Is Anyone Else Buying Kim, Khloé, and Kourtney's Fights This Season on *KUWTK*?

Keeping Up With the Kardashians (a.k.a, KUWTK, a.k.a the pinnacle of culture) is really going out of its way this season to make it look like Kim, Khloé, and Kourtney aren’t getting along. Things kicked off in early August when the show depicted Kourtney and Kim having a colossal argument over their family’s Christmas card photo shoot (very serious stuff), and it’s escalated since then.

In a new clip, Kim and Khloé are seen wrapping holiday presents and essentially bashing Kourtney behind her back. “She’s very selfish these days,” Kim says to Khloé, to which she responds, “She should move somewhere.” What Khloé means by that is unclear. Where exactly does she want Kourtney to go? New York? Miami? That resort where she chastised Kim for freaking out about losing a diamond earring?

Kourtney’s fighting back, too, telling Kendall Jenner in one episode that she doesn’t have the energy to argue with the others. And don’t forget the time a few weeks back when she called Kim an “evil human being.” Tensions are running high on KUWTK right now—arguably higher than when Kim swatted Khloé with her purse and told her not to be “f–cking” rude.

But here’s the problem: I’m just not buying it this season. KUWTK season 15 was filmed last year, so it’s entirely possible the tension was very real at the time. My eyebrows raised, though, when Kourtney, Kim, and Khloé had a Twitter fight about these issues last month timed to the series’ premiere. Khloé even used #KUWTK in several of her “rant” tweets, so how spur-of-the-moments were they?

Some fans accused Kris Jenner of staging the entire just to drum up ratings—so is that formula happening all season? Not to quote the Kardashian-Jenner matriarch herself, but this truly is a case for the FBI.

Of course, this is nothing new: reality TV shows are notorious for exaggerating drama for narrative purposes. Several cast members of The Hills even copped to this years after the series wrapped. But people are savvier to these tricks now, especially after UnREAL opened the curtain to what goes on behind-the-scenes on The Bachelor. Viewers understand there might be some producing and editing magic at play, but watching “reality” is no longer fun if the drama feels too staged.

And the Kardashians, of all people, don’t have to do this. Fans would pay thousands just to watch them read a phone book. Public interest in them is high and has been for years. KUWTK, in all of its iterations, has always felt real and authentic. These latest fights, however, don’t—and it’s ruining the series, at least for me.

Take it from a loyal viewer, Kris Jenner and company: I’ll tune in every Sunday just to watch Kourtney, Kim, and Khloé eat large salads and roll their eyes. That’s enough for me—and probably most fans—because it feels true. Maybe-staged Twitter fights are about as entertaining as the revamped KUWTK intro. (Yes, I miss the old one! And I know you do, too.)

Khloé Kardashian Just Issued a Preemptive 'PSA' About Her 'Pregnancy Lips'

Season 15 of Keeping Up With the Kardashians premieres on Sunday night (can you believe?!), and Khloé Kardashian—given that she’s fully aware of what the Internet can be like—is laying it down before the trolls can get a word in. She took to Instagram Stories ahead of the premiere to share a message that not only gives a hint about the months in her life that the upcoming season will document but tells haters, preemptively, to back off.

“PSA I was pregnant during this entire season of KUWTK,” she wrote. “Some women get “pregnancy lips”. I was one of them. So my lips look crazy and massive. Trust me I know and I HATED it! A lot of wild shit happens to your body and face while pregnant. It’s out of our control.”

She continued, making a very important point: “Most people don’t have to film during an entire pregnancy so Just watch the show and be kind about my growing body and lips. Pregnant women should be off limits.”

Kardashian is obviously too right about how pregnant women should be—but often aren’t—off limits when it comes to comments about their bodies and appearance (that being said, all women should be off limits when it comes to those kinds of unsolicited comments). Bodies change like crazy during pregnancy, from weight gain to stretch marks to fuller lips, and that’s completely natural and part of the whole deal.

She’s not the only one who’s had to quash trolls going on about “pregnancy lips,” either: Beyoncé’s publicist actually had to address rumors that Bey had gotten lip injections, explaining that her fuller lips were a side effect of pregnancy.

“Swelling is a normal part of pregnancy, and it happens in just about every part of your body, including your lips,” Sherry Ross, M.D., ob-gyn and women’s health expert at Providence Saint John’s Health Center, told Glamour last May.

Welp, there ya go: We heard it from Khloé, from a doctor, and from (the closest person to) Beyoncé herself.

