Victoria Beckham Fist-Pumping to 'Spice Up Your Life' Is the Best Thing You'll See Today

Here’s a riddle for you: What’s the next best thing after a Spice Girls reunion? If you answered “video footage of Victoria Beckham (a.k.a. Posh Spice) fist-pumping to ‘Spice Up Your Life’ at a London Fashion Week party,” then, congrats, you win a prize. The video in question was taken by Siobhan Bell, who posted it to Instagram: “Can’t actually believe @victoriabeckham a living legend ‘SPICE UP YOUR LIFE!’” she wrote in the caption.

According to The Cut, Bell filmed the video at the after-party Vogue threw for the tenth anniversary of Beckham’s eponymous fashion label. In it, Beckham (rocking a white pantsuit) can be seen leading the room in a dance-off while lip-synching along to the classic Spice Girls hit.

According to Vogue‘s recap of the festivities, the Fashion Week flash mob to “Spice Up Your Life” was actually the last song of the night. That’s a pretty good send-off, and we can thank DJ Fat Tony for gifting it to us, according to Vogue.

This is the second time this month that VB has done some fun throwbacks to her days as a Spice Girl. In early September she relived some of her iconic outfits for a British Vogue photo shoot, even throwing in some subtle lyrics while delivering a monologue to EIC Edward Enninful.

Unfortunately, despite Beckham’s apparent enthusiasm for the Spice Girls’ past hits, it looks like she’s not planning to actually get up onstage and perform them anytime soon. Back in February she completely shut down all rumors of a Spice Girls reunion by telling British Vogue, “I’m not going on tour. The girls aren’t going on tour.”

But fingers crossed that she’s since changed her mind. In July, Mel B (a.k.a. Scary Spice) went on the Today show and said a reunion is definitely happening. “She’s always saying that,” Mel B said about Beckham’s comments.

“We are touring. Should I have really said that out loud?” added Mel B. “Yes, we are going to be doing performances together for sure.”

22 Iconic Denim Moments We're Still Talking About Today

Denim is so ingrained into pop culture, it’s easy to take its influence for granted. Sure, it’s charming when a celebrity buys jeans we can shop ourselves—but we’re ultimately not that surprised when they do. (Don’t forget that, nearly a year ago, all it took for Meghan Markle to become the world’s most relatable royal-to-be was a pair of distressed jeans.) But denim has irreversibly altered the fashion landscape, despite its relatively brief history. (The first women’s jeans weren’t released until 1934, though denim wasn’t considered “acceptable” for women’s wardrobes until the late forties.) Still, denim broke down certain gender and class barriers other types of apparel hadn’t because of its nearly universal appeal. And its most extreme reinterpretations—like, when a public figure stepped out in a surprising take on the style—challenged conventions of what we wear and how we wear it today.

Pop culture played an important role in denim’s rise to ubiquity. Look back on the past eighty-odd years, and a handful of key moments from entertainment, politics, and fashion stand out. And there’s a reason why we still talk about them. Here, we revisit some of the most influential denim outfits from the past century.

We bring you the trends. You make them your own. Sign up for our daily newsletter to find the best fashion for YOU.

Prince George Is Celebrating His Fifth Birthday Today

Prince George, the eldest child of Kate Middleton and Prince William, turns five years old today—and what better way to celebrate the junior royal than with cute pictures and official currency? Kensington Palace released an adorable photograph of little George, and, because we’re talking about a possible future king here, the Royal Mint also issued a new £5 coin to mark his first half decade.

On Saturday, Kensington Palace took to Twitter to share a photo that shows Prince George grinning broadly and looking super grown-up since his days as the lone royal baby. The picture was reportedly taken earlier this month in the garden of Clarence House after the christening of his little brother, Prince Louis. The caption reads, “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share a new photograph of Prince George to mark His Royal Highness’s fifth birthday tomorrow.”

Prince George also got a special gift from the Royal Mint: a limited-edition £5 coin, which features the image of St. George and a dragon. The coin will be available for public purchase today (Sunday), and it marks at least the fourth time Prince George has been honored with commemorative currency: The Royal Mint released coins for his first and second birthdays, as well as for his christening in 2013.

“The birth of Prince George altered the course of history in the United Kingdom, and we are pleased to be marking the fifth birthday of our future king,” Nicola Howell, director of consumer business at The Royal Mint, said in a statement.

But what about the royal birthday bash? The Express points out that Kate and Prince William tend to keep their kids’ parties a private, family affair. They’re rumored to be vacationing in the Carribbean, so it could be that Prince George’s celebration is going to involve a lot of island sun.

Prince George is the third in line for the British throne, following his grandfather Prince Charles and his father Prince William. Already, he’s won people over with his adorable antics alongside his younger sister Princess Charlotte—and personally, we can’t get enough.

Happy birthday, Prince George! Long may you reign over our hearts.

