Ariana Grande Is Shopping at Chanel While Pete Davidson Is 'Looking for a Roommate'

Ariana Grande is rich. Very rich. She has a reported net worth of $50 million and apparently bought that insane New York City apartment she and ex-fiancé Pete Davidson lived in all summer. If she wants a baby pig, all she has to do is snap her fingers and, poof, it’s there. There’s even a song on Grande’s album “Sweetener” called “Successful” that talks about how paid she is. It literally sounds like a robust 401K package. Listen to three seconds of that track and you’ll immediately think, “Yup, Ariana Grande is a luxe queen.”

And what do luxe queens do on a free Sunday in New York City? Drop thousands of dollars at Chanel, that’s what! OK, so we don’t know exactly how much money Grande spent at the Chanel store in SoHo yesterday (October 21), but she walked out with two large bags and a look on her face that said, “My bank account is endless, and so is my power.”

For the occasion, Grande swapped her signature ponytail for a tight top bun, which makes total sense. She couldn’t risk her long hair getting in the way of the credit card machine when she swiped her Black Amex! You know what they say: The higher the hair, the higher the credit limit. (Like Ariana Grande even has a limit.)

It’s unclear if Grande’s shopping spree had anything to do with her breakup with Davidson. Some think the pop star was engaging in a little retail therapy, which might be true. However, an equally-as-plausible theory is Grande just woke up and said, “Wow, I’m rich and feel like spending money today.” I hear rich people do this all the time!

That being said, this seems like as good of a time as any to let y’all know Pete Davidson is reportedly looking for a roommate. The comedian gave everyone that update during a gig in Los Angeles over the weekend. “Well, as you could tell, I don’t want to be here. There’s a lot going on,” Davidson reportedly said. “Does anybody have any open rooms? Looking for a roommate?”

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson Have Reportedly Split, and People Are Not OK

The epic saga that has been Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson’s coupledom, from whirlwind start to surprise engagement to shared apartment to pet pig, has consumed the public’s attention for the past few months. But alas, it seems this roller coaster has reached its end for now: On Sunday evening, TMZ reported that the couple had called it quits. We’re so sorry to be the ones to break it to you.

Citing “sources close to the former couple,” TMZ said that the two split up this weekend, “with both parties acknowledging that it simply was not the right time for their relationship to take off.” People released its own report soon after, with an unnamed source close to Grande saying: “It was way too much too soon… It’s not shocking to anyone.” Neither Grande nor Davidson have confirmed or responded to the rumors.

Grande has been taking time off for her mental health in the weeks following the death of ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, canceling performances and appearances. In possibly related news (though, unconfirmed by the couple), Davidson was photographed on October 9, and it appeared that he had covered up a Grande-inspired tattoo on his neck.

The two had met on the set of Saturday Night Live back in March 2016, when Grande was performing, and dated other people for two years (Grade was with Miller, Davidson with Cazzie David.) In May of this year, both confirmed they had split from their significant others, and rumors that they were dating started to appear. On June 20, they announced they were engaged.

Best Halloween Couples Costume 2018: Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande

Iconic celebrity relationships make prime couples costumes for Halloween but often their looks can be a bitch to replicate. Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake (2001 American Music Awards era) requires entirely much denim. You need to have some pretty amazing suits on hand to pull off Mick and Bianca Jagger. And without the perfect matching blonde pixies, ’90s-era Gwyneth and Brad really just means wearing jeans and leather jackets, which will surely get you the dreaded “who are you guys supposed to be?!”

Luckily 2018 bestowed upon us a couple so instantly recognizable without the hassle of shopping for a million outdated pieces to get the costume right. If you’ve got a long ponytail, some sweats, a couple of lollipops, and a willingness to engage in over the top displays of public affection, voila: you’re Ariana Grande and Pete Davison, Halloween heroes.

Plus, dressing as Ariana and Pete gives you an excuse to use the wildly underrated cloud emoji constantly, comment excessively on your significant other’s latest Instagram and adopt a mini pig if that’s what you’re into. And if you plan on celebrating Halloween all weekend, you don’t need to brainstorm new costume every night—you can just recreate a different one of their iconic looks. Bless these two crazy kids, they’ve given us a lot to work with.

Pete Davidson Joked About Messing With Ariana Grande's Birth Control on 'SNL'

The 44th season of Saturday Night Live premiered on Saturday night—and it definitely gave fans a lot to talk about. There was Matt Damon’s portrayal of a super bro-y Brett Kavanaugh in the show’s cold open, as well as Kanye West performing dressed first as a giant bottle of Perrier and then in a MAGA hat. But there was one moment during Pete Davidson‘s turn on the “Weekend Update” desk that Twitter is decidedly not ok with.

