Peter Weber and Madison Prewett Have Broken Up

Peter Weber and Madison Prewett have already broken up—yes, just three days after the Bachelor live finale, where they revealed they were seeing each other again.

“I want to start by acknowledging the incredible group of women that I had the privilege of getting to know this season,” Weber wrote in an Instagram post that he published on Friday, March 13 “Thank you for coming on this journey with me. I learned so many lessons from all of you that I will carry with me. Madi, thank you for your patience and unconditional love. You’re the epitome of a woman who carries herself with grace, stands by what she believes in, and loves whole heartedly. That love is something I feel so grateful to have felt and will take a piece of that with me always going forward.”

He continued, “Madi and I have mutually decided to not pursue our relationship any further. Believe me this was not easy for either of us to be ok with, but after a lot of honest conversations, we have agreed that this is what makes most sense for the two of us. The love and respect I have for Madi will continue to endure.”

Weber ended his post with, “Hannah Ann, you set an example for women everywhere a couple nights ago. You are such a strong, confident woman and you deserve all the love in the world. I accept full responsibility for my mistakes in our relationship and wish you only the best. This has been an emotional experience and I am so grateful for the outreach of support that I have received from friends, family, and Bachelor Nation in the last few days. Thank you to all of you! This is just a another chapter in my story. One I will never forget and one I will always cherish.”

Prewett also wrote about the split on her Instagram. “So incredibly thankful for this amazing journey I’ve had the honor of being a part of,” she said. “I have grown so much and am stronger than I was going in. I have learned the importance of acceptance, forgiveness, and grace. As Peter and I have decided to go our separate ways, I am confident that we will both move in the direction of our purpose and never forget that God has a plan in all things. I will always love and respect him. I am convinced our paths were meant to cross and we are both better because they did. @pilot_pete you are an amazing guy and I’m thankful for you. I will always be your biggest fan. And to the amazing women I met this season, I will love you for life. Thank you @abcnetwork for allowing me to embark on this journey.”

Peter Weber’s relationship with Madison Prewett got off on rocky footing. To recap what happened at the end of this year’s Bachelor season: Weber proposed to Hannah Ann Sluss—the only woman left standing in the competition—after Prewett left because she felt her lifestyle would clash with his. Shortly after, Weber told Sluss he still had lingering feelings for Prewett, which Sluss, understandably, didn’t take well. Then, we found out Prewett also felt something for Weber.

This all came to a head on the After the Final Rose ceremony. Sluss told Weber off. Prewett and Weber announced their relationship. Weber’s mom, Barb, sat in the audience, seething—clearly team Sluss and anti-Prewett. It was all very dramatic, combustible, and, let’s face it, not very sustainable.

Let’s pour one out for this unforgettable Bachelor season. I hope everyone involved is happy with this final decision and finds their bliss somewhere down the line.

How to Get Over a Broken Heart: 16 Tips from a Psychologist

Also, know that feelings of rejection and diminished self-worth could trigger unhealthy responses like over or undereating or substance abuse, which could lead to a depressive spiral, says Porter. “Exercise, nutrition, and proper sleep will raise the floor on how bad you feel,” he adds.

8. Don’t judge the length of your healing process.

“Don’t equate the time of healing with the time of your relationship,” says Hendrix. Even ‘almost relationships’ can cause enormous heartbreak, says Huerta.

“A lot of times people are like, Well, I was only with them for six months. Why am I devastated?” says Hendrix. “Because you fell for them in six months and you’ve gotten super attached and you started spending every day and night together for a while. Your six months is like somebody else’s two years. So whatever you feel, honor that.” In truth, how long it takes to get over an ex depends on a variety of factors, including the narrative you tell yourself.

9. Don’t internalize the breakup.

In the aftermath of a difficult split, avoid thinking, I’m not good enough, there’s something wrong with me, says Porter. Instead, situate the problem in the relationship (if not in your partner), he says.