Khloé Kardashian Defends Fellow Moms From Body-Shamers and the Pressure to "Bounce Back"

Though Khloé Kardashian jumped right back into her workout routine not long after giving birth to daughter True in April, she has nothing but respect for moms who choose to take it a little bit easier after giving birth. In a series of tweets on Tuesday, Kardashian defended moms from body shamers who might pressure them to “bounce back” and shed their baby weight as quickly as possible.

“Completely over mommy/body shamers! Women who choose 2take their time after baby, I’m so proud of you! Women who choose to work out after baby, I’m so proud of you! We all must do what’s best for US! Please b kind 2urself! A happy mommy makes for a happy baby! Love your process,” she wrote in one tweet, adding in another, “We are so hard on ourselves. Please be patient and gentle with your journey. Don’t compare yours to anyone else’s. You are right where you need to be! You are amazing!! You are worthy!!!”

(Of course all this came just days after Khloé and sis Kendall Jenner were all over Kim Kardashian’s social media praising their older sister, in a series of problematic statements, for her weight loss. So do with this what you will…)

In early May, not long after giving birth to True, Kardashian returned to her old habit of posting photos and videos from her workouts on social media, keeping her followers updated as she slowly worked her way back up to her previous, prebaby regimen (with her doctor’s permission and advice from her professional trainer). Though some trolls criticized her for getting back into the gym so soon after giving birth, Kardashian explained in a series of videos on her Instagram Story in late May why it was so important to her to start working out again. “What I’m annoyed about is that I’ve read a couple of times on Twitter that, you know, they feel that I’m focusing too much on my body, but the truth is, I worked out five or six days a week before I got pregnant, and that’s my sanctuary and something I love to do,” she said at the time.

Kardashian continued, “I want to start doing that now and getting into my rhythm, and in between feedings I want to find time to work out, because that’s going to be my new normal. Just because I have a baby doesn’t mean I have to stop doing the things that I love, and I love working out and getting my mind right.” She added, “I’ve been craving these workouts.”

This past weekend, the Good American founder gave her followers another update about her post-baby body. When a Twitter user asked if her body had “bounced back” after giving birth, Kardashian replied, “Hell no!! Lol i’m still working on it. And it will come in time… I hope LOL but sitting down I have a completely different stomach then I used to have LOL.” As she stated in her most recent tweet (and as pal Chrissy Teigen recently shared in a few posts of her own), that’s perfectly fine—she just grew a literal human with her body in nine months flat, after all.

Mommy-Shamers Just Came For Khloé Kardashian, but She Had the Last Word

Khloé Kardashian faced her online mommy-shamers head on this weekend. Entertainment Tonight reports that on Sunday night (July 29), the reality TV star went to a charity poker event meant to benefit the comprehensive cancer center City of Hope. For some reason, this riled up people on social media, who were fixated on the fact that Kardashian left her daughter at home with Tristan Thompson, a.k.a True’s father. But Kardashian didn’t let the shaming get very far: She quickly took to Twitter with a call-out post for her unsolicited critics.

“Mommy shamers r at a high right now,” she wrote. “I’m sick, at a charity event & I’m getting slack 4being here bc I have a baby? Her dad is watching her while I’m trying 2bring awareness 2an amazing organization. But either way, what’s wrong w a new mom letting daddy take over 4a few hours?”

This should go without saying, but Kardashian has every right to leave the house without True—for work, for fun, for whatever—especially if Thompson’s manning the parenting duties while she’s out. From what we know about Kardashian and Thompson’s situation, their parenting is 50/50. Thompson watching True while Kardashian’s at a charity event isn’t “babysitting” or “giving mom a day off.” He’s doing his job. To suggest otherwise is ridiculous and sexist.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Kardashian’s had to fend off haters on Twitter. In June, she opened up about supplementing breast-feeding with formula and the stigma associated with that. “Mommy shaming is real! But the truth is I’ve tried and tried and tried to breast-feed only and it wasn’t working for me,” she wrote. “I feel fortunate that I am able to still breast-feed but with the help of formula. Breast-feeding is something I really wanted to do. Just am not fully able.”

Khloé Kardashian Opens Up About Breastfeeding True Thompson

Though it is literally nobody’s business whether Khloé Kardashian is breastfeeding her daughter, True Thompson, the reality star put any speculation about her methods to rest by opening up on the realities of being a new mom.

