Hailey Bieber Is Done With the Pressure of Having a 'Perfect Lifestyle'


Hailey Bieber is no stranger to fame—it practically runs through her veins. (She is a Baldwin, after all.) But the last year especially has been a whirlwind for the 22-year-old model. She’s landed huge partnerships with Adidas and bareMinerals, a Vogue cover, and one of pop culture’s most notorious bachelors all before the time most of us finish college.

And it’s clear in the way she talks she doesn’t take her time in spotlight lightly. As a bareMinerals ambassador, she’s using her platform to preach the gospel of clean beauty. (Something we’re guessing is only just the beginning for her, given that she recently filed a trademark for “Bieber Beauty.”) But she also recognizes the role she plays in the 19.2 million people following her. “I just wish we all embraced the truth behind social media more,” she says.

It’s something she feels so strongly about, we end up going 10 minutes over our allotted interview time to discuss. “Wow, we took a bit of a deep emotional dive there, didn’t we?” she tells me as we wrap our conversation. But here, hear it in her own words.

What’s your number one foundation rule?

Less is more. But I don’t even have to consider that when I use the Complexion Rescue Hydrating Foundation Stick because it’s so lightweight and easy to use. If you want to put more on you can, and it gives great coverage. I go between putting it on with my fingers when I need less and a brush when I need more.

What’s the best makeup tip you’ve ever gotten?

Learning exactly where to place highlighter—like the right spot on your nose, a little on your cupid’s bow, on your cheekbones but not too low. It’s all about watching how it hits the light. I’m a big highlighter fan. I also love tricks like using blush on your lips, lipstick on your cheeks, or lip gloss on your eyelids. It actually makes a big difference.

What’s one beauty rule that you think is bullshit?

Something that I know for a fact is bullshit is that using any makeup on your face is fine. Or that using anything you bought at the store is OK for your body or your skin. If it’s not a healthy product, it’s usually bad for you.

Fill in the blank. I love my skin when…

I love my skin when I’m tan, and when I’ve been in the sun. I just make sure I’m using sunscreen when I do.

You travel constantly. What city or country gives you the greatest beauty inspiration?

To be honest, there are a lot of different genres of that to me. Like when I’m shooting in Europe, or I’m on set in Paris, London, or Milan, or when I’m doing fashion shows, I get a lot of makeup inspiration that way. But with beauty in general, I feel the most inspired when I’m on a beach. I feel very beautiful in that environment.

You have 20 dollars and free roam of a drugstore. What do you buy?

Oh my gosh, I’m a nightmare in the drugstore. I’ll literally buy anything…tissues, Chapstick, Aquaphor. I love Aquaphor. It’s such a thing for me. And I’m always buying gum. I usually like Dentyne Ice. Oh, and scrunchies! I think that’s actually what keeps my hair healthier—using a scrunchie instead of an elastic because it doesn’t break your hair as much.

What’s your favorite way to take a moment for yourself?

I like to nap. Honestly, I understand little kids when I nap. I’m like, oh, I get it. This is really helpful and it feels good. I also like to take a moment and listen to some music and chill.

Justin Bieber Just Teased That Hailey Baldwin Might Be Pregnant


It’s April Fool’s Day and you’re undoubtedly stressed, so I’m gonna cut right to the chase: Justin Bieber might’ve just revealed Hailey Baldwin is pregnant. And you thought this day couldn’t get any more overwhelming….

Before you have a full-blown meltdown, let me just remind you that it is April 1, so Bieber’s announcement could very well be a joke. Which isn’t funny, by the way: More than 6 million women in the U.S. struggle with fertility, so staging a fake pregnancy stunt is a bit problematic.

That might be exactly what we have on our hands, though. So here’s what happened: On Monday afternoon Bieber posted a photo of a sonogram with no caption. Soon after, Baldwin commented, “Very funny…,” which implies this is all some kind of prank. (Also, the sonogram photo is a fake. We found the original.)

