Kristen Bell Says She and Dax Shepard Had the Most Intense Fight Recently

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are well known as one of the most relatable couples in Hollywood. They often share hilarious parenting moments with their two daughters, like this video of Bell listening to her husband talk about the middle finger. Or the time the kids walked in on them having sex.

But anyone who’s ever been in a long-term relationship, let alone a marriage, knows that it’s not all sunshine and roses. Bell recently opened up about one of the couple’s fights and why they’re so up-front about their relationship—and, honestly, it makes them even more endearing, if you can imagine that.

“Something happened with Dax and I early on where we decided we were never going to not be asked about our relationship,” Bell told fellow actor Justin Long on his podcast, according to People. “So if we were going to talk about it, let’s make sure we show the good, the bad, and the ugly and how we handle it. Let’s not make it saccharine, and we really try hard to not make it saccharine, and we talk about the fact that we do fight, we do go to therapy, we dislike each other a lot sometimes.”

The fight in question began simply enough, over stuff that needed to get done around the house. “It was about the things around the house that I felt I needed help with. We have a relationship where you are supposed to be able to say, ‘I need your help with this,’” she said. “For those of you listening, I’m telling this from my perspective. He’s not here; he can’t defend himself.

“I left a note and I was like, ‘Hey dad! Would you mind taking the two towels in the dryer and folding them’ and then, like, one other thing. I thought, That’s 10 minutes of work, I can say that,” she continued. “At that point the house [work] was getting to be a lot for me. The keeping up with the mom stuff, the shoes being outgrown, all of that. So I left this note and I came home on Sunday—everything was fine. Monday night we’re laying in bed and…he goes, ‘When you leave me notes, yeah, I feel really controlled,’ and he launched into how he felt about it.”

The Good Place actor says she took a beat. “And I said, ‘Okay, I totally hear you. It will never happen again. If I need something to be done around the house, what is a way I can do it that you’d be okay with hearing?’” But the calm emotions did not prevail.

Meghan Markle's Security Is So Intense It Reportedly Annoyed Kendall Jenner

Everyone wants to meet Meghan Markle. You want to meet her. I want to meet her. My sister—who barely pays attention to pop-culture and may not even recognize her—wants to meet her. So I’m not exactly surprised Kendall Jenner and Rita Ora were reportedly keen on having an “audience” (a.k.a meeting) with Markle when they were all in the same building last Monday (December 10) at the Fashion Awards in London. No one was is immune to the Duchess of Sussex’s charm—not even a Kardashian-Jenner, apparently.

I can totally picture how a meeting with Kendall Jenner and Meghan Markle would go, by the way. Jenner would look tall and gorgeous and say something like, “My sisters and I are all obsessed with you.” Markle would then smile and giggle, while touching her baby bump, and say, “Thank you! Buy this cookbook!” (Dialogue courtesy of my imagination.)

Unfortunately, a meeting like this—or any meeting, for that matter—didn’t happen. According to TMZ, security around Markle was so tight at the Fashion Awards that no one could get close enough to say hello. The outlet reports Royalty Protection officers employed something called “Royal Movement,” meaning that whenever Markle was walking, all stairs and hallways in the venue had to be empty. Imagine being so iconic that guards clear out a stairway just because you want to walk to the vending machine and grab a Fanta—or, in Markle’s case, probably mineral water or something equally as fancy.

Jenner, Ora, and Victoria and David Beckham were among the stars reportedly “up in arms” about Markle’s security. Who knows if that’s true, but I’d 100 percent understand if they were bummed about not scoring a chat with Markle. I mean, imagine if Ora met Markle, slipped her a copy of her new album Phoenix, and she loved it? Hello, chart domination! What a missed opportunity.

In all sincerity, though, Markle should stream Phoenix. It’s full of bops. Better luck next time, guys.

The Cast of 'This Is Us' Reveal What Happens Next After the Pearson Family's Intense Therapy Session

This Is Us rang in 2018 with quite the emotional episode—but would you expect anything less? (Read our recap here for a full breakdown.) For the actors, it was just as intense IRL. “I remember thinking, ‘Wow, these are really authentic moments,'” Justin Hartley tells us. “They’re talking about really hard things to people they love. They don’t want to hurt each other, but it’s going to hurt.”

One moment in particular—a 12-minute scene of Kevin’s family therapy session without a break in the action—is rarely done on television. “You can’t pick up that momentum [if you stop at any point when filming], so we just did take after take all the way through,” Hartley explains. “I don’t think anybody dropped a line.”