Meghan Markle Had a Very Relatable Flub With the Queen on Their Trip Today

Meghan Markle had her first solo engagement with Queen Elizabeth today, and things seemed to go off without a hitch. The pair palled around Cheshire, England, posing for photos, visiting school children, and attending bridge openings—you know, standard royal fare.

One snafu did happen on Markle and the queen’s trip, though—well, if you can even call it that. The Daily Mail dubbed this incident Markle’s “first royal faux pas,” but honestly, it was just a somewhat awkward moment that could’ve happened to anyone. Queen Elizabeth probably isn’t sweating it—and, hopefully, Markle isn’t either.

Here’s what happened: After the royal train dropped Markle and the queen off in Cheshire, they walked toward an awaiting car. It appears Markle was told to enter the car before the queen. However, the queen didn’t know this, so she started going into the car. That’s when Markle stopped and asked the monarch, “What’s your preference?” Because the queen prefers sitting behind the driver, she hung back and let Markle go in before her. Shortly after, the queen settled into her preferred seat.

Watch the exchange go down for yourself in the video, below:

“This is just a case of habit not protocol (protocol actually says the most important person sits diagonally behind the driver) but the queen has always preferred being directly behind whoever is driving her,” a royal etiquette expert told Daily Mail Online.

Markle’s situation here is extremely relatable. She just married Prince Harry a month ago, after all, and is still figuring all this “royal protocol” business out. I’d 10/10 do the same thing here if I were her—most of us would. It’s possible the royal family didn’t brief Markle on the queen’s seat preference, which is why this happened. Regardless, it was seamlessly fixed and Markle and the queen went off to enjoy their day together. In-laws!

Meghan Markle Touched Prince Harry's Back Today, and Twitter's Swooning

If you thought the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle mania was dying down now that the royal wedding is over, think again. The new Duke and Duchess of Sussex had their first engagement today as a married couple: the 70th birthday patronage celebration for Harry’s father, Prince Charles, at the Buckingham Palace Gardens.

At the event, Markle and Prince Harry shared a subtle PDA moment that’s setting the Internet ablaze. While walking back into the palace, the new Duchess of Sussex let go of her husband’s arm to give him a small back rub, as seen in a video posted by the Daily Mail‘s royal correspondent on Twitter.

Below, check out some Twitter reactions of Prince Harry and Markle’s tender moment:

As Cosmopolitan pointed out, this kind of behavior is yet another way that Markle is shaking up royal tradition; Prince William and Kate; Prince Charles and Camilla; and Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip all rarely engage in this kind of “PDA.” The women of the royal family only occasionally hold on to their husbands’ arms while walking together, if anything.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, on the other hand, have never held back from outwardly expressing their love for each other. Way back in October, before they announced their engagement, Markle and Prince Harry were spotted holding hands, leaning on each other, and—gasp!—kissing at the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games.

In recent months, as Markle began joining Prince Harry on royal outings, they often held hands while greeting well-wishers. And on Saturday, the couple continually held hands, gazed into each other’s eyes, and stole kisses throughout their wedding ceremony and carriage procession throughout Windsor.

Olivia Wilde's Childbirth Story Is Honestly the Craziest Thing We've Heard Today

Most moms would tell you that they can remember exactly where they were and what they were doing when they went into labor. What’s unusual is, say, if they were breaking it down at a concert when their little one decided it was time to enter the world—but that’s exactly what happened with Olivia Wilde. Just four years ago, she and her partner, Jason Sudeikis, had their first child, Otis Alexander Sudeikis. And in honor of Otis’ fourth birthday, Wilde shared the crazy story of her son’s birth.

The A Vigilante actress shared a photo of her son on Saturday wearing a crown and posing with a birthday cupcake. Wilde’s caption reveals that she was at a Jon Batiste concert at a venue in New York City four years ago when her water broke. She wasn’t in a rush, however: Wilde stayed until the end of the concert before heading to the hospital to give birth to her baby boy.

“4 years ago today we were at a @jonbatiste concert at Webster Hall in Manhattan, and this little one decided he wanted to come out and join the dance party,” Wilde wrote in her Insta caption. “My water broke somewhere up on the balcony. So next time you’re there, think of us. ?. (We obviously stayed til the end of the show. Cuz that’s how we do.) Happy birthday, Otis!!!”

Back to the present: It looks like the family went to Disneyland to celebrate Otis’ fourth birthday. (Or, as Wilde named it, “Mousechella.”)

Weirdly enough, Wilde and Sudeikis almost had their second child, Daisy Josephine, at a concert as well: In October 2016 the couple was on their way to a Beyoncé concert when the actress started experiencing contractions. This time, they skipped the concert and headed to the hospital. Daisy didn’t arrive that night—the contractions wound up stopping—but a few days later, they welcomed their baby girl.

Don’t know about you, but these are some of the Wildest going-into-labor stories we’ve heard.
