Disney+ Will Have So Many Movies, and People Are Freaking Out


Disney’s soon-to-be-released streaming platform, Disney+, unveiled a large chunk of its catalog on Monday, October 14, and the internet is freaking out. The service, which launches in November, will be the home to all your favorites under the Disney umbrella⁠—and that’s an extensive list. Princess movies, Marvel flicks (since Marvel is owned by Disney), Disney Channel TV shows—all of this content will be available on Disney+. But what’s exciting fans the most is the addition of Disney Channel Original Movies—like Double Teamed, Pixel Perfect, and Smart House—to the lineup. Yup! Disney+ is shaping up to be your childhood in streaming form.

Obviously, those who grew up watching Disney in the ’90s and early ’00s are thrilled about this slate. “If you don’t see me out after November 12th, mind your own business,” one person wrote. Another tweeted, “Thanks to #DisneyPlus I can watch Luck of the Irish on St. Patrick’s Day like I used to.”

“Looks like imma have to borrow somebody’s Disney Plus,” a third fan posted. Meanwhile, someone else cheekily tweeted, “Today I’m learning that you guys all grew up in fancy houses with Disney Channel subscriptions. When the Caviar Channel launches you guys are suddenly gonna be like, ‘omg beluga DEFINED my childhood!!!’” There have also been videos, GIFs, and memes galore celebrating Disney+. Perhaps the buzziest original TV show coming to Disney+ is the Lizzie McGuire reboot starring Hilary Duff. The actor confirmed this was happening August 24 at the D23 Expo. “I am beyond excited to be home again, back with my girl,” Duff wrote on her Instagram at the time. A release date isn’t known yet.

Disney+ becomes available to the general public on November 12. It will surely be what dreams are made of.

People Are Freaking Out Over Rihanna's Savage x Fenty Show


Rihanna‘s Savage x Fenty show has quickly become one of the hottest tickets in town during New York Fashion Week. But in keeping with the brand’s values of inclusivity, it’s not just for fashion editors and buyers anymore: The actual show took place last week, but now anyone with an Amazon Prime account can stream it, thanks to its exclusive partnership with the platform.

The show was filmed at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York and featured a bevy of supermodels (including Gigi and Bella Hadid and Cara Delevingne), as well as celebrities like Laverne Cox and Normani. But along with those famous faces, Savage x Fenty also gave the crowd performances by Halsey, Migos, Big Sean, A$AP Ferg, and Halsey. Music, dancing, models of all shapes and sizes, gorgeous lingerie, and Rihanna? We’d say that makes for a pretty perfect runway show.

You can watch (and shop) the whole thing for yourself right now. And, judging from our Twitter feeds this morning, it seems the Navy is up early to support Rih.

And once the viewing public got eyes on Rihanna’s latest creations, they appropriately freaked out.

Normani, who Nicki Minaj once famously called “that bitch” truly lived up to her moniker with out-of-this world choreo. “Normani is doing what the other girls can’t do,” one fan tweeted. “Normani was EASILY the best part of the Savage x Fenty Fashion Show and that’s all I have to say,” another wrote.

But the overall show was a total hit, too. “LOOK HOW SHE ATE THAT… HER JOB IS TO SERVE AFTER ALL #SavageXFenty,” one Rihanna fan said. “Just the biggest supermodels of this generation casually slaying #SavageXFenty,” another wrote.

People loved the inclusivity of it all.

Seriously, there is nothing Rihanna can’t do—we just want more, more, more. Spring 2020, we’re ready for you.

Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, and Lana Del Rey Just Dropped a Music Video—and People Are Freaking Out


Good morning, angels.

Or perhaps I shouldn’t say that, at least according to the lyrics to the new song from Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, and Lana Del Rey—”Don’t Call Me Angel.” That’s right: Three of the biggest names in pop music got together to record a track for the upcoming Charlie’s Angels reboot starring Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska—and directed by Elizabeth Banks.

The lyrics are definitely fitting for both these singers and the vibe of Charlie’s Angels. Could this verse sound more like Miley? “Uh, don’t call me angel when I’m a mess / Don’t call me angel when I get undressed / You know I, I don’t like that, boy / Uh, I make my money, and I write the checks / So say my name with a little respect / All my girls successful, and you’re just our guest.”

Then, Ariana chimes in with, “See you here with somebody / You sizin’ up my body, oh yeah / Don’t you know that I bite when the sun set? Yeah, so don’t you try come around me / Might work with her, but not me, oh yeah / Don’t you know that I bite when the sun set?”

And finally Lana closes us out by singing, “I appreciate the way you watch me, I can’t lie / I drop it down, I pick it up, I back it off the county line / I fell from Heaven, now I’m living like a devil / You can’t get me off your mind.”

The video plays into the singers’ public personas, as you can see for yourself, below.

