Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello Were Spotted Sharing a Kiss

Over the past few weeks, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello have been spotted frequently together, and while that certainly isn’t unusual for the besties, the pair’s reported hand-holding and alleged displays of PDA have the dating rumor mill in overdrive. And now, after a Friday (July 12) outing that had the pair sharing what looks to be a kiss, many on social media are convinced the two are possibly really dating.

Although nothing regarding their relationship status is confirmed, and it’s always best to take reports of possible new relationships with a grain of salt, fans can’t help but get excited after Shawn and Camila were spotted embracing and locking lips. Pop Crave posted video of the interaction, and as E! reported, this latest instance of seemingly romantic PDA came after the two spent the day together in San Francisco.

Prior to sharing a smooch, the two were spotted cuddling and enjoying breakfast together, E! reported. Of course, it is worth noting that besties can share breakfast and a kiss without it meaning something more. However, fans of the two are already sharing their thoughts. “Nobody knows how big of a deal this is to me like I’m shook,” one person tweeted.

Not everyone is entirely convinced that the relationship is well, a relationship. Some are speculating that it’s a possible PR stunt, and one fan noted that it’s still possible for the two to just be really good friends.

This latest development in the ongoing Shawn-and-Camila relationship rumor mill certainly is exciting, but, without confirmation from the pair, we should always be cautious about jumping to conclusions. Both pop stars may live their life in a very public eye, but whatever they choose to do in their private lives will always remain up to them.

Are Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes Dating? An Investigation

Throw on your trench coats and bust out your magnifying glasses, people, because we have a mystery on our hands: Are Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes dating?

Of course, you know these two both together and apart. Cabello is an ex–Fifth Harmony member who’s since become a very successful solo artist. Mendes, meanwhile, also has hit songs and arms that belong in an art museum. Romance rumors between the two first popped up in 2015 and hit a peak recently thanks to their new joint single, “Señorita.” With this song has come a slew of suspiciously timed PDA moments that raises the question: Relationship or PR stunt?

The jury is still out on that—officially—but there are several receipts we can turn to for further insight. So let’s dive in to this great debate, shall we?

The “Señorita” music video. This is where the “more than friends” rumors truly began. Just watch 30 seconds of it and you’ll see why. Cabello and Mendes’s chemistry is palpable, and their interactions in this clip are so steamy that my glasses are now foggy. In fact, I can’t even see what I’m typing right now because of the fog. Am I making sense? Is this English?

All jokes aside, though, it’s important to note this is just a video. As Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper taught us earlier this year, onscreen sparks don’t necessarily mean anything is happening offscreen.

Cabello attended Mendes’s concert twice this past weekend. I wouldn’t bat an eye if she went to the show once, but twice? Plus, factor in all the sweet things she posted about him on Instagram during the show. “@shawnmendes you couldn’t be more amazing,” she wrote on her IG Story. “You’re unreal,” she posted on another slide.

Their Fourth of July festivities. Paparazzi caught the two holding hands last Wednesday evening as they walked to Mendes’s West Hollywood home together, according to ET Canada. They were also spotted at a pool party the next day looking pretty cozy:

A source told E! News of Mendes and Cabello’s holiday fun, “He was holding her at one point and they were staring into the ocean. They both were smiling the entire time and Camilla was laughing a lot. They rarely mingled with other people and were together the entire evening. They were telling people they were a couple.”

Watch the Trailer for Noah Centineo and Camila Mendes' Netflix Rom-Com The Perfect Date

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before alum Noah Centineo is already the Internet’s boyfriend, so his next role isn’t too much of a stretch given that it’s literally called The Perfect Date. In it, he plays a guy who gets paid to be a dream date for young women—so, yeah, the casting decision couldn’t have been better.

The trailer, which Netflix just released today, only adds to the appeal. It introduces us to Centineo as Brooks Rattigan, a high school senior who hopes to attend Yale but doesn’t have the money for the expensive tuition. “I’ve always wanted to date the most popular girl, drive the nicest car and go to the fanciest school. But I can’t afford any of that,” he says in the clip.