While sitting down with SNL cast mate Colin Jost to chat about his engagement (and whether or not the couple has a prenup), Davidson joked that his fiancee, singer Ariana Grande, pays $60,000 for rent while all he has to do is “stock the fridge.” When Jost commented that a man “doesn’t always have to be the breadwinner in a relationship,” Davidson replied, “G*****n right, he does not—last night I switched her birth control with Tic Tacs.”

“I believe in us, and all,” he continued, “I just want to make sure she can’t go anywhere.”

If you’re fully cringing at this statement, you are definitely not alone.

Fans on Twitter were less than thrilled with the comment, especially given the timing of this weeks episode. “Apparently Pete Davidson thinks it’s ok to make jokes about switching Ariana’s birth control with tic-tacs?? Really? At this stage in the game this dude can no longer call these jokes,” wrote one fan on Twitter. “#SNL Pete Davidson joking that he switched Ariana Grade’s birth control with tic tacs IS COMPLETELY TONE DEAF given all of their needling of Kavanaugh.”

Many others chimed in in agreement, calling the joke “insensitive,” and urging SNL to “be better” with their content.

Davidson went on to joke that if the couple ever did break up, he’d be stuck working at K-Mart listening to Ariana Grande’s “Pete Davidson” blaring through the speakers.

'SNL' Epically Roasted Cast Member Pete Davidson About His Summer With Ariana Grande

A lot has happened for SNL‘s Pete Davidson since the show’s 43rd season finale back in May: The cast member got engaged to one of the biggest stars on the planet (cough cough Ariana Grande) and has consequently been in the limelight quite a bit more often. It’s a chain of events that apparently made him ripe for a little playful ribbing from his fellow cast members during the show’s 44th season premiere on Saturday night.

In a pre-recorded sketch, Davidson’s fellow cast mate Kyle Mooney laments that he thought 2018 would be his year to become one of the most recognizable names on SNL, but then, he says, “this summer happens.” Much to Mooney’s frustration, Davidson has suddenly become best friends with the show’s creator, Lorne Michaels, and walks around studio 8H like he owns the place.

“I feel like this year I’ve gotta make a statement, so I’m gonna change things up a bit,” Mooney confesses to the camera, before going in for a full Davidson-inspired makeover.

He shows up to the first day of work an entirely new man, complete with a blond dye job, a wardrobe of graphic sweatshirts, and a pet pig.

“I love this, bro,” Mooney tells the camera. “People are finally starting to take me seriously. Now all I need is a hot celebrity girlfriend, and that’s fine by me.” He then shows up in the writers room with a list of demands and guest star Wendy Williams on his arm.

Davidson confronts Mooney about his copycat transformation—and it looks like there’s only room for one Pete Davidson on the show. The pair challenge each other to a Gladiator-style duel (in which episode host Adam Driver also becomes an unintended casualty) that ends with Davidson impaling Mooney with a sword.

Though Davidson came out the victor in this particular sketch, things for him weren’t all positive during the season’s premiere episode: During his turn on “Weekend Update,” he made a joke about replacing Ariana Grande‘s birth control with Tic Tacs, which many fans felt was “tone deaf” and “insensitive.”

You can watch the whole video of Mooney morphing into Davidson (and the gruesome aftermath) below:

So, Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson Maybe Got a Micro Pig

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson are reportedly love-nesting it up in a $16 million deluxe apartment. However, it seems the couple might have invited a third roommate into their digs, and this new little guest might be the cutest roomie of all time: It’s a micropig!

As Elle points out, pigs are actually illegal to keep as pets in NYC, so it could be that this is just a quick drop-in visit. Micropigs are also known to be good therapy animals and emotional support animals.

Grande took to the ‘gram over the weekend to post an adorable flood of photos and videos of she and Davidson cuddling with the tiny pig. She recorded the little guy nuzzling on her shoulder and dozing off in her bed—and although you can’t actually hear anything in the video clips, you don’t need to in order to appreciate the cuteness overload.

But even if it’s not a permanent addition to the family, the pig looks pretty comfortable hanging out in the pair’s luxury NYC home. On Twitter, fans took screenshots of the Grande’s IG stories because, let’s be honest, they’re too sweet not to save somewhere. “ariana grande putting videos of a pig on her story has been the most exciting thing of my day,” one Twitter user wrote.

Otherwise, Davidson and Grande have been keeping things pretty quiet on social media, apart from a few tributes Grande has posted in honor of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, who died last week.

The couple, who confirmed their super-speedy engagement earlier this year after just a few months of dating, is reportedly planning a wedding for sometime after 2019: Grande has said that she’s never spent so much energy “planning something personal that feeds my soul so much and my heart.”
