Katy Perry Had a Complete Meltdown During This American Idol Proposal


Katy Perry had the world’s most dramatic reaction to a proposal—and it wasn’t even her own. On Monday night’s episode of American Idol, the singer literally fell to the floor and broke down in sobs after contestant Johanna Jones got engaged in front of everyone.

Jones had just finished singing her rendition of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game,” and she was in the middle of telling the judges she was “pretty dang in love” with her boyfriend, who allegedly couldn’t make her audition because of his final exams. Just then, said boyfriend popped up next to her and told her she was the love his life. He got down on one knee and he asked her to marry him, which sent Perry into full meltdown mode.

There were tears. There were howls. There was a theatrical slump to the ground. Perry’s fellow judges, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, both helped her up and made sure she was OK throughout the touching proposal. “Why won’t someone love me like that?” she wailed between sobs. Her reaction was so intense that a makeup artist had to come on set and touch up her mascara.

It was a lot, but Jones seemed happy to share the moment with Perry, who gushed over her ring.

The episode was filmed before Perry’s own boyfriend Orlando Bloom proposed to her, which has us wondering how she reacted when she was the one getting a diamond ring. If this engagement is any indication, there were many tears.

Even her Idol costars took the opportunity to teases her a little bit. Bryan tweeted some backstage footage of her crying her eyes out and wrote, “Thank goodness Orlando put a ring on it, @katyperry. Thought you weren’t going to make it there for a second.” We’ve got to say, we agree.

Your Baking Idol Chrissy Teigen Already Had Her First Thanksgiving Fail


Chrissy Teigen, Glamour Woman of the Year and queen of the kitchen, has already had her first Thanksgiving fail—and she’s handling it like a true holiday hero.

Given Teigen’s prowess in the kitchen, it’s no surprise the Cravings author is whipping up a Thanksgiving feast. Which, according to her Instagram Story, has been an ongoing project for the past day—roasted turkey and fresh cranberries and sweet potato pies. Before you watch it, be warned, your mouth will definitely be watering.

But as anyone who’s ever tried to cook a meal this big knows, it’s a journey. A saga filled with unexpected challenges. A noble quest that could break even the best of chefs. Holding down multiple dishes at once ain’t easy—even for the pros.

The proof is in Teigen’s latest post. After sharing this truly delicious footage of a sweet potato pie in her Stories, the final result almost didn’t make the social media cut. “In case you are wondering why I didn’t put my finished pie on my Instastory,” she wrote, right next to the sad remains of a sweet potato pie burnt to a crisp.

Naturally, people are living for the realness of Chrissy’s usual candor. “You are a regular human woman like the rest of us stressed over the holidays. Thanks for keeping it real,” one commenter wrote. Another, echoing what we’re all thinking, said, “I love how you are so real and open. No faking with you. Now, can I get a slice of the crunch pie?”

A few commenters suggested simply scraping off the top and piling on whipped cream (which, let’s be real, actually sounds pretty good), but Chrissy is a pro who does not get daunted. After sharing the Thanksgiving fail, she was back at it with attempt number two, and it’s looking great.

Ryan Seacrest Was Caught Making Creepy Comments to Katy Perry on Idol


On Sunday night’s episode of American Idol, the five remaining contestants were coached by the show’s first-ever winner, Carrie Underwood, and eventually whittled down to a final three. But the most attention-grabbing part of the night came when host Ryan Seacrest was seemingly caught on camera making creepy comments to judge Katy Perry.

“Your mom’s pretty,” Seacrest, leaning against the judges’ table, tells Perry in the clip. “My mom? Well, I hope the apple doesn’t fall from the tree,” she replies, giving the camera an exaggerated smile and wink. “You are too. But you’re not a mom yet,” Seacrest continues in a low voice, prompting Perry to confirm, “Not yet.” “Wanna talk about it?” Seacrest asks. As the studio audience stays silent, Perry and fellow judge Luke Bryan share a laugh, and judge Lionel Richie tells Seacrest, “Don’t start,” before Perry reminds Seacrest that the show is back on air.

Many people have taken to Twitter to react to the moment. “That delay on @AmericanIdol when no one knew they were back so Ryan Seacrest asks Katy Perry if she’s a mom and if she wants him to help with that made me feel so uncomfortable. Is that an appropriate question? I don’t think so,” one person wrote. Others, however, suggested that the back-and-forth was scripted or planned and simply fell flat. “I’ve worked on several shows, and it’s all extremely controlled, the countdown from commercials and on air time, so I think it was planned,” one tweeted.

Planned or not, the exchange is apparently leaving some viewers “uncomfortable” due to Seacrest’s being accused earlier this year of sexual misconduct by his former personal stylist at E! News, Suzie Hardy. Seacrest has repeatedly denied all of Hardy’s allegations.
