Prince William and Kate Middleton Took Prince George and Princess Charlotte to a Soccer Match

On Saturday, the royal family partook in a tried-and-true fall Saturday outing: watching a soccer match. But all eyes were squarely on Prince George who unequivocally won the sporting event thanks to his, shall we say, more than enthusiastic celebrations.

The 6-year-old was spotted in the stands clapping, waving and cheering on Aston Villa (who also happens to be his dad’s favorite team) as they took on Norwich City. While Princess Charlotte watched quietly while seated next to Kate Middleton (Prince Louis did not seem to be in attendance) George was enthralled with every moment, turning to Prince William to share in his excitement.

The future king of England quickly began trending on Twitter for his over-the-top expressions — it’s what the rest of us look like watching Bachelor in Paradise.

Here’s George strategizing the team’s next moves with his dad:

‘This Is Us’ Season 4 Episode 2 Recap: Should We Be Concerned About Kate?

After a divisive season premiere, This Is Us got back to its roots tonight with an entire hour focused on the Pearsons past and present—and a return to the neighborhood pool.

In the early ’90s, we see Rebecca and Jack struggle with the idea that their preteen kids are growing up and branching out on their own. Back in present day, Beth and Randall are dealing with Deja wanting more independence and Tess opting for a whole new look. Meanwhile, Toby and Kate work with a specialist to help baby Jack—who is blind—feel comfortable and safe in his home while they secretly (and not so secretly) try to manage the stress of raising a child with special needs.

As for Kevin, he bonds with baby Jack; Kate urges him to take a movie role in Chicago because focusing on his sobriety and working will make him a better uncle to Jack. What Kate doesn’t know is that Kevin has been helping their uncle Nicky with bail money. She also doesn’t know that her husband is lying about what he’s doing when he leaves the apartment, saying he’s going to the grocery store when he’s really at the gym, but that’s a bigger story that could have long-lasting implications.

The episode left a lot of questions unanswered—this is This Is Us, after all—so we asked executive producer and co-showrunner Isaac Aptaker to fill us in on what’s ahead for the Pearson clan. Turns out, there’s some cause for concern.

NBC/Ron Batzdorff

Glamour: Jennifer Morrison wasn’t in this week’s episode. My theory is that Cassidy could be Nicky’s daughter, or she’ll eventually become the mother of Kevin’s son.

Isaac Aptaker: Let’s hope not both! [Laughs.] We will start getting those answers next week. We will revisit Cassidy and what that dynamic is. She’ll be in Nicky’s world in this next episode in some way.

On tonight’s episode, we see Tess get a major haircut. Eris Baker [who plays Tess] actually chopped her hair for the storyline….

She brought in photos of Zoë Kravitz as inspiration from when Zoë had short hair and nailed it. She sent us a lot of photos from Zoë’s Instagram page.

How will this new haircut shape Tess’s story for this upcoming season, in terms of her personal growth?

She’s been coming out to her immediate family in past episodes. Now she’s living in a brand-new city and starting at a brand-new school. She’s trying to figure out how she wants to be perceived, how she wants to portray herself to the world, and she’s decided that she feels most comfortable with this haircut. But then, at the end of the episode, as she’s getting ready for school and packing her book bag the night before, the reality sets in. She looks in the mirror and has a bit of self-doubt of whether it was too bold of a choice. She’s wondering if this is who she really wants to be on her first day of school. Eris is so great because it’s a complicated story.

Kate Middleton Met With the ‘Love Actually’ Director About a Secret Project

Director Richard Curtis is best known for his beloved 2003 movie Love Actually, as well as classics like Four Weddings and a Funeral and Bridget Jones’s Diary. We’re thinking maybe Kate Middleton really loves those movies too, because for some reason she was hanging out with Curtis this week and discussing a new secret project.

According to the Daily Mail, the two of them met on Wednesday, September 11, during an unannounced private visit. The only thing reports revealed is that “the Cambridges are contributing to a project Curtis is working on.” Per the Daily Mail, this project is about mental health.

If that’s true, it makes sense that Curtis would want to get the Cambridges in the mix. They’ve shown their dedication to mental wellness a few times now, and in 2016 they kicked off the Heads Together project to support discussions and openness around mental health. Curtis himself has been an advocate and has spoken about the subject a few times.

Interestingly, if the Daily Mail sources are accurate, only Middleton met with Curtis. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is that maybe Curtis is making a movie and planning to put her in it. But this could be part of a larger evolution Middleton has been undergoing. People magazine recently spoke to several sources who talked about how Middleton is slowly but surely getting ready to be queen and confidently carrying out more responsibilities.