Obviously, fans on social media are very excited about this. “I love how they changed nothing from their personalities to their type of music to make it fit into one song,” one fan tweeted. “Lana is uniquely lana, Ariana is uniquely Ariana and miley is uniquely miley. I LOVE THIS.”

Camila Mendes and Charles Melton Just Publicly Declared Their Love—and People Are Freaking Out


Riverdale is a show known for its crazy drama—but behind the scenes, it’s also been the birthplace of many a young Hollywood couple. While the status of Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse’s relationship, a.k.a “Bughead” on the show, was called into question earlier this summer, it appears that Camila Mendes, who plays Veronica, and Charles Melton (Reggie) are going strong.

The two kept their relationship fairly private in the beginning, but they have been spotted out and about at some big events, including this year’s Met Gala. Now, a year after they started dating, Mendes and Melton are out here on Instagram publicly declaring that they’re in love. That’s quite a way to celebrate an anniversary.

The actress posted a sweet photo of the two kissing on a boat with a gorgeous sunset in the background. “365 days. i love you,” she wrote in the caption.

Meanwhile, Melton also chose a boat photo to mark the occasion. “I love you,” he wrote.

Friends and fans were loving the public display of affection. “?❤️,” Reinhart wrote in Mendes’s comments. “I love you too …oh wait… you meant @camimendes,” Madchen Amick, who plays Alice Cooper on Riverdale, jokingly wrote in response to Melton’s post.

There were some fans who were upset that Mendes isn’t paired up IRL with her onscreen on-again-off-again boyfriend, KJ Apa (who plays Archie Andrews)—not, you know, that that’s their business. But the Charles and Camila stans were quick to shut that down: “To the people who say that Camila should be with KJ, can’t you just shut your damn mouth?!” one wrote. “It’s so disrespectful and horrible to comment something like this on a picture where she’s saying ‘I love you’ to him. If you love her or even like her then respect, if you know what that word means. Respect her decisions, it’s not your life, it’s hers. She’s happy with Charles, then let her be. They love each other and are really cute together. ?”

Camila Cabello Just Declared Her Love for Shawn Mendes, and People Are Freaking Out


The summer of Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes rages on—and now there’s a new twist to their alleged relationship. After the release of their duet “Senorita” and the accompanying super-sexy video, rumors started flying that the two were actually dating in real life. The chemistry between the two onscreen was undeniable, but then Cabello was spotted at two of Mendes’ concerts. Not long after, they were spotted kissing and holding hands .

Though some cynics wondered if this all wasn’t some sort of publicity play, it looks like Cabello is taking the relationship to the next level. On Friday, she publicly declared her love for Mendes on—where else?—Instagram. “Happy birthday to this magic human, I love you!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️,” she wrote, in honor of Mendes’ 21st birthday on August 8.

This isn’t the first time Cabello has spoken publicly about Mendes, though neither party has fully confirmed their relationship. “I’ve known Shawn for such a long time, and it’s so much fun getting to work and do things with somebody who means a lot to you,” she told Variety.

In the same interview, she talked about falling in love—though she didn’t mention Mendes specifically. “Falling in love is like an infinite amount of levels and layers and angles. I fell in love and just opened up. Everything was written in present moment,” Cabello said.

People Are Freaking Out Over Netflix's New Thriller, Secret Obsession


Warning: Spoilers ahead.

Among the many great shows and movies that Netflix has released this summer, Secret Obsession might be the wildest ride.

The movie, which takes a page out of the Lifetime and You playbooks, tells the story of Jennifer (Brenda Song), who wakes up in the hospital after an attack and doesn’t remember who she’s married to. Luckily (lol!) her “husband,” Russell (Mike Vogel), is there to nurse her back to health in their mansion in the middle of freaking nowhere. But we soon learn that Russell is a totally nefarious stalker-type who has murdered Jennifer’s loved ones and is basically holding her captive.

She eventually figures out what is going on, as does a police detective played by former 24 president and current Allstate spokesman, Dennis Haysbert, and things get even more tense, violent, and dramatic.

People on social media had a lot to say as they discovered the drama over the weekend. They also had some questions. “Just watched #SecretObsession and all I can think of is, why TF he thought he can mess with Wendy Wu Homecoming Warrior, and get away with it?” one user wrote, referencing Song’s 2006 Disney movie. “Bitch brought down Yan-Lo, an ancient evil spirit; ain’t no basic white guy with photoshop skills gunna do a damn thing to her.”

Another thought the trailer gave away too much, writing, “#SecretObsession would have been so much better had the trailer not TOLD THE WHOLE STORY. Like I would have bought it all and been so surprised at the end but ?”

And seriously, that is a lot of eggs.

Flaws, plot holes, and a detective’s missing daughter who gets brought up once and then never again notwithstanding, we hope Secret Obsession is a sign that Netflix is going all in on the soapy psychodramas in much the same way they did rom-coms last year. The limit does not exist for how many of these movies we can (and will) watch.