The scene—which prompted a devastated Rebecca to admit that Randall was an easier child to love than closed-off Kevin—also revealed that Kate’s addiction to food runs deeper than anyone was truly aware. “We all have struggles in our lives, and I think being honest with the people we love is the only way to face those issues,” Chris Sullivan says. “Being transparent and honest [with yourself and others is] really [the only way to] overcome something like that.”

Adds Hartley, “It’s a life-long struggle. It’s one moment at a time. It’s the same with Kevin. He knows the man he wants to be, but he just puts a lot of pressure on himself when he doesn’t need to.”

PHOTO: NBC

The episode ended on an uplifting note for the big three, but the hard work is just beginning. While it remains to be seen if Kevin has a future with ex-wife Sophie, Hartley played coy but noted that “you’ll be seeing her again.” Still, Sophie isn’t the only woman in Kevin’s life that he’ll need to work on repairing a relationship with. His sister-in-law Beth isn’t quite ready to forgive him after he unknowingly drove under the influence with her daughter in the backseat of his car. “There is going to be a tension there until [they really sit down to talk things out], Susan Kelechi Watson tells us. “It’s not like she hasn’t had tension with him before, but this was definitely a lot more serious. She’s definitely not as willing as Randall is [to take the stance that], ‘Oh, he’s getting help.’ She still feels like it’s all about Kevin in a way. There is going to have to be some kind of a stronger resolution for them.”

With only seven episodes remaining in season two, it remains to be seen if Beth and Kevin will have that opportunity, but one thing we do know is that the details about Jack’s death are closer to being revealed. “All I can say is be prepared,” Milo Ventimiglia says cryptically. “And yet, I know there is no real preparation for something like that. At the same time, we all know it’s coming. Just remember, it doesn’t mean the character is leaving or I’m leaving. It’s just one chapter in Jack’s book, and there’s a lot more to learn about the man.”

Speaking of Jack, Ventimiglia says that as vulnerable as we’ve seen the character this season, he actually has a tough time pulling back that emotion. “Jack is not one to cry, and I myself am more emotional than Jack. The hardest moments for me are where I personally have to hold my emotion in. When Jack opens up about his drinking problem [to Kate]…I’m welling up thinking about the experience, but thank God I have partners like [teen Kate] Hannah Zeile, [10-year-old Kate] Mackenzie Hancsicsak, and all the kids both ages. And Mandy, Mandy, Mandy…she’s a God send.”

I Went to an Orgasmic Meditation 'Turn-On' and Things Got Intense

Last year, at a workshop titled “Introduction to OM,” I learned the practice of orgasmic meditation: Someone strokes the upper left quadrant of your clitoris for 13 minutes and then presses on your vulva to “ground” you for two minutes—all with no goal other than to be aware of your sensations in the present moment.

OM has an extremely loyal following of people who believe it sharpens their intuitions, improves their relationships, helps them overcome sexual shame, and more. In fact, its devotees are so passionate it’s sometimes accused of being cult-like. Some people actually live in “OM houses” where they OM regularly and follow the practice’s principles, like mindfulness and honoring your desire, in their everyday lives.

To be clear, I never got into OM to that extent, but I can sort of see why people do. At the first workshop I attended, we discussed everything from our sexual fantasies to our biggest fears without reservation. And after trying the practice itself, I didn’t by any means have the “15-minute orgasm” some say they get from OMing, but I did feel relaxed, energized, and immediately close to the stranger I was OMing with. The openness of my fellow attendees was really refreshing, in a way that made me feel like I could be uncharacteristically honest with a group of people I had never met before. It might sound weird, but every time I’ve dipped a toe in the OM pool it’s been a really freeing experience.

So when I found myself back in San Francisco (home of the biggest OM community, though they exist around the world) over a year later, I decided to see what other events were on offer. I was excited to see a listing for something called a “Turn-On”—a small gathering of OMers for communication games aimed at mimicking the effects of an OM, but fully-clothed. Since my favorite parts of OM were the emotional aspects instead of the physical, this sounded perfect for me.

I signed up for the event on Meetup, along with nine other “turned-on people,” and almost immediately, an organizer messaged me to ask if I’d been “officially OM-trained.” This is another reason OM is often criticized: They’re very proactive about selling their training, and it’s not cheap. The one-day Intro to OM workshop is $199, the weekend-long “healing course” is $499, and the six-weekend “OM coach” training program costs a whopping $12,000 when paid in full, or $14,000 when paid in multiple deposits. Signing up for the Intro to OM workshop last year required me to give the practice’s organization, OneTaste, my contact info, and I’ve gotten several voicemails and emails promoting their other classes since.

