Inside North West and Penelope Disick's Epic Candy Land-Themed Birthday Celebration

It’s become somewhat of a Kardashian-Jenner tradition to throw some seriously over-the-top parties—who among us could ever forget Kylie Jenner‘s Stormi World? So, naturally, to celebrate North West‘s sixth birthday on Saturday (June 15), as well as Penelope Disick‘s upcoming seventh birthday on July 8, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian pulled out all the stops to give their daughters a bash they’re definitely going to remember. On Saturday, the sisters brought the game of Candy Land to life by throwing an incredible sweets-themed party.

Kim and Kourtney shared clips of the event on their Instagram Stories—and let’s just say the sugar crash must have been real when the party was all over. There were lollipops, sour ropes, M&Ms, gummi bears, gumballs, Pez, cupcakes, cake pops, and more. It’s unclear which of the Kardashian sisters’ homes the lavish party was held at, but whoever’s backyard it was held in was transformed into the Hasbro board game, complete with a rainbow walkway, candy-themed bounce house, and giant balloons.

Scroll down for an inside look into North and Penelope’s candy-themed birthday party.

This Video of Luna Negotiating Candy With Chrissy Teigen Is So Pure

We don’t have many pure things left in our world, but one of them is this Instagram video of Chrissy Teigen and her daughter, Luna, having a candy negotiation. What’s a candy negotiation, you ask? Well, it’s exactly like it sounds: Luna wanted some candy from her famous mother, but before closing the deal, they had a conversation about the exact amount.

Teigen dubbed the entire situation “candy court,” and it started with Luna’s opening statement. Her reasoning for requesting the candy was simple: “I want the candy because I want it. And I like it.” I’ve never heard a more compelling argument, TBH.

But this wasn’t good enough for Teigen. She made Luna promise to be good and not scream in her sleep if she got the candy—both terms she agreed to. Then the negotiations started: Teigen initially offered one piece of candy to Luna, which she rejected outright. “I say [three],” Luna said, but Teigen didn’t back down. “What about one?” Teigen said again, to which Luna responded, “No, I want three.” Where was Luna when I was negotiating my salary?!

Teigen caved, slightly, and made Luna a final offer of two pieces. She took the deal. What a master class in business, am I right?

Watch all of this go down in the two videos, below:

These types of videos are staples on Chrissy Teigen‘s Instagram. The Cravings author is always giving us hilarious updates on her family life, whether it’s trolling husband John Legend

…or posting adorable photos like this:

“We didn’t think we’d be those kind of parents who were showing [our children] off all the time,” Teigen told Glamour a few weeks ago in regards to her family’s social media presence. “But it became such a normal part of our life. I was never the kind of person who loved posting selfies, or glam photos. I love taking pictures of other people and posting them. I’m with my kids more than anyone else, so it just kind of happens.”

Beauty Company Hard Candy Applies for Trademark on 'Me Too'

Makeup brand Hard Candy has applied to trademark “Me Too.” Yes, that #MeToo. The one founded by Tarana Burke more than ten years ago that has seen a resurgence in visibility and power in the months since Alyssa Milano tweeted it—and as women continue to speak out about the harassment and assault they have suffered.

TMZ first reported the news yesterday that the beauty brand—which began as a cult favorite in the ’90s with its offbeat nail colors—had put wheels in motion to secure the language “Me Too” for makeup and fragrances. According to The Cut‘s patent search, the company submitted the application on October 20. TMZ also reports that Julian Falic, the CEO of Hard Candy‘s parent company, wasn’t specific about plans but that the “intention is to give back to women worldwide” and not a play to make money off the movement.

Hard Candy would certainly not be the first brand to try to get involved in a cultural moment. Nor would they be the first brand to add a charitable element to their sales, if that is indeed the intention. And at this point, it’s unclear even if the application will be approved (as The Cut notes the process generally takes three months), but we’ve reached out to Hard Candy for additional information and will update as more is provided.

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber Just Took a Vacation to a Candy Store

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are as officially back together as they can be without either of them confirming it—which, no, they haven’t yet so far. And just to reinforce that, and cause the Internet to collectively freak out in the process, the couple escaped from Los Angeles to the Seattle area for a little getaway. The destination? Only one of the most iconic candy stores in the U.S.: the Sugar Factory.

