Demi Lovato Unveiled a Brand New Neck Tattoo

Merely a week after debuting her brand new neck tattoo, Demi Lovato is back with fresh ink—but this time the placement is a bit more subtle.

Located on the back of her neck, Demi got a new piece by renowned tattoo artist Alessandro Capozzi. The piece is a stunning micro realist rendition (meaning a tiny yet super detailed portrait) of the “Divine Feminine.” The duo decided to represent the concept with a winged female figure clad in loosely draped clothing and she’s being carried up by three white doves.

“We created this piece together to represent a rebirth of the spirit,” Alessandro explained of Demi’s new ink in his post. “The dark wings represent the bad times, their fading away is how she moved forward. The light from within represents the inner strength necessary for the change and the doves, pulling her up, symbolize the reach of [a] higher state of consciousness. Congratulations on your inspiring journey Demi, honored to have represented this for you.”

Apart from the super-detailed finished result, Alessandro also shared a behind-the-scenes look at Demi actually getting tattooed in his L.A. studio — which was no small feat. According to TMZ, Demi got tatted on Monday, Dec. 23, from noon until 8 P.M.—meaning the singer spent a total of eight hours at the parlor. Sure, we need to take breaks into account and all that, but Demi looks unbothered in Alessandro’s snap. We all know the singer is no stranger to tattoos so it’s no wonder she sat through it like a total champ.

Pain aside, Demi seems to be over the moon with her new ink. “Thank you so much ?? it’s incredible and you are so extremely talented ??,” she commented on Alessandro’s post. Apart from the thank you message, Demi herself has not weighed in on the meaning behind any of her latest tattoos and it’s unlikely she will. Per her latest Instagram post (dated Dec. 5), the next time we hear from her, she’ll be singing.

Until then, check out the singer’s new ink below.

Demi Lovato Is Dating Model Austin Wilson: Here's Everything We Know

Demi Lovato has been keeping a low-profile lately, recently sharing that her central focus right now is music and her health. Still, she had one semi-public romance with Bachelorette contestant Mike Johnson earlier this year that started when she joking posted a photo of him on her Instagram Story that said, “Mike, I accept your rose.” Their fling reportedly fizzled out, but now it seems Lovato has found a more serious relationship with a new guy named Austin Wilson— and she’s taken it to Instagram.

Lovato posted a black-and-white shot of Wilson kissing her on the cheek, captioning it, “My ❤️…” Wilson also shared an image of the two of them together and wrote a similar message: “My love.” The internet immediately started buzzing, with people wondering who the new mystery man is. What we know so far is that he’s a 25-year-old model who’s worked for brands like the men’s skincare line Baxter of California. His dad is the Dogtown Z-Boy skater-turned-denim designer George Wilson.

It’s unclear how the couple met, but they seem to have a few friends in common, including the late model Thomas Trussell III. Lovato got a small tattoo to honor his life, while Wilson posted a note on Instagram mourning his death.

The new relationship comes at a time when Demi Lovato says she’s getting ready to launch new music. She opened up about this at the Teen Vogue‘s 2019 Summit in Los Angeles, her first interview in about a year, and made it clear how excited she is to share new work with fans.

“Genuinely, I just want people to remember that I’m a singer. A lot of the things that have been through have [outshone] my success in the music industry. I just want people to remember that that’s what I want to give to the world, so please focus on that and not the other things,” she said. “It’s important to remember that I am so cautious this time around of jumping back into things. I’ve really decided to take my time with things. When the time is right to release new music, I will, and nobody is more anxious than me. “

Demi Lovato Opens Up About New Music and Body Image in Her First Interview in a Year

Since a reported overdose in 2018, Demi Lovato has been taking lots of time to focus on her health and her career. This weekend, she spoke at the Teen Vogue’s 2019 Summit in Los Angeles—her first interview in about a year—revealing that she’s slowly working on new music and hopes fans remember her for her music instead of for the difficult moments she’s faced recently.

