Kim Kardashian Recreated Elle Wood's Harvard Video for Halloween, and It's Perfect


Kim Kardashian has had some memorable Halloween costumes over the years. She’s been Anna Wintour, Tejano queen Selena, and even Madonna, but this year might mark her best outfit yet. On Thursday, October 31, she posted a photo of herself in a blond wig, touting a bag with a very familiar-looking chihuahua in it and holding a pink feather pen. Yup, it was all in the style of the one and only Elle Woods from the beloved rom-com Legally Blonde.

Kardashian even went the extra mile by posting an entire video inspired by Woods’s Harvard admissions tape. She recreated some of Woods’s most iconic scenes and lines, including the brilliant “I’m able to recall hundreds of important details at the drop of a hat.” Kim wore several of Elle’s looks while recording the video, including the hot pink dress and neon green bikini that Reese Witherspoon made famous in the film.

The costume is clearly poking fun at Kim Kardashian’s goal of becoming a lawyer. Skeptics mocked her after she told Vogue earlier this year she was pursuing a law career and was hoping to take the bar in 2022. “I had to think long and hard about this,” she said. Her decision came after got involved with the justice system while working to help release Alice Marie Johnson, a grandmother who had been serving a life sentence for a first offense, nonviolent drug charge. “I just felt like the system could be so different, and I wanted to fight to fix it, and if I knew more, I could do more,” Kardashian said. This Elle Woods bit proves Kardashian is taking the criticism surrounding her career pivot lightly. Reese Witherspoon is probably living for this, I’m sure. Who knows? Maybe Kim will make an appearance in Legally Blonde 3.

Bella Hadid Just Chopped Her Hair Into the Perfect Bob for Fall


Bella Hadid has been playing chameleon with her hair all summer. First, she surprised fans by going just a bit brighter, and then she went full blond with a hair change that looked wildly similar to that of her sister Gigi’s. Now, she’s had yet another transformation: She’s chopped off several inches of her hair and is currently sporting a very chic blond bob that actually resembles a cut she’s had as a brunette.

Hadid definitely likes changing things up, but we’d gotten used to seeing her with dark hair. It was an easy way to tell her apart from Gigi (who is basically her twin now), and it was a color she said she’s had since she was really young. “I started dyeing my hair when I was 14. I dyed it black and blue, I wore eyeliner—I was a punk kid,” she told Glamour in 2016. “I might want to go blond eventually!”

Looks like she was onto something.

She first revealed her sharply angled bob at London Fashion Week while walking in Burberry’s spring 2020 show. The cut is blunt and hits just at the chin, which according to Hadid’s Instagram, was “dreamt up by Riccy” (meaning, Burberry chief creative officer Riccardo Tisci) and chopped by the show’s lead hairstylist Sandy Hullett. For the show, Hullett kept the style simple with a straight-down-the-middle part and pin-straight blowout.

The Perfect Dupe for Taylor Swift's Red Lipstick


Taylor Swift loves nothing more than to keep us guessing. While she’s notorious for dropping hints about each of her relationships in her lyrics and videos, it’s rare that she’ll disclose exactly who a song is about—and the same goes for her beauty routine.

Despite often referencing her red lipstick, she’s been similarly tight-lipped about the specific shades she relies on. She’s shared a few of her favorites in the past—most notably Nars’ Dragon Girl and MAC’s Ruby Woo—but there’s a new red out that’s a deadringer for the rubies she’s famously known for. And it’s got to do with Zendaya.

If you remember, before she was rocking glitter tears in Euphoria, Zendaya made a cameo in Swift’s “Bad Blood” video as “Cut-Throat” back in 2014. Now Z is the face of the new Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge Ruby Cream Lipsticks, and the gem-inspired collection features a nod to the song. The lipstick in question? A bright red aptly named Bad Blood Ruby.

As the name of the collection implies, the lipsticks are all inspired by rubies. Each bullet is shaped like a gorgeous gem, with varying different facets. In addition to Bad Blood Ruby, there’s also the Black Prince Ruby (named after a famous ruby given to The Black Prince of England in 1367), Pigeon Blood Ruby (a deep crimson ruby that gets its—rather odd—name from the most valuable type of ruby), and RubieZ, named for Zendaya, replacing the letter “S” with her lucky letter “Z”.

While the song reference is what drew me to the lipstick in the first place, Bad Blood Ruby also happens to be the perfect red lipstick. The shade is right in the middle of the spectrum—not too blue, not too pink, with no hints of orange (my enemy in a lipstick), and wakes up my face in one swipe. It glides right on, and doesn’t dry my lips out over the day, which is thanks to rose flower extract, along with the brand’s patented hydrating complex. It has some shine to it, but surprisingly stayed put for hours, even through a greasy lunch.