Of course, when you’re Jelena, you travel by private jet—and they left out of Van Nuys Airport outside of L.A. dressed for a cool winter. It was when a fan tweeted out a short video of someone who appears to be Gomez that we discovered where exactly they’d headed off to.

After a lap around the store, they headed to the candy shop’s Chocolate Lounge, where they sat down to a $34, 60-oz., dry-iced, marshmallow-sharked virgin drink called the Ocean Blue. Two straws, no booze for these two lovebirds.

According to TMZ, Bieber only left Gomez’s side as they walked around the store when the Pussycat Dolls’ “Buttons” song came on. (You do you, Bieber.)

The two have been growing more and more public with their relationship-not-a-relationship recently. Gomez recently wore his sweaty hockey jersey, for instance, which you kind of have to be way into a person to do. However, he’s apparently not invited to Gomez’s family’s Christmas celebrations, so that’s some stuff to clear up.

All of these things are making headlines, but despite all of this, Gomez has recently said that no one “actually cares” about them, which, OK, sure.

Channing Tatum Told His Daughter He Ate All Her Halloween Candy

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum’s 4-year-old daughter, Everly, is straight-up savage—in the cutest way possible, of course. When Everly’s parents tried to show her Step Up earlier this year, she asked them if they could watch a “real movie” instead. She has no qualms about interrupting her mother’s dance rehearsal and making her presence known. Simply put, Everly does what she wants when she wants; it’s her world, and we’re just living in it.

So it’s no surprise she didn’t respond well when Channing told her he ate all her Halloween candy. Of course, no child on Earth would respond well to this news; that’s why Jimmy Kimmel Live has an entire segment about it that airs every year. Tatum guest-hosted the talk show last night, which is where he shared the video of himself dropping the no-candy bombshell on Everly. After hearing the news, Everly immediately turned her back on Channing and crawled over to Jenna. “I’m sorry; I just got so hungry,” Channing says.

The teasing goes on for a few more seconds before Channing reveals he didn’t actually eat her candy. Everly still isn’t pleased, though, and essentially says the toddler version of, “WTF? That’s not funny, dad!” And she’s right: Honestly, this is low-key a horrible thing to do to children. Why is this a Kimmel segment?!

But I digress. Check it out for yourself, below:

Earlier this year, Tatum wrote a really beautiful essay about Everly for Cosmopolitan magazine, which more than makes up for this gag. “I don’t want her looking to the outside world for answers,” he wrote. “My highest hope for her is just that she has the fearlessness to always be her authentic self, no matter what she thinks men want her to be.”

Trump Just Managed to Make Halloween Candy Weird

While most kids were parading around elementary school in their costumes at their annual school Halloween parties, the children of White House journalists went trick-or-treating in the Oval Office on Friday. As much as President Donald Trump likes to hate on the media, he took time out of his day to give the kids candy and have a photo op around his desk. But in true Trump fashion, things quickly got a little awkward.

Children dressed up as characters like unicorns, Princess Leia, and Batman gathered around the desk and, as kids do, they went pretty much silent when a man like the president started talking to them. They shuffled around, finally making their way to Trump as he asked them to come stand by him. He comforted a crying child and complimented them all on their costumes. But throughout the visit, he couldn’t help but make pointed jabs at the kids’ parents.

“I cannot believe the media just produced such beautiful children,” the President joked. They continued standing around as the cameras clicked. “You’re going to grow up to be like your parents? Hmm, don’t answer. That can only get me in trouble, that question.”

Things were getting uncomfortable, but bags of treats arrived just in time to the save the day. Well, at first: Trump went on to make even Halloween candy awkward.

As the president handed the bags out to the kids, he said, “You have no weight problems—that’s the good news, right? So, you take out whatever you need, OK? If you want some for your friends, take ’em. We have plenty.”

Apparently it’s never too early to start bringing up issues of body image with elementary school kids all excited about dressing up. Here’s hoping they can get by with a simple “Trick or treat!” for the rest of their Halloween fun on Tuesday.