During the interview, Lovato explained that the work she has been doing on her mental health has made her feel better and more connected with herself. “I think it’s been a very introspective year for me. I’ve learned a lot, been through a lot,” Demi said, per Teen Vogue.

She also got candid about her body image and how she’s working to recalibrate how she approaches body image.

“We hear the term body positivity all the time,” Lovato said. “To be honest, I don’t always feel positive about my body. Sometimes I do not like what I see. I don’t sit there and dwell on it. I also don’t lie to myself,” she said. “I used to look in the mirror if I was having a bad body image day and say ‘I love my body, you’re beautifully and wonderfully made.’ But I didn’t believe it. I don’t have to lie to myself and tell myself I have an amazing body. All I have to say is ‘I’m healthy.’ In that statement, I express gratitude. I am grateful for my strength and things I can do with my body. I am saying I’m healthy and I accept the way my body is today without changing anything.”

This isn’t the first time Lovato has gotten real about body image. In September, she shared an unedited bikini photo to Instagram saying she was “tired of being ashamed” about her cellulite. “I want this new chapter in my life to be about being authentic to who I am rather than trying to meet someone else’s standards,” she penned in the caption, continuing, “So here’s me, unashamed, unafraid and proud to own a body that has fought through so much and will continue to amaze me when I hopefully give birth one day.”

During the summit, the singer revealed that she’s also easing her way back into the career. “Genuinely I just want people to remember that I’m a singer. A lot of the things that have been through have [outshone] my success in the music industry. I just want people to remember that that’s what I want to give to the world, so please focus on that and not the other things,” she said, adding, “It’s important to remember that I am so cautious this time around of jumping back into things. I’ve really decided to take my time with things. When the time is right to release new music I will, and nobody is more anxious than me. “

Demi Lovato and Mike Johnson’s Relationship: A Complete Timeline

Johnson also “liked” this photo of Lovato:

September 18: E! reports on new details about Lovato and Johnson’s weekend date, saying that the two went to dinner in Los Angeles, and he had her “laughing the entire date.” They are reportedly texting each other and planning for a second date. “She has always had a huge crush on Mike, and once they met in person, there was an instant connection,” the source says.

September 22: The romance seems to heat up. During an interview with E!, Johnson spoke about the budding romance for the first time, singing Lovato’s praises while letting fans know that they’re taking things slow. “I’m just getting to know Demi,” he said. “I think she’s absolutely fantastic, and I don’t want no pressure on her, no pressure on me—we’re just trying to get to know each other. That’s all.”

Still, he made it clear that even though they’re taking their time to get to know each other, Lovato is the only girl in his phone right now. When E! asked if he was seeing any other women, Johnson said, “No, it’s just Demi. That’s the only person I’m talking to.” Seems like very casual exclusivity.

September 30: Johnson spills more details about his relationship with Lovato on Ben Higgins and Ashley Iaconetti’s podcast. “We’ve gone on more than one date,” Johnson said, according to People. “I like her tattoos—we both have a lot of tattoos. Demi has more than me.”

He continued, “And, uh, she kisses really well.”

Johnson also added that Lovato was the one who made the first move on him. “She definitely was the aggressor, you know, I find it incredibly sexy,” he said. “I love that, like, ‘Come at me. You want me, come at me.’ I want you, I’m [going to] come at you. I’m coming at her as well.”

October 14:

People reports that Johnson and Lovato are “done.” That same day, during an appearance on Good Morning America’s third hour, the Bachelorette alum asked Keke Palmer out on the air. “I made a mistake, I don’t like dating in public,” he said. “But, if I were to ask you, if we could go on a date…?” Palmer didn’t give him an answer, however.

October 28:

E! News reports that Johnson and Lovato’s relationship is totally done. “Demi and Mike’s fling has fizzled out and they aren’t seeing each other or texting like they were before,” their source said. “Nothing happened, it just ran its course.”

