Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson Apparently Have Matching Breakup Tattoos

It looks like Ariana Grande has said “Thank U, Next” to another one of the tattoos she got when she and Pete Davidson were coupled up. During the course of their short-lived but loved-up romance, Pete got a number of tattoos for Ariana—including a pair of her Dangerous Woman bunny ears on his neck. But right before their split became official in October, Pete covered his neck tat with a, gasp, black heart.

Here’s the before:

Now, a sneak peek from her much-anticipated rom-com-inspired music video for the chart-topping song reveal that there’s a new tiny black heart on her finger, right where she used to have Pete’s initials.

Check it out—right on the cover of her take on Mean Girls‘ “Burn Book”:

The black heart, by the way, is the same emoji she’s been using in her tweets and to promote “Thank U, Next“.

But this isn’t the first tattoo that’s been covered up. Ariana’s also continued to ink over her other Pete tats: Her “Reborn” one, for example, is now a sprig of lavender.

It’s believed that Ariana still has a “Lumos” tattoo that she got for Pete’s love of Harry Potter, Pete’s late father’s fire department badge number on her foot, and the two’s matching “H2GKMO” tat, which stands for “Honest to God, knock me out.” Covered-up tats or nah, we’re glad the couple seems to be processing and healing from this rollercoaster of a time.

Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin Apparently Got Matching Tattoos

Hollywood’s obsession with matching tattoos isn’t going anywhere. After Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande revealed the first of their matching tattoos back in May, and Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner were seen with coordinating ink, it seems another famous couple has followed suit. Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin have matching infinity symbols on their arms.

Johnson’s new ink was first spotted on her left elbow over the weekend in Venice, Italy, where she was on hand for the premiere of her new psychological horror movie, Suspiria. Martin was seen with the exact same design on his right forearm in Los Angeles a day prior, the Daily Mail reports. While it’s entirely possible that the matching tattoos are just a coincidence, the unique “xx” detail suggests that this was likely a joint effort.

Though the clandestine couple has yet to make an official public appearance together, the tattoos are further confirmation that these two are still going strong after a year of dating. “They have spent a lot of time together,” a source told People in June. “Chris lives in Malibu and Dakota seems to love hanging out there. They occasionally go for dinner with friends, but mostly have friends over at home. They go to the beach together, and walks around the neighborhood. They seem to enjoy sharing a quiet life. It does seem they are getting more serious.”

Johnson’s mom, actress Melanie Griffith, also chimed in on her daughter’s relationship, telling People that she “adores” the Coldplay frontman. With Johnson likely about to hit the awards circuit thanks to her mesmerizing performance in Suspiria, these two lovebirds will have plenty of opportunities to make their relationship red carpet official. Until then, matching tattoos will just have to do.

Blake Lively Apparently Drove Herself to the Hospital While in Labor

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have the most wonderful social media relationship—and, we’re pretty sure, real-life relationship too. (Reynolds has, after all, called being Lively’s husband the “best gig”.) As it turns out, their partnership holds fast even during critical moments—like, say, when Lively was in labor and needing to head straight for the hospital.

In a tweet that is also not-so-subtly a promo for Lively’s upcoming movie, A Simple Favor, Reynolds threw in a little factoid guaranteed to get headlines: “You can tell me. We’re married. You once drove me to the hospital when you were giving birth. So… what the fuck happened to Emily?” (Emphasis ours.)

He was replying to this emoji-filled tweet from Lively, which was also teasing her movie: “❓????❓ @ASimpleFavor”

After Ryan’s response, Lively chimed back in: “Oh darling, of all the secrets I’m keeping from you, this should be the LEAST of your concerns… trust me.”

This isn’t the first time Lively/her team have harnessed her social media to promo A Simple Favor. At the beginning of May, she wiped her Instagram clean, replacing her bio with “What Happened to Emily?…”. For those of us who follow Lively’s self-styled outfits, this was an egregious blow, but she luckily had it back up and running in no time.

Nor is it the first instance of a little social media back-and-forth for her and hubby Reynolds. The two are experts at trolling each other, like that one time when Reynolds wished Lively a happy birthday with a picture of the two of them—but cropped her out of it. Now that one of their daughters is in on the tradition, too, we’re just ready for the next installment.

Apparently Melania Trump Is a Fan of Cecily Strong's 'SNL' Parodies of Her

There have been more than a few viral moments involving First Lady Melania Trump, like certain fashion choices, her selfie-taking, and the kind of awkward way she watched those ballerinas dance during the holidays. However, if you’re in the SNL writers’ room, the moments definitely make for material when it comes to writing sketches to parody the First Family—something practically written in the job description, no matter the President. And although you’d think Melania wouldn’t enjoy the impersonations, which occur on a fairly consistent basis, it turns out she’s a fan of Cecily Strong’s parody of her on Saturday Night Live after all.