10. Identify and eliminate unhealthy behaviors.

Try to understand any impulses you may be having, like texting your ex, checking their Instagram every hour, or replaying every damn detail of your last weekend together. These urges are part of the natural withdrawal process that happens after heartbreak, but don’t let yourself overindulge in obsessive behaviors (like analyzing every aspect of your relationship until 4 a.m.), says Hendrix. If you find yourself spending significant time in this frame of mind, it might be wise to reach out to a coach or therapist for support.

11. Create new routines.

Realize that the breakup is likely going to cause voids in your life. Say you and your ex always went to the movies every Friday, says Hendrix. Now your Friday nights are wide open, but instead of wallowing alone, proactively call your friends and make plans.

12. Explore old—and new—interests.

Say you really enjoy the outdoors, but your ex didn’t, so while you were together, you cut back on your weekend hiking habit. Now that you’re single, give yourself permission to reconnect with that interest and also explore new hobbies. “The universe meets us at the point of action, and if we’re trying to heal, we have to take steps to heal,” says Hendrix.

Emma Roberts and Evan Peters Have Reportedly Broken Up

Emma Roberts and Evan Peters have reportedly ended their relationship, Us Weekly reports. The couple first started dating in 2012 and became engaged the next year—but that being said, their relationship status has been both on and off over the years.

As of 2017, though, a source confirmed to Us Weekly Roberts and Peters were firmly together and engaged. They attended Vanity Fair‘s Oscars after-party 2018 looking very much like a couple.

But now is a different story. According to one of Us Weekly‘s sources, Roberts has reportedly moved on with actor Garrett Hedlund. The pair were recently spotted spending time together in Los Angeles.
“Garrett and Emma have been friends, but this is new, casual, and just a couple of weeks old,” the source says.

You probably recognize Hedlund from HBO’s series Mosaic, where he played Joel Hurley. He’s also appeared in movies like Triple Frontier and Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, which starred Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Joe Awyn.

Don’t worry, though: The source also alleges Roberts and Peters intend to remain friends, and that it “wasn’t a bad breakup.” “Emma and Evan were heading for a split and now are just friends,” the source says. “Evan has moved out.”

News of the reported split comes after the pair starred together in American Horror Story: Apocalypse. Peters has appeared on every season of AHS since the first in 2011. Meanwhile, Roberts has been in Coven, Freakshow, Cult, and Apocalypse, and is slated to star in the upcoming ninth season, which is still untitled. She also had a major role in Ryan Murphy’s short-lived Fox series Scream Queens.

Neither Emma Roberts nor Evan Peters has confirmed this news, so take it with a grain of salt for now. And, of course, it’s important to respect everyone’s privacy at this time.

Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson Have Reportedly Broken Up

Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson have ended their relationship, Us Weekly confirmed on Tuesday, February 19. “They aren’t speaking,” a source tells the magazine.

There have been signs recently hinting that this might happen. For one, Kardashian and Thompson reportedly didn’t spend Valentine’s Day together—though he did send her flowers, which she posted to Instagram Stories—and they haven’t been seen in public together since January 13. Kardashian also hasn’t made plans to move back to Cleveland, where Thompson lives during basketball season. Add in the cryptic messages Kardashian has been posting lately to Instagram (see below) and you have reason to believe all is not well with Kardashian and Thompson.

TMZ reports that Kardashian ended things after Thompson cheated on her with Kylie Jenner’s best friend, Jordyn Woods. Shortly after this rumor surfaced, Thompson tweeted (then deleted), “FAKE NEWS.”

But it looks like Kardashian and her best friend Malika Haqq may have confirmed it. “STRONG FACTS,” Haqq commented underneath a Hollywood Unlocked post about the story. Kardashian quickly followed with a string of emojis.