But here’s where things get confusing: Bieber then posted a second photo of Baldwin at the doctor’s office, hand on her stomach, with the caption, “If U thought it was April fools.” So what is the truth? Is Baldwin pregnant? Is Bieber just messing with us? Based on how casual these posts are, I’m thinking it’s the latter.

Regardless, fans on the Internet are (naturally) bewildered and confused. “APRIL FOOLS U GOT ME!! wait, unless ur serious and ur gonna be a dad,” one person wrote, while another commented, “Wow. So good. Huge congratulations to you both.” A third person posted, “Still not convinced tho,” and that about sums up my mood on this whole ordeal.

A Complete Timeline of Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber’s Relationship


Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin‘s relationship sure feels like it’s been a whirlwind—both in how quickly they went from “back together” to “engaged” to “married,” but also in the pace of the rumors about them constantly flying around. But the two have actually known each other for some time. “It’s kind of a surprise, but kind of not. Justin has been extremely happy these past few weeks,” a source told People after the couple got engaged. “He has known Hailey for a long time. This might seem sudden, but they know each other very well.”

Bieber proposed in July 2018 in the Bahamas and confirmed the news in an Instagram post, writing, “Listen plain and simple Hailey I am soooo in love with everything about you! So committed to spending my life getting to know every single part of you loving you patiently and kindLY. I promise to lead our family with honor and integrity letting Jesus through his Holy Spirit guide us in everything we do and every decision we make.” The couple married in a secret courthouse ceremony that September and now find themselves amid a new round of rumors about “trust issues” and a postponement of their wedding celebration with friends and family.

So how exactly did we get here? Below, a complete timeline of Baldwin and Bieber’s relationship.

2009: A preteen Baldwin met her future husband for the first time when her father, Steve Baldwin, introduced her to Bieber backstage at the Today show. The two kept it just as awkward as you’d expect from tweens:

2011: Once again Steven Baldwin brought Bieber and his daughter together—this time on the red carpet at the premiere of Bieber’s movie Never Say Never. The pair smiled (ever so slightly) for the cameras. That same year Bieber confirmed his budding relationship with Selena Gomez.

2014: By 2014 Bieber and Gomez were broken up. Baldwin, meanwhile, had struck up a close friendship with Kendall Jenner, who also happened to be friends with Bieber, and the three were spotted at the Hillsong Church in New York City that November.

A month later, though, Baldwin shut down any dating rumors, telling E! News, “I’ve known him since I was so young—since I was like 13—and we’ve just been good friends over the years. We have just stayed close and there’s nothing more to it than that.”

2015: On New Year’s Day Bieber posted an Instagram video featuring a cameo of Baldwin. But once again, Baldwin denied dating rumors. Baldwin told E! News, “He’s just going through a time in his life where he’s transitioning in a really positive way and he needs good people around him. And I’m trying to be a good friend and be there for him and support him.”

But wait, there’s more: In December of 2015 the pair rang in the New Year together yet again. This time in Anguilla.

2016: Finally, in January of 2016, Baldwin and Bieber reveal they’re an item when Bieber shared a snapshot of the two kissing on Instagram. However, both Baldwin and Bieber tell the press the relationship is a low-key one.

“We are not an exclusive couple,” Baldwin told E! News. “He’s about to go on tour. Relationships at this age are already complicated, but I don’t really like to talk about it because it’s between me and him.”

Bieber, meanwhile, told GQ that Baldwin is someone he “really loves” but he’s too busy for a relationship. “I already have a lot that I have to commit to. A lot of responsibilities,” he said. “I don’t want to feel like the girl I love is an added responsibility.”

Hailey Baldwin Responded to Rumors She and Justin Bieber Are Having "Trust Issues"


It was only a matter of time before this happened: Only months into Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber’s whirlwind marriage, reports are surfacing there’s trouble in paradise. But Baldwin is getting in front of the rumors before they spin out of control.

On Monday morning, March 18, she took to her Instagram Story to issue a helpful reminder: “Don’t believe what ya read on the Internet folks,” she wrote, adding an eyeroll emoji and a holographic “FAKE NEWS” GIF sticker to reiterate her point. Baldwin didn’t explicitly state which piece of “news” sparked her rebuttal, but it’s safe to assume Us Weekly‘s recent report claiming the couple have “trust issues” was on her radar. Apparently, the Biebers are facing no such difficulties.