On Friday, Strong appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to discuss her upcoming movie, The Female Brain. “You do a great Melania Trump impression,” Fallon said. “Did you meet her when Trump hosted?” he asked.

“Briefly, yes. She came to the dinner,” Strong said. “I don’t remember her saying anything, really.”

Trump did acknowledge Strong, though. “She pointed at me when she walked in, and then I think [Donald Trump] said, ‘She likes your impression.’ I heard through the grapevine that she watches the show and she likes it,” Strong explained.

Strong also joked that she thinks Trump does things purposely to give SNL better material. “I feel like she gives us little messages,” she said. For example, when Melania decorated the White House for the holidays: “I think that was a gift she gave to us, specifically” Strong said. “And that white dress staring at the ballerina, that was for us.”

There’s been speculation recently that Trump might be sending another message to the masses with her outfit at the State of the Union. She wore a pantsuit, a style that Hillary Rodham Clinton is known for wearing. And her look was all-white, a possible nod to the female Democrats who chose to wear white to the President’s joint session last year to reference the suffragette movement in support of women’s rights.

Oprah for President in 2020 Is Apparently Not a Far-Fetched Possibility

Oprah for President” is a campaign that has been wistfully bandied about by her devotees for quite a while now, but after her incredible speech at last night’s Golden Globes, it’s evolved into a matter a little more serious—and it seems like Oprah might be embracing the idea.

#Oprah2020 began trending on Twitter toward the end of the night after she wrapped her passionate acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille Award. The first black woman to be awarded the honor in its 66-year history, her speech—mixing shade at the current administration, tribute to women living in a “culture broken by brutally powerful men,” and some incredibly inspiring words to remind us all that “a new day is on the horizon”—brought the room to its feet.

The L.A. Times found her at her table, where she was sitting with Gayle King and Ava DuVernay (power trio), and asked her about Twitter’s proposed campaign. She smiled, and replied, “OK!”

We’re not entirely sure whether she’s joking there, but the Internet promptly erred on the side of “This speech was her kicking off her campaign”—hence the trending hashtag.

Her partner, Stedman Graham, didn’t do much to damper the excitement, either: The Times asked him whether she would actually, IRL, you’re-not-messing-with-us-are-you run for president, and he replied: “It’s up to the people. She would absolutely do it.” Twitter hype aside, that sounds like a legit, firm response saying “If you want Oprah to be president, she will forge onward and make it so.”

Of course, a few pointed out that, somewhat like the current president, she doesn’t have legislative experience (at least she’s an actual self-made billionaire, though?). One Twitter user gave a different, but incredibly valid, take: “Y’all want #Oprah2020 so bad? Prove it. Spend this year electing Black women to office in 2018. Put in the work. Show some receipts. Then we can talk about the presidency in 2020. Deal?”

Keeping in the spirit of the evening, getting more women in politics—especially women of color in politics—is an incredible way to keep crumbling away at the structure of men who abuse the system and the power they have. Whether or not #Oprah2020 becomes a real thing, turning out on Election Day this year to empower women on the ballots is one thing that will have tangible, lasting impact.

So This Is Apparently Why Jack Had to Die in 'Titanic'

One of the most poignant moments in Titanic—which is turning the big 2-0—is, of course, when Rose has to let Jack go once they come to the conclusion that they both cannot share the floating board that will ultimately save one and only one life. (Of course, it sure seems like they could have huddled on it together, but hey, that’s up to director James Cameron and the props department and Cameron has corrected my absolutely child-level knowledge of physics and pointed out it’s a matter of buoyancy, not space, but ah, the loss of young love.) In any case, we’ve wrestled with the untimely collapse of these star-crossed lovers for the better part of two decades, and Cameron himself is here to clear up any lingering doubts. And also he is here to chastise us for still being obsessed with it (sorry not sorry).

In an interview with Vanity Fair published on Sunday, he says that the reason Jack had to die is that on page 147 of the script, Jack dies. Which like, come on—we weren’t there on handout day and no one sent us notes.

He then expands a bit. “I think it’s all kind of silly, really, that we’re having this discussion 20 years later. But it does show that the film was effective in making Jack so endearing to the audience that it hurts them to see him die,” he told Vanity Fair. Yeah, no kidding. That pile of crumpled tissues every time I watch isn’t because I keep spilling my wine.

“Had he lived,” Cameron continues. “The ending of the film would have been meaningless. . . . The film is about death and separation; he had to die. So whether it was that, or whether a smoke stack fell on him, he was going down. It’s called art, things happen for artistic reasons, not for physics reasons.”

But…but…the door! “Art” could have supported them when your physics could not!

Fine. If it’s for art, well, Vive le cinéma! And if this is the Romeo and Juliet of the sexually repressed Edwardian era, we can maybe accept it. At least they had that steamy time in the back of that car. Good on them!

But, IDK, maybe a smokestack would have been better? That water was cold.

P.S. Titanic is coming back to theaters in December. You’re welcome.
