Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber Put Their Relationship to the Test With a Sweaty Workout


Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber may or may not be dating; that’s still up for debate, because they haven’t confirmed anything yet. What isn’t up for debate, however, is the fact they both love putting themselves in sweaty situations. As in perspiration. From the body. For whatever reason, these two love to sweat.

Want proof? There was the time they went for a bike ride in early November, which no doubt caused them to work up a sweat. Or how about when Gomez kissed Bieber after he finished playing a hockey game? Or when she wore his sweaty hockey jersey in public? If Bieber’s swooped hair was the hallmark of Jelena’s first iteration in 2011, his sweat is the focus now. It’s everywhere.

Including this new photo of Bieber and Gomez leaving a Hot Pilates workout earlier this week. You know a relationship—platonic or not—is the real deal when you spend one hour intentionally sweating around each other. That’s a milestone I’m not sure I could ever pass—no matter how much I like the other person.

Selena Gomez Is Spending New Year's Eve in Mexico—Without Justin Bieber


Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber are the cause of much speculation lately, for obvious reasons. A few weeks ago they took a very PG-rated trip to the Sugar Factor Candy store in Seattle for some sweet treats and a shared non-alcoholic $34 Ocean Blue mocktail. Things seemed good until Gomez reportedly walked out on Bieber because he was doing some embarrassing dance movies, which is kind of incredible if you put yourself in her shoes. Meanwhile, rumor has it that he wasn’t invited to her family’s Christmas celebrations—we don’t know the full details why, but seems a little awkward, no?

Anyway, there’s nothing like a post-Christmas break break, and people are talking about Gomez’s latest trip…without Bieber. But before you read too much into that and think they broke up, that is not the case. Instead, Selena just decided to have a little break from the United States’ cold, dreary winter weather and hopped on a private jet to Cabo this week with some of her best friends to spend their sixth New Year’s together. From there, reports E!, she went straight to a “private villa that features 360-degree views of the ocean blue water and an infinity pool.” Yeah, um, we’d head straight there too.

Of course, what’s a trip to Cabo without hitting up the beach for a ‘gram?

Given this trip looks to be “girlfriends only,” one might surmise that this will be a Justin-less ringing-in of 2018, unless he shows up on his own flight. Which, hey, that could happen: After all, couples don’t necessarily always travel together, and a two-hour and 30-minute flight creates a lot of time for, shall we say, creative dance moves in a very small, enclosed, exitless space.

But our bet is on Selena just enjoying some quality time with some of her BFFs, which is awesome. Meanwhile, Bieber is enjoying some me time: Fans have spotted him playing hockey in Canada.

Selena Gomez Reportedly Walked Out on Justin Bieber During Their Date in Seattle


Selena Gomez isn’t one to just sit around and let herself be publicly embarrassed. At least, not according to an E! News source, who reports that the “Wolves” singer got up and left in the middle of a recent date with Justin Bieber due to—of all the reasons why one might walk out on JBiebs—his obnoxious dancing.

The walk-out happened this past weekend, when Bieber and Gomez jetted off to Seattle for a romantic getaway (read: a break from the paparazzi, who seem to photograph only the two of them anymore). According to E!, the duo was hanging out at the Sugar Factory location in Bellevue, sharing a large drink with two straws, when Bieber, apparently, started showing off some of his moves. Gomez reacted by getting up and walking out of the restaurant, since Bieber’s dancing was “drawing too much attention to them.” But don’t worry, Jelena shippers, Gomez’s power play worked: Bieber almost immediately ceased his dance floor moves and followed Gomez out of the restaurant.

The Seattle getaway may be one of the pop stars’ last hangouts of 2017. As People reported earlier this month, it’s highly unlikely that Bieber is invited to Gomez’s family’s Christmas celebrations. “Justin’s family always loved Selena, but Selena’s family is still not happy about her seeing Justin,” a source told the outlet. “Selena doesn’t bring Justin to any family events. Selena is spending Christmas with her family. As of now, Justin is not invited.”

Especially, it would seem, if he insists on breaking out his over-the-top dance moves everywhere he goes.

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber Just Took a Vacation to a Candy Store


Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are as officially back together as they can be without either of them confirming it—which, no, they haven’t yet so far. And just to reinforce that, and cause the Internet to collectively freak out in the process, the couple escaped from Los Angeles to the Seattle area for a little getaway. The destination? Only one of the most iconic candy stores in the U.S.: the Sugar Factory.

Of course, when you’re Jelena, you travel by private jet—and they left out of Van Nuys Airport outside of L.A. dressed for a cool winter. It was when a fan tweeted out a short video of someone who appears to be Gomez that we discovered where exactly they’d headed off to.

After a lap around the store, they headed to the candy shop’s Chocolate Lounge, where they sat down to a $34, 60-oz., dry-iced, marshmallow-sharked virgin drink called the Ocean Blue. Two straws, no booze for these two lovebirds.

