Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Released Their First Family Christmas Card—Starring Baby Archie

We interrupt your holiday plans to share that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s family Christmas card has finally arrived.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s latest Christmas memento was shared via Twitter on Monday afternoon by the royal charity Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle serve as the President and Vice President. On the digital card, the couple sits casually in front of a Christmas tree, while baby Archie crawls toward the camera. “Wishing you a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year, from our family to yours!” it says in twinkling gold writing. Take a look:

This year’s card included a personal detail for Markle. Per People, the photo was taken by the 38-year-old’s close friend Janina Gavankar. The Morning Show actor has been friends with Markle since her Suits days and was among hundreds of guests who attended the royal wedding in May 2018.

Markle and Prince Harry reportedly went the digital route for the card for an important reason: A source told Harper’s Bazaar they wanted their greeting to be environmentally friendly. As royal fans know, Markle is a huge proponent of sustainable and eco-conscious fashion. The source also said their card was only sent to friends and family, as well as the patronages and charities they work with.

Monday’s digital greeting is the second Christmas card the couple have released together. Last year, the pair sent their holiday wishes with a never-before-seen photo from their May 2018 wedding. The stunning shot showed the pair watching fireworks at their reception.

When will we next catch a glimpse of the royal family’s Sussex branch? Not for a while. Royal officials revealed that the royal pair would be spending Christmas in Canada this year. The family’s staying there as part of a six week break from royal engagements.

Miley Cyrus Released a Christmas Song About Feeling Lonely This Holiday Season

Miley Cyrus has released a new track titled “My Sad Christmas Song” for anyone who has a broken heart this holiday season. The singer posted a link to her SoundCloud on December 21, as well as shared a poignant message to let her fans know they’re not alone.

With lyrics like “I turn on the radio/ I binge watch our favorite shows/ This year feels kind of lame/ But the last one was the same,” the song describes the heavy feeling of the holiday blues—especially if you’re missing a loved one.

“A sad Christmas song I wrote a few years back right before the holidays,” Cyrus wrote on Instagram. “Was feeling like s**t cause I couldn’t be with the one I loved. Even with a house full of family and friends I still felt alone.”

She continued, “In ways that still feels relevant and someone reading this right now could possibly relate! If you feel lonely this season just know YOU ARE COMPLETELY MADE OF MAGIC!”

“You are as special as a snowflake, beautifully unique and I hope inside your soul feels light, hope, peace, and joy knowing how singularly amazing YOU are! Love always wins!” Cyrus added.

After dropping the song, the pop star received a lot of love on Twitter from fans who said they needed to hear her message after losing their loved ones.

Though Cyrus didn’t reveal who inspired the track, chances are she’s referring to ex-husband Liam Hemsworth.

In 2015, the two were months away from reconciling since they were spotted at a musical festival in January 2016. This time of year is also reminiscent because Cyrus and Hemsworth had a secret December wedding at their home in Nashville last year.

The couple have since gone their separate ways after announcing their split over the summer.

Since then, Cyrus has been linked to Cody Simpson, but breakup rumors have been swirling since Simpson was recently spotted with another woman. Perhaps Cyrus was sending a pointed message with her new track as well?

These Pics of Prince George Baking With the Queen Are Sweeter Than Christmas Pudding

As a Christmas gift to us all, Kensington Palace released a stunning new set of images that see Prince George helping make traditional Christmas puddings alongside his great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, grandfather Prince Charles, and father Prince William.

The four generations of the royal family—the queen and the three future kings—came together in the Music Room of Buckingham Palace earlier this month in honor of the launch of the Royal British Legion’s “Together at Christmas” initiative.

A spokesman said the initiative had been launched “to combat the loneliness and isolation experienced by some members of the Armed Forces community at what can be a difficult time of year. The get-togethers will provide an opportunity for all ages of the Armed Forces community to come together and enjoy the Christmas puddings.”

In one photo, six-year-old Prince George is pictured mixing ingredients in a bowl while the queen, Prince of Wales, and the Duke of Cambridge proudly look on.

In another photo, Prince William and Prince Charles help a lending hand as Queen Elizabeth II watches.

According to Kensington Palace, the desserts “will become the centrepieces of 2020’s get togethers, and form part of 99 puddings distributed across the charity’s network in the UK and the Commonwealth—also marking The Royal British Legion’s 99th year.”

It sure looks like Prince George has a little experience in the kitchen—and it’s probably all thanks to his mother. Earlier this week, Kate Middleton opened up about her own family traditions during a Christmas TV special with Mary Berry.

During the episode, the Duchess of Cambridge revealed her children love to cook and particularly enjoy making pizza dough. She also revealed that her family has a sweet royal birthday tradition.

“I love making the [birthday] cake,” Middleton shared. “It’s become a bit of a tradition that I sort of stay up until midnight with ridiculous amounts of cake mix and icing. I make far too much, but I love it.”

