Queen Elizabeth and Kate Middleton Twinned in Purple at Church


Kate Middleton has been getting a lot of time in with Queen Elizabeth lately. They’ve been spending the holiday at the royal matriarch’s home in Sandringham, and on Sunday, the family kicked off the new year by attending service at St. Mary Magdalena church on the estate. Middleton’s parents Carole and Michael also joined for the outing, but what most royal fans noticed about the group was that both Middleton and the Queen matched in elegant and put-together in coordinating purple outfits. (The Duchess of Cambridge has been known to twin with other royals, including her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.)

Although they weren’t photographed together, a few images captured Middleton strolling into the service with Prince William. For the occasion, she wore a high-collared wool coat dress in dark purple featuring an orange print. She paired the coat with dark brown Stuart Weitzman knee-high boots and a bright violet fedora with brown accents. Queen Elizabeth made her way to the church in a separate car, where photographers captured her in a regal purple hat with a matching purple suit that she accessorized with a sparkling brooch. Clearly, both Kate and Queen Elizabeth were inspired by the same color when they got ready in the morning.

The royal children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—didn’t attend the service, but they’re also at Sandringham with their mom and dad. (Middleton and Prince William reportedly had a couple of surprises in store for them at Christmas and Prince George even had some cute baking time with his grandparents.) Apparently, the low-key family time has meant a lot to Kate: A source recently told Us Weekly that she’s really hoping for more of it in 2020 and, in particular, wants her kids to spend time with their cousin Archie. That might be a little hard since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are on the other side of the pond currently on vacation, but Kate still seems to be enjoying her time bonding with other members of the family; In addition to matching with the Queen, she had an adorable twinning moment with Charlotte on Christmas Day.

Kate Middleton Reportedly Wants Her Kids to Spend More Time With Baby Archie


Kate Middleton had a pretty relaxed holiday with her kids and Prince William at Queen Elizabeth II’s Sandringham estate this year, and it seems she wants to keep that cozy family vibe going in 2020. According to sources, she’s hoping she gets to see more of the Sussexes and is really crossing her fingers that her kids get to spend quality time with Baby Archie in particular.

A source told Us Weekly that Middleton is “hoping that in the new year, the cousins will spend more time together” and noted that her kids—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—”adore” Baby Archie. The source notes that “like most children, they’re easily distracted and resilient,” so they might not be too upset that they didn’t see the seven-month-old baby at Christmas, since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry decided to take their firstborn to Canada to unplug for a few weeks.

But if the source is right, Middleton could be pushing for a kid-filled reunion in the coming months. Prince Louis seems especially fond of the baby: A few cute photos taken at the King Power Royal Charity Polo Match show him wearing sunglasses and looking up happily at his tiny cousin.

It’s been a bit of a rare sight to see all of the family gathered in one place lately. On rumors that Prince Harry and Prince William are feuding, Harry said, “Inevitably, stuff happens. But we’re brothers; we’ll always be brothers.”

The Sussex couple then decided to take a bit of a break from public life to reset and hang out as a family. They rented a house with Markle’s mother Doria Ragland for Christmas on Vancouver Island and have been keeping things pretty low-key. Still, they’re due back in the U.K. soon, which hopefully for Kate Middleton means some adorable family time.

Kate Middleton Releases Candid New Photo of William, George, Charlotte, and Louis for Christmas


On Christmas Eve, Kensington Palace unveiled a candid new holiday photo of Prince William and his children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Kate Middleton is not featured in the picture, as she was the one who captured the sweet moment.

The black-and-white image, which was taken at the family’s Norfolk home earlier this year, sees the Duke of Cambridge crouching down to give his youngest son a kiss on the cheek while Princess Charlotte stands with her hands on little Louis’ shoulders. Prince George is photographed sitting in a nearby wicker chair, smiling at his mother behind the camera.

This is not the first time the duchess has shared her own pictures with the world. The palace often publishes photos taken by Middleton to mark important milestones in her family’s life, including birthdays and first days of school.

“Merry Christmas! This photograph of The Duke of Cambridge, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis was taken by The Duchess of Cambridge in Norfolk earlier this year,” Kensington Palace captioned the shot. We wish all our followers a very happy and relaxing Christmas Day.”

The release of the new family portrait comes after a family photo of the Cambridges was leaked on Twitter last week. The photo showed the family-of-five posing on a vintage motorbike and sidecar. Though it wasn’t an official portrait, the photo was spotted on Queen Elizabeth’s desk when she delivered her annual Christmas address on Monday, December 24.

Kate and William’s black-and-white family photo seems to mirror Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s candid and intimate Christmas card that was released earlier this week. In the snap, shared via Twitter on by the royal charity Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, the newlywed couple sits in front of a Christmas tree while seven-month-old Archie poses front and center.