“Demi was definitely interested in Mike at one point, but it was short-lived and she wasn’t ever planning on dating him seriously,” the source added.

We’ll update this post with more info as it comes in.

Could Bachelor in Paradise’s Derek Peth Officiate Demi Burnett and Kristian Haggerty’s Wedding?

Demi: I adore him and I want him to find love no matter how that happens for him. I’m friends with Derek. I’m friends with Peter. I’m friends with Mike. I’m friends with all these guys. So whoever was going to be picked as the next Bachelor, I have no choice but to stan, because I’m friends with all of them.

Will you stay in touch with Derek after all this?

Demi: Of course! We talk to Derek all of the time! He’s great. He’s such a great guy.

Derek could officiate your wedding!

Demi: Derek, yes! How fucking ironic would that be?

He could do it with your dog, Kismet!

Kristian: Yes, Kismet!

So you guys aren’t living together at the moment, but you are living close to each other. What are you most excited about after this finale airs? What do you hope to do publicly since you’re such role models?

Demi: I am assuming I can speak for both of us, but we don’t know, we don’t. We don’t know what we’re doing. We’re taking it day by day, and we are finally going to be able to have a normal relationship where we can just go places, and of course we want to be involved in anything that would be supporting the community and really just helping anybody out. So we’re just taking it day by day and we’re going to figure it out along the way.

How would you like to see the franchise evolve after this? What can it do to continue to build on the major win I felt it achieved this season?

Demi: Again, I don’t know. I just…we just are two people who loved each other and they embraced that, so I think they’ll embrace anybody who comes on the show and it’ll just be more normalized, is my hope.

Do you think we’ll ever get a Bachelorette with all female contestants? Is that something you’d like to see?

Demi: I mean, of course. You know, it’s not something that I have experience…I don’t have the credentials to tell someone how to plan their TV program. I don’t know what I’m talking about, but I am open to seeing anything, and I think the rest of the world is at this point, is open to seeing anything too. So anything is possible, there’s no rules. Love is love. Retweet!

Demi Burnett Showed One of the Hardest Parts About Coming Out on Bachelor in Paradise

Coming out as queer in your twenties is tough. I should know. Once those traditional gender dynamics are finally broken down, you then suffer through a growth period of learning what it’s like to date the same sex. It’s rare to see that time navigated in pop-culture, let alone on a reality show, but we actually got to see it play out on last night’s episode of Bachelor in Paradise.

It all started when Demi Burnett broke down crying on-camera over her struggles to show PDA with her girlfriend, Kristian Haggerty. “I’m getting there,” Burnett says of showing public affection with Haggerty. “I’m getting comfortable with it, but it’s taking me some time, and like, I feel so guilty because I feel bad for it taking time.” Earlier in the season, Burnett came out as queer on the show and invited the woman she fell in love with back home, Haggerty, to join her in paradise. Since then, the couple have become Bachelor Nation’s first same-sex couple featured on the show.

But, of course, any sort of “first” is ripe with teaching moments. Last night, Burnett expressed that she’s having some growing pains with her queerness. For one: She said she’s worried about Haggerty flirting with other women on the show. “Kristian is just flirty with girls, and it sucks,” Burnett says on-camera. “I hate seeing it! I feel like she’s more interested in them than me. It’s just getting to me. Like, I can’t… I can’t watch it. I don’t want to see that.”

But as Burnett unpacks the issue in her confessional interview, we uncover the real reason her girlfriend’s behavior was bothering her. “I don’t know if maybe she’s lacking physical touch from me, and so she’s going to get it from somewhere else, but I don’t think that that’s fair,” Burnett says. “It has everything to do with me not being comfortable with being gay around people.”

That’s when she breaks down. “I want to give her what she needs, but like, I’m still uncomfortable with it, because I don’t want people to be like, ‘That’s weird.’ And I don’t want people to like, stare and be like, ‘Oh my god, they’re kissing.'”