Ignoring the organizer’s Meetup message, I arrived at the OneTaste headquarters at 7:30 on a Wednesday and was greeted by several very enthusiastic facilitators and OMers. We chatted about our motivations for being there—the participants ranged from a newbie looking to spice up his sex life to two OM devotees who traveled from Europe for the coming weekend’s “power retreat”—and then the facilitators explained how a turn-on works.

Each of the night’s activities was modeled after part of an OM, they said: Easing into the practice, stroking, and grounding. For the first one, we went around and completed sentences like, “In this moment, I am feeling…,” and, “One taboo desire I have is…,” with the first word that came to our heads. It seemed like people were comfortable answering really honestly. I learned that the woman next to me wanted sex all the time, while a man to my right had trouble figuring out what he really wants in life.

Next, we took turns being in the “hot seat,” which is when things got intense. Each of us spent a few minutes in a chair, answering questions from the rest of the group. We were told to “stroke the place with the most sensation”—that is, ask people about topics they seemed to have a lot of feelings about. One woman explained her motivation for seeing a dominatrix. One man talked about his struggles to stay loyal to his girlfriend. When it was my turn, someone asked me what turned me on, and things escalated real fast.

“Porn,” I answered honestly.

“What kind of porn?” someone else said.

“Most recently, I guess, women masturbating,” I said through nervous giggles after a pause.

“What turns you on about that?” asked the next questioner.

I thought about it. “The femininity, I guess.”

“Is that something you don’t feel like you get to be?” asked an organizer.

“Yeah, actually.”

“Say more.”

“I feel like I have to be masculine to be good enough.”

Whoa. How did they do that? Within the span of two minutes, these people had psychoanalyzed my porn habits and actually taught me something about myself.

For the final activity, we went around and shared a feeling we had about someone else at the turn-on. One woman told me she felt “love” for me during my porn revelation and could relate to it herself.

Once that was over, we all stood around and talked, and I once again experienced that openness that keeps me coming back to the OM community. I felt comfortable looking into people’s eyes for longer than I usually do. One man and I had an extremely meta conversation about why talking to each other made us anxious. I hugged people goodbye afterward, feeling inexplicably close to them.

Afterward, as expected, a facilitator came up to me and told me about some upcoming classes and retreats that could help me get in touch with my “feminine,” connecting these events to what I’d talked about on the hot seat. I could see how people get sucked in.

But I didn’t. After all, you don’t have to pay hundreds of dollars for a class to get the feeling I was feeling. All it takes is one of those rare environments where people have permission to be authentic. If anything, I left thinking about how I could make my favorite parts of the OM space more frequent in my everyday life.

This 'Riverdale' Trailer Teases an Intense Shower Scene Between Archie and Veronica

PHOTO: ©CW Network/Courtesy Everett Collection

We’re less than a month away before The CW’s hit show Riverdale returns for season two. The wait has been long, to say the least—season one ended in May—but fans have been doing a good job keeping themselves occupied with fan theories, cast news, and watching teasers on repeat. The first trailer, which dropped in July, alluded to a very steamy shower scene between Veronica and…someone. That someone was probably her boyfriend, Archie Andrews, but with this show anything can happen. Need we remind you of what happened to Clifford Blossom in season one? All we knew from that minute-long teaser was that Veronica wasn’t alone in the shower.

But now we know, definitively, who her partner is. Are you ready for this (very obvious) reveal? It’s Archie a.k.a Justin Gingerlake a.k.a Mr. Has a New Zealand Accent IRL! Yes, this hot couple apparently amps up their hotness even more with a naked romp in someone’s shower. I mean, hopefully it’s one of theirs; it’d be very strange, but funny, if they hopped into some random person’s house and decided to hook up in their shower.

If this trailer is any indication, Veronica and Archie’s relationship is stronger than ever. However, the same can’t be said for Betty and Jughead. Both the cast members and Riverdale‘s creator, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, have hinted that all is not well between the two characters, played by Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart (who may or may not be dating off-screen, too). Jughead’s move to the Southside of town—along with his relationship to the Southside Serpents—will reportedly put a strain on their puppy love. What this means for Jughead’s signature beanie is still undetermined.

Riverdale returns to The CW on October 11.