According to TMZ, Bieber only left Gomez’s side as they walked around the store when the Pussycat Dolls’ “Buttons” song came on. (You do you, Bieber.)

The two have been growing more and more public with their relationship-not-a-relationship recently. Gomez recently wore his sweaty hockey jersey, for instance, which you kind of have to be way into a person to do. However, he’s apparently not invited to Gomez’s family’s Christmas celebrations, so that’s some stuff to clear up.

All of these things are making headlines, but despite all of this, Gomez has recently said that no one “actually cares” about them, which, OK, sure.

Justin Bieber Reportedly Isn't Invited to Spend Christmas With Selena Gomez's Family


Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are hanging out again—and they’re very, very happy about it. Like, obscenely happy. Take one look at this photo of them riding bicycles like two giddy chipmunks, and you’ll see it. Gomez is so jazzed about Bieber these days that she has no qualms about wearing his gross, sweaty hockey jerseys in public. Or kissing him as he’s drenched in sweat. She just straight-up doesn’t care about his perspiration, apparently, which is wild. It’s like her infatuation’s made her forget the importance of good men’s deodorant.

But her family is a different story. They’re not enticed by Bieber’s rusty, athletic man sweat—quite the opposite, actually. According to this report from People magazine, Gomez’s family is not on board with her reunion with Bieber. “Justin’s family always loved Selena, but Selena’s family is still not happy about her seeing Justin,” a source told People. Maybe they would be if he just washed his clothes!

Kidding. If this report’s true, we’re sure the family’s issue with Bieber runs deeper than that. Like, they’re probably also not thrilled with the fact his third album is called Believe, which is clearly a Cher rip-off.

Regardless of their reasons, People also reports Bieber is not invited to spend the holidays with Gomez’s family as of now. Damn. This probably throws a wrench in Bieber’s plan to perform all the songs from his Christmas record Under the Mistletoe acoustically for Gomez on Christmas Eve. Again, kidding; there’s no way Bieber was planning that, but can you imagine? I’d pay big money to watch him sing “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” while wearing a tacky sweater— a clean tacky sweater.

There is a silver lining to this story, though: Now Bieber has the holiday free to watch A Christmas Prince as many times as he wants. There’s honestly no better way to spend December 25 than that.

Selena Gomez Finally Breaks Her Silence on Justin Bieber: 'I Cherish People Who Have Really Impacted My Life'


It’s time to just face the facts: We now exist in a world where Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber are dating…again. Don’t know what I’m talking about? Let me catch you up to speed: Gomez was dating The Weeknd, the Northern Hemisphere’s Sexiest Human. However, something—I don’t know what, witchcraft?—propelled her to rekindle things with Bieber, a.k.a. the Boston Barefoot Bandit, shortly after leaving The Weeknd. Maybe it was the fact she and Bieber both attend Hillsong Church that brought her back in. Or his sweaty hockey jerseys. Or his timeless holiday anthem “Mistletoe.” Your guess is as good as mine, but it’s the truth: Jelena 3.0 is officially a go. These kissing pics (also involving sweaty clothes—blech) prove it.

Gomez and Bieber have remained mum about their recently-revived relationship, which is to be expected. Their 2011 puppy love was the subject of relentless tabloid scrutiny, so it’s understandable why they’d want to keep a relatively low profile this time around. That being said, Gomez did nod to Bieber—slightly—in her new interview with Billboard magazine.

Here’s what Gomez said after she was asked how Bieber came back into her life:

“I’m 25. I’m not 18, or 19, or 20. I cherish people who have really
impacted my life. So maybe before, it could have been forcing
something that wasn’t right. But that doesn’t mean caring for someone
ever goes away. And [that goes for] people in general. I mean, I grew
up with Demi [Lovato]. Nick and Joe [Jonas] and Miley [Cyrus] — we’ve
gone through seasons in our lives. I don’t think it’s as serious as
people make things out to be half the time. It’s just my life. I grew
up with all of these people, and it’s so cool to see where everybody
is. It comes back to the idea of me remaining full. I think a true
representation of love is beyond just yourself. It’s me going to get
coffee earlier this morning and talking with a woman who was
celebrating her birthday and going to Disneyland for the first time. I
told her about my favorite things there, and she got excited, and then
I got excited because she was excited. The littlest things are
impactful.”

OK, this is essentially a non-response response, but read between the lines. Gomez didn’t say Bieber wasn’t back in her life. Plus, earlier in the interview, Gomez said she’s been “hanging out with an old friend” who helps keep her in the moment. “Basically every conversation, we want it to be intentional,” she explained. “Meaningful conversations remind you that it’s all within where we are. It’s not about what’s happening with everything else.” Hmmm…we wonder who she’s talking about?! Maybe the person who she went on this totally casual, ’50s-esque bike ride with? That’s where my money’s at.
