Priyanka Chopra Just Hinted That Meghan Markle Cried When She Found Her Wedding Dress

After months of playing coy, Priyanka Chopra finally confirmed last week that she will, indeed, be attending her friend Meghan Markle‘s fast-approaching wedding to Prince Harry.

And now that the floodgates have been opened, the Quantico actress is spilling all kinds of royal wedding tea. On Thursday, May 3 Chopra appeared on Watch What Happens Live, where host Andy Cohen asked her a few questions about Meghan, Harry, and their upcoming nuptials. When Chopra wasn’t able to answer a question, Cohen did his best to interpret her facial expressions and, in the process, uncovered a few secrets about the royal lovebirds.

The questions that Chopra was able to answer included whether she’d ever met Prince Harry (nope); if she, like Markle, likes “a ginge” (“Red hair is kinda my thing,” Chopra said); and if she’d bought a wedding present (not yet). Much more telling were the questions she couldn’t answer. When Cohen asked if Markle is “a bridezilla,” Chopra did an exaggerated shrug and raised her hands, which Cohen interpreted as a diplomatic no. Cohen then asked Chopra if the Suits actress had cried when she said yes to her wedding dress. In a pretty easy-to-understand nonverbal response, Chopra burst into a huge grin, covered her face in her hands, and broke into a silent fit of giggles. Like the rest of us, Cohen took that to mean a resounding yes, making Markle even more relatable.

What exactly that dress looks like, though, is still a mystery and will likely remain one to us and Prince Harry until the big day. So far Victoria Beckham and Vera Wang have denied rumors that they will be designing the dress, but that’s all the info we know.

At the end of April, Chopra, who met Markle at Elle‘s Women in Television event in 2016, finally admitted that she’ll be in London to celebrate her friend’s wedding come May 19, but added that she still has yet to choose an outfit. “I sort of may have an idea,” she told Us Weekly at the time. “But no, I haven’t picked one out yet.” This week Chopra went on to reveal that she and Markle have kept in touch since the soon-to-be duchess moved from Toronto to London. “She still texts a lot, which is great,” Chopra said on Rachael Ray’s talk show on Wednesday, adding, “I think she has a phone. She really is a [normal girl].”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Will Follow This Wedding Dress Tradition

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle aren’t the biggest sticklers when it comes to wedding traditions—she won’t have a maid of honor, for example—but there’s one old superstition they’ll be following on May 19.

On Friday, People reported that Kensington Palace confirmed Harry will see Meghan in her wedding dress for the first time with the rest of us: when she walks down the aisle.

“That tradition is very important to them,” a palace spokesperson said at a press briefing, according to People. The couple will also be spending the eve of their wedding apart, and they’ll be staying at Windsor Castle for their actual wedding night.

The dress superstition isn’t the only tradition the pair are incorporating into the royal wedding. On Friday, Prince Harry’s communications secretary published a press release confirming that Meghan Markle’s dad, Thomas Markle, will be walking her down the aisle. According to the press release, Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, will also be traveling with her by car to Windsor Castle.

The royal couple’s wedding bands will be traditional as well. Markle’s wedding ring will be made of the same Clogau-Welsh gold as Princess Diana and Kate Middleton’s wedding rings, and Prince Harry will be rocking a wedding band just like his dad. (Wedding bands for the men of the royal family are more optional—Prince William decided to pass on the wedding band, as did Prince Philip.)

This doesn’t mean the whole royal wedding will be just like nuptials’ past. In fact, on Friday, the palace confirmed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be deviating from one royal wedding trend started by Princess Diana and Prince Charles. On May 19, the couple will not, in fact, be doing a balcony kiss, though royal experts are speculating they will kiss for the cameras somewhere else.

Watch Meghan Markle Do Her Makeup in the Back of an Uber

If Meghan Markle ever finds herself hitting snooze one too many times and has to rush to get ready for a royal appearance with Prince Harry, she’ll clearly have no problem finishing up her makeup in the car on the way there. In a 2016 video that resurfaced this week, the royal-to-be shows off just how steady a hand she has while touching up her makeup in the backseat of a moving vehicle.

The clip was created to promote a partnership between Uber and legendary makeup artist Bobbi Brown at the time, according to an Uber rep.