This year, Duke of Duchess of Sussex are spending the holiday in Canada while the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will spend Christmas at the royal estate in Sandringham with the queen.

Here's What Kate Middleton and Prince William Are Reportedly Getting Their Kids For Christmas


What does the most wonderful time of the year look like when you’re a royal? Pretty laid-back—at least, that’s how sources say Kate Middleton and Prince William are planning to celebrate the holidays with their kids. According to insiders who spoke to Us Weekly, the Cambridge parents are focused on making Christmas all about “family and giving back,” but they’ve also got a few surprises for Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis up their very regal sleeves.

The source says that while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be out of town, Kate Middleton and Co. are heading up to Queen Elizabeth II’s Sandringham estate to welcome Santa as a family. “The way Kate sees it, it’s particularly important for all the royals to reunite and have fun this Christmas, especially after such a turbulent few months,” the source said.

“The kids can barely sleep, they’re so excited. Like every year, they’re going to leave a mince pie out for Santa,” the source continued, adding that the royal children “love dancing to Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas [Is You].'”

And their presents sound pretty great, too. Middleton and Prince William aren’t going anything too flashy, according to reports. Princess Charlotte reportedly asked for a pony, but her dad thinks she might be too young and is going with “a toy riding center” instead. “And George is really into tennis and has asked for a new racket,” the source said, adding they’ll also get play cooking sets “because they love making a mess in the kitchen!”

There’s one extra thing they’ll enjoy, as well: sugar. The sources say they’ve been sneaking treats from the Christmas tree, and that’s OK with their mom and dad: “Kate knows, but since it’s Christmas she lets them get away with having a few more sugary treats than usual.” Sounds like a super-cozy, fun time for everyone.

Kate Middleton Secretly Spent Two Days Working in a Major London Hospital's Maternity Ward


Kate Middleton spent two days working on a a top-secret project—and now, we finally know what she’s been up to.

According to People, the Duchess of Cambridge quietly got some work experience at a maternity ward in one of London’s major hospitals this week, where she reportedly shadowed midwives and other professionals to better educate herself about children’s early years of development.

Sources also told Hello! Magazine that the royal mom of three “divided her time on the unit, visiting the antenatal, postnatal and labour wards.”

The work was subtly mentioned by Kensington Palace as it was included in the Court Circular on November 28, which reveals the activities the royals have completed each week:

“The Duchess of Cambridge, Joint Patron, the Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, today completed two days with Kingston Hospital Maternity Unit in London.”

No other details have been released, but it comes as no surprise that the duchess wanted to lend a helping hand at the hospital’s maternity ward since early childhood care is something Middleton has devoted a lot of her royal work to over the years. In May, she organized a group to learn about child welfare so that she could be more aware of the challenges both parents and caregivers deal with every day. She also later thanked them for their work, support, and advice.

“Through our work, you have reaffirmed my belief of just how timely it is to focus on what happens in the early years of life, and how pivotal a stage of life this is for a child’s future,” Middleton said at the time.

“I hope my long-term commitment to working in the early years will help make a difference over a generational timescale,” she added. “Your thoughts and advice will continue to be hugely valuable as I shape my thinking for the years ahead.”

Then, in November, Middleton opened a new children’s hospice, as part of her Early Years project. She also spent time with the young patients who have life-threatening conditions.

Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton Reportedly Hate Being Pitted Against Each Other


Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, Kate Middleton, and Prince William aren’t actually feuding, despite all the crazy rumors. As sources have explained recently, they’re simply on “different paths.” Still, one insider tells People this week that all the rivalry gossip has afected both Middleton and Markle; they reportedly find being pitted against each “challenging.”

The source echoes a lot of what has been previously said of the two families simply wanting to carry out their separate engagements. “Meghan is very aware that Kate will be Queen; their roles are very clear,” the source says, adding “What’s challenging is when they are pitted against each other. That’s been challenging to both of them. Meghan has her life, Kate has hers.”

The two have been friendly toward one another and have hung out on multiple occasions. They might not be intimately close, but the source notes they simply came into the family from very different places. Markle, the source points out, was a “fully-formed person” who had been working for years when she married Prince Harry. Middleton started dating Prince William in college and had years to cultivate her role. That has meant their approach to public life is specific to their background.

“William and Kate toe the line, maybe because they have to, but Harry and Meghan are saying no—no to releasing the names of Archie’s godparents, no to saying where Meghan gave birth,” the source said. “They are trying to carve out a different sort of public life and reset the rules.”

Katie Nicholl, a royals expert, told Glamour a few months back that rumors of a feud between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle were exaggerated. “I do know that Meghan and Kate have come to an agreement to get along, to make an effort, to be amiable and warm toward each other in public,” she said.