If true, this wouldn’t be Thompson’s first cheating scandal. In April 2018, just days before Kardashian gave birth to their daughter, Thompson was spotted kissing another woman in New York City. The story became a focal point on Keeping Up With the Kardashians that season. In June, Kardashian defended her decision to stay with Thompson, tweeting, “You have no knowledge of what goes on in our household or the enormous rebuilding this takes to even coexist. I’m proud of my strength. I appreciate your opinion and I hope you hold that same opinion to everyone else who has stayed in situations.”

Her sister Kim was less kind about the situation, telling Ellen DeGeneres, “Like, I don’t even know how to describe it besides it’s just so fucked up.”

We’ve reached out to Khloé Kardashian’s and Jordyn Woods’ reps for comment and will update this post if and when they respond.

Broken Harts, Episode 8: 'There Were Good Times'

In April 2019, a little more than a year after the crash that killed the Hart family, there will be a formal coroner’s inquest, after which the jury’s decision on whether the tragedy of last year was a murder by one person, a conspiracy to murder by more than one person, or an accident will be revealed to the public.

But what about those who knew Jen and Sarah Hart best? What do they think?

Jen and Sarah frequently implied they had no support system, but it seems their isolation was created purposely. In an email to field reporter Lauren Smiley on September 25, 2018, Jen’s younger brother, Jonathan, explained that it was Jen’s choice to distance herself from the family. “One thing I would like to clarify for myself AND my family is that Jen was NOT ousted from the family for being gay. I have been openly gay, even in high school, and it never affected me living in my mom or dad’s home.” He continued, “If anything, all this time, my family did nothing but try to help and understand Jen—not work against her.”

Jonathan went on to assert that his family had always been supportive of Jen. “Nobody has done anything to [Jen] to warrant this,” Jonathan says. “All I have seen my whole life is her getting—my parents, grandparents, anybody—people jumping through hoops to give her what she wanted, and that’s all I can say. People loved her. They really stuck up for her…. It really hurts me when this stuff gets reflected on my parents. That really hurts my feelings. My mother is wonderful, and she did put up with a lot from my sister. We all did.”

Similarly, sources close to Sarah’s family told Glamour that the family had not been in touch with Sarah for a long time, but that it was Sarah’s choice to cut off contact, not the other way around.

Sarah and Jen distanced themselves from their families, kept friends at arm’s length, and closed their blinds on concerned neighbors. When schools, social services, the medical community, and the festival community asked questions, the women were able to foster doubt and convince the world that they were normal parents. When anyone got too close, Jen and Sarah withdrew, they canceled plans or relocated, or they moved the conversation to Facebook, where Jen could control the narrative. This was their choice, and in the end they were alone.

Back in August 2018, Lauren Smiley connected with Hannah Scott, a professor of criminology at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, who has spent a lot of time studying the psyches of women who commit heinous crimes. In their discussion, Scott noted that very little is known about same-sex couples and domestic abuse, and women who kill their families, or what may drive them to do so. Here, Scott explains why that is:

Portland’s KOIN 6 News recently pointed out in a report that since the crash, two very different images of the Hart family have emerged: “One is of a family in crisis, and the other is of a family trying to make the world a better place.” Singer Jenni Price of the band Acoustic Minds is someone who saw the Harts as trying to make the world a better place. Price wrote her song “Quicksand” after seeing that viral photo of Devonte hugging a policeman at the Portland rally in 2014. Price told KOIN 6 News that, after writing the song, she approached Jen Hart to ask if the family would appear in the music video, but said Jen was initially reluctant. She went on to explain she “had never met a family like this…. They did not have TV, they did not use cell phones, they did not have technology in ways like children are glued. Instead their home was filled with books, musical instruments, artistic equipment like paint and crayons and markers and huge construction paper for art projects, their yard was open and a large part of it was a garden.”

In Price’s eyes, the family “exemplified the hope, acceptance, genuine will of unconditional love.” On Zillow, the Harts’ home in West Linn, Oregon, is listed as a spacious four-bedroom. Was this a happy home? Going by Price’s description, there’s reason to believe it could have been. And yet, those who knew the Harts in Woodland, Washington, paint a very different picture: a household where children were being abused, and went hungry; a home the police reported was unusually spare and lacking signs of the children’s presence.