In the video, Markle slides into the backseat of an SUV in Manhattan with her makeup already in basically flawless condition: She’s got bronzed, glowy skin, a strong brow, and matching peachy blush. She tells Brown, who’s there to provide touch-up guidance, that she’s heading to a meeting with movie producers while Suits is on hiatus. To help the actress-turned-royal make the best, most polished first impression possible, Brown walks her through using the Bobbi Brown Retouching Face Pencils and Wands to cover any pesky blemishes, brighten dark under-eye circles, and add a shimmery highlight to cheekbones and inner eyes. Of course, the pair pause for a moment amid the madness to meditate—because what’s a backseat beauty beat without a moment of zen?

Watch it below:

Although it’s unclear whether Markle will follow in her soon-to-be sister-in-law Kate Middleton’s footsteps and do her own makeup for her royal wedding, later this month, she’ll likely opt for her usual fresh-faced look. And who knows, maybe a messy bun

Priyanka Chopra Says Her Friend Meghan Markle Still Texts 'A Lot'

Priyanka Chopra and Meghan Markle have been good friends for about three years now. They’ve seen Hamilton together. They’ve posed for selfies. They’re the real deal. In fact, Chopra’s come to Markle’s defense several times when the duchess-to-be is labeled as just “Prince Harry’s girlfriend.” We know Chopra’s going to the royal wedding this month, but she’s remained tight-lipped about if she’s a bridesmaid or what she’s wearing.

What we do know, though, is that Chopra and Markle are still in regular communication. Contrary to popular belief, Markle didn’t have to give up all technology when she entered the royal family. (This isn’t prison, people!) She still has her cell phone, and she and Chopra apparently text all the time.

“She still texts a lot, which is great,” Chopra told Rachael Ray during an interview on the chef’s talk show Wednesday (May 2).

The Quantico actress laughed at Ray’s suggestion that the royal family confiscated Markle’s phone. “I think she has a phone. She really is a [normal girl],” Chopra said.

Last month, Chopra wrote a lovely tribute essay about Markle for Time magazine—the former Suits star was named one of the publication’s 100 most influential people—and she echoed similar sentiments during her chat with Ray. “She’s such a girl’s girl, and I’ve known her for three years now,” Chopra said. “I’m so happy for everything that’s happened to her, because I really feel like she’s one of those female icons that I feel could be a strong idol for girls around the world, because she really cares about the world. Really cares.”

Watch Chopra discuss all this for yourself, below:

FWIW, Meghan and Priyanka: I’m very down to start a group chat with you guys.

Serena Williams Offers Some Wedding Advice to Her Good Friend Meghan Markle

We’re just about three weeks away from the big royal wedding and the final details are falling into place. Kensington Palace has officially confirmed what we already assumed: Prince William will serve as best man to his little brother Prince Harry. The music for the ceremony is set. And at long last, we’re starting to hear more about who will actually be in attendance. Yesterday, Meghan Markle’s friend, actress Priyanka Chopra, confirmed that she will be there to witness the vows on May 19.

Now another of Markle’s good pals, Serena Williams, is speaking out about the royal nuptials. In an interview with Good Morning America‘s Robin Roberts, Williams played coy about whether or not she’ll be donning a fascinator to watch Markle walk down the aisle. “I don’t know,” she said. “I think it’s during one of the tournaments, so we’ll see if I can make it.” She then jokingly chastised Roberts, “Robin, don’t be asking me them questions!” (The French Open begins the Monday after the royal wedding.)

Williams did, however, have some advice for the bride-to-be: “I just think it’s so important to enjoy the moment. And eat the cake—I didn’t get to eat mine at the wedding. We were just having so much fun!” She continued, “If I could give her any advice it would just be to enjoy the preparation and enjoy the planning. It just goes so fast.”

Williams obviously knows a thing or two about planning a high-profile wedding. She married Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian in a lavish New Orleans ceremony last year with a French ball meets Beauty and the Beast theme. The guest list included people many would consider American royalty from Beyoncé to Kim Kardashian West. She even chose a royal-adjacent dress designer. Markle’s soon-to-be sister in law also wore Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen when she wed Prince William seven years ago.

Fingers crossed we see Serena across the pond in a few weeks.