To get some extra cash, he ends up escorting Celia Lieberman (played by Laura Marano) to a school dance. It goes so well that it inspires a plan: create an app where people can pay him to be their plus-one at events. His job is to take on the role of whatever stand-in boyfriend they need for the occasion. In the trailer alone, he pretends to be a cowboy, an art connoisseur, and more.

Watch, below:

Because this is a romantic comedy, of course things eventually get knotty. Rattigan starts dating his crush Shelby Pace—played by Riverdale favorite Camila Mendes—and starts living out some rich kid fantasies that distance him from his friends. Naturally, there’s a tricky love triangle with Shelby and Celia to deal with too. (Fun fact: Marano and Centineo actually worked with each other on Austin & Ally back in the day.)

Centineo, of course, brings all the Peter Kavinsky charm that made him a breakout star in To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before (and, hopefully one day soon, the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before sequel).

The Perfect Date is out on April 12 on Netflix, so mark your calendars and prepare to swoon.

'Riverdale' Star Camila Mendes Used an Actual Pancake to Blend Her Makeup

There’s a new brunch beauty hack we never knew we needed, courtesy of Riverdale star Camila Mendes. An Instagram story posted on Friday by her costar Cole Sprouse captures the actress sitting with a plate of breakfast food at Pop’s Diner on the show’s set—when all of a sudden, she grabs a pancake and uses it to blend out her foundation.

Although we definitely don’t suggest trying it yourself—it seems like a waste of a delicious pancake, to be honest—it’s not the strangest thing people have used to blend their makeup: Ambitious beauty Instagrammers have tried all kinds of makeup sponge alternatives, including socks, tomatoes, and even a bra-insert. At one point, people had also made a thing out of wrapping beauty blenders in condoms.

Still, the video is gold, thanks to just how casual she is about repurposing her breakfast order. There’s no audio in Sprouse’s short clip, but you don’t need it to appreciate how Mendes gives “pancake makeup” a whole new meeting.

Mendes usually charms us with her hilarious social media game of trolling reported Riverdale lovebirds Sprouse and Lili Reinhart (we’re still laughing at her third wheel meme from the movie Ghost). But she’s not the only Riverdale star with a thing for makeup tips: Earlier this year, Glamour had Reinhart weigh in on several online beauty tutorials inspired by her character Betty Cooper’s looks on the show. We’ll have to wait and see if she has anything to say about using pancakes as makeup blenders.

Camila Mendes Says Seeking Help for Her Bulimia 'Changed My Life'

Almost exactly one year ago, Camila Mendes opened up for the first time on social media about her past struggles with disordered eating, an admission she made in tandem with announcing her collaboration with Project HEAL, a nonprofit dedicated to providing resources and funding to young people seeking treatment for eating disorders. Since then, she’s continued to speak candidly about her experiences with bulimia, as well as her recent decision to stop dieting once and for all. In her cover interview for the November 2018 issue of Shape, the Riverdale star spoke about how she’s recovering from years of disordered eating, and what made her decide to share this process with her millions of fans and followers.

“I’ve struggled with bulimia. It happened a little bit in high school and again when I was in college. Then it came back when I started working in this industry with fittings all the time and watching myself on camera. I had such an emotional relationship with food and anxiety about everything I put into my body,” Mendes said.“I was so scared of carbs that I wouldn’t let myself eat bread or rice ever. I’d go a week without eating them, then I would binge on them, and that would make me want to purge. If I ate a sweet, I would be like, ‘Oh my God, I’m not going to eat for five hours now.’ I was always punishing myself. I was even anxious about healthy food: Did I eat too much of the avocado? Did I have too many fats for one day? I was consumed with the details of what I was eating, and I always felt as if I was doing something wrong.”

