Prince Harry Is Away for Valentine's Day, so People Covered His Room With Meghan Markle Pics

We’ve known for a while now Prince Harry and Meghan Markle aren’t spending Valentine’s Day together this year. Unfortunately, royal duty calls for the Duke of Sussex: He’s currently in Bardufoss, Norway, visiting the Exercise Clockwork, an “annual winter exercise, based in one of the world’s most demanding environments—200 miles inside the Arctic Circle—which has trained over 16,000 Royal Marines and Royal Navy sailors and airmen since 1969.” So, in other words, he’s seriously watching people work out in the freezing cold instead of hanging out with Meghan. So sad!

But the people at Exercise Clockwork just brought her a little bit closer to him. In a very sweet move, they covered one of the makeshift shelters Prince Harry stopped by with photos of him and Meghan on their wedding day. Prince Harry’s smile when he saw these photos is absolutely priceless:

“You weirdos,” Prince Harry joked when he saw the photos, according to E! Online. “It’s very kind of you to invite me into your private shrine or whatever you want to call it.”

This means Markle is spending Valentine’s Day on her own too—but if this recently unearthed blog post from her old website The Tig is any indication, she’s not sweating it. Back in 2015 Markle wrote about how practicing self-love on Valentine’s Day is the most important thing.

“This Valentine’s Day I will be with friends, running amok through the streets of New York, likely imbibing some cocktail that’s oddly pink, and jumping over icy mounds in my new shoes through the salted snowy streets of the West Village,” she wrote, according to People. “But those shoes, by the way, were my gift to myself. Because I’ve worked hard, because I’m not going to wait for someone to buy me the things I covet (nor do I want to), and because I want to treat myself as well as I treat those dearest to me. Because I am my own funny Valentine.”

Miley Cyrus Wrote a Hilarious Valentine's Day Message to Liam Hemsworth

Miley Cyrus kicked off her first Valentine’s Day married to Liam Hemsworth in the most Miley Cyrus way: by posting a hilarious meme.

The “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” singer took to Instagram Stories Wednesday night (February 13) and posted a throwback photo of herself from the Bangerz Tour with the caption, “When it’s Valentine’s Day and bae says hi.” She also tagged Hemsworth and wrote “Love u.” When you see the photo, you’ll instantly understand why it’s funny.

Check out the meme for yourself, below:

Here’s the original photo, which was taken in Dublin back in May 2014. Ahhh, simpler times—when Cyrus’ stage prop of choice was a foam finger and she slid down a giant tongue at the top of her show. Take me back.

This isn’t the only racy message Miley Cyrus has sent Liam Hemsworth this week. On Monday, she attended the premiere of Hemsworth’s new movie Isn’t It Romantic by herself because he was sick, and she posted to Instagram, “Getting sick blows. But so do I. Get well soon babe. I love you.” Listen, everyone jumps out in February! It’s scientific fact.

Cyrus and Hemsworth tied the knot back in December, and they’ve made a few appearances together since then. Last month, they attended the G’Day USA Gala, where Hemsworth praised Cyrus while accepting the Excellence in Film Award. “Thank you to my beautiful wife,” he said. “You are a sweet, sweet angel.”

And just a few days before this, Cyrus wrote the sweetest note to Hemsworth for his birthday. “I love those little lines around your eyes when you laugh or look into the sun…. I love the way we speak in our own language. Sometimes with just a look,” she wrote on Instagram. “I love laying on the couch eating Chinese when we’re hung over from the night before. I love going to a random party and remembering basically everyone is fake AF out here and how lucky I am to share a life with someone so REAL. I love the way you always listen & the way that you care… (Even when it’s about RuPaul’s Drag Race.) I love having a teeth brushin’ partner & when I’m lazy how you’ll comb my hair.”

Ariana Grande's Valentine's Day Manicure Is a Total Mood

Fresh off Friday’s release of thank u, next—a standout album featuring 41 minutes of extremely excellent bops that reportedly took just two weeks to produceAriana Grande is also sporting a fresh manicure. Given that Valentine’s Day is just a few days away, it’s only fitting that it’s in line with the romance-themed holiday, as she showed off on Instagram Stories on Friday with some tongue-in-cheek humor. It just might not be in the way you’d totally expect.

Grande’s 2018 was more than a little rough, romantically speaking: a breakup with Mac Miller, followed by a 0-to-100 relationship with SNL comedian Pete Davidson complete with a ring, then Miller’s death—and then a breakup with Davidson. Her time since then has been one of taking a minute for herself, and apparently, the incredible burst of creative productivity that led to her new album. As far as dating, that’s the furthest thing from her mind: As she tweeted on New Year’s in response to a fan asking who she was dating, “spoiler for the rest of this year / probably my life: it’s no one. please refer back to this tweet for future questions. ?”

This spirit runs true in her Valentine’s mani, too—but with Ariana’s dry sense of humor. She posted an Instagram Story on Friday that first showed off her friend Alexa’s neon, heart-shaped, almost French manicure-like tips (we told you they’re coming back). Each one had a little Valentine’s message written on it, like what you usually get on those chalky candy hearts: “Hug me,” “Yum,”—you get it.

“Nice Valentine’s Day nails, Alexa,” Ari says as she pans the camera. “They’re so cute.” Next up is a glimpse of Ariana’s own nails, each of which is a plain baby pink except for her left ring finger, which has a “NAH” painted on it.

Her message is pretty loud and clear (and downright funny): It’s a thank u, next for Valentine’s Day this year.

Why Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Are Spending Valentine's Day Apart This Year

It looks like Meghan Markle and Prince Harry won’t be spending Valentine’s Day together this year. No worries, though: It’s just a work obligation keeping these two apart. Kensington Palace announced Monday morning (January 28) that Prince Harry has an engagement on February 14 at Exercise Clockwork, which is “the traditional name of the annual winter exercise, based in one of the world’s most demanding environments 200 miles inside the Arctic Circle, which has trained over 16,000 Royal Marines and Royal Navy sailors and airmen since 1969.”

Prince Harry, if you forget, is the Captain General of the Royal Marines and will spend his time at Exercise Clockwork meeting military personnel on the base, checking out the group’s severe weather equipment, and talking to a few aircrew members and engineers.

I understand that duty calls, but exercising in the frigid cold sounds horrible—especially when you know you could be kicking it with Meghan Markle, eating roast chicken and talking about old episodes of Suits.

Of course, the couple will have more opportunities to celebrate their love. The one-year anniversary of their royal wedding is just around the corner; plus, their first child is due around late April or early May. “Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public,” Kensington Palace tweeted in October 2018 to announce the couple’s baby news.

Not being with each other on special occasions is something Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have experienced in the past. Remember last November, when they couldn’t spend their engagement anniversary together because Prince Harry was on a solo trip to Zambia? When you’re the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, it’s just part of the job.
