Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez Are Engaged


After two years of the best red carpet couple photos (and plenty of footage of Alex Rodriguez being just as mesmerized by Jennifer Lopez as the rest of us), the couple announced their engagement on Saturday night.

Rodriguez first shared the news on Instagram with a photo of the two holding hands against a tropical sunset, along with the massive emerald-cut ring on J.Lo’s finger. “She said yes ♥️,” he captioned the shot.

Lopez posted the same photo on her Instagram account, accompanied by eight black hearts as the caption.

While we don’t know too much about the engagement story yet (seriously, guys, we need details here), we do know that the two are currently on vacation together in the Bahamas, according to People. And just yesterday, Lopez was posting photos from the beach—shot by A.Rod because obviously)—in which the two were enjoying some downtime on the surf and sand.

Rodriguez also posted a teased his proposal on Instagram stories the day before the engagement with an enlightening quote. It read: “A soulmate isn’t someone who completes you. No, a soulmate is someone who inspires you to complete yourself. A soulmate is someone who loves you with so much conviction, and so much heart, that it is nearly impossible to doubt just how capable you are of becoming exactly who you have always wanted to be.”

Shortly after the couple posted their respective ring shots, the stans on Twitter came in hot with the reactions. To put it mildly, we’re all Hunter’s wife.

The couple has been dating since 2017. In fact, they just celebrated their two year anniversary on February 3, which J.Lo discussed on the Ellen show last month. The host even gifted J.Lo a massive clock with A-Rod’s face on it during her appearance. “It’s basically to remind him that time is ticking and he should hurry up and propose—or you should propose,” she said. Consider the memo received.

On Ellen, Lopez also talked about the couple’s much-headlined Valentine’s Day, where, in related news, another timepiece was gifted: The singer gave the former baseball star a blue and silver Audemars Piguet Royal Oak chronograph watch, which reportedly cost a whopping $24,000.

We’re just so happy he can finally be an official Instagram husband. You know the photos from that wedding are going to be unreal. Congrats to the happy couple!

Yes, Jennifer Lopez Still Lets Loose on the Dance Floor


Just hearing what all Jennifer Lopez has going on right now will exhaust you. The multi-hyphenate performer recently began judging season three of World of Dance, which airs Sundays on NBC. She’s in the midst of planning her summer tour, It’s My Party: The Live Celebration. Oh, and she’s about to celebrate her 50th birthday. Throughout her nearly 30-year career in entertainment, every gig has something in common: an emphasis—and passion—for dance.

“The tour is going to be a very special moment in time,” Lopez tells Glamour. “It’s a big birthday for me, and I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate it than with my fans dancing and singing every night for some 20-something shows.” (Tickets for the tour will go on sale some time in March.)

In this celebratory spirit, we asked Lopez 10 big questions about the world of dance (pun intended), and her answers shed more light on the pop icon we know and love. Check them out for yourself, below.

Is there a dance move you’ve seen on World of Dance that wowed you so much you want to learn it yourself?

There are so many [where I’m like], “I wish I could do that. I need to learn that.” I think just the style of hip-hop right now is what really fascinates me: How quick and fast they move and how isolated the movements are.

What are the best shoes to go dancing in?

For me, sneakers.

Do you prefer dancing on your own or with a partner?

I like dancing with someone, but on my own.

Do you have any sweat-proof makeup tips for people who want to go hard on the dance floor?

No, you just have to let the glisten happen. There’s no way to keep your makeup together—if you’re really dancing. There’s no way. Be sexy!

Is there a choreography breakdown in one of your videos you’re most proud of?

I kinda like all of them! It’s hard to pick just one. I’ve had a lot of dance breaks.

When was the last time you were able to let loose on a dance floor?

The Oscars.

What would you eat to fuel a long night of dancing?

I don’t really have a pre-game food. I don’t think you want to eat too much before you dance.

You’re getting ready before going out dancing. What music are you listening to?

We put on a lot of hip-hop when we’re getting ready.

What’s your favorite dance movie?

West Side Story.

Did you go to your high school prom and, if so, what did you wear? Yes, I went, and I wore a dress that I designed myself and had made by a local seamstress. It was a lace, halter dress with a fishtail at the bottom. It was hilarious.

After two years of dating, Jennifer Lopez and former baseball player Alex Rodriguez are still going strong.

The pair, who just celebrated their second anniversary on February 3, haven’t completely ruled out marriage, but they aren’t forcing an engagement on themselves either. They seem totally happy going at their own pace, despite pressure from their fans.

But it didn’t stop talk show host Ellen DeGeneres from giving J.Lo her two cents on the matter recently when the singer popped by her show. DeGeneres let her thoughts on their relationship known with a very Ellen, very over-the-top gesture: a massive clock with A-Rod’s face on it. “It’s basically to remind him that time is ticking and he should hurry up and propose—or you should propose,” she said.

On to Valentine’s Day, where in related news, another timepiece was gifted—this time from Lopez to A-Rod. And we’re just guesstimating here, but we have a feeling it was a little more expensive than DeGeneres’ gift. She gave her boyfriend a blue and silver Audemars Piguet Royal Oak chronograph watch. According to Page Six, the new arm candy is worth a whopping $24,000.