About a year ago, the 24-year-old decided it was time to seek help. “I went to a therapist, and she recommended a nutritionist as well, and seeing both of them changed my life. So much of the anxiety I had about food went away when I started learning more about nutrition. My nutritionist completely cured my fear of carbs. She was like, ‘You need a balanced amount of good, healthy carbs in your life. Have a piece of toast in the morning; have some quinoa at lunch. When you’re eating a little of them all the time, you won’t have this crazy urge to binge. You won’t be scared of carbs anymore because you’re going to realize that eating them isn’t going to make you gain weight,'” Mendes said. “She also cured my addiction to dieting. I was always on some kind of weird diet, but I haven’t been on one since. I’m very proud of myself.”

And while the actor said she still faces some of the same insecurities she did before, she’s found ways to shut them down. “The voices in my head never completely go away. They’re just way quieter now. Every once in a while I’ll look at myself in the mirror and think, ‘Ugh, I don’t like the way that looks.’ But then I’ll just drop it. I don’t let it consume me,” she said. “I think it’s natural to judge or be critical of yourself. Everyone does it. But you can make the decision on the spot that you’re going to conquer it. In those moments I’ll look at myself and say, ‘You’re fine. You look good. This is your prime, so enjoy it.'”

It was that conscious decision to start loving herself just as she is that inspired Mendes to be more open with her followers. “It just felt so necessary for me to speak about those things,” she said. “I realized that I have this platform, and young women and men who look up to me, and there is a tremendous power to do something positive with it. It was definitely a very vulnerable thing to put that out there to almost 12 million people on social media. But that’s who I am. That’s me being authentically myself.” She continued, “As actors, yes, we bring joy to people. But for me, it’s also about what I’m doing for the world, what I’m contributing on a larger scale.”

Camila Coelho Chats Lancôme Lipsticks, Brazilian Beauty, and More

There are influencers and there’s Camila Coelho. The Brazilian makeup artist turned social media star has enough followers on Instagram alone to populate her own small country. (That would be a cool 7.4 million, by the way.) But before she became famous for her jet-setting style and flawlessly painted-on lips, Coelho got her start behind a beauty counter at Macy’s, working her way up from an in-store Dior artist to the upper echelon of digital stardom.

“You’ll never see me without lipstick on,” Coelho tells Glamour. “Even at the gym or the supermarket, I’ll always blot a little color. Lipstick for me is the product and my followers know that.” That’s why it should come as no surprise that when Lancôme was looking to team up on its first-ever influencer collaboration, Coelho and lipstick were a natural fit.

Coelho worked with Lisa Eldridge, Lancôme’s creative director, to create 10 L’Absolu Rouge lipsticks that pay homage to her Brazilian roots and love of a strong lip. To celebrate the launch, which officially lands at Sephora today, we caught up with Coelho to have her answer our Big Beauty Questions—a rapid-fire assortment of things you never knew you wanted to know. Read on, then shop entire collection here.

Glamour: Why is lipstick so important to you?

Camila Coelho: Growing up, lipstick was my thing. It all started when I was six years old; my grandmother gave me a red lipstick to wear for my passport photo. My mom wanted to change it to a light pink so bad, but I kept it. Every time I’d go to visit my grandmother, she always had her hair blow-dried and lipstick on—even if she was just staying home. She’s forever been my inspiration.

Glamour: You travel around the world constantly. What city or country gives you the greatest beauty inspiration?

CC: Every different country I go to gives me a new type of inspiration. For example, when I go to New York, I feel like I can do anything I want—like go all out with a bunch of glitter on my eyes. You can really be yourself and try new things there and no one will bat an eye. In Paris I’m always inspired to be more effortless. I’ll still put makeup on but in a more minimal way. And when I’m in Brazil, I want to be more colorful and tropical.

Actually, now that I think about it, the Middle East—but particularly Dubai—inspires me the most. Women there love to put makeup on and when they go out, they go all out. All I want to do when I’m there is a strong smoky eye and nude lip.

Glamour: What about beauty do you think Brazilians do best?