“She is an adoring mother, and she is contributing publicly in the way we would want her to. You see it more and more. The young student has turned into our future Queen,” a source said. Maybe her meeting with Curtis is just the latest example of how she’s coming into her own. Either way, we can’t wait to hear more about the project.

Here's How Kate Middleton Is Preparing to Be Queen

According to a new cover story in People this week, Kate Middleton has taken a few steps to cement her place as future queen.

Royal insiders tell People that the Duchess of Cambridge has really come into her own since the birth of her three children. We know that she takes a hands-on approach with her kids and is even the family photographer from time to time. Sources say that the confidence she’s gained over the last few years is also reflected in her own charity work, which focuses on issues related to parenthood and child development. She’s reportedly even writing her own speeches these days and sitting in long meetings with U.K. organizations.

“The Duchess wouldn’t just join us, she would stay for the whole meeting. She has a deep curiosity to really understand the issues,” Kate Stanley, director of strategy at the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, tells People.

“She is now more open with what she wants to say, and funnily enough, she is more relaxed as well,” a family source also told People, while another source added, “She is finding her voice.”

Fans saw a glimpse of this in January, when Middleton spoke frankly about the struggles of motherhood. “It’s so hard,” the duchess said at an event. “You get a lot of support with the baby as a mother particularly in the early days, but after the age of one, it falls away. After that, there isn’t a huge amount. Lots of books to read. Everybody experiences the same struggle.”

Meanwhile, a third close royals source told People, “She is an adoring mother, and she is contributing publicly in the way we would want her to. You see it more and more. The young student has turned into our future Queen.”

Kate Middleton Debuts New Honey-Brown Hair During Back-to-School Photos

Thursday marked the first day of school for Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who were photographed looking adorable before heading to classes at Thomas’s Battersea in London. However, they’re not the only ones celebrating the start of something new: Their mom, Kate Middleton, debuted a new hair color while dropping them off at school, and the change comes just in time for fall.

We’re used to seeing the Duchess as a slightly darker brunette, but it seems that she’s decided to lighten things up a bit. While the color isn’t drastically blond, the highlights are a much brighter shade than we’ve seen from her before. Her cut, too, appears to have slightly less layers than before, making her famous Chelsea blowout look a little sleekier and less bouncy. For the photo opp, she also wore a floral button-down Michael Kors dress that she’d previously worn last year at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s rehearsal dinner.

Middleton’s glossy waves have been the subject of fascination for a while. She seems to have the uncanny ability to pull off pretty much any kind of style—she’s done Game Of Thrones-style braids, she’s done intricate updos, she’s tucked her updos under stunning hats, and, of course, she knows how to rock a tiara.

It always looks completely effortless, but we do know that she has a few standby tricks to keep her hair healthy. A now-deleted Instagram photo revealed that Middleton’s hairstylist typically packs 13 hair brushes, six combs, three hair curlers, and two hairdryers for her. We also learned from some pretty extreme sleuthing that Middleton always cuts her hair before big pregnancy announcements and typically combines shampoo and conditioner. (Her frequent stylist Richard Ward, reportedly has her use the Cleanse and Condition duo from his salon’s Chelsea Collection.) And when she’s pulling off one of those fancy royal updos, you can see that she uses a hairnet, of all things, to keep everything perfectly in place. We’ll have to keep an eye out to see what hacks she has to keep her lighter hair gleaming. Olaplex, maybe?

Kate Middleton Rewore Her Dress From the Sussex Wedding Rehearsal Dinner—And It’s on Major Sale

The first day of school typically means big excitement, some jitters, and an all-new outfit to mark the occasion. For students, that is. For parents, like Kate Middleton who dropped Prince George and Princess Charlotte for their first day this morning, she recycled a look that’s very familiar for any Sussex Wedding fans.

Dressed in a classic, button-down shirt dress with a pink floral pattern, Middleton held her daughter’s hand as they approached Thomas’s Battersea in London this morning.

The dress is a Michael Michael Kors piece that was first spotted on the Duchess of Cambridge in May of last year—when she attended Prince Harry and Meghan Markel’s rehearsal dinner. Since it’s from a past season, there aren’t many styles left in stock. The ones that are, though, are on major sale: You can buy Middleton’s exact same dress (in a slightly different colorway) for $78, down from the original $195.

It’s always an impressive move when a member of royalty recycles a part look. Not because they’re suddenly like nearly every other person on the planet who repeats clothing all the time, but because it suggests an honest endorsement for whatever they’re wearing, considering a world of options is always at their fingertips.
