Pete Davidson Just Confirmed His Engagement to Ariana Grande

Well, it’s official: Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson are actually engaged. OK, so we’ve all known about this for a few days now, but neither has commented on it—until now. On Wednesday night (June 20), Davidson told Jimmy Fallon he and Grande took the first step toward tying the knot. All the people psychoanalyzing Grande’s ring or her recent trips to Disneyland and furniture stores can calm down. This is the real, 0-to-100 deal.

“You didn’t have to get engaged to Ariana Grande to come on our show,” Fallon told Davidson last night on The Tonight Show.

“But I did. though,” Davidson said, grinning ear to ear as the audience cheered loudly. “I feel like I won a contest,” he added. “[It’s] so sick.”

Fallon then asked Davidson how he’s feeling about all this, to which he simply replied, “It’s fucking lit, Jimmy.”

“It’s so funny to walk down the street because dudes are walking by,” Davidson continued, adding that men tip their hats when they walk past him. “Did you see that Derek Jeter commercial? He’s retiring and everybody tips their hat.”

Watch the comedian explain this for yourself, below:

Prior to this interview, Davidson and Grande had hinted at their engagement on social media. The “No Tears Left to Cry” singer liked a series of social media posts from fans congratulating her on the news. Meanwhile, Davidson posted a photo of himself and Grande cuddling with the caption, “u know what you’d dream it be like ? it’s better than that.”

Congratulations, you two.

Wait, Did Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson Just Move in Together?

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson are going to have to start paying our medical bills soon if they doesn’t stop giving us whiplash every five minutes with their coupled-up updates. After the singer and SNL comedian got engaged following what appears to be just a few weeks of dating, their whirlwind romance continues with yet another development: The two might have moved in together. Like, today (Sunday).

Grande shared an image from Spongebob on her Instagram Stories, captioning it, “Us in our new apartment with no furniture 1 speaker and red vines.” Maybe—maybe—it’s an inside joke about something completely unrelated to Davidson, but speculation began almost immediately: Who is “us”? Where is this new apartment? When did this happen? Why does this relationship spark more questions than the Bermuda Triangle?

Grande followed the Spongebob post with a filtered video of Davidson that didn’t reveal any other details.

Next were some pics of her standing on a couch. White, artless walls? Comfy lounging sweatshirt? Very happy facial expression? Could this be a shot of the new digs?

Then she dropped this ‘gram, which is basically what she posted to her Stories, but more permanant:

While we puzzle it out, Twitter users have begun to have a little fun with the idea that she was sitting in an empty new spot with her fiancé.

“@ArianaGrande don’t know why i wasn’t invited to this whole empty apartment red vine eating party,” one user wrote.

“us all hiding in arianas empty apartment pretending to be furniture @ArianaGrande,” someone else said, including a picture of the talking furniture from Beauty and the Beast.

People reports that the night before, Grande had been spotted in the audience at New York City’s Comedy Cellar, supporting Davidson while he performed during a surprise set. Davidson seems to have had a slew of other celebs backing him up in the audience, including comedian Sherrod Small and, for some reason, John Mayer? (Again, this whole thing is a riddle inside a mystery inside a puzzle inside an enigma.) Small later posted a group photo that included Grande and Davidson and wrote, “The Almost Newlywed.” He continued, “Pete good move. She’s smart, funny and adorable. Congrats??.”

Almost“? How soon is this wedding?! We’ll update just as soon as we find out more, of course. In the meantime, here’s a timeline of literally everything that’s gone down in this relationship.

Did Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande Just Make Their Engagement Instagram Official?

Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande haven’t yet said the words “We’re engaged” to the public, but they’ve been making their intentions pretty clear to the world in other ways, this time with a revealing new photo on Instagram.

While the couple’s been mysterious about using labels, Davidson certainly seemed to welcome the speculation with an Instagram photo on Friday that showed off Grande’s left hand — massive ring and all. The comedian captioned the photo “u know what you’d dream it be like ? it’s better than that.” As for what “it” is, we can only guess: finding true love, posing for cute couple photos, captivating all of the Internet? An engagement?! Who’s to say, really?

Check the post out for yourself, below:

While this is the first photo the couple has shared of the ring, Grande’s been spotted out several times wearing it, including on a trip to Disneyland.

TMZ previously reported the ring was designed by jeweler Greg Yuna and cost $93,000. The 3.03 carat, pear-shaped stone set in platinum was supposedly designed specifically for Grande and took two weeks to make.

For her part, Grande has already taken to Twitter to seemingly confirm the engagement by responding to fans’ tweets with coy yet very happy messages. Just Friday morning, the singer tweeted, “i cant believe my life rn tbh if i’m dreaming pls knock me the f*ck back out.” Don’t worry Ariana, this is reality because we can’t even make this kind of celebrity relationship timeline up in our dreams.

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson Are Reportedly Engaged

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson are reportedly engaged, according to both People magazine and Us Weekly. The couple began dating in May.

This news hasn’t been confirmed by either Grande or Davidson—we reached out for comment—but sources tell People that it’s a recent development. “They’re just two people who found love quickly and make each other happy all the time,” a source reportedly close to the couple told the magazine. “They both started talking about it this past weekend. It’s nothing they’ve been hiding.”

Though the proposal came early in their relationship, you can expect a long engagement. “They are a perfect fit. They are not rushing to get married,”an “insider” told Us Weekly. “Their friends are really excited and supportive.” Another source told Us Weekly that Grande and Davidson were apparently “telling people that they’re engaged” at Robert Pattinson’s birthday party on June 9.

Again, it’s important to reiterate that all of this is coming from sources—not the couple or their representatives—but if social media’s any indication, Davidson and Grande are smitten with each other. The two frequently post photos of each other, both to Instagram and Instagram Stories. Grande just uploaded this photo, below, of the two goofing off:

On May 30, roughly two weeks after they started dating, Davidson uploaded this pic of him and Grande and captioned it, “The chamber of secrets has been opened…”

Grande’s fourth studio album, Sweetener, is due out some time this summer. Her single “No Tears Left to Cry” dropped on April 20. Davidson, meanwhile, is a regular on Saturday Night Live.

Shortly after this news broke, Grande tweeted a series of see-no-evil emojis and the phrase, “i love u sm ok bye.”

Glamour has reached out to Davidson and Grande’s reps for comment. We will update this post when and if they respond.