CC: I always say that Brazilian women have amazing nails. We’re good with hair too, but everyone gets their nails done weekly. It’s a thing in Brazil. It doesn’t matter what they do, what their social looks like, you will always see the women there with a nice nail polish color on. The professionals do an amazing job. If you ever have a chance to go to a Brazilian nail salon, do it.

I’m the type of person who likes to try different shapes. But my go-to is more square. I’ve tried the pointy ones, which in Brazil, women don’t like. They call them “chicken nails.” There, the more classic shapes are popular—either square or round. And then for color, I love nudes and classics like white, black, and navy. This summer I wore a lot of white.

Glamour: What’s one beauty rule you absolutely swear by?

CC: Taking care of your skin first. Because if you don’t, your makeup isn’t going to look as good. You’re going to put stuff on, it’s going to melt, and it’s not going to stay on. It’s a number-one rule for me. I enjoy doing my skin care routine as much as my makeup too. It’s like a spa day. I do around seven steps every night, even when I travel, and it pays off because your skin does change when you take care of it.

Glamour: Your house is burning down! Quick: What three skin care products do you grab?

CC: An eye cream, an acid, and a hydrating serum. I can’t live without eye cream. The area around your eye is so sensitive, and if you don’t hydrate it, you get wrinkles and those creases with concealer. I also put eye cream on my lips, because the skin there is also very thin and needs hydration. As for acids, I love glycolic. I use the Neostrata Gel every other day. It helps so much with your pores, and I don’t really get any breakouts anymore. And then a hydrating serum is a must. Between traveling and always being on planes, I need it.

Glamour: What’s your go-to getting ready music?

CC: Oh my gosh, if you saw my playlist, you would die. I have everything from Brazilian country to Rihanna and Beyoncé. I like everything. Maroon 5! The only exception is really deep rock. When I’m getting ready for something big though, I’ll do more dancing songs. Beyoncé’s new album is amazing. And I’m obsessed with Cardi B.

Glamour: Your hair is gorgeous. What do you to keep it in such great shape?

CC: As a Brazilian, I have a lot of hair that’s really fine and thin. But when I moved from Brazil to Boston, I think it was a difference in the water that caused my hair to stop growing. It was becoming dehydrated, so I had to start doing a lot of deep conditioning masks. So every other day—whenever I wash my hair—I’ll do a mask. And about once a month, I’ll get a hydrating treatment at the salon. Your hair really is just like your skin. Hydration will keep it shiny and healthy.

Glamour: What is your favorite way to take a moment for yourself?

CC: Disconnecting from social media and spending time with loved ones. The time I actually feel most on vacation is when I’m home. Even if it’s just taking five hours away from my phone and not worrying about needing to post, it makes a difference.

Glamour: Screw, marry, kill: mascara, lipstick, highlighter.

CC: Oh, well, marry lipstick of course. I have to. Screw…what does that mean? Just a fling with it? I’d have to say highlighter. It makes you have amazing skin—in photos, especially. And I’ll kill mascara. It’s fine. Maybe it’s because I have naturally good lashes. But I feel like if you have a lip and good skin, you don’t need anything on your eyes.

Glamour: What’s the last Instagram rabbit hole you went down?

CC: It has literally nothing to do with what I do, but I’m really into animal videos. I’ll stay on them for hours. I’ll watch dogs, tigers—I’m obsessed with tigers. I’ll look for hashtags about cute animals or nature. Even my husband, who loves animals, is like, OK, enough.

Glamour: What’s your favorite emoji?

CC: Ha! Obviously, the lips. They’re even on the bullet of my lipsticks.

Glamour: You’ve got $20 and free roam of a drugstore. What do you buy?

CC: I’ll buy makeup remover wipes. Mascara, because it’s cheap. Oh, I can get a Snickers bar! I can’t go in a drugstore and not buy a Snickers.

Glamour: If you could change one thing about beauty perceptions on social media, what would that be?

CC: A lot of people looking at social media think everyone is perfect. We’re not. There are filters and apps that make you look better. Everything is in good light. Social media can make you forget that. It gets to you.