In their recent joint cover interview for Vogue, though, Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin were refreshingly open about the issues they do have. “The thing is, marriage is very hard,” Baldwin said to the magazine. “That is the sentence you should lead with. It’s really effing hard.”

Bieber said he and Baldwin are still figuring out how to disagree in constructive ways. “We don’t want to lose each other,” he told Vogue. “We don’t want to say the wrong thing, and so we’ve been struggling with not expressing our emotions, which has been driving me absolutely crazy because I just need to express myself, and it’s been really difficult to get her to say what she feels.”

Baldwin also admitted to feeling lonely in her first weeks as a newlywed. Unfortunately, both she and Bieber have been inundated with messages from random people who don’t agree with their marriage. “I prayed to feel peace about the decision, and that’s where I landed,” she told Vogue. “I love him very much. I have loved him for a long time.”

Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin’s whirlwind romance was one of the most buzzed-about celebrity stories in 2018. The couple became engaged in July after just a few weeks of dating, and by September they officially tied the knot at a New York courthouse. (A formal ceremony is still TBD.) Bieber and Baldwin open up about their relationship in Vogue’s March cover story and reveal a new tidbit of information, as well: They waited until marriage to have sex.

According to Vogue, Bieber was more than a year into “a self-imposed tenure of celibacy” when he and Baldwin started dating. His reasoning? He had a “legitimate problem with sex” and decided to forgo it to strengthen his relationship with God.

“[God] doesn’t ask us not to have sex for him because he wants rules and stuff,” Bieber tells Vogue. “He’s like, ‘I’m trying to protect you from hurt and pain.’ I think sex can cause a lot of pain. Sometimes people have sex because they don’t feel good enough. Because they lack self-worth. Women do that, and guys do that. I wanted to rededicate myself to God in that way because I really felt it was better for the condition of my soul. And I believe that God blessed me with Hailey as a result. There are perks. You get rewarded for good behavior.”

A desire to have sex is partially what prompted Bieber and Baldwin to quickly marry at the courthouse last fall—but they had other reasons, too. “When I saw her last June, I just forgot how much I loved her and how much I missed her and how much of a positive impact she made on my life,” Bieber says. “I was like, ‘Holy cow, this is what I’ve been looking for.’”

This confession effectively debunks any speculation Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin married because she was pregnant. In fact, it’s clear from this interview they both thought carefully before saying “I do.” “I prayed to feel peace about the decision, and that’s where I landed,” Baldwin tells Vogue. “I love him very much. Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin's First Thanksgiving as a Married Couple Got Messy


Birthday celebrations always feel special, but for a lucky few out there, having a late-November birthday in the U.S. also means that, at one point or another, you could find yourself celebrating another turn around the sun on Thanksgiving Day. Add in the fact that it’s your golden birthday and you have yourself the makings of a pretty epic celebration. For Hailey Baldwin (or Hailey Bieber, as she’s now known on Instagram and the backs of denim jackets), her birthday was exactly that—especially when you factor in her cake surprise from the new hubby.

Hailey, who turned 22 on November 22, had a lot to be thankful for while celebrating the holiday. She and Justin were together for their first Thanksgiving as a married couple—and in front of both of their families, the singer surprised Hailey with cake. But rather than just set her cake down on the table, the Biebs took a different approach, giving his wife a, well, up-close-and-personal look at her dessert.

Lucky for us, Hailey and Justin’s families were there to document the entire messy ordeal, and the birthday girl’s adorable reaction to her husband’s cute trick. Later on, the singer brought out a second cake for Hailey—this time for eating—and the families sang “Happy Birthday” to her. Messy cake trick aside, Hailey’s birthday seemed altogether magical. And she seemed to think so, too,taking Instagram to thank everyone for the birthday love. “Thanks for all the birthday wishes,” she said in her Insta stories. “22 is already AMAZING!!!”