While interviewing Dana DeKalb one afternoon, field reporter Lauren Smiley took a walk through the Harts’ backyard. While there, she spotted an ornament hanging from a tree: a ceramic VW hippie van with “flower power” details. Turning it over in her hand, Lauren saw the price tag was still stuck on the bottom: “Ross Dress for Less, $7.99.”

The ornament reflects the image that Jen Hart so desperately wanted to project to the world: a merry band of travelers, alone, but alone together. Happy together. And those who knew the Harts would like to believe this is true: that there were happy times together; that, as Dana DeKalb puts it, “There were good times, that it wasn’t constant ugly.”

In April of this year, a jury of 12 will attempt to determine the cause of death for the bodies found at the crash site. What will they see in the evidence, and in the case? Will they see Jen and Sarah as tragic antiheroes, or as monsters? Neither is the whole story, because what Jen and Sarah Hart actually were is even harder to accept. They were both.

Broken Harts, Episode 4: 'My God, There's Six of Them'

On Facebook, Jen Hart frequently wrote about her children, discussing what all six of them were up to in lengthy, paragraphs-long posts. But according to Bruce and Dana DeKalb, the Harts’ neighbors in Woodland, Washington, those posts provide a stark contrast to their own interactions with the six Hart children.

At first the DeKalbs rarely see the Harts, save a few chance encounters in their driveway. But this changes on Thursday, March 15, 2018 when Devonte approaches Bruce while he’s working outside and asks him for tortillas. The following morning, the DeKalbs answer a knock at their door: It’s Devonte again, this time asking for bread. Devonte shows up at the DeKalbs’ home asking for food on seven separate occasions that week.

While Jen is sharing pictures of Devonte on Facebook, smiling and seemingly happy, Bruce and Dana DeKalb are seeing something vastly different: A child who is afraid and hungry. Dana uses each one of those visits to gently prod for more information about the family.

What was going on inside the Hart family’s home? Here’s field reporter, Lauren Smiley, with the DeKalbs:

Devonte eventually opens up to the DeKalbs, stating that he and his siblings are being abused by Jen and Sarah. Upon hearing this, Dana DeKalb takes action, calling Child Protective Services on Friday, March 23, to report the information she has collected about her neighbors. Officials show up within a couple of hours, but when they knock on the door, neither Jen nor Sarah answers. That evening the two moms will pack up their Yukon with their six children and leave hurriedly, knocking over their stone wall in the process.

On Saturday, March 24, the Harts’ phones pinged off cell towers along the Oregon coast into California, and on Sunday, the 25th, Jen shows up in a Safeway surveillance video in Fort Bragg: Alone, wearing eyeglasses and a hoodie, she pays $20.08 in cash for groceries.

On Monday, March 26, a Washington State CPS investigator calls 911 to request that a deputy go out to the Harts’ house.

That afternoon a German tourist spots the Harts’ tan 2003 Yukon XL upside down at the bottom of the cliff in Mendocino County. The bodies of Jen, Sarah, Markis, Abigail, and Jeremiah are found at the crash site; a foot, believed to be Hannah’s, is also discovered. Sierra’s body washed ashore about two weeks later. Devonte is still missing.

No one in the car was wearing a seatbelt. Jen’s blood alcohol level was over the legal limit, and toxicology reports show that Sarah and two of the kids had allergy medication in their system that could have made them drowsy. The car’s computer shows that moments before the crash, Jen had stopped on a gravel pullout 70 feet from the edge of the cliff, only to then accelerate. According to a Carfax report, the brake pads had been replaced the previous July. Per industry experts, the average brake pad lasts for around 40,000 miles—implying that the brake pads were likely in working order.

Were Jen and Sarah running from a longer tail of child abuse allegations? Did those who knew them earlier in life have any indication as to what was going on? That, and more, next time on Broken Harts.
