify, I needed to try it. It’s a DIY set of extensions that, if applied properly, can last anywhere from three to five days. Here’s how it works: you receive a control kit ($145) with two sets of lashes, two types of adhesive (clear, which I prefer, and black), a tweezer-type applicator and an adhesive sealant that magically removes residual stickiness on the glue. The lashes, or “gossamers,” come in tiny little pods with a set for each eye and they’re cut into small strips that are about 1/5 inch long. Depending on your eye shape and size, you’ll need around four to seven little strips—I typically use five. They’re each applied with the special glue, which is similar to (but not nearly as strong as) the adhesive used for in-salon extensions. Then, you clamp them into place with the included tweezers, and clean up the glue with the sealant.

The difference between these DIY eyelash extensions and regular falsies lies in two things: the adhesive, which is lasts much longer than typical lash glue, and where you apply them. Regular lashes are affixed on the top of your lash line, whereas Lashify lashes are glued to your actual lashes, but on the underside. This is the key to making them appear much more natural and basically undetectable. The best part? Once they were applied, I could barely feel that they were there.

Now, I’ll be honest: my first foray in applying the lashes didn’t go smoothly. Similar to applying regular strip lashes, it took a lot of time and practice to get it right. And if you’re someone who doesn’t have experience wearing contact lenses, tugging at your eyes for a stretch isn’t easy. But after about 30 minutes of trial and error, I got the hang of it. I’d reapply them every few days, cleaning the adhesive off of my lashes with an oil-based makeup remover in between. The only struggle: not being able to fully wash off my eye makeup when I had lashes on. But for a full set of fringe that didn’t cost me a ton of time or money, it was worth it. Here are a few tricks I picked up after a month of trial and error.

GOOD TIPS!

1. Turn the clamp upside-down.My first instinct when applying my lashes was to hold the tweezer with the outer end of the curve facing up. Instead, flip it over so the curve is facing downwards. It gives better control when it comes to lash placement.

2. Remove the lashes at your outer corners before bed.Not even my lashes can convert me from being a side sleeper. So after a few nights of waking up with wonky extensions at the outer corners of my eyes, I decided to remove just those sections before bed. Sure enough, the remainder of my gossamers were still intact in the morning, and I simply had to re-apply the pieces at the outer corners—a quick, easy fix.

3. Only use the black glue once you’ve really gotten the hang of things.Without enough practice, the black version of the adhesive can be really, really messy. Stick to the clear glue until you’re expert level, and then switch to the black. Once you’re a pro, the black glue can define your lashes even more.

4. Mix and match gossamer types and lengthsIn order to achieve a lash style that looked glamorous yet still natural, I played around with the different types of lashes that Lashify offers: A for amplify, B for bold and C for curl. Each style comes in multiple lengths, so I tend to stick to bolder and longer lashes at the outer corners, and a shorter, more subtle lash towards the inside.

All things considered, it’s no surprise that the Lashify obsession is real. A Facebook group called Lashify Life has over 5,000 members who share tips and tricks—everything from new ways to clean and reuse the gossamers to how to store them. But if you don’t want to reuse your lashes, you can score another set online for $20—a major savings from what was shelling out for in-salon extensions.

Prince Harry Reportedly Gave Up Alcohol for Meghan Markle, and His Family Is Thrilled

Prince Harry‘s partying days are over for now—according to a new report from The Daily Express, at least. Sources tell the British publication that Meghan Markle has inspired Prince Harry to give up alcohol during her pregnancy, and it doesn’t stop there: The Duke of Sussex also reportedly kicked caffeine and tea beverages. The royal family, per this story, is “amazed” at the change.

But here’s my question: What does he drink during high tea with the queen if not, well, high tea? Tap water? Sparkling water? A strawberry-kiwi Capri-Sun? For the love of Queen Elizabeth II’s corgis, please let it be a strawberry-kiwi Capri-Sun.

Of course, take this report with a grain of salt. We don’t really know what’s in Harry and Meghan’s fridge—besides roast chicken—and the sources who talked to The Daily Express sound like former frat bros annoyed that he swapped Natty Lights for Smartwater.

Take this quote as Exhibit A: “Considering he’s been a pretty brutal drinker since he was a young teenager, it’s quite an achievement,” a source says about Prince Harry’s newfound love for a crisp La Croix. Um, “brutal drinker”? Did Prince Harry mix shards of glass with his cocktails?

PHOTO: Getty Images

The same source also told The Daily Express that Prince Harry’s new stance on drinking “doesn’t make him the most entertaining party guest in the world” anymore, which is just rude. Prince Harry is fun, alcohol or not. Remember when he made funny faces at that little girl while holding a bag of popcorn? I want to hit the clubs with that guy, even if all we drink is Diet Coke.

“He was always fidgeting and on the go, always looking for the next thrill,” the insider added. “He was a great laugh but it was always very full on.” Wait, so Prince Harry isn’t fun? Please direct your attention to the time he sang a portion of Hamilton back in August. If that’s not the definition of a good time, what is?

“All she did was show him there’s another way to live and he’s become a huge fan,” a second unnamed source close to Prince Harry told The Daily Express. “He eats well, doesn’t poison his body, exercises, does a bit of yoga and is a lot happier.” Again with the extremities. Poison!

Real talk, though: If Prince Harry is making strides to get healthier both for himself and Meghan—who’s pregnant with their first child—that’s admirable. But let’s stop acting like the fun is over once you put the keg away. Prince Harry can still hang, people (and kegs are never that fun, anyway).