“Because I don’t produce enough milk, I also have to give a bottle with every feeding,” Kardashian wrote in a recent post on her app about a particular bottle she loves. “With the formula I use, I have to give True the bottle within 30 minutes of making it, so it’s amazing to have this machine make it for me. It’s super easy to use—and fast, so when I’m exhausted and can’t even keep my eyes open in the middle of the night, it’s a total lifesaver.”

Predictable product promotion aside, what Khloé is revealing here is pretty important: Breastfed babies can also drink bottles of formula. Predominantly formula-fed babies can also snuggle up to a boob from time to time. Whether a parent chooses to breastfeed or not is, first of all, totally their choice, and second of all it is largely not the black-and-white decision it’s often made out to be. Babies gotta eat! Sometimes they need more milk than what’s coming out during breastfeeding sessions; sometimes their parents think breastfeeding sucks and they want to keep it to minimum. All’s fair in love and parenting.

Khloé’s post says that she’s not producing enough milk, and luckily formula is up to the task of filling in those gaps. But many moms are quick to put the blame on their own boobs whenever breastfeeding poses a problem: Baby seems fussy? My boobs must not work. Baby eats every hour? That can’t be real! (Sometimes it is real.) Research has found that this worry is one of the main reasons parents turn to formula in the first place.

“Concerns about milk supply and whether the baby is growing enough has consistently emerged among the most common reasons mothers introduce supplemental bottles of infant formula or stop breastfeeding altogether,” writes lactation consultant Diana Cassar-Uhl, M.P.H., on KellyMom, an online resource for lactation support. The best ways to tell whether you’re experiencing low production, like Khloé, is to track your infant’s weight gain and the number of wet diapers they have in a day.

Of course, formula is fair game whether your breasts “work” or not. Breastfeeding is complicated. It can be painful. It’s weirdly expensive to maintain—and sadly there’s still a stigma around doing it in public. There’s also a certain level of “mommy shaming” associated with women who may not have a perfect experience with it, which is why it’s extra-important when women in the public eye get real about their own imperfect experiences.

Khloé isn’t the only celeb to speak candidly about breastfeeding. When Chrissy Teigen finished nursing her daughter, Luna, she shared a characteristically real tidbit about what it was like for her. “View from above. I really should have nursed out of both boobs (when I nursed),” she wrote in a Snapchat photo in which one of her breasts looks larger than the other.

Despite the fact that breastfeeding hasn’t been the easiest process for Khloé and baby True, there is a part of motherhood that is really working for her: maintaining a routine. “The truth is, all babies do is eat, sleep, potty, REPEAT for weeks. I love a routine, so not going to lie, this works for me,” she wrote in a separate post on her app. Though, she admits, “I can’t wait for her to get a little older so we can explore all that her nursery has to offer!”

Here's Your Long-Awaited First Look at Khloé Kardashian's Baby True Thompson

Khloé Kardashian has been keeping a pretty low social media profile since giving birth to her child, True Thompson, last month. She gave us a tiny peek at the new baby in a Snapchat selfie a few days ago that just barely showed the baby’s arm. But today, we’re getting a full look at True with this super cute Instagram video that Khloé uploaded to celebrate the baby turning one month old.

True is the third girl born into the Kardashian-Jenner clan this year. Back in January, Kylie gave birth to her first daughter, Stormi, and Kim welcomed her daughter, Chicago. Khloé had provided a little update about how True was doing on her website and app a few days ago, saying, “Baby True is going to be a month old! So far, she’s so incredibly sweet and patient—really not fussy at all. I can tell she’s going to be super athletic and incredibly strong! She’s very calm, peaceful and loves to cuddle with her parents.”

Here’s your first look at her:

Kris also chimed in on Instagram last month to welcome True and to share a little history behind the baby’s name: “FUN FACT… my Grandfather’s name on my Dad’s side was True Otis Houghton….my Dad’s name was Robert True Houghton…so i am so excited Khloe named her daughter True,” she wrote.

True is Khloé’s first child and the second child of her boyfriend Tristan Thompson, a forward for the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers. Khloé has been spotted out and about with Thompson in Cleveland following TMZ reports that Thompson had cheated just before Khloé give birth. (Kim seemed to verify the rumors on The Ellen DeGeneres show, saying Khloé was doing “the best she can.”)

But the new parents have presented a united front, with Khloé sharing how excited they both are about True: “Our little girl, True Thompson, has completely stolen our hearts and we are overwhelmed with LOVE. Such a blessing to welcome this angel into the family! Mommy and Daddy loooooove you True!” she wrote on Instagram just after the baby was born.

Happy one-month birthday, True! Let’s hope Khloé keeps these adorable videos coming.