Alex Rodriguez Loves Jennifer Lopez So Much, He Works Out to Her Music


Alex Rodriguez proved himself the ultimate Instagram boyfriend in 2018, taking photos of Jennifer Lopez seemingly every chance he got. Now, he’s bringing that energy into 2019, first by working out to Lopez’s music.

The baseball vet posted a video to Instagram on Wednesday (January 2) of himself and Lopez sweating it out at their local gym. Just watching this clip will elevate your heartbeat, so it’s a good thing Lopez’s song “Limitless” is playing in the background. It’ll keep you motivated to the very end—just like (I’m assuming) it did for Lopez and Rodriguez’s actual workout.

“The grind never stops,” Rodriguez captioned the video. “What are you going to make of 2019?” I’m not sure what I’ll make of 2019 yet, but I know I will do it set to Jennifer Lopez’s severely under-appreciated discography.

So what other J.Lo-inspired workouts will A-Rod do this year? Burpees set to “Love Don’t Cost a Thing?” Weight training while blasting “Waiting for Tonight” (or “Weighting for Tonight”)? A half marathon listening to nothing but “Dance Again” on a loop? The possibilities are, well, limitless.

“Jennifer has given so much to me and my kids over the last two years,” Rodriguez told People magazine in December about his relationship with Lopez. “Her best quality is undoubtedly her generosity. I see it every day and my kids see it as well.”

Lopez returned the favor, telling People about Rodriguez, “Everything feels healthy and different. We bring something to each other’s lives that is profound, good and healthy.”

Jennifer Lopez Is Launching a Skin Care Line


Honestly, there is no beauty or wellness secret that Jennifer Lopez could share that I wouldn’t immediately digest and try to find a way to incorporate into my daily life. The woman is 49 years-old and has, to my mind, never looked better.

But her skin, we must talk about her skin. The woman has become so synonymous with the word “glow” that it was even the name of her first fragrance. And then there was her makeup artist Scott Barnes’ lotion, Body Bling, that was meant to give us regular humans that J.Lo sparkle and shimmer. And the actress/singer/dancer/mogul also launched a capsule collection of cosmetics with Inglot. Body shimmer was naturally included.

That said, we’ve never truly known Jenny from the Block’s full-on skin care regimen, a.k.a. the true source of said glow. However, it seems like that’s about to change. Lopez just revealed in an interview that she’s developing a skin care line. (Cue the freakout!) “I will be coming out with a skin care line. I’ve been working on it for a long time because I don’t want to put [just] anything out,” she said during an event at The Wing promoting her new film Second Act when asked about her skin care routine. “I get that question a lot, especially as I get older,” she said. “I want it to be something that encompasses all the things I’ve learned and all the secrets I have. And it doesn’t have anything to do with needles.”

And because she is a perfectionist, Lopez promises it will be the real deal and should arrive sometime late in 2019. “It’s going to be something that works,” she said. “That’s what you can count on when my name is on something.”

We don’t yet know what the product range will include, its name, or how much it will cost—but I’m already prepared to buy every single item.

'A Star Is Born' Almost Starred Jennifer Lopez and Will Smith


A Star Is Born has been met with nonstop acclaim ever since its debut, which isn’t so surprising given that Lady Gaga is front and center of the project. Not only did she give the performance of a lifetime as pop singer Ally, but she basically caused a rupture in the space-time continuum with her showstopping red-carpet outfits during the press tour.

It’s hard to imagine anyone else in the role, but that could have been the case: In a recent interview, Jennifer Lopez shared that she had been in early talks to develop a Star Is Born script with Will Smith.

Speaking to Extra, Lopez addressed rumors that she and Smith had been attached to the film before Bradley Cooper came in to direct and star in the remake. “Oh yeah, Will and I talked about it and talked about developing the script,” the singer-actress-producer-icon said. “It just never took off. Projects are like that.”

Lopez and Smith reportedly dropped out of talks around 2013. At some point, Clint Eastwood was also looking into the project and had tapped Beyoncé and Leonardo DiCaprio about lead roles. That didn’t work out either, of course. Eventually Cooper was brought on, and he turned to Lady Gaga in a room full of 100 people, and…well, you know the rest.

Cooper and Gaga’s version of the film is the third remake of the 1937 original; subsequent versions have starred Judy Garland and, later, Barbra Streisand. Gaga was nominated for a Grammy and a Golden Globe earlier this month, and she’s considered a top contender for an Oscar this year.

Lopez says that even though the film didn’t work out on her end, she’s happy with how it’s all turned out.

“I’m really proud of Bradley, one for directing his first film…we’re friends, and watching Gaga kind of do her thing in the movie, it’s just great,” she said. “It’s perfect, just like this movie, everything happens in its own divine timing.”

Still, we can’t but wonder what the J.Lo version of Ally would have been like. Would there have been dance routines? Green Versace dresses? I guess we’ll never know.