The Internet Has Thoughts About Kim Kardashian's Christmas Wrapping Paper

It’s no secret that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have adopted a very neutral aesthetic in recent years—look no further than Kim’s muted wardrobe, their extremely minimalist home decor or their low-key 2019 Christmas card to prove it. So it’s fitting that, for the holidays, the famous duo has also opted for an equally colorless palette.

Kardashian took to social media on Friday (December 20) to share pictures of her family’s wrapped Christmas gifts. She explained the look, writing, “West Holiday wrapping this year! Each year every family member pics a color and vibe so we know who the gifts are from. This year we chose creamy velvet!”

The velvet swaddled gifts are a look to say the least. Many on Instagram wondered how you can even wrap gifts with thick fabric (how do you tape it closed?) while others found the presents lacking in festive cheer thanks to the beige tones and absence of traditional holiday motifs. (Don’t expect to see a snowman or Rudolph under the Kardashian-West tree.)

“Who told Kim Kardashian that it was cute to wrap gifts in bed sheets… she really tried it,” one person tweeted. “This [is] worse than wrapping your textbook in a paper bag when you ran out of book covers,” another added.

While another person on Instagram jokingly compared them to Star Wars: “How many Sand Raiders from Tatooine were hurt in the wrapping of these presents?” they penned.

Meanwhile, others appreciated Kardashian-Wests eco-friendly approach to the holidays.

“Great reusable gift wrapping…no trees hurt! Good going usable year after year after year…..Never out of style! Love it,” one person commented on Instagram. Another wrote, “At least they’re not wasting paper!”

This isn’t the first time Kardashian has divided the Internet with her Christmas decor. Earlier this month, the KKW entrepreneur shared the all-white “whimsical” and “Whoville”-inspired trees in her home. While some called the Seussian decorations unique and chic, others were left comparing the decorations to tampons and cotton balls.

Mariah Carey's New Video for 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' Is So Festive—and Stars Her Kids

Mariah Carey is the undisputed queen of Christmas. Her 1994 hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has become seasonal canon, this year more than ever. The song is currently sitting at the number-one spot on Billboard‘s Hot 100—a product of its ubiquitous airplay this time of year and Carey’s tireless promotional efforts, no doubt.

One of those efforts is a brand-new music video for “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which just dropped on Friday, December 20. The clip is an update on the original nineties clip, featuring Carey dancing in seasonal garb amidst a winter wonderland. It takes festive to a whole new level.

And sweet, too. Carey’s 8-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, make an appearance in the video, as well as mixed-ish actor Mykal-Michelle Harris. I have to say, Moroccan and Monroe’s choreography skills are on point. Maybe we have two future pop stars on our hands!

Watch the new music video for “All I Want for Christmas Is You” for yourself, below.

It’s hard to picture the holidays without “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” but Carey almost didn’t record it. “That’s because it was so early in my career. I didn’t feel, from a strategic point of view, that it was time to do something like that,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “As much as I love Christmas, I thought that the record company was off. Obviously, I couldn’t have been more wrong.”

Mariah Carey also told EW, “I’m excited about the 25th anniversary [of the song]. It’s like everything coming together to give the song a celebratory moment. It’s hard for me to know how much people celebrate this song other than what I hear from friends and just what I read online, or just other things, of people saying that they really get into the spirit with it. That, for me, particularly as a songwriter, is huge.”

Here's What Kate Middleton and Prince William Are Reportedly Getting Their Kids For Christmas

What does the most wonderful time of the year look like when you’re a royal? Pretty laid-back—at least, that’s how sources say Kate Middleton and Prince William are planning to celebrate the holidays with their kids. According to insiders who spoke to Us Weekly, the Cambridge parents are focused on making Christmas all about “family and giving back,” but they’ve also got a few surprises for Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis up their very regal sleeves.

The source says that while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be out of town, Kate Middleton and Co. are heading up to Queen Elizabeth II’s Sandringham estate to welcome Santa as a family. “The way Kate sees it, it’s particularly important for all the royals to reunite and have fun this Christmas, especially after such a turbulent few months,” the source said.

“The kids can barely sleep, they’re so excited. Like every year, they’re going to leave a mince pie out for Santa,” the source continued, adding that the royal children “love dancing to Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas [Is You].'”

And their presents sound pretty great, too. Middleton and Prince William aren’t going anything too flashy, according to reports. Princess Charlotte reportedly asked for a pony, but her dad thinks she might be too young and is going with “a toy riding center” instead. “And George is really into tennis and has asked for a new racket,” the source said, adding they’ll also get play cooking sets “because they love making a mess in the kitchen!”

There’s one extra thing they’ll enjoy, as well: sugar. The sources say they’ve been sneaking treats from the Christmas tree, and that’s OK with their mom and dad: “Kate knows, but since it’s Christmas she lets them get away with having a few more sugary treats than usual.” Sounds like a super-cozy, fun time for everyone.
